<keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword>, the online marketplace headquartered in New Delhi, has decided against renewing the contract of actor <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>, who was signed as the brand ambassador. Khan’s one-year contract with the e-commerce giant is coming to an end later this month. 
 
"It was extendable by a year but the company decided against it," one of the persons aware of the matter told ET. Sources also hint that Khan might not even be replaced by another celebrity because the company is looking forward to rationalise ad expenditure and focus instead on repeat customers and enhancing shopping categories. It also aims to try and encourage its buyers to shop through its FreeCharge wallet. 
 
The move has come after Khan was in controversy regarding <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Aamir-Khan-says-India-is-unlivable-increasingly-intolerant-His-wife-suggested-moving-out-of-India/articleshow/49904391.cms">some comments</a> he made about the growing intolerance in the country. These comments had led to a storm of protest against the popular actor. 
 
The controversy had made <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Aamir-Khans-intolerance-remark-Flipkarts-Sachin-Bansal-comes-to-Snapdeals-rescue/articleshow/49926701.cms">Snapdeal stop using Khan</a> in its TVCs and other advertising media, as compared to the abundance of ads he did before the controversy, featuring in the '<keyword id="3153272" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dil-ki-Deal">Dil Ki Deal</keyword>' campaign. 
 
Some protestors who were angry with the actor’s remarks had also uninstalled Snapdeal's app, which could have led the company to distance itself from him. 
 
The intolerance remarks made by Khan have cost him not one but two campaigns, as last month, he was also replaced by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Its-official-Amitabh-Bachchan-and-Priyanka-Chopra-are-the-new-faces-of-the-Incredible-India-campaign/articleshow/50667383.cms">Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra</a> as the brand ambassador of the Incredible India campaign. He was associated with the campaign since 2009. 
 Talking of the controversy, the actor had said that his wife <keyword id="6371156" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="kiran-rao">Kiran Rao</keyword> was feeling insecure about the growing intolerance in the country and had suggested moving out for the safety of their son Azad Rao Khan. Aamir Khan's contract with Snapdeal ends this month, renewal not in sight

Taking a dig at actor Aamir Khan over his much-hyped intolerance remarks, Home Minister <keyword id="6355121" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajnath-Singh">Rajnath Singh</keyword>'s has paid a fitting tribute to BR Ambedkar, the father of the Constitution. 
 
"(BR Ambedkar) had to go through condemnation, insult and barbs, but he controlled his emotion and put forth and took an objective view for India. He never said how he was being ignored and insulted in India. He said I will stay in India and keeping India's values and culture in mind, I will strengthen the country," Mr Singh was quoted saying, as he was opening a special discussion on the Constitution in Parliament, being held to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar. 
 
The whole debate started when actor Aamir Khan gave a statement that hinted at his wife Kiran Rao’s growing fear because of the increasingly violent environment in the country. 
 
"When I chat with Kiran at home, she says, 'should we move out of India?' That's a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm," he had said. 
 
However, after being criticized and trolled for his comments, the actor clarified his stand in a Facebook post that went like this.

After Bollywood’s superstar Shah Rukh Khan raised the issue that there was intolerance in the country, latest to join him is actor <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>. 
 
Aamir, while speaking at an award ceremony of a news daily, said his wife Kiran Rao had asked if they should move out of the country, as she feared for the safety of their children in a climate of insecurity. 
 
Following the Dadri lynching case, many people have raised their concerns over intolerance and sparked debates. So much so that writers, academicians, historians, etc even returned their awards. 
 
“There is an increased sense of despondency over the past 6-8 months. Important that those in power strongly condemn what's wrong. Historians, scientists have had a view to express. Returning awards is one way of getting your point across," said Aamir. 
 
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in UK, had said that there was no place in intolerance in the country. 
 
"Any event in any corner of India - it doesn't matter if there are even one or two incidents - we will not tolerate it and the law will deal with it strictly. India is a vibrant democracy where the lives, views and thoughts of ordinary citizens are protected under the Constitution. We are committed to this," Modi had said in the UK. 
 
However, Aamir’s statement was slammed by another Bollywood actor Anupam Kher. 
 
He took to microblogging site Twitter and condemned Aamir’s remarks on intolerance in India.

Before joining Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, he'd been a medical doctor who worked with the World Health Organization and a principal at a consulting firm.One day after joining Bridgewater, he was sitting in a meeting with 200 other employees when an announcement was made. Everyone was would be shown a list that ranked the people in the room according to their performance."Some of the people in this room probably shouldn't be here," the person presenting the list said.Sure enough, there was Rao's name - the worst performer on the list.Rao recounted this story - in fact, he shared the recording from the meeting - on the first episode of "<a href="https://www.ted.com/read/ted-podcasts/worklife">WorkLife with Adam Grant</a>," a new podcast hosted by the Wharton professor Adam Grant.Rao was able to share the recording because almost all meetings are recorded at Bridgewater, a company that's by now well known for its culture of "radical transparency."As Business Insider's Richard Feloni <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/bridgewater-ray-dalio-succession-radically-transparent-culture-2016-3">has reported</a>, Bridgewater employees constantly <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/bridgewater-ray-dalio-radical-transparency-app-dots-2017-9">rate and critique</a> each other's performance. Dalio said that if your objective is to be as good as possible - if you care about results more than your image - you'll want criticism of your performance.<h2>It's unclear that public rankings motivate everyone at every company</h2>On the podcast episode, Grant mentioned that research suggests ranking employees can be demotivating. It could depend on the specific work environment.In one <a href="https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2594258">2016 study</a> from New York University and Columbia Business School (not mentioned on the podcast), researchers looked at the effect of performance ranking among truck drivers. Results showed that drivers who were told to emphasize teamwork performed worse after the rankings were posted, while drivers who had not been told to emphasize teamwork performed better.Rao told Grant that learning he was the worst manager was like "dressing for the beach one day in flip flops and your swimwear and you swing your door open and you're in a full-force winter storm." But, he added, "I felt great."On the recording, you can hear Rao introduce himself to the group and say that he agrees he should be in this spot. "This leaves me more energized versus not," he says. The feedback motivated him to either improve - or leave.Rao is still a manager at Bridgewater.Rao more or less echoed what Dalio said. Bollywood royalty shine at star-studded premiere of 'The Archies'

Mumbai, May 4 () Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Madhuri Dixit Nene among others turned signers for a digital concert to raise funds for the frontliners working round-the-clock to contain the coronavirus pandemic in the country.Facebook collaborated with some of the biggest names in Indian entertainment industry and Hollywood names like Mick Jagger, Will Smith and Sophie Turner to put together a home-to-home fundraiser concert, 'I For India' on Sunday.The line-up was introduced by filmmakers Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar, with Akshay Kumar kick-starting the concert with a poem penned by lyricist Manoj Muntashir, titled "Tumse Ho Nahi Payega."It was followed by Aamir and his director-wife Kiran Rao, who said it was important in current times to extend support to the needy."But most importantly, to not leave hope," Aamir said, urging people to donate for the frontline workers. The duo then sang classics such as "Aa Chalke Tujhe Main Leke Chalun" and "Jeena Isika Naam Hai".Shah Rukh closed the concert with a song composed by rapper Badshah and penned by lyricist Saini. Titled "Sab Sahi Ho Jayega", the song is about the perils of being locked up inside homes and the hope that sooner or later the world will be coronavirus free. "Everybody who knows me knows that I cannot sing to save my life. So thank you for taking a chance on me, everybody. Tiger Shroff, known for his dance moves and action films, sang "Theher Ja Tu Kisi Bahane Se" and the classic "Roop Tera Mastana". By the end of the 4 hour 20 minute-long concert, over Rs 3 crore were raised. COVID-19: Actors, musicians and sports personalities to come together for fundraiser concert

<div class="KonaFilter image-container"><div class="image"><a href="http://www.airbus.com/broadcastroom/page-broadcastroom-detail.php?id=0_rstbigqo">Screenshot/Airbus video</a>The new Airbus A330neo is an updated version of the A330.</div></div>Coinciding with this week's <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/what-to-see-at-farnborough-airshow-2014-7">Farnborough Airshow in Britain</a>, Airbus Group announced Monday that it would launch an updated version of its A330 passenger jet called the Airbus A330neo (new engine option). The plane is being hailed by Airbus as more efficient and reliable than earlier versions, <a href="http://www.cnet.com/news/with-a330neo-airbus-gives-new-life-to-an-older-jet/">reports CNET</a>.
Monday's announcement from Airbus included revamps of two medium-haul models, which are intended to compete with Boeing's new <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/boeing-787-dreamiliner-delievry-monday-pictures-2011-9">787 Dreamliner</a>. The 280-passenger Boeing 787-9 variant will also make an appearance at Farnborough this week.
The two new models are essentially old A330 planes with new Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines that will increase the plane's range by 400 nautical miles, as well as wings with aerodynamic "sharklet" winglets at the tips, adapted from Airbus' A350 XWB. The 210-foot wingspan is 12 feet wider than the wingspan of the original A330.<div class="KonaFilter image-container"><div class="image"><a href="http://www.airbus.com/broadcastroom/page-broadcastroom-detail.php?id=0_rstbigqo">Screenshot/Airbus video</a>The plane features Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines that increase the plane's range by 400 nautical miles.</div></div>Those upgrades will allow the A330neo to reduce fuel consumption by 14% per seat on a 4,600-mile trip compared with today's A330, making its fuel economy equivalent to the 787, Airbus claims.
Thanks to a redesigned cabin, the A330-900neo will fit up to 310 seats, allowing for 10 more passengers than today's A330, while the smaller-fuselage A330-800neo will seat six additional passengers for a total of 252 seats.<div class="KonaFilter image-container"><div class="image">AirbusThe A330neo has a 12-foot wider wingspan and "sharklet" wingtips.</div></div>Passengers in economy class will find 18-inch wide seats, compared to 16.9-inch-wide seats on the Boeing 787. The modernized interior will allow passengers to enjoy full-LED mood lighting, Wifi connectivity, and 3D films. 
The company can offer the A330neo at "very very attractive pricing," because it is cheaper to operate, said Airbus Chief Operating Officer John Leahy. And thanks to lower maintenance costs and a higher passenger count, it will be competitive in price with the 787, Kiran Rao, Airbus executive vice president of strategy and marketing, said <a href="http://www.airbus.com/broadcastroom/page-broadcastroom-detail.php?id=0_rstbigqo">in a video on the company's website</a>. <div class="KonaFilter image-container"><div class="image">Courtesy AirbusThe Airbus A330neo fits up to 310 seats, thanks to a redesigning of the lavatories and crew galley areas. </div></div>The A330neo is expected to replace Airbus' 276-seat A350-800, the smallest of the three A350 XWB variants, which has suffered disappointingly modest sales with only 34 orders so far, <a href="http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-07-14/why-airlines-shunned-the-smallest-airbus-a350">reports Bloomberg Businessweek</a>.
The reason for the A350-800's underperformance may be the fact that its shrunken size is not as economical. It would cost the same amount to fly the A350-800 as the larger A350-900, although the latter variant can bring in greater revenue thanks to space for 39 more seats, according to Businessweek.<div class="KonaFilter image-container"><div class="image">Courtesy AirbusAmenities include full-LED mood lighting, Wifi connectivity, and 3D films. </div></div> Airbus expects to deliver the A330-900neo by December 2017, followed by the A330-800neo in early 2018. Boeing representatives didn't seem too fazed in comments about the new Airbus launch. Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing for Boeing's commercial airplane division called Airbus' claim of 14% better fuel efficiency "extraordinarily optimistic," according to CNET.<div class="KonaFilter image-container"><div class="image"><a href="http://www.airbus.com/broadcastroom/page-broadcastroom-detail.php?id=0_rstbigqo">Screenshot/Airbus video</a>Airbus expects to deliver the first A330neo planes by the end of 2017.</div></div>"It is an older technology airplane that is being improved," <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/r-airbus-revamps-a330-jet-in-long-haul-battle-with-boeing-2014-14">Boeing co-CEO Jim McNerney told CNBC</a>. "It will compete with brand new technology airplanes that we've got across a wide spectrum of widebodies. We feel highly confident in our new technology line that is already in place as it competes against a refurbished A330."
