Morgan Stanley forecasts a 14% upside to the BSE Sensex by December 2024 in their base case scenario. They expect BSE Sensex earnings to compound at a rate of 21.5% annually through F2026E. However, the analysis also acknowledges the potential for volatility in 2024, which is evident in their bull-bear scenarios. Rajasthan: BJP makes a comeback The Bharatiya Janata Party is returning to power in Rajasthan having won 115 seats, as per the Election Commission of India. There are 199 Assembly seats in Rajasthan, and the halfway mark is 100. The Congress was in the incumbent party in the state. The beating of drums and dancing by BJP workers started early in Jaipur as official EC trends showed the party build lead. Rahul Gandhi-led Congress won 69 seats. Former chief minister and BJP leader Vasundhara Raje won from the Jhalrapatan seat. Among the other BJP candidates who won were Diya Kumari from Vidhyadhnagar, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore from Jhotwara, Samaram from Pindwara Abu, Govind Prasad from Manohar Thana, Jaswant Singh Yadav from Behror, Mahendra Pal Meena from Jamwa Ramgarh, Anita Bhadel from Ajmer South, and Madan Dilawar from Ramganj Mandi. Madhya Pradesh: BJP returns The ruling BJP looks on course to retain power in Madhya Pradesh. As per the latest figures available with the Election Commission, the BJP was leading in 163 of the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, while the Congress was ahead in 66 seats. Many party leaders attributed the electoral success to PM Narendra Modi, who addressed as many as 14 poll rallies in the state. The state Congress office bore a deserted look. "So there is no reason for concern or panic. The mutations will keep happening at a rapid pace and this is the natural behaviour of viruses like SARS-CoV2," the source said. The source further said that the INSACOG surveillance is sensitive and is able to pick up the emergence of any new variant and samples are also picked from hospitals in a structured manner to detect any change in the severity of disease due to virus. Data compiled by the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) showed that 34 cases of KP.1 have been found across seven states and UTs with 23 cases registered from West Bengal. The other states are Goa (1), Gujarat (2), Haryana (1), Maharashtra (4) Rajasthan (2) and Uttarakhand (1). As many as 290 cases of KP.2 have been registered with Maharashtra reporting the highest number at 148, according to the data. The other states and Union territories are Delhi (1), Goa (12), Gujarat (23), Haryana (3), Karnataka (4), Madhya Pradesh (1), Odisha (17), Rajasthan (21), Uttar Pradesh (8), Uttarakhand (16) and West Bengal (36). A decline of 1,142 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.19 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 3.31 per cent, according to the health ministry. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,37,33,624, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent. According to the ministry, 210.31 crore doses of Covid vaccines have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive. India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19. India crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4, three crore on June 23 last year and four crore on January 25 this year. India logs in 8,586 new Covid infections, active cases decline

Chouhan issued the directives in this regard during a meeting held on Friday, an official statement said. "It will be mandatory for the travellers coming from Maharashtra to carry a <keyword id="8734505" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="negative-report">negative report</keyword> for <keyword id="1559124" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="coronavirus-infection">coronavirus infection</keyword>. The responsibility for this will be with the bus operators, who will allow passengers to board the bus only on the basis of the report," Chouhan said. Adequate arrangements should be made for checking along the the state's border areas, he said. Chouhan said that the number of coronavirus cases in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Betul, Chhindwara, Ujjain and the state's districts bordering Maharashtra, has been on the rise. He also said that the situation in all the districts along the Maharashtra border should be monitored constantly. The chief minister expressed the possibility of imposition of night curfew in Indore and Bhopal- the two cities in the state that are worst-affected by the pandemic. "The coronavirus infection in Bhopal and Indore is continuously rising. If there is no drop in the COVID-19 cases in the next three days, then night curfew will be imposed in Bhopal and Indore from March 8," Chouhan said. The coronavirus cases in Indore have almost doubled over the last fortnight. Hence, there is a need to pay special attention in Indore and Bhopal,the chief minister said. On Friday, six persons in Indore district were found infected with the UK variant of coronavirus. These patients - all of them males aged between 19 and 49 years - had no history of foreign travel, an official had said. Madhya Pradesh on Friday reported 457 COVID-19 cases, taking the infection tally to 2,63,747, health officials said. With 176 new cases, Indore's caseload went up to 60,386, while that of Bhopal rose to 44,474 with the addition of 77 cases. Indore has so far reported 933 deaths and Bhopal 618. So far, 327 persons have been tested positive for coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh with 14 more cases being reported on Wednesday. Satna, Apr 8 (PTI) An FIR has been registered against local Congress MLA Siddharth Kushwaha and seven others for allegedly defying CrPC Section 144, which bans assembly of four or more people, during the lockdown, police said on Wednesday. The MLA led a protest near Nai Basti area of Satna in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, in violation of Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and the lockdown enforced in the district, police inspector Mohit Saxena said. Details of the protest that Kushwaha led were not immediately known. "We have booked eight persons, including Kushwaha, under relevant provisions of the India Penal Code and the Disaster Management Act," the police official said. Efforts were on to identify others involved in the protest, he said. The man, who was tested positive for COVID-19 on March 24, succumbed to the infection while undergoing treatment at a private hospital on Tuesday evening, said the official of the Government Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College. Indore, the commercial capital of Madhya Prdesh, has so far reported 173 COVID-19 cases with 16 deaths while eleven people have been discharged from hospitals after recovery.

Bhopal, Jul 10 () Madhya Pradesh on Friday recorded316 new COVID-19 patients, taking the case count to 16,657, state health officials said. With four more people succumbing to the viral infection, the death toll went up to 638, they said. Three patients died in Indore and one in Tikamgarh, officials said. The highest 60 new cases were reported in Gwalior, followed by 57 in Bhopal and 44 in Indore during the day. 249 persons were discharged from hospitals after recovery on Friday. Bhopal, Jun 11 () The coronavirus case count in Madhya Pradesh reached 10,241 on Thursday with 192 new patients being detected, 85 of them in Bhopal, since previous evening. Four COVID-19 patients died during this period, taking the death toll to 431, the health department said. Since lockdown was eased on May 31, the state has added 2,152 new COVID-19 cases. 81 more people, including four during past 24-hours, died during this period. Since Wednesday evening, state capital Bhopal reported 85 cases, followed by 41 in Indore. Two deaths were reported in Indore and one each in Burhanpur and Chhindwara. No new coronavirus case was reported from 28 districts since Wednesday evening. While cases have been reported from 51 of total 52 districts so far, four of them did not have any active cases on Thursday, the health bulletin said. The number of cases in Indore, the worst-hit district in the state, rose by 41 to 3,922 and death toll to 163. Bhopal crossed the 2,000-mark with 85 new patients of the epidemic found since Wednesday night. The Madhya Pradesh capital has so far reported 2,012 COVID-19 patients including 66 who died.
