A bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra on Thursday took note of the submissions of lawyer Anas Tanwir on the issue. The bench said the matter will be listed on Friday. The plea said many candidates have been allocated cities which are highly inconvenient for them to reach. It said the test cities were allotted on July 31 and the specific centres will be declared on August 8. While the allocation of the centres was done to curb malpractices, the plea said due to the paucity of time, it is difficult for the candidates to make arrangements for travel to specific cities. "Issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus ...the Respondents (<keyword id="19904021" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Testing-Agency" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="National Testing Agency" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="National Testing Agency">National Testing Agency</keyword>) to reschedule the NEET-PG 2024 examination," stated the plea filed by Vishal Soren. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-Postgraduate exam was initially supposed to be held on June 23. It was postponed by the Union Health Ministry as a "precautionary measure" in the wake of alleged irregularities in certain competitive exams. Supreme Court to hear plea seeking postponement of NEET-PG on Friday

Pakistan resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation on the <keyword id="44759" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Line-of-Control">line of control</keyword> (LoC) on Tuesday targeting Indian positions in Jammu and Kashmir's <keyword id="158222" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Poonch-district">Poonch district</keyword>. Devender Anand, spokesman of Defence Ministry said that at 4.30 a.m., Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars along the LoC in Mankote sector of <keyword id="44760" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Poonch">Poonch</keyword> district. "Indian army retaliated befittingly," he added. Since the beginning of this year, Pakistan has been violating the bilateral ceasefire agreement signed by India and Pakistan in 1999. A total of 24 civilians were killed and over 100 injured in more than 3,186 ceasefire violations by Pakistan on the LoC so far this year. Thousands of people living in villages close to the LoC are living life on the edge as shelling from across the border endangers their lives, livelihood and agricultural activities. Defence Ministry pegs Pakistan's LoC ceasefire violations at 3,186 so far this year

A test that can diagnose Covid-19 in minutes will dramatically expand the capacity to detect cases in low- and middle-income countries, <keyword id="3169687" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-World-Health-Organization">the World Health Organization</keyword> (WHO) has said. The $5 test could transform tracking of Covid-19 in less wealthy countries, which have shortages of healthcare workers and laboratories, the BBC reported on Monday. A deal with manufacturers will provide 120 million tests over six months. The WHO's head called it a major milestone. Lengthy gaps between taking a test and receiving a result have hampered many countries' attempts to control the spread of <keyword id="1754604" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="coronavirus">coronavirus</keyword>. In some countries with high infection rates, including India and Mexico, experts have said that low testing rates are disguising the true spread of their outbreaks. The "new, highly portable and easy-to-use test" will provide results in 15-30 minutes instead of hours or days, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a news conference on Monday. Drugs manufacturers Abbott and SD Biosensor have agreed with the charitable Bill and <keyword id="142497" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Melinda-Gates-Foundation">Melinda Gates Foundation</keyword> to produce 120 million of the tests, Tedros explained. Shalby Ltd The Board of Shalby has approved to reduce promoters’ shareholding in the company to 75% from the current level of 79.45%. Anuh Pharma Anuh Pharma has received approval from the World Health Organization— Geneva Prequalification for Pyrimethamine API, which is used as antimalarial drugs. The shares of Anuh Pharma ended 5% higher yesterday. DHFL DHFL transaction auditor Grant Thornton flagged fraudulent transactions worth ₹12,705.53 crore took place at debt-ridden mortgage firm DHFL during FY17 to FY19. The shares of DHFL ended 1.16% higher yesterday. Vedanta Vedanta's reverse book building for delisting starts on October 5. The bid will remain open until October 9, the company said. New Delhi, May 22 () Bank and NBFC stocks on Friday tumbled up to 8 per cent after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) extended moratorium on loan repayments. "The markets have initially reacted negatively to the RBI announcement. The Street keeps expecting more and more reliefs without knowing as to how each of these will be helpful. Shareholders of banks are worried by the current economic conditions and the pain that is postponed due to the moratorium being extended," said HDFC Securities MD &amp; CEO Dhiraj Relli. Shares of Axis Bank plunged 6.78 per cent, ICICI Bank dropped 6.12 per cent, RBL Bank 5.71 per cent, IndusInd Bank 4.59 per cent, Federal Bank 4.32 per cent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 2.85 per cent, HDFC Bank 2.71 per cent and SBI 1.57 per cent on the BSE. The BSE BANKEX was trading lower by 2.64 per cent. Among non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), Ujjivan Financial Services tumbled 8.25 per cent, Shriram Transport Finance Company tanked 8 per cent, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra Financial Services 6.20 per cent and Bajaj Finance 5.66 per cent. The RBI has announced further extension in moratorium period to end-borrowers from May 31 till August 31. We read this as major negative for all NBFCs (including the ones with strong liability franchises) as this would further delay the overall collection and recovery procedure, and stretch the total liquidity cycle for all. In addition, this would further damage financial discipline, especially for small-ticket borrowers and MFIs (microfinance institutions)," Emkay Global Financial Services said in a note. Jimeet Modi, founder and CEO of SAMCO Securities &amp; StockNote said, "Extension of moratorium is good for the economy but in substance, it will negatively impact banks and NBFCs. As a whole, the RBI has taken a calibrated approach to save the economy rather than favouring banks." The RBI on Friday slashed interest rates, extended moratorium on loan repayments and allowed banks to lend more to corporates in an effort to support the economy which is likely to contract for the first time in over four decades. The benchmark repurchase (repo) rate was cut by 40 basis points to 4 per cent, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said announcing the decisions taken by the central bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) that met ahead of its scheduled meeting in early June. The RBI supplemented the interest rate cut by extending by three months the permission given to all banks to give a three-month moratorium on payment of monthly instalments on all outstanding loans, providing relief to home and auto buyers as well as the real estate sector where construction activities are already at a standstill. Uncertainty was everywhere. Uncertainty about political events like the Brexit vote and the US election, uncertainty about what their shock outcomes will mean going forward, uncertainty about which beloved celebrity will be the next to die prematurely.&#xa0;Nowhere was this uncertainty more prominent than in the direction of the British economy after the country voted to sever ties with Brussels and leave the European Union.In the run-up to the referendum on June 23, many - <a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/bank-of-england-meeting-inflation-report-may-2016-5">including BoE Governor Mark Carney</a> - predicted a recession in the event of a vote to leave.
