New Delhi, The <keyword id="19914482" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aap" source="keywords">AAP</keyword> on Friday claimed the CBI is planning to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind <keyword id="19895701" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kejriwal" source="keywords">Kejriwal</keyword> in the next few days and will serve him a notice by the evening. While the party did not say in which case Kejriwal is likely to be arrested, it said that this was being done to prevent the AAP from stitching an alliance with the Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as the <keyword id="19894848" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bjp" source="keywords">BJP</keyword> is scared of the two parties coming together. While there was no immediate response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to the AAP's claims, the BJP said AAP leaders are trying to create confusion and generate sympathy for Kejriwal. The Congress and the AAP are likely to have a seat-sharing pact in Delhi, Gujarat and Haryana for the Lok Sabha polls and the talks between the two sides are in the final stages, sources said on Thursday. Addressing a press conference here, Delhi cabinet minister and senior AAP leader <keyword id="19945966" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="saurabh-bharadwaj" source="keywords">Saurabh Bharadwaj</keyword> said as soon as reports of finalisation of seat-sharing talks between the Congress and the AAP started coming in, the ED sent a seventh summons to Kejriwal in the excise policy case. "We have learnt from reliable sources that the CBI is planning to arrest Kejriwal. The CBI will also serve a notice to Kejriwal either this afternoon or by the evening," Bharadwaj said. Kejriwal will be arrested in the next two to three days, he said. "We are getting messages that if the AAP-Congress alliance is formed, Arvind Kejriwal will be arrested. The BJP is scared of the AAP-Congress alliance. You can arrest Kejriwal if you want, but the alliance will be forged," he said. The Enforcement Directorate has issued a fresh summons to Kejriwal asking him to appear before it for questioning in the Delhi excise policy-linked money laundering case on February 26, sources said on Thursday. This is the seventh summons issued by the ED to the chief minister, who skipped the previous six. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak said people will take to the streets if Kejriwal is arrested. "There will be a tsunami. Their (BJP) political calculations will go wrong. We are not scared of being arrested. We are forging this alliance for the country," he said. Delhi BJP president <keyword id="20040814" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="virendra-sachdeva" source="keywords">Virendra Sachdeva</keyword> said Kejriwal knows that the talks on the AAP's alliance with the Congress are failing but AAP leaders have been spreading rumours since Thursday and are trying to generate sympathy for the chief minister. "Kejriwal may delay his punishment with the help of lawyers but ultimately, the people of Delhi will punish him harshly in the coming elections," the BJP leader said. The AAP and Kejriwal should remember that Congress leader Ajay Maken had submitted the first written complaint to the lieutenant governor regarding the liquor "scam" under his government, Sachdeva said. The BJP won all the seven seats in Delhi with 51 per cent votes in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and 59 per cent in 2019. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the people of Delhi will give 70 per cent votes to the BJP, he asserted.

He explained that while there is "deep concern" surrounding Delhi's air quality, neighbouring states also have to be held accountable. The air in Delhi has need a sharp decline over the last month. According to data shared by Safar India, Delhi's ranks 'severe' on the Air Quality India (AQI) with a PM count of 423. So far, this is the worst PM count of the season with PM 2.5 at 273 and PM 10 at 421. Putting the entire blame on the citizens of Delhi takes away from the seriousness of the issue, according to Kejriwal. Kejriwal also pointed out that while the air quality in Delhi has been drastically affected between September 30 to November 30, nothing in Delhi itself has changed. "It's not there are 1 crore more vehicles or that 10 lakh industries have come up over night. Only one thing has change and that is the fumes from stubble burning in neighboring states," he said. "We want specific timeline from the governments of Haryana, Punjab and the central government on immediate steps to deal with stubble burning," Kejriwal added. The odd-even scheme, Delhi ki Diwali initiative, banning the entry of trucks, restricting night-time construction and circulating masks are initiatives that are already underway. "We are already doing what we can to counter the problem, at least to address the things that are under our control... This is not to say that there isn't more to be done but Delhi citizens are doing their best," said Kejriwal. Weather experts are hoping that increased wind speeds starting tomorrow might help disperse the pollutants from the city. "The capital city must look like a capital," stated Kejriwal.

During this auspicious festive season, the Delhi government is busy preparing Connaught Place for the celebrations and invites everyone to come celebrate with us," said Kejriwal. Just like people celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in Maharashtra and Durga Puja in Bengal, Kerjiwal asked citizens to leave their homes and celebrate Diwali with the rest of the city. "The aim of this experiment is have Delhi come together like a family and avoid bursting firecrackers," said Kejriwal in a press conference today. The 'Community Diwali' will be held at Connaught Place from 26 October to 29 October in the evening between 6:00 and 10:00 pm. And, instead of fireworks to light up the sky, the Delhi government is going to be putting up a laser show. "The show will light up the Connaught Place shopping area with its lasers and lights," explained Kejriwal. Even though one laser show is only an hour long, it will play on an hourly cycle. "I've been getting calls over the past few days asking for passes to the event… There are no passes, everyone in Delhi is invited to attend for free," said Kejriwal. Kejriwal urged Delhi-ites to help lower the city's air pollution that normally spikes during the festive season. In addition to the laser show, Kejriwal is also promising a bazaar, food court, and cultural shows to keep visitors entertained. This time around Delhi's 'Community Diwali' is restricted to Connaught Place but it may expand to many more locations next year, if the experiment is successful.
