After being pushed by the Supreme Court, the <keyword id="6356303" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Centre" source="Orion">Centre</keyword> on Wednesday told the top court that NEET-Super Speciality exam scheduled in November this year will be held as per the old question pattern. Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, representing the Centre, submitted before a bench headed by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud that in the larger interest of students, the government has decided that the revised <keyword id="12191324" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NEET-SS-exam" source="Orion">NEET-SS exam</keyword> syllabus will be introduced from 2022 -- the new question pattern will be applicable from next year. The bench replied that the "government has been very fair". Bhati said the exam scheduled this year will be held as per the old pattern. Advocate <keyword id="6368850" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="prashant-bhushan" source="Orion">Prashant Bhushan</keyword>, representing a petitioner, submitted that this should not in any way imply that the court is accepting the revised pattern exam for the next year. The bench recorded that the Centre states that decision has been taken in consultation with the National Medical Commission (NMC) and National Board of Examinations (NBE) and taking note of students' interest who would have commenced preparation for NEET-SS, before the change of pattern was notified. The bench said the Centre has stated that the modified pattern will be in effect from academic year 2022-23. "Since the grievance addressed under Article 32, and in these circumstances petitions under Article 32 are disposed of", said the bench. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court pulling up the Centre on the changes in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Super Specialty (NEET-SS) 2021 pattern, said the impression and message which will go out is that the medical education and medical regulation in the country has become a business and it appears the entire haste is for filling the vacant seats. On the aspect of syllabus change, the bench told the NBE counsel, "What was the hurry. You have an examination pattern which had been going on from 2018 to 2020." The top court said: "The impression we get is that the medical education has become a business and medical regulation has also become a business". The bench also comprising Justices Vikram Nath and B.V. Nagarathna said this would become a tragedy for the medical education in the country. More than two dozen people in and around Trump's orbit have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.That includes the president and first lady Melania Trump, multiple current and former Republican lawmakers, the White House press secretary, Trump counselor Hope Hicks, head of the White House security office Crede Bailey, and others.The second-highest-ranking official in the Marine Corps and a senior Coast Guard admiral have also tested positive, and top military officials including the joint chiefs of staff have had to go into quarantine as a result.Pence had tested negative as of Wednesday, but the Biden campaign insisted that debate staff erect a plexiglass wall between Harris and the vice president and keep them more than 6 feet apart as a precautionary measure.Harris also tested negative on Wednesday.The debate focused heavily on the Trump administration's handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, his team said it did not find sufficient evidence to charge anyone on the Trump campaign for conspiring with the Russian government to interfere in the 2016 race. The Bill seeks to merge three Ayurveda institutes into one institution -- Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda. The Bill declares the institute to be an institution of national importance. The Bill was moved by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan in the absence of Ayush Minister Sripad Naik, who is recovering from Covid-19. Harsh Vardhan said, "The ministry is giving deemed university status to the institutes in various parts of the country and the matter is referred to the UGC and Education Ministry." The Minister said that there are 103 institutes of national importance, but there was none in Ayurveda. He said the Jamnagar institute has been chosen because this is one of the oldest institutes of the country founded by the Government of India in 1956. Many MPs from the TRS, Bodoland People's Front, AIADMK, CPM, BSP and others demanded similar institutes in other states also. The Chairman, M. Venkiah Naidu, said, "The minister should take into consideration the demand of such institutes in every state." Congress leader L. Hanumanthiah raised objections during the discussion. He said, "Why Gujarat is given so much importance and Kerala should also be given prominence, which is a pioneer of the Ayurveda." While Thambidurai AIADMK member supported the Bill, he demanded a National Institute of Siddha in Tamil Nadu. Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal raised the issue of mental health and said House the mental counselling is needed in Covid times. RJD MP Manoj Jha demanded a regulator for the Ayurvedic medicines so that no misuse takes place. He cited the claims made by Ramdev that he has made medicine for Covid-19. The Bill seeks three institutes to be merged -- the Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Jamnagar, and, the Indian Institute of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Sciences, all in Jamnagar. The proposed Institute will be situated in the campus of Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar. The Institute will be developed on the patterns of teaching in medical education in Ayurveda and pharmacy, bring together educational facilities for training of personnel in all branches of Ayurveda, and attain self-sufficiency in postgraduate education to meet the need for specialists and medical teachers in Ayurveda, also make an in-depth study and research in the field of Ayurveda. The Bill provides that the Institute will consist of 15 members and the Director of the Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar will be appointed as the first Director of the Institute. The Bill states that there will be a Governing Body of the Institute, which will exercise powers and such functions of the Institute, as specified.
