Shares of <keyword id="962311" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kitex-Garments">Kitex Garments</keyword>, an exporter of childrens' clothwear, fell as much as 9 percent in early deals on Tuesday after the company reported a muted growth in its first quarter profit even as it signalled better growth ahead in the coming nine months. 

	Kitex's first quarter PAT rose to 15.9 crore rupees compared with 14.4 crore rupees in the same quarter a year ago. Sales during the April-June quarter were up a modest 6 percent to 109 crore rupees compared with 103 crore rupees a year ago. Both numbers fell below street's expectations.
 As a consequence, <keyword id="2960593" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kitek">Kitek</keyword> plunged 7.7 percent, or 77 rupees, to 917 on the <keyword id="53581" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="NATIONAL-STOCK-EXCHANGE">National Stock Exchange</keyword> on a volume of 3 lakh shares in the first 1.15 hours of trade. This volume is 3 times more than the 5-day daily average of 1.1 lakh shares. 

	Kitex said its first quarter is normally slow compared with the quarters in the year ahead and that it maintained its guidance for FY16's revenue to hit 600-650 crore rupees as it planned to double capacity in 3 years time.

On the other hand, Mahindra and Mahindra, Nestle India, TCS, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra were trading in red during early trade today. Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares noted that finally, the Index has given the much-awaited range breakout (23,970-24,420) and opened gates for 24,870; while on the flip side, the support level is shifted higher to 24,420. <keyword id="22183748" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="BankNifty" source="keywords">BankNifty</keyword> is still in the range of 49,730-50,730. We remain bullish on HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra. "Another sector which we are bullish on, with a stock-specific approach is FMCG ( Balrampur Chini, ITC, Jubilant Foodworks). After a spectacular rally, the pharma segment has formed a small bearish candle on the weekly chart. The round of correction, if any, is likely to be short-lived considering a strong bullish momentum. In the realty segment, a hidden bullish divergence was observed, defining trend continuation (DLF, Prestige Estate). Few stocks from the mid and smallcap segments appear strong on technical front namely Birla Corporation, Kitex Garments, and Avadh Sugar/PCBL/Sterling Tools", continued Gaggar. All broad market indices opened the day in green, with India VIX inching up by over 2%. Small caps and micro cap indices achieved an early lead, and were trading with gains over 1% each during trade today. As for sectoral indices, auto and IT registered marginal dips. Media, PSU banks and Oil and Gas registered gains of over 1% each.

India's top cement maker rose 0.3 percent to 2,964 rupees after second quarter net profit rose a meagre 3.1 percent to 427 crore rupees in a tepid demand environment. Sales during the second quarter gained 4.2 percent to 6,013 crore rupees. 
 <keyword id="28126" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="HCL">HCL</keyword> TECHNOLOGIES: India's 4th largest software services provider rose 1.2 percent to 851.50 rupees after its first quarter net income fell 3.2 percent to 1,726 crore rupees, in line with the market's estimates. Sales during the first quarter rose 3.3 percent to 10,097 crore rupees. 
 <keyword id="10926" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Reliance">RELIANCE</keyword> INDUSTRIES: India's largest petrochemicals maker posted its best percentage gain in one year rising 4.6 percent to 954.50 rupees after second quarter profit surged 12.5 percent to 6,720 crore rupees on sales of 75,117 crore rupees, down 34 percent. 
 
KITEX GARMENTS: Kids clothes maker Kitex rose 1.1 percent to 828 rupees after the company's 2nd quarter profit rose 41 percent to 27.2 crore rupees on sales of 134.3 crores, up 4.8 percent. 
 
PETRONET LNG: fell 2.7 percent to 184.50 rupees after the company reported 2nd quarter profit slipped 5.3 percent to 249 crore rupees.

With 11 Indian companies ranked among top 200 Asia Pacific corporations in <keyword id="245051" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Forbes-Asia">Forbes Asia</keyword>'s 'Best Under A Billion' list, India was ranked fourth on the list after <keyword id="5565" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="South-Korea">South Korea</keyword> which has 17 firms in the coveted list. 

	The list covers public companies with annual revenue of $5 million to $1 billion, Forbes said, adding that they should also have positive net income and should be publicly traded for at least a year. 
 
 The Indian companies that made it to the list include <keyword id="2075166" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="avanti-feeds-ltd">Avanti Feeds Ltd</keyword>, Borosil Glass Works, Byke Hospitality, Caplin Point Laboratories, Centum Electronics, Kaveri Seed, Kitex Garments, NGL Fine-Chem, Orbit Exports, Premco Global and Vakrangee. 

	Of the 200 companies, 123 are new to the list, which underscores the "dynamism of the region's small and medium-sized sector", Forbes said. 
 

	Companies from mainland China &amp; Hong Kong (84) as well as Taiwan (36) dominated this year's list accounting for 60 per cent of the top 200 publicly-traded companies in the Asia Pacific region. 

	India and Malaysia both have 11 companies on the list while Australia has nine firms. This year, Japan dropped out of the top five countries, with only eight companies compared to 15 last year. 
 <keyword id="6356662" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Singapore">Singapore</keyword> and Thailand were represented by six companies each, while Pakistan had by 2 companies. "The secret to making the BUB is consistent growth in the measured performance metrics. One off year and you are out," Forbes Asia Editor <keyword id="2918973" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tim-Ferguson">Tim Ferguson</keyword> said, adding that "it is also important to have a good, liquid channel for public stock offerings".

11 Indian companies in Forbes Asia’s under a billion list

Stocks had a modest uptick on Thursday morning thanks to a positive close on Wall Street and two days of holidays in Chinese markets, which kept bad news at bay.
 

	The<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=+Nifty"> Nifty</a> rose 73 points to 7,789 in early deals, snapping a 4-day down draft of relentless selling. Ambuja Cement, ACC, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel and Tata Motors were the top gainers on the Index. Idea Cellular, Hind Unilever, Lupin, GAIL and Coal India lost ground. The Advance-Decline Ratio was 44/6 on the <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword>. 

	<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Infosys">Infosys</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=DLF">DLF</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=State+Bank+of+India">State Bank of India</a> were the top traded stocks on the National Stock Exchange and it was a rare day that all three traded in positive territory.
 

	Broader market indices also showed modest gains. All sectorial indices were up in the first half hour of trade. Stocks in Japan and Korea edged higher. Chinese markets are shut for two days of local holidays 
 

	The mood was cautiously optimistic on the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bombay+Stock+Exchange">Bombay Stock Exchange</a> where the Sensex gained 180 points to 25,663 levels. Tata Motors lead the gainers with M&amp;M, Hindalco, ITC and ONGC also making it to the list. Lupin, TCS and GAIL were under selling pressure.
 <keyword id="6354731" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="State-Bank-Of-India">State Bank of India</keyword>, Tata Motors and ICICI Bank were the top traded stocks on the Sensex. Bulls made tentative purchases in the futures and options segment even as the bears covered their short positions. Front month Nifty futures gained 71 points to 7,813 points. <keyword id="6362997" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="DLF">DLF</keyword>, Tata Motors DVR, HDIL and IB Real Estate were top gaining futures while Glenmark, Coal India, Idea and Kaveri Seed posted losses. 

	Aptech, Repco Home Finance, Bayer Crop Science and Kitex Garments made it to the list of volume buzzers on the NSE while Mahindra &amp; Mahindra was a major stock that figured on the list of 52-week lows on the exchange.

Here's how the Markets opened today

Indian stocks rose for the third day in a row on Monday as traders ramped up heavyweight Reliance Industries Ltd. after stellar jump in its second quarter earnings. Realty, Pharma, Infrastructure and Telecom stocks were in demand on the exchanges. 
 The Nifty rose 37 points to end the day at 8,275 after a tepid start of trade. Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, Dr. Reddy's, <keyword id="6365619" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hindustan-UniLever">Hindustan Unilever</keyword> and HCL Tech were the top five gainers on the index while ONGC, Adani Ports, UltraTech, <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> and Tata Steel slipped in trade on the Nifty whose Advance-Decline Ratio stood at 24/26. 
 Reliance Industries, <keyword id="6358200" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jet-Airways">Jet Airways</keyword> and HCL Tech were the top three traded counters on the NSE. 
 
Broader markets were firm with the CNX 100, CNX 200 and the CNX 500 benchmarks rising nearly 0.5 percent each. Gains were higher on the Mid Cap and the Small Cap benchmarks. The trend was mixed on the sectoral indices space with smart gains seen on the CNX Energy and CNX Realty indices. Strong uptrends were also visible on the CNX Pharma and the CNX Media space. 
 Sentiment was strong on the Bombay Stock Exchange as well with the Sensex gaining 150 points, or 0.6 percent, to 27,365 points. Cipla, TCS, Hero Motor and Sun Pharma were among the top gainers while ONGC, <keyword id="6653" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="ICICI-bank">ICICI Bank</keyword>, Wipro and State Bank slipped on the Sensex where the Advance-Decline Ratio stood at 16/14. 
 
Reliance Industries, Tata Motors and Maruti were the top traded counters on the Index. 
 
The bulls were in control of the wider market as well with 1,569 stocks gaining ground compared with 1,154 that fell below their Friday's close. 
 The trend was strong in the derivatives space with futures of mid caps such as IFCI, Amtek Auto and IB Real Estate surging sharply. Profit booking was seen on <keyword id="126171" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="LIC-Housing">LIC Housing</keyword> Finance, Adani Enterprises and Crompton Greaves Futures. Overall, 77 futures fell compared with 85 that rose. 
 
Thangamyil Jewellery, Heritage Foods, Dalmia Bharat and Kitex Garments made it to the top volume buzzers list.
