The <keyword id="6354335" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (<keyword id="30067" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="RBI">RBI</keyword>) has appointed three new executive directors. The number of executive directors has now gone up to 11. It has also restructured some banking regulation departments. 
 M D Patra, principal advisor in the <keyword id="1506340" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Monetary-Policy-Department">monetary policy department</keyword>, has been promoted to the post of executive director. He will be the head of the monetary policy department and the department of economic policy and research. Prior to this, both these departments were under Executive Director D Mohanty, who will now oversee the financial stability unit and the inspection and risk monitoring department. 
 
K K Vohra and G Mahalingam are the other new executive directors.

RBI Appoints Three New Executive Directors

The <keyword id="414761" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-Polices-special-cell">Delhi Police's Special Cell</keyword> on Monday served a notice to <keyword id="749437" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Twitter-India">Twitter India</keyword> in connection with the probe into a complaint about the alleged '<keyword id="11315501" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="covid-toolkit">COVID toolkit</keyword>', asking it to share information based on which it had classified a related tweet by BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra as "manipulated media", officials said. Two police teams also descended on the microblogging site's offices in Lado Sarai in Delhi and in Gurgaon this evening. "The <keyword id="6358992" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-Police">Delhi police</keyword> team went to the Twitter office to serve a notice to Twitter as a part of routine process. This was necessitated as we wanted to ascertain who is the right person to serve a notice, as replies by Twitter India MD have been very ambiguous," Delhi Police PRO Chinmoy Biswal said The BJP has accused the Congress of creating a 'toolkit' that seeks to tarnish the image of the country and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the handling of the COVID pandemic. However, the Congress has denied the allegation and claimed that the BJP is propagating a fake 'toolkit' to defame it. Last week, Twitter labelled as "manipulated media" a tweet by Patra on the alleged 'toolkit'. Twitter says it "may label Tweets that include media (videos, audio, and images) that have been deceptively altered or fabricated". Biswal said the Delhi Police is inquiring into a complaint in the alleged toolkit matter. "It appears that Twitter has some information which is not known to us and on the basis of which they have classified it (Patra's tweet) as such. This information is relevant to the inquiry. The Special Cell, which is conducting the inquiry, wants to find out the truth. Twitter, which has claimed to know the underlying truth, should clarify," he said. The police, however, refused to divulge the contents of the complaint or the identity of the complainant. The notice sent earlier to Twitter India MD stated that "whereas a preliminary enquiry is being conducted pertaining to the 'Toolkit' which is allegedly released by the <keyword id="190679" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-National-Congress">Indian National Congress</keyword> and whereas during the course of the investigation, it has come to our knowledge that you are acquainted with the facts of the matter and are in possession of information with regard to the same." The police in the notice requested Twitter India MD to be present in the DCP office for the purpose of investigation with all the relevant documents on May 22 at 1 PM. Twitter, however, did not wish to offer any comment. BJP leaders, including Patra, have posted numerous tweets to attack the Congress over the purported 'toolkit'. On May 19, the Congress lodged a police complaint seeking registration of cases against BJP chief J P Nadda, Union minister Smriti Irani, BJP general secretary B L Santosh and Patra over the alleged forgery of documents. The Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress' students wing NSUI also lodged a complaint against Patra and former chief minister Raman Singh for allegedly "forging" the letterhead of the AICC Research Department and printing "false and fabricated" content on it. On the basis of the complaint, a case has been filed against Patra and Singh at the Civil Lines police station in Raipur. Delhi Police serves notice to Twitter India, visits office, in connection with 'COVID toolkit' probe

New Delhi, May 5 () Realty firm Salarpuria Sattva Group has donated Rs 1 crore to PM-CARES Fund and is providing meals to 1,500 migrant workers daily to support the fight against coronavirus disease. "The group has donated Rs 1 crore towards the PM-CARES fund and simultaneously has contributed Rs 1.25 crore to the CM relief fund of Karnataka and Telangana State Medical Services &amp; Infrastructure Development Corporation," the company said in a statement. The Bengaluru-based group has also provided Rs 21 lakh to Iskcon's Akshaya Patra and Rs 5 lakh to Agarwal Samaj to feed the poor and needy during this unprecedented time. New Delhi, Apr 14 () Donation platform GiveIndia on Tuesday said it has launched the 'India COVID Response Fund' (ICRF) with initial donations worth Rs 75 crore to support the on-ground COVID relief efforts being carried out by its network of verified non-profits.Some of the early donors to the fund include the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation, Google.org, HSBC India, Omidyar Network India, UBS Optimus Foundation, Marico, Uber India (through Uber Care driver fund), Binny Bansal and A.T.E. New Delhi, Mar 31 () To help authorities and people increase preparedness against Covid-19, electronic majors Samsung and LG have pledged to offer products and protective equipment like surgeon gown, face masks, glove, refrigerators, water purifiers, among others, to hospitals. LG Electronics India on Tuesday said it has also partnered with Akshaya Patra Foundation to sponsor one million meals to migrant labourers and daily wage workers, who are struggling amid the 21-day lockdown in the country. "With the rise in confirmed cases of COVID-19, LG has taken a pledge to support India's fight against the pandemic. LG is committed to offer active support to people in need in this current situation," it said in a statement. LG Electronics India will donate products like water purifiers, air conditioners, refrigerators and TVs to the hospitals for their quarantine/isolation wards, covering 50 state and district hospitals across the country. Samsung India, on the other hand, will provide preventive kits to hospitals, which includes a surgeon gown, face mask, gloves, preventive eye wear, hood cap and shoe cover. It will also provide infra-red thermometers and public addressal systems that can be used by the authorities at hospitals and other facilities, along with air purifiers in medical facilities. The India unit of Samsung said it will also support local police by providing cooked food packets to local communities around its manufacturing facility. "Samsung is committed to work together with the people of India in this hour of difficulty. Over the last few days, our teams have engaged round-the-clock with various governments, local authorities, and healthcare professionals to prepare a broad and meaningful strategy to win this battle together," Samsung India in a statement. COVID-19 infection, which originated in Wuhan in China, has spread across the world and claimed around 34,000 lives. Countries like South Korea, Spain, Italy, Iran and the US have been badly hit. In India, the total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,251, while the death toll touched 32. To combat the spread, the government had announced a 21-day lockdown that ends on April 14. Corporate India has been rushing in to help the government and citizens fight the covid-19 pandemic in India. Tata Trusts &amp; Tata group together have pledged Rs 1,500 crore - by far the highest by any corporate. Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani has also committed a further Rs 500 crore to the Prime Minister's COVID-19 fund, topping up over the multi-crore initiative of India's first coronavirus hospital, meals to the needy, and fuel to emergency vehicles. Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Infosys, has committed Rs 100 crore, while a number of other companies are also extending support efforts towards fighting COVID-19 in India. "In these precarious and uncertain times, LG India believes in helping and supporting the Government &amp; citizen of India with a meaningful contribution. Our initiative is designed to help those in need and contribute to society, at this critical juncture in a positive way.
