The previous record of 523 was also set in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) match between SRH and Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 27. Moreover, the SRH total of 287 was the highest in IPL, and second highest in T20 history. RCB’s 262 was also the highest second innings total ever in the history of IPL. With a total of 38 sixes in the match, they equalled another record for the highest sixes in a T20 match with that of SRH Vs MI. Even before SRH and RCB took to the field, RCB fans secretly feared a massacre, given the abysmal performance of their bowling side in the championship so far this season. But the SRH batters brutally took the run-fest to unprecedented heights on Monday night, as they broke their own record of highest-ever team total in IPL set less than 20 days ago at their home ground (SRH Vs MI on March 27). <keyword id="19954195" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Travis-Head" source="keywords">Travis Head</keyword>'s explosive century (102 runs off just 41 balls, including 9 fours and 8 sixes) and Heinrich Klaasen's blazing half-century (67 runs off 31 balls, with 2 fours and 7 sixes) propelled Sunrisers to a staggering 287 for three, eclipsing their own record of 277 against MI. However, the game's momentum shifted with the introduction of leg-spinner Mayank Markande in the 7th over. Kohli's dismissal triggered a collapse, with RCB losing four wickets in quick succession, putting them under immense pressure. SRH skipper Pat Cummins led the bowling attack from the front on a challenging pitch with figures of 3/43. While du Plessis and Kohli showcased glimpses of brilliance, their efforts were overshadowed by Sunrisers' determined bowling attack. However, a spirited partnership between Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror provided some late excitement for the spectators. The 38-year-old Karthik appeared determined to contest for a spot in India’s T20 World Cup squad, as he ripped SRH bowlers apart to score 83 runs in just 35 deliveries with 5 fours and 7 sixes. Eventually, Karthik’s efforts turned too late, as RCB folded for 262 runs with the loss of 7 wickets — 25 runs short of SRH total. Earlier, Travis Head's unorthodox style proved highly effective, as he punished the RCB bowlers with ruthless efficiency. Despite Head's dismissal, Hyderabad's momentum remained intact, with Klaasen stepping up to the plate and launching a brutal assault on the opposition. Aiden Markram and Abdul Samad's late fireworks propelled Sunrisers to a record-breaking total, punctuated by an impressive 22 sixes — the highest in an IPL innings. With this loss, RCB’s chances of advancing for playoffs have turned very bleak while SRH has secured fourth position in this season’s competitive points table. SRH will face Delhi Capitals on Saturday in their next, while RCB will lock horns with KKR on Sunday.

The idea is to try and encourage the spectators to avoid using single-use plastic bottles and cups during the matches and eventually phase out the use of these items in cricket stadiums across India altogether. “The partnership aims to spread greater awareness about key environmental challenges facing the country, and highlight alternate and more sustainable solutions. The BCCI will endeavour to reduce its environmental impact by greening operations and engaging cricketers and fans in green initiatives,” said the BCCI in a statement. BCCI in collaboration with other key players in the <keyword id="6354831" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-premier-league">Indian Premier League</keyword> (<keyword id="6354312" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPL">IPL</keyword>) has already boosted their efforts to nudge spectators to avoid using plastic. In fact, during the IPL a video featuring the captains of the cricket teams was played out educating the spectators of harmful effects of plastic pollution. And a Green Protocol based on the 3Rs concept – reduce, reuse and recycle – was implemented during the four IPL matches played at the <keyword id="6455883" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="holkar-stadium">Holkar Stadium</keyword> in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. At the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru, the <keyword id="5397" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Karnataka-State-Cricket-Association">Karnataka State Cricket Association</keyword> provided environment-friendly alternatives to plastic cups and bottles for over 32,000 fans. Also, waste management firms, municipalities and non-profit organisations for the first time ever assessed the amount of plastic waste generated during the recent IPL matches and actively implemented a plan to segregate waste. Of these, Hasiru Dala Innovations, a Bengaluru-based waste management services company responsible for handling the waste generated by select food stands at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, reported a staggering approximate of seven tons of garbage being generated during 10 IPL matches held in May. And this was despite efforts being implemented to “reduce waste generation and maximize waste segregation at the stadium,” Shekar Prabhakar, managing director and founder of Hasiru Dala Innovations, told <a href="https://news.cgtn.com/news/3d3d774e31517a4e77457a6333566d54/share_p.html">CGTN</a>.

Runs came slowly from Dhawan's bat while Prabhsimran took time to settle on the pitch, which resulted in PBKS amassing just 40/1. After the game, Dhawan opened up about their struggle in the powerplay and said, "It was a good game, we brought the game back and again we lost it. We scored 10-15 runs less, in the first six overs I played a bit slow. Those 10-15 runs cost us and the dropped catch as well. I am happy with my runs but I thought I could have played a bit more fast in the first six overs, that's the only thing I felt. We lost wickets as well, we lost two wickets continuously and that put pressure on us."  In total, CSK smacked 16 sixes and 17 fours to rattle along to a massive total of 242 for 6 - second only to the 246 they scored against <keyword id="13802" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajasthan-Royals">Rajasthan Royals</keyword> in the 2010 <keyword id="6354312" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="IPL">IPL</keyword>. Not surprisingly, it was all too much for Dolphins' hit-and-miss batsmen, though they did give CSK a scare as they sped to the quickest team 50 in CLT20 history. South Africa's domestic T20 champions did well to get to 115 for 3 by the half-way mark, but the second ten overs of their innings was worth 6 for 73. 
 After the Powerplay, 70 for 1. At the halfway mark, 109 for 2. After 20 overs, 242 for 6. This is hardly what <keyword id="2530109" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Dolphins-captain">Dolphins captain</keyword> Morne van Wyk would have hoped for after he put CSK in to bat. Between the first over, in which left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj dismissed <a href="http://www.gocricket.com/player/dwayne-smith/26001/10043">Dwayne Smith</a>, and the 20th, which saw pacer Kyle Abbott concede just five singles, CSK looted 228 runs at a rate of 12.66. Of those, 90 came off 43 balls to Raina, whose blistering innings contained eight sixes as he crossed 5000 runs in T20 cricket. And therein was the foundation of CSK's success. 
 
The T20 superstar briefly played second fiddle to <a href="http://www.gocricket.com/player/brendon-mccullum/26001/6035">Brendon McCullum</a>, who launched a stinging assault on the bowling as he tore into Craig Alexander and Abbott, but once he started to tee off it was bad news for Dolphins. Raina was on 17 off 12 balls balls when McCullum was 45 off 23, but soon caught up. He drew level with McCullum on the sixes tally with a couple off Andile Phehlukwayo in the seventh over, then went one ahead with another off a Robbie Frylinck slower ball. Each of his boundary shots resonated with a ferocity rarely associated with Raina, and you got the feeling something special was brewing. 
 
Though McCullum fell to Khaya Zondo for 49, he had helped CSK draw level with the quickest century stand in the CLT20, achieved, not surprisingly, at this same ground. Raina did not blink at the departure of his partner, hitting Zondo out of the attack as he galloped to his half-century in 27 balls. Maharaj returned and was effortlessly hit for two sixes, each with deft footwork and a beautiful follow-through; Daryn Smit was swung over long-on for Raina's eighth maximum. He was eventually out to the first ugly shot played, and Frylinck added another in the over when he yorked <a href="http://www.gocricket.com/player/ms-dhoni/26001/4057">MS Dhoni </a>first ball. 
 
Faf du Plessis, whose contribution to the stand of 65 with Raina was 11, clattered three fours and a six revive CSK and Ravindra Jadeja smoked 24 off five balls in a partnership of 32 in 11 with Dwayne Bravo (11). Jadeja's 14-ball 40 was part muscle and part placement and lifted CSK to a winning total. 
 Left with a mountain to climb, Dolphins took 20 off the first over bowled by <keyword id="6357606" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ashish-Nehra">Ashish Nehra</keyword>, with left-hander Cameron Delport hitting two fours and a six. The second over produced 16 for the loss of van Wyk (17 off 7) though the Dolphins captain had reason to feel aggrieved after being given lbw by umpire K Srinath to a ball from R Ashwin that clearly pitched outside leg stump. Delport's approach of making room and slicing hard yielded a six and three fours off <keyword id="46772" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mohit-Sharma">Mohit Sharma</keyword>, as Dolphins achieved the fastest team 50 in tournament history (15 balls), but the riposte was short-lived. Playing from the crease, Delport missed a slower one from Mohit and was bowled for a nine-ball 34. 
 
Cody Chetty took a liking to Jadeja's left-arm spin and Dolphins finished the Powerplay block on 85 for 2, but too many attempts to hit out meant chances for the fielders. Maharaj slogged at Mohit and missed and Chetty (38) picked out deep midwicket off Dwayne Bravo, allowing CSK room to breathe. From here, Dolphins lost in a slew of cross-batted hits and frenetic running, bowled out for 188 in 20 overs. Mohit finished with very credible figures of 4 for 41 after conceding 20 in his first five deliveries.
