Now, NDMC has rolled out Khan Markets plans and people can register themselves using their mobile number and e-mail ids. Then a one-time password (OTP) is sent to the customer and they can access the internet for a short duration. If one wants to use this service further then one has to pay a nominal charge. Wi-Fi Internet scratch cards are available at various shops in the market, which the customers can purchase and use. 
 
The project has been running successfully in Khan Market since the past few days. However, Connaught Place is where the council is still not up yet. N-Block in Connaught Place is the only area where this service has been deployed properly and the rest of areas are underway to get Wi-Fi services. 
 
CP is much larger than Khan Market, hence the council is taking some extra time. Also, NDMC does not want the internet wires hanging from pole to pole. They will use the underground system for this, which is why they are taking more time.

Khan Market In Delhi Is The First Market To Deploy Free

New Delhi, Nov 24 () Delhi's upscale Khan Market has moved up one position to become the world's 20th most expensive retail location, according to global property consultant Cushman &amp; Wakefield.
 In its latest report 'Main Streets Across the World 2019', the consultant said that Khan market is ranked 20th in the list of the most expensive retail locations with an annual rent of USD 243 per sq ft. Last year, Khan market was at 21st place with a rent of USD 237 per sq ft a year. 
 Causeway Bay in Hong Kong retains the number one ranking, commanding an annual rent of USD 2,745 per sq ft. 
 New York's Upper 5th Avenue is at second position (USD 2,250 per sq ft), followed by London's New Bond Street (USD 1,714 per sq ft) and Avenue des Champs Elysees in Paris (USD 1,478 per sq ft). 
 Via Montenapoleone in Milan, Italy ranks fifth with an annual rent of USD 1,447 per sq ft, the report said. 
 The rankings are based on rentals during the second quarter of 2019 calendar year. The Cushman &amp; Wakefield report tracked 448 locations across 68 countries.
 On the India market, the report said that "rental trends over the past year have largely been pointing upwards, with the lack of availability in the best shopping malls pushing more brands to seek out prominent, high footfall locations in the main commercial corridors".
 While high street rents in the bigger cities of Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru have experienced only marginal increases, other cities such as Chennai, Pune and Kolkata, which have a more vibrant high street culture, have recorded much stronger rental uplift, it added.
 The consultant highlighted that the growth sectors include food and beverage (F&amp;B), clothing and accessories, along with hypermarkets and e-commerce retailers opening physical stores. 
 Some large store formats are also experimenting with standalone outlets close to key commercial and residential markets along major roads, it said.
 The short-term outlook is upbeat, with rents expected to edge up in the major high streets where supply remains constrained, the report said. MJH RVK

The so-called "echo-boom" generation (18 to 30 years old) hits the prime age for renters (20 to 29 years old). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there were 44 million people in the prime renter age group in 2012. With this younger age cohort having a higher propensity to rent, especially with lending standards still relatively tight and the large burden of student loan debt, rental demand should remain robust. 
Some markets are probably seeing overly strong supply growth. Khan charts metros where projected completions as a percent of stock is greatest:

<ul class="summary-list"><li>FTC chair Lina Khan said there seems to be something "deeply broken" about Hollywood.</li><li>She blamed the industry's market structure and suggested consolidation had weakened competition.</li></ul>FTC chair <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ftc-chair-lina-khan-antitrust-critic-big-tech-amazon-2021-6">Lina Khan</a> made some recent comments that should trouble anyone in the TV and movie business.In particular, when speaking on a <a target="_blank" href="https://open.spotify.com/episode/62qDAFAbcBEPxUt2ay0LLt?go=1&amp;sp_cid=19ebded0b4bbfc7a6416a93e7209db91&amp;utm_source=embed_player_p&amp;utm_medium=desktop&amp;nd=1">recent podcast</a> from The Ankler, Khan seemed to take the position that Hollywood was already being hurt by unfair market conditions caused by consolidation. She also suggested that her agency would look unfavorably on further concentration of power in the sector.This, I believe, is a fundamental misinterpretation of the problems that Hollywood is facing — and fails to recognize that media companies may need to bulk up even further to compete with <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-netflix-is-changing-the-entertainment-industry-2021-8">Netflix</a> and the tech giants, so they can transition to a streaming model without destroying themselves in the process.Khan said on the podcast that there seems to be something "deeply broken" about the dynamics of Hollywood in the age of streaming and suggested the culprit was "market structure."She described the combination of consolidation and vertical integration as having seemingly created a "market structure where we hear about how <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hollywood-writers-strike-wga-picket-lines-streamers-studios-netflix-disney-2023-5">writers and producers and showrunners are all making less</a>, even as companies are charging customers more."She continued on to say that "unless those market structure questions are addressed, it seems like potentially some of these power imbalances will persist."Lightshed analysts Rich Greenfield, Brandon Ross, and Mark Kelley wrote an insightful <a target="_blank" href="https://lightshedtmt.com/2023/08/24/lina-khan-does-not-understand-the-media-biz/">post</a> that lays out several criticisms of Khan's positions.But I'd like to focus on one in particular: Consolidation isn't what's ailing Hollywood.Hollywood is currently being walloped by two trends: People are abandoning both cable TV and movie theaters. In response, the major players like Disney, Comcast, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Paramount Global are burning billions of dollars to create their own streaming services. They are navigating a tech transition that would be painful under any conditions, but is made doubly so by the fact that they are chasing first-mover Netflix and facing competition from deep-pocketed tech companies like Apple and Amazon.Oh, and they have to contend with a whole other wave of competitors for audiences' attention and time: creators on YouTube, TikTok, and more. Nearly <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tiktok-user-average-age-united-states-adult-past-college-ceo-2023-3">60% of Gen-Z adults in the US use TikTok every day</a>, according to research earlier this year by Morning Consult.In this environment, consolidation among media companies might be needed just to keep their heads above water. These companies are also, contrary to Khan's assertion, not charging consumers more, but rather charging them less compared to the old model. Sure, Disney recently announced a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/disney-hiking-prices-for-disney-plus-hulu-was-inevitable-2023-8">price hike for Disney+ and Hulu</a>, but it came from an irrationally low starting point that was meant to spur subscriber growth as fast as possible.Looking broadly at the market, I wrote this week that you could get a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/streaming-still-cheap-deal-despite-netflix-disney-plus-price-hikes-2023-8">bundle of all the top streaming services for under $50</a>. That's a far cry from the cable TV ecosystem (which, for that matter, was a better example of an unfair market). If they're being honest, consumers have nothing to complain about when it comes to the breadth and accessibility of filmed entertainment available to them now.The TV and movie market feels like a roller coaster right now because it's in a state of flux. The question we should be asking is: What does a healthy market look like on the other side of this disruptive transition? Now, if Khan wants to try and block Apple or Amazon from buying a media company, great! I, for one, would be sad to see Hollywood become just another feather in Big Tech's cap. And it would likely be terrible for competition.But if Comcast, WBD, Paramount Global, or even Disney try to consolidate to better compete with Netflix and the tech giants, antitrust action could just end up handing those Silicon Valley heavyweights more power.And I worry that if Khan thinks the market structure in Hollywood is already broken, it suggests any significant media merger is likely to be challenged. That could be a big mistake.

Snap's stock falls in pre-market as its chief strategy officer quits 'to pursue other opportunities'

Bollywood’s Dabbang superstar <keyword id="6354583" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword> has been convicted in the 13 year old hit and run case. And this sure ain’t good news for the brands that he endorses. 
	 “This verdict impacts both brand Salman Khan and the brands that he is associated with differently. As far as the brand Salman Khan is concerned, it will definitely be adversely impacted,” said brand expert <keyword id="175362" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Harish-Bijoor">Harish Bijoor</keyword>, CEO of Bijoor Consults. 
	 
	He explained that Khan’s huge fan following will be hit and his hero status will get affected. “A lot of his fans would have really preferred him to own up his mistake in the court of law. Instead, he has tried to fight it legally, which will not be taken down well by many of his followers,” added Bijoor. 
	 
	Talking about his brand endorsements, he feels that the brands he endorses will not be impacted much as consumers are mature and realise that it is advertising. “I see over 90% of the brands moving away from Salman Khan,” averred Bijoor. 
	 However, adman <keyword id="132751" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Naresh-Gupta">Naresh Gupta</keyword>, managing partner with Bang in the Middle feels otherwise. I don’t see the brands dumping Salman Khan immediately, for all of them signed him up knowing fully well that he has cases pending against him. His equity will be impacted in long term, as the news of his sentencing starts to build up. He would have a small phase of sympathy, but it will start to peter out. Long term his equity will definitely take a knock This is not the only case pending, the blackbuck one too is pending,” he said. 
	 It should be noted that currently, Salman Khan has over Rs 200 crore riding on him through his film projects. According to market estimates, his brand endorsements are pegged at nearly Rs 50 crore. “On <keyword id="1432297" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Times-Celebex">Times Celebex</keyword> , Khan is among the top 5, so he has a very strong following. His following in mass market will be even higher looking at how his movies do,” suggested Gupta. 
	 
	As per Times Celebex 2015 list, Salman Khan has the highest box office collections and is also the most searched Bollywood star online. Among the brand endorsements, Salman Khan ranks fifth with 10 brands in his kitty.
