India’s tourism is growing in leaps and bounds. While there were no major announcements in the union budget this year, as was expected by many, the business of tourism was majorly hit by the demonetization move last year. An industry still saddled with multiple layers of tax include VAT, service tax, luxury tax etc. and ranges from 20% - 30%, Indian tourism is now gaining momentum, thanks to the inbound tourism growth. 
 While the inbound tourists prioritized Rajasthan, <keyword id="6355354" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Taj-Mahal">Taj Mahal</keyword> and Delhi, we have seen many off beat places gaining popularity recently. Chetan <keyword id="140895" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Juneja">Juneja</keyword>, senior vice president of <keyword id="4307349" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="tamarind-global">Tamarind Global</keyword>, which organizes inbound tourism in offbeat places of India, while talking to <keyword id="824043" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Business-Insider">Business Insider</keyword> rightly observed that <keyword id="175524" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Khajuraho">Khajuraho</keyword> is a destination that is gaining good traction from tourists. 
 
 
This is happening “mainly due to its explicit sculptures which are an expression of human emotions such as love, passion and unique engineering and erotic arts,” said Juneja. 
 
 
 Located about 175 kilometres from <keyword id="55224" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jhansi">Jhansi</keyword>, this <keyword id="701639" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="UNESCO-World-Heritage-Sites">UNESCO World Heritage Sites</keyword> is famous for their nagara-style architectural symbolism and their erotic sculptures. 
 
 Most Khajuraho temples were built between 950 and 1050 by the Chandela dynasty. Historical records note that the Khajuraho temple site had 85 temples by the 12th century, spread over 20 square kilometers. While Khajuraho gains prominence, Juneja said, there are some major hurdles paralyzing off beat tourism in India. 
 
“Enabling the traveller to understand the location and its significance, limit on infrastructure,” are the major hurdles as of now. “This can be addressed in a positive way giving the excitement and promoting it as an experiential tour,” he said.

<keyword id="465710" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cognizant-Technology-Solutions-Corporation">Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation</keyword> (CTS) has recently announced an internal investigation under the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=bribe&amp;sortorder=score">US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act</a> into certain payments made to facilities in India. 
 
The probe led the company to appoint its IT Services Chief Executive <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=bribe&amp;sortorder=score">Rajeev Mehta</a> on September 28 as its President, a day after incumbent <keyword id="333490" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gordon-Coburn">Gordon Coburn</keyword> resigned on September 27. 
 "The investigation is being conducted under the oversight of the audit committee and is focused on a small number of company-owned facilities," <keyword id="28721" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Cognizant">Cognizant</keyword> said in a regulatory filing with the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=bribe&amp;sortorder=score">US Securities and Exchange Commission </a>(<keyword id="6362470" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="SEC">SEC</keyword>). 
 The company has notified the <keyword id="99225" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Justice-Department">Justice Department</keyword> and the SEC and is cooperating with both agencies. 
 
"The internal investigation is in its early stages, and the company is not able to predict what, if any, action may be taken by the Justice Department, SEC or any governmental authority in connection with the investigation or the effect of the matter on the company's results, cash flows or financial position," it said in the filing. 
 <keyword id="6371425" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mehta">Mehta</keyword>, 49, who has been with the company since 1997, was Chief Executive of its IT Services since December 2013. 
 
"For the past decade, Mehta has been responsible for leading our market-facing teams in delivering industry-leading growth. He has a deep understanding of new technologies and new delivery models and their potential to transform businesses," said Cognizant Chief Executive Officer Francisco D'Souza in a statement. 
 
As Chief Executive of IT Services, Mehta was responsible for market-facing activities across the company. His prior roles include Group Chief Executive, Industries &amp; Markets, where he led its industry vertical and geographic market operations on a global basis. 
 
"I am honoured to assume this new role at an exciting time in Cognizant's history. Over the past year, we have designed and introduced a new operating model to support our strategic vision and growth," said Mehta in the statement. 
 Co-founded by Indian-origin Kumar <keyword id="83718" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahadeva">Mahadeva</keyword> and D'Souza two decades ago, the Nasdaq listed $12.4-billion IT major has its largest software development centres in Chennai, <keyword id="6354321" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bengaluru">Bengaluru</keyword> and Hyderabad. 
 In its previous avatar, the company was an IT arm of <keyword id="3707146" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="dun-bradstreet-satyam-software">Dun &amp; Bradstreet Satyam Software</keyword> in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=bribe&amp;sortorder=score">Chennai </a>and was spun off as <keyword id="3707150" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="cognizant-corporation">Cognizant Corporation</keyword> in 1996 after it bought 24 per cent equity stake of <keyword id="10958" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Satyam">Satyam</keyword> for $3.4 million. Its headquarters was shifted to the US in 1997.

Cognizant is probing unlawful payments in its India operation

The US-based tech giant has added over 2,000 new images and 70 virtual exhibits to its platform through partnerships with various Indian institutes to give a glimpse of the rich Indian heritage to viewers across the world. Thus we can now see the exhibits from Kolkata's Victoria Memorial Hall, Dastkari Haat Samiti and Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute online.
 "In the last two years, we have seen a huge traction to <keyword id="6355629" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Google">Google</keyword> Cultural Institute. We have seen over 240 million page views. However, that has not affected these institutes negatively and they have seen higher footfalls," Google Cultural Institute Director <keyword id="255179" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Amit-Sood">Amit Sood</keyword> told PTI. 

	Google is also helping some of these institutes to make the content even more accessible through mobile apps to help them showcase their exhibits, he added. 
 

	The unveiled collection also includes 26 new virtual tours of famous sites like the Ekattarso Mahadeva Temple and the royal saloon that once was part of the Palace on Wheels. 
 "India has a rich heritage and culture and it has been our endeavour to showcase this to the world. Technology will play a crucial role in transforming and building a truly Digital India and in getting Indian culture and heritage online," Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent Charge) <keyword id="210147" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mahesh-Sharma">Mahesh Sharma</keyword> told PTI.

According to a report from the <a href="http://www.renewoureconomy.org/">Partnership for a New American Economy</a>, nine of the top 25 U.S. public tech companies were founded by people born outside the U.S. That's 36%.

It's well known in the U.S. tech community that a lot of talent comes from abroad, especially when it comes to coders and engineers. In fact, many <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/immigration-policy-and-tech-startups-2013-1">blame U.S. immigration policy</a> for holding back innovation in America, and a number of tech companies worked for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-real-reason-big-tech-wants-more-h-1b-2013-2">new immigration laws</a>, leading to the creation of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/immigration-reform-senate-passes-bill-path-citizenship-2013-6">H1B Visa Program</a>, which makes it easier for companies to offer visas to high-skilled workers in technology and engineering fields. Mark Zuckerberg was a huge advocate for that program with his group <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/zuckerberg-h-1b-visa-system-2013-5?op=1">FWD.us</a>.
The idea is that successful innovation in American will be forwarded by allowing more foreigners to immigrate. And the fact that a third of these tech founders are first-generation Americans can't hurt the argument.
