Out of the total, 16,485 prisoners are male, and 645 prisoners are female.</li></ul>One in every five men prisoner serving punishment at India's largest and notorious jail, Tihar Ashram, returned in 2018, r<a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/delhi-news/1500-vs-none-no-woman-on-tihar-jail-s-repeat-offenders-list-in-the-last-2-years/story-D1LlfjpM4haKc9ZsFmrE6H.html">eported Hindustan Times. </a> Last year, as many as 1537 male prisoners returned to jail for committing different crimes, down from 1978 in 2017. And there was not a single woman prisoner who was convicted again. Prison officials believe that most of the prisoners come back because they aren't accepted in the society. When <keyword id="6354361" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kiran-Bedi">Kiran Bedi</keyword> (a retired IPS officer and currently the lieutenant governor of Puducherry) was the head of the prison, the percentage of male prisoners returning to jail had reduced to about 9%. “This was made possible by involving all prisoners in the jail’s programmes and working for their rehabilitation.” Hindustan Times<a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/delhi-news/1500-vs-none-no-woman-on-tihar-jail-s-repeat-offenders-list-in-the-last-2-years/story-D1LlfjpM4haKc9ZsFmrE6H.html"> reported citing Sunil Gupta, Tihar's law officer.</a> There are 17,130 prisoners in Tihar jail as of August 1, 2019. Out of the total, 16,485 prisoners are male, and 645 prisoners are female. Problem of Overcrowding India's capital has about 16 jails with a sanctioned capacity of 10,026. However, the prisons are mostly overcrowded. <a href="http://tte.delhigovt.nic.in/wps/wcm/connect/lib_centraljail/Central+Jail/Home/Prisoner+Profile">According to government data,</a> prison population has increased by 2.23% during 2018 and 2017. In 2017, the prisons were running 154.27% above their sanctioned capacity.

At Tihar jail, one in every five male prisoner comes back as society shuns them

As per early trends, congress is leading the only Lok Sabha seat. IndiaToday-AxisMyIndia exit polls 2019 predicts that Mayavati’s BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) is set to win from 16 seats in Uttar Pradesh. This number is the total seats the party will get in the state along with its allies SP and RLD. IN 2019 elections, BSP nominated its candidates from 38 seats. As per the seat sharing arrangement, SP contested from 37 seats and RLD faced the elections from 3 seats. Mayavati has chosen not to contest in 2019 Lok Sabha elections in order to focus more on the election campaign for the victory of her Mahagathbandhan. As per the Chanakya-News24 Exit Poll, the BSP- SP and RLD coalition might win 13 out of 80 seats with over 65 seats predicted for the BJP from the state and just 2 seats predicted for the Congress party. Uttar Pradesh state has the largest number of parliamentary seats in the country numbering 80 in total. In 2014 elections for the Lok Sabha, BSP could not get a single seat in UP. In 2009 elections, BSP got 20 seats from UP leaving BJP with just 10 seats. In 2004 and 1999 Lok Sabha elections, the results gave the party 19 seats and 14 seats respectively. Talking of the vote share in 2014 elections, BSP had got 19.6 % votes in the state while the BJP had got 42.3 % votes. Some of the key candidates like Haji Fazulrahman contested for Saharanpur seat, Girish Chandra was nominated by the party from Nagina (SC) and Amar Chandra Jauhar faced the elections from Shahjahanpur (SC). While nominating their candidates as per the seat sharing agreement, BSP and SP gave two seats for RLD. These two parties have decided not to contest in the two constituencies of Amethi and Raebareli from where the Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are contesting.

Here are the 25 most influential people on LinkedIn in India

Ed-tech startup <keyword id="6630114" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Unacademy">Unacademy</keyword> raised $1 million in the latest funding round and was backed by Flipkart's <keyword id="225032" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sachin-Bansal">Sachin Bansal</keyword>, Binny Bansal, Paytm's <keyword id="198636" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vijay-Shekhar-Sharma">Vijay Shekhar Sharma</keyword>, and FreeCharge's <keyword id="192201" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kunal-Shah">Kunal Shah</keyword>. 
 The funding round was led by <keyword id="592779" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Blume-Ventures">Blume Ventures</keyword>, Stanford Angels India, WaterBridge Ventures, Traxcn Labs and a clutch of other angels, including Sandeep Tandon and Ashish Tulsian.

Unacademy is an education-technology based startup that allows educators to create courses on the platform. 
 Puducherry <keyword id="3547504" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="lg-kiran-bedi">LG Kiran Bedi</keyword> is also an educator on the platform. 
 
"Within two months, the Unacademy Create app will be made available to all, so anyone across the world can create lessons in any language they like. After a thorough screening process, we will make the relevant lessons available on our platform that will be free for all to see," said Chief Executive Gaurav Munjal, who started Unacademy along with Roman Saini. 
 
To become an educator on Unacademy, you have to go through an interview process and the selection is based on their experience. 
 
Once selected, the educators create video courses of not more than 10 minutes on its platform, which are available to students for free. 
 
"In a short span of eight months, the founding team has proved that leveraging technology to empower its educators and students is a problem that can be solved effectively at scale," said Flipkart’s Sachin Bansal. 
 
The startup claims to have more than 300,000 students for over 2,400 online lessons and specialised courses through the platform. 
"The product is designed for both lightweight production and consumption-in that it's ingenious. This can change learning to an entirely different plane and kill a lot of ine ective institutional frameworks," said Karthik Reddy, Managing Partner, Blume Ventures.

Unacademy just raised $1 million and these are the top Indian entrepreneurs that backed this ed-tech startup

NEW DELHI: A tweet by former BJP chief and party in charge of Delhi <keyword id="26680" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Nitin-gadkari">Nitin Gadkari</keyword> saying "Dilli chunav ke liye BJP taiyyar, Kejriwal ke mukable <keyword id="6354361" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Kiran-Bedi">Kiran Bedi</keyword> hongi CM candidate (BJP ready for Delhi polls, Kiran Bedi will be CM candidate against Kejriwal)" caused a flutter in party circles on Tuesday, with leaders and spokespersons distancing themselves from the comment. 
 With <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> elections in full swing, and the Delhi assembly polls not too far away, Gadkari's tweet that Bedi would be the party's chief ministerial candidate could cause major trouble for the already faction-ridden state unit in Delhi. 
 
While Gadkari could not be contacted, some in BJP said his Twitter account had been hacked and there was some mischief behind the post. 
 The <keyword id="153361" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="delhi-bjp">Delhi BJP</keyword> unit has not been able to overcome its factional fights between groups owing allegiance to <keyword id="196226" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Harsh-Vardhan">Harsh Vardhan</keyword> and <keyword id="81821" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Vijay-Goel">Vijay Goel</keyword>. Bedi, who is known to be close to BJP leaders, has not joined the party and proposing her name implies bringing an outsider for the post of Delhi CM. That could only lead to fresh infighting in the state unit.

Nepal Earthquake: This is how

Puducherry, June 20 () The opposition AIADMK on Saturday urged Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi to immediately order a probe by the CBI into the violation of Excise rules allegedly by private liquor-bottling units here. Leader of the legislature wing of the party A Anbalagan told reporters that a memorandum seeking the inquiry has been submitted to the Lieutenant Governor. He alleged some private distilleries were using fake holograms and evading excise duty. "The territorial government has lost revenue by such malpractices," he said.
