The six Vidhan Sabha seats in the Kolhapur Parliamentary constituency are Chandgad, Radhanagari, Kagal, Kolhapur South, Karvir, Kolhapur North. All these six seats are general ones and there are no reserved seats among them. During 2019 general elections for the Lok Sabha, NCP candidate won from the Kolhapur constituency. NCP’s Dhananjay Bhimrao Mahadik got a winning margin of 33,259 votes more than the runner up candidate of SHS Sanjay Sadashiv Mandalik. For the 2019 assembly elections, Rajesh Kshirsaga is being fielded from Kolhapur North on behalf of Shiv Sena. He will take against the INC candidate Chandrakant Jadhav. From the Kolhapur South seat, INC’s Ruturaj Sanjay Patil will contest with BJP’s Amal Mahadeek. Shiv Sena is fielding Chandradeep Narke from the Karvir seat who will fight against PN Patil Sadolikar of INC. The elections for the Maharashtra assembly seats are scheduled by the EC on October 21, 2019 and the results will be counted on October 24, 2019. In the 2014 general elections for the assembly, NCP’s Desai-Kupakar Sandhyadevi Krushnarao won from the Chandgad constituency winning over the SHS candidate Narsingrao Gurunath Patil with a margin of 8199 votes. The SHS candidate Aabitakar Prakash Anandarao secured 39408 votes more than the runner up candidate K.P.Patil of the NCP and won from the Radhanagari seat. From the Kagal seat, Mushrif Hasan Miyalal of NCP secured 5934 votes more than the SHS candidate Ghatage Sanjay Anandrao and became the MP. The winning MLA from the Kolhapur South constituency was Amal Mahadik of BJP who secured 8528 votes more than Patil Satej Urf Bunty D. of the INC candidate. From the Karvir Lok Sabha seat SHS candidate Narke Chandradip Shashikant won with a margin of 710 votes against the INC candidate P.N.Patil (Sakolikar). The Kolhapur North constituency voters elected Rajesh Vinayakrao Kshirsagar of the SHS who scored 22421 votes more than Kadam Satyajit Shivajirao of the INC.

Almost 20 students including him have scored 100 percentile in CAT exams this time. 
 
This BITS-Pilani student attributed his success to the number of mock tests he had taken while preparing for the test. 
 
“I completely relied on self-studies and did not take get enrolled in any coaching centres,” The Indian Express quoted Chakraborty, who is working with a private finance services company as an intern. 
 
“I took 86 mock tests for preparation and trusted almost 90 per cent on the analysis,” he said. 
 He kept the balance between his studies and CAT preparation by utilising his free time during weekends. He would attempt three mock tests in two days to gain confidence. This young lad now sees his future in entrepreneurship and aspires to pursue MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad, but not too soon. In his final year, Chakraborty got an offer from his dream company — <keyword id="574638" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="McKinsey-Company">McKinsey &amp; Company</keyword>. 
 
“I may opt for the deferred admission policy and will join the Indian Institute of Management later. I wish to become a consultant,” he said.

For this fourth year B-Tech student from College of Engineering in Pune, securing a 100 percentile in CAT in his first attempt wasn't a surprising moment. 
 
"I had been preparing for the exam for 7-8 months, and I was expecting a 100 percentile," he said. While solving test series and mocks for the CAT, Choudhari said he would always score the highest in Quant, while Verbal was his weakest area. Ironically, he secured the highest score in the Verbal section, and second highest in Quant. 
 
His word of advice to CAT aspirants is - “No matter how much ever you prepare, CAT will always be a step ahead of you. There is always an element of surprise. Do not try to solve all the questions in a set. It is sheer waste of time."

A recent case from <keyword id="19932272" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Navi-Mumbai" source="keywords">Navi Mumbai</keyword> has now come to light where aspirants were robed off Rs 1.3 crore in total. The authorities in Navi Mumbai have registered a case against six people, accused of defrauding job seekers of Rs 1.31 crore, according to officials from Kharghar police station. The accused allegedly promised clerical positions in the <keyword id="19909154" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Railways" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Indian Railways" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Indian Railways">Indian Railways</keyword> to 20 victims, collecting the funds through digital payments and cash between September 2022 and April 2023. <h2>The Scam: False promises of Railway jobs </h2> The six people, as per a PTI report, contacted the victims with guarantees of securing clerical roles in the Indian Railways. Over the course of several months, the accused collected a total of Rs 1.31 crore from the job aspirants, giving false assurances about placements. However, when the victims, all residents of the Kharghar area, began asking about their job status, the accused stopped responding and failed to return the money. One of the six accused people allegedly misappropriated the funds, using the collected money for personal purposes. It was reported that this person used the victims’ money to finance the construction of a house in Kolhapur, adding another layer of betrayal to the scam. <h2>Legal action and investigation </h2> Realising they had been duped, the victims filed a complaint with the Kharghar police. Following this, the police registered an FIR against the six accused under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 34 (acts done by several persons with common intention). The police are currently working to locate and apprehend the individuals involved. The case highlights the ongoing risk of job-related scams, where fraudsters prey on the aspirations of job seekers, especially in sectors like the Indian Railways, known for secure government jobs. <keyword id="20166561" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="swapnil-kusale" source="keywords">Swapnil Kusale</keyword>, the first Indian shooter to reach the 50m rifle three positions final at the <keyword id="19933819" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Olympics" source="keywords">Olympics</keyword>, draws inspiration from <keyword id="20214927" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="m-s-dhoni" source="keywords">M S Dhoni</keyword>, as he too is a railway <keyword id="20107836" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ticket-collector" source="keywords">ticket collector</keyword> like the cricket icon was, early in his career. The 29-year-old from Kambalwadi village near Kolhapur in Maharashtra has been competing in international events since 2012, but he had to wait another 12 years to make his Olympics debut at the Paris Games. Being calm and patient are pre-requisites for a shooter and those two traits are also the hallmark of <keyword id="19896463" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dhoni" source="keywords">Dhoni</keyword>'s personality. It is therefore no surprise that Kusale relates to Dhoni's life story. He has watched the biopic of the World Cup winner multiple times and hopes to match the lofty achievements of the champion cricketer. A top-three finish in the 50m rifle three positions final here on Thursday would certainly put Kusale in the list of high achieves in Indian sport. "I don't follow anyone specific in the shooting world. Outside of that, I admire Dhoni for the person that he is. My sport requires me to be as calm and patient as he is on the field. I also relate to his story as I am a ticket collector like he was," Kusale told PTI shortly after finishing seventh in a tightly contest qualification here. Kusale has been working for <keyword id="21895115" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Central-Railways" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Central Railways" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Central Railways">Central Railways</keyword> since 2015. His two rivals from Czech Republic also shot 590 but the Indian had the most inner 10s -- 38 -- compared to Jiri Privratsky and Petr Nymbursky, who sealed the eighth and last qualification spot. The job is half done in his debut Games and Kusale is fully aware of that. <keyword id="20241095" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="manu-bhaker" source="keywords">Manu Bhaker</keyword>'s unprecedented two medals here has also provided an extra dose of motivation. "It has been a great experience so far. I love shooting and I am glad that I have been able to do it for so long. Seeing Manu do well gives us a lot of confidence. If she can do it, we can do it too," said Kusale. National coach Manoj Kumar Ohlyan was tracking Kusale's progress from a distance and he is bullish about his chances in the final. "He is in a good frame of mind. We are hoping for the best. We just want him to perform the way he did today. He was patient. He is good technically and physically," added Ohlyan.
