New Delhi, Apr 3 () Mumbai-based Hiranandani group has donated Rs 5 crore to Maharashtra Chief Minister's Relief Fund to tackle the coronavirus crisis. "@hiranandani_com commits Rs5crs to Maharashtra Chief Minister's Relief Fund #CMRF to battle out #COVID 19 Pandemic," Hiranandani group MD Niranjan Hiranandani tweeted. Real estate associations and many developers have come forward to support the central governments and state governments. Many developers are providing cooked meals, dry rations, masks and sanitisers to construction workers on their projects sites. Earlier, CREDAI-Gujarat chapter has donated Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. DLF group CSR arm DLF Foundation has donated Rs 5 crore to Haryana CM Relief Fund, besides pledging to provide 27 lakh meals. "Till date, cooked meals have been served to 2,80,750 persons and dry rations equivalent to 24,24,800 meals are in the process of being supplied," DLF Foundation said in a statement. It has also donated ICU ventilator, multiple diagnostic machines and hospital beds to South Delhi Municipal Corporation. FDI-funded realty firm Experion Developers on Wednesday said it has donated Rs 1.85 crore to the PM-CARES Fund. The firm has also contributed Rs 20 lakh to the Haryana Corona Relief Fund. Bengaluru-based developers including Embassy Group, Prestige group, Shriram Properties and Puravankara, are providing meals and other essential items to workers. On behalf of the association, Naredco-Uttar Pradesh President R K Arora has handed over cheque of 10 lakh to district magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar for Covid-19 pandemic relief fund. NAREDCO-UP has offered 500 beds to the state government, if required for isolation. Delhi-based Signature Global has contributed Rs 2 lakh to the PM-CARES Fund, Rs 1 lakh to CII Foundation, and Rs 7 lakh to the labourers. According to an ANI report, the group said, "We're ready to work for less salary, but we want Jet Airways to come back”.The CM has assured them the government will step in, added the report. An estimated 22,000 Jet employees were left without work after the airline suspended operations last month following an extended period of cash flow and debt problems. Some of them have been subsequently offered jobs by rival airlines like SpiceJet and Air India, but many are still unemployed. A number of bids are expected this week from potential investors including Etihad Airways PJSC, India’s National Investment and Infrastructure Fund and private equity firms TPG Capital and Indigo Partners, Mint <a href="https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/jet-airways-employees-bid-may-be-heard-as-others-waver-1557465393596.html">reported. </a> Separately, some Jet airways employees are also planning to submit their own bid to rescue the airline.

Union Environment and <keyword id="136545" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Forest-minister">Forest Minister</keyword> <keyword id="119642" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Prakash-Javadekar">Prakash Javadekar</keyword> granted environment clearance for the ambitious 35-km-long coastal road project between Nariman Point and Kandivali in Mumbai. 
 It was announced by <keyword id="26806" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Maharashtra-Chief-Minister">Maharashtra Chief Minister</keyword> <keyword id="6355042" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Devendra-Fadnavis">Devendra Fadnavis</keyword> today, according to a PTI report. 
	 

	"Thank you @PrakashJavdekarjee for approving coastal road for Mumbai. It's a dream come true. Best gift to Mumbai by Modiji's Govt," Fadnavis tweeted after meeting Javadekar in Delhi this morning. 
	 

	"Coastal road will decongest the traffic of Mumbai and will create 91 hectares of green spaces. Taking Mumbai infra to next standard. Earlier govt. was talking about coastal road for 5yrs. I'd promised Mumbai that will get it approved in 5 months," he said. 
	 

	"Happy it took even lesser time. Timeline of Mumbai coastal road clearance. Draft Notification by 15th June. Final notification by 15th August," the chief minister said in series of tweets. The <keyword id="6356172" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Maharashtra-government">Maharashtra government</keyword> signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 6 with the government of the <keyword id="44173" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Netherlands">Netherlands</keyword> to obtain technical advice on feasibility of building metro track along the proposed coastal road connecting north and south Mumbai. 
	 

	The coastal road project was conceived by the previous Congress-NCP government after it decided to drop the extension of the Bandra-Worli sea link project up to Haji Ali.

Boost for Mumbai infrastructure, Centre clears coastal road project

<ul><li>The local services on the network of Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) -- the city's lifeline -- is specifically for the employees of the <keyword id="13126" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maharashtra">Maharashtra</keyword> government who are engaged in essential services.</li><li>This follows repeated appeals by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to the Centre for resumption of services as part of the unlocking process post COVID-19 lockdown. </li></ul> After a gap of over two-and-a-half months, the Railways resumed limited suburban train services in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) on Monday morning, officials said. The local services on the network of Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) -- the city's lifeline -- is specifically for the employees of the Maharashtra government who are engaged in essential services. This follows repeated appeals by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to the Centre for resumption of services as part of the unlocking process post COVID-19 lockdown. Accordingly, the familiar sight and sounds of the suburban trains greeted Mumbaikars since early morning as the CR and WR together started 450 services, according to officials. The WR will run 60 pairs of its 12 car suburban services -- total 120 -- in both directions between <keyword id="74906" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Churchgate">Churchgate</keyword> and <keyword id="1077401" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dahanu-Road">Dahanu Road</keyword>, according to WR spokesperson <keyword id="3465642" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ravindra-Bhakar">Ravindra Bhakar</keyword>. The CR will run 100 services on either side on its Main line -- between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Thane, Kalyan, Karjat and Kasara and 70 services on either side of Harbour line -- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Panvel, said CR spokesperson Shivaji Sutar. "These trains will run between 05.30 hrs to 23.30 hrs", said a CR-WR joint statement early Monday. "It is requested not to rush to the stations and follow medical and social protocols as mandated for CoVID-19," the CR-WR joint statement said.

 Discussions have been already held with <keyword id="6391015" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Finance-Minister-Arun-Jaitley">finance minister Arun Jaitley</keyword> and the Reserve Bank of India. 
 
The master plan, which is being prepared by a committee headed by Jayant Sinha, is being developed on the lines of financial centre in Gujarat with some necessary changes. 
 
"Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai have prospered because many Indians prefer to set up their companies there instead of setting up here because of taxation issues. What we are going to do is simply remove those tax hindrances,” said Poonam Mahajan, deputy chairperson of the committee. 
 
The proposed international district will come up on 60 acres of land.

Maha crisis: 'A powerful force behind the rebellion'

Taiwan based <keyword id="6354671" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Foxconn">Foxconn</keyword> declared this Saturday that it is planning to invest $5 billion over five years on a new electronic manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. 
 The formal declaration was done by Maharashtra Chief Minister <keyword id="6355042" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Devendra-Fadnavis">Devendra Fadnavis</keyword> and Foxconn founder <keyword id="166576" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Terry-Gou">Terry Gou</keyword> after they signed the formal agreement sealing the deal. 
Gou said that the company was looking for local partners for the new facility. 
 
Gou had said prevoisly that he is personally in touch with governments of several states to set up manufacturing units in the world's fastest growing smartphone market.
