In a shocking news, the Income Tax (I-T) Department found out that Rs 40 crore were deposited in a branch on <keyword id="6355975" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Axis-Bank">Axis Bank</keyword> in New Delhi. Post demonetization, this is one of the largest seizure of black money, hinting that even banks are involved in such money laundering cases. 
 
The Rs 40 crore were deposited in banned notes. . Authorities are now keeping a close watch on associates of some politicians, bureaucrats and industrialists. 
 
Post this event, the I-T officials searched the premises of two of its managers along with the axis bank, in the last three days and cash and documents were seized. 
 The racket has been uncovered and is said to be operating from old Delhi and <keyword id="6396180" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Laxmi-Nagar">Laxmi Nagar</keyword> areas where some jewellers and entry operators were found collecting and in connivance with bank officials. 
 
In the Axis Bank case, the managers were allegedly paid Rs 40 lakh to facilitate 'under-the-counter' transactions. 
 
According to sources, the illegal notes were deposited in three newly-opened accounts in the Axis Bank branch between November 11 and 22. 
 
The interrogation of three accused revealed that the bank managers extended special counter facility beyond banking hours for deposits of the banned currency notes. 
 However, the official spokesperson from Axis Bank said, "The deposits were made in the existing accounts of our customer at <keyword id="6488268" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kashmere-Gate">Kashmere Gate</keyword> branch, Delhi."

India is set to host the coveted G20 leaders’ summit in New Delhi on September 9 and 10, 2023. The event will have world leaders like US President Joe Biden in attendance and as a result, to enhance security measures in the capital, a number of restrictions have been announced by the government which will make daily commute a hassle starting September 7 when the guests start arriving. Here is what the residents of the National Capital Region (NCR) will have to keep in mind: Commercial vehicles: All types of goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses and local city buses such as Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System (DIMTS) buses shall not operate on Mathura Road (beyond Ashram Chowk), Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road and inside Pragati Maidan Tunnel from 00:00 hours on the intervening night of September 7 to September 10 midnight. Goods vehicles: Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), Medium Goods Vehicles (MGVs) and Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs) will not be allowed to enter into Delhi from 21:00 hours on September 7 to September 10. However, goods vehicles carrying Essential Commodities such as milk, vegetables, fruits, medical supplies, etc., having valid ‘No Entry Permissions’ will be permitted. For the entire New Delhi district: The entire area of New Delhi District will be considered as “Controlled Zone-I '' from 05:00 AM, September 8 to September 10 midnight. However, bonafide residents, authorised vehicles and vehicles dealing with housekeeping, catering, waste management, etc. for hotels, hospitals &amp; other important installations in New Delhi District will be allowed. Roads and junctions being treated as “Controlled Zone-II”: For 14 hours on September 10 (midnight to 14:00 hrs) the following roads will have restricted access: W-Point, A-Point, DDU Marg, Vikas Marg (till Noida Link Road – Pusta Road), Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Delhi Gate, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (from Rajghat to Guru Nanak Chowk), Chaman Lal Marg (from Guru Nanak Chowk to Turkman Gate), Asaf Ali Road (from Turkman Gate to BSZMarg), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Marg (from Barakhamba – Tolstoy crossing to Guru Nanak Chowk on Chaman Lal Marg), Mahatma Gandhi Marg (from Delhi-Meerut Expressway T-Point to Kashmere Gate), IP Flyover, Shanti Van Chowk, Hanuman Setu, ISBT Kashmere Gate and Salimgarh Bypass. However, movement of following categories of vehicles shall be exempted from the above restrictions: - i) All types of commercial vehicles including buses which are already present in Delhi shall be allowed to move on Ring Road &amp; road network beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi. ii) Taxis carrying bonafide residents and tourists having valid bookings in hotels located inside New Delhi District, and intending to go to New Delhi Railway Station will be allowed to ply on the road network inside New Delhi District. iii) General traffic, except goods vehicles and buses, will be allowed into Delhi from Rajokari Border. Compulsory diversion: Further, the above mentioned traffic will be compulsorily diverted from NH-48 to Rao Tula Ram Marg – Olof Palme Marg. No vehicular movement will be allowed on NH-48 towards Dhaula Kuan. Defence and emergency vehicles: Vehicles of Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces, Police, Disaster Management, Fire tenders, Ambulance and those engaged in emergency services like road maintenance, maintenance of electric supply, water/sewage line, communication network, etc. will be allowed to move throughout Delhi. The existing prohibition as notified from time to time for different categories of vehicles shall also prevail.

The water level of the <keyword id="6354936" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="yamuna" source="Orion">Yamuna</keyword> in Delhi followed a downward trend on Tuesday morning after a slight increase on Monday due to rains in catchment areas upstream of the national capital. However, it is still flowing over two metres above the danger mark of 205.33 metres. The Wazirabad water treatment plant, where operations were hit due to inundation of a pump house, has also started working at full capacity, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said. According to the Central Water Commission's flood-monitoring portal, the Yamuna water level declined to 205.67 metres by 8 am on Tuesday from 206.01 at 11 pm on Monday. It is expected to drop further to 205.41 metres by 7 pm. With the flow rate from the Hathnikund Barrage in Haryana's Yamunanagar decreasing over the past two days, further decline is expected. The river has been receding gradually after peaking to 208.66 metres on Thursday. However, a minor fluctuation in the water level cannot be ruled out due to rain in the upper reaches. The inundation of a pump house at Wazirabad due to the swollen Yamuna had impeded operations at Wazirabad, Chandrawal and Okhla water treatment plants, leading to a 25 per cent drop in water supply. The Okhla WTP began operating on Friday, and Chandrawal on Sunday. Kejriwal said in a tweet on Tuesday, "Wazirabad Water treatment plant has also started working at full capacity. Now all WTPs are working at full capacity. DJB worked very hard. Thank you DJB!" Parts of the city have been grappling with waterlogging and flooding issues for a week now. Initially, a downpour caused intense waterlogging on July 8 and 9, with the city receiving 125 per cent of its monthly rainfall quota in just two days. Subsequently, heavy rains in the upper catchment areas, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana, led to the Yamuna swelling to record levels. The river reached 208.66 metres on Thursday, surpassing the previous all-time record of 207.49 metres set in September 1978 by a significant margin. The river breached embankments and penetrated deeper into the city than it has in over four decades. Friday marked a turning point as the raging Yamuna and the resulting backflow of foul-smelling water from drains spilled into prominent locations such as the Supreme Court, Raj Ghat, and the bustling intersection at ITO. Prior to the misery on Friday, the river water had already reached the rear ramparts of the Red Fort and inundated one of the city's major bus terminals at Kashmere Gate. The Ring Road, constructed partially over floodplains, remained closed for three consecutive days near Kashmere Gate last week. With the situation deteriorating every passing hour last week, Kejriwal had urged the Centre to intervene and the Delhi Police imposed Section 144 of the CrPC in flood-prone areas to prevent public movement there. The army was called in for the first time since the 2010 floods to repair a broken flow regulator at drain no. 12, the reason behind the flooding in central parts of the capital on Friday. The consequences of the floods have been devastating with over 26,000 people evacuated from their homes. The losses incurred in terms of property, businesses, and earnings have amounted to crores. Experts attribute the unprecedented flooding in Delhi to encroachment on floodplains, extreme rainfall occurring within shorter durations, and silt accumulation that raised the riverbed. The low-lying areas near the river in the northeast, east, central, and southeast districts, inhabited by around 41,000 people, are considered prone to flooding. A study on "Urban Flooding and its Management" by the Irrigation and Flood Control Department identifies east Delhi under the floodplain region and highly vulnerable to floods. Despite this, encroachment and development have occurred at a rapid pace in the ecologically sensitive region over the years. Letters exchanged between the Delhi Forest Department and the primary land-owning agency in the city, Delhi Development Authority, show that 2,480 hectares of land in the Yamuna floodplains have been encroached upon or developed since 2009. Yamuna in Delhi shows receding trend but still above danger mark

Talking to after the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting with Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on the unprecedented flood situation in the national capital, Kejriwal said, "We had a DDMA meeting. Several important decisions were taken. Schools, colleges &amp; universities will remain closed till Sunday. All government offices, except those providing essential services, will have Work from Home till Sunday. Advisory is being issued for private offices to do the same." CM said that entry of heavy vehicles, except those providing essential services have been banned. "<keyword id="71746" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="water-rationing" source="Orion">Water rationing</keyword> will have to be done as three Water Treatment Plants are shut and people will face water crisis for a day or two. Heavy vehicles, except those providing essential services, that enter Delhi will not be allowed. There were issues of toilets and bathrooms at relief camps. So, the camps are being shifted to schools. There are over 20,000 people in relief camps", Kejriwal told ANI. The CM further told ANI that NDRF teams are deployed and will request for more if the situation demands. "NDRF teams are deployed, if needed we will request more. Also arrangement have been made for more NDRF relief boats. We expect the water to recede by tomorrow", he said. As per NDRF inputs, a total of 12 NDRF teams have been deployed in Delhi which includes three in Central Delhi, three in North-East Delhi, two in South-East Delhi, three in East Delhi and one in Shahdara. Meanwhile, in view of the rising water level of River Yamuna, the Delhi government banned entry of Heavy Good Vehicles from the Singhu Border, Badarpur Border, Loni Border and Chilla Border. Interstate buses from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand terminating at ISBT Kashmere Gate will terminate at Singhu border. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted that South-West Delhi and adjoining areas is likely to receive light to moderate intensity rain on Thursday. Schools, colleges to remain shut till Sunday, Govt offices will have WFH

New Delhi, <keyword id="514090" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="floodwaters" source="Orion">Floodwaters</keyword> of the overflowing Yamuna reached the entrance of the Supreme Court in Central Delhi on Friday while the busy ITO intersection and Rajghat were submerged as a regulator of the Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control Department suffered damage, exacerbating the already dire situation. Though the water level of the Yamuna has began to recede, the damage to the regulator near Indraprastha caused flooding in ITO and surrounding areas. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Revenue Minister Atishi directed the chief secretary to seek help from the NDRF and Army to prevent flooding in Delhi due to the damage to the regulator. Kejriwal will be visiting the site to take stock of the situation. "This breach is causing flooding of ITO and surroundings. Engineers have been working whole nite. I have directed the Chief Secretary to seek help of Army/NDRF but this shud be fixed urgently," he tweeted. The Irrigation and Flood Control team have been building a weir at a drain but water is still entering the city, Atishi said in an official communication. "If needed all engineering wings of the NDRF and the Army be requested to help on this matter. Chief Secretary directed to submit hourly reports to CM, I&amp;FC minister and Revenue Minister," she said. Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said the government has directed the chief secretary to take up the matter of the damage to the regulator on priority and resolve the problem. "Whole night, our teams worked to fix the damage at regulator of drain no. 12 near WHO building. Still, the water of Yamuna is entering the city through this breach. The government has directed the chief secretary to take it up on highest priority," he said in a tweet. The compromised regulator allowed the Yamuna water to flow back towards the city areas. Yamuna's water level at 8 am stood at 208.42 metres, while at 10 am, it had gone down to 208.38 metres. The flooding in ITO and Rajghat areas has led the authorities to impose curbs on movement of traffic. "No vehicular traffic will be allowed on Mahatma Gandhi Marg from Sarai Kale Khan towards IP Flyover due to overflow of drain water near WHO Building. Commuters are advised to avoid the stretch," the Delhi Traffic Police said in a tweet. Commuters battled problems as they navigated through the waterlogged ITO Road, which is a key stretch connecting East Delhi to Lutyens''s Delhi. People going to their offices and New Delhi Railway Station will face hardships while navigating through the stretch. Some people could be seen dragging their vehicles through the waterlogged ITO stretch. A commuter going towards Noida said, "Till now, we were feeling that the flooodwater is only entering low-lying areas. But now the threat feels so closer as the nerve centre of Delhi has been flooded". Traffic movement was also closed on Bhairon Road due to overflow of drain water near Railway Under Bridge. "Movement of traffic is restricted from Geeta Colony Flyover towards Rajghat and ISBT, Kashmere Gate due to rise in water level of Yamuna river. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly," the traffic police said in another tweet.

Delhi Police on Thursday imposed prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 near the <keyword id="6380456" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="red-fort">Red Fort</keyword> ahead of a protest against the amended Citizenship Act, officials said. Lahori Gate, Kashmere Gate and Kotwali police stations will come under this order, they said. Police has already denied the permission for the protest near the Red Fort citing law and order issues, but the protestors said they will go ahead with the march.

New Delhi, May 3 () Nearly 500 Delhi students stranded at coaching hub Kota in Rajasthan due to the coronavirus lockdown returned to the national capital on Sunday morning in 40 private buses.Delhi's transport minister Kailash Gahlot said the students, who arrived at the Kashmere Gate Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT), would be sent home in DTC buses after undergoing medical tests.The tired students said they were feeling lonely in Kota, the coaching hub for engineering and medical aspirants, and relieved to be back home."The hostel in which I lived, gradually emptied and only a few students were there. I longed for home and my family as I spent days in the hostel room amid lockdown restrictions. It was difficult to focus on anything amid this anxiety," said Arun Kumar, a resident of Mohan Garden preparing for NEET in Kota.Kumar said he was able to cope with other difficulties in Kota except "missing" his parents and was relieved to return home.Earlier, the Delhi government had said that more than 800 students would be brought back to the city from Kota in 40 private buses. However, the number came down to 480 as many names were repeated in the list prepared with the help of Kota administration, said Rajiv Singh, ADM (central), nodal officer for the evacuation operation of the Delhi government."A total of 480 students have been brought back from Kota. All the students are reportedly fine," Singh said.He said the needs of students were taken care of by teams of Delhi government officials who accompanied them during the journey from Kota and that Civil Defence volunteers were deployed to move their belongings which included study material and books.Naved Alam from Janakpuri who was taking medical coaching in Kota said that he felt "deserted and overpowered by stress" almost all the students from other states had gone back home."I felt terrible and lonely as students from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states left. There was no problem of food but it became difficult to stay at the hostel and study," Alam said.Another student from south Delhi, who is preparing for engineering entrance test, said the lockdown has "badly affected" the exam preparations of students."My studies have been badly affected due to the lockdown as classes were disrupted since we were advised to stay at hostel. I have carried my books and now I will be able to focus on studies again and try to make up for the loss," said the girl who did not wished to be named.Meanwhile, the revenue department of the Delhi government had set up an enquiry counter at Kashmere Gate ISBT for coordinating work to ensure the safe return of the students.Separate counters were set up for each of the 11 districts in Delhi. The students getting down from the buses were directed to their respective district desk where they were screened and medically examined for coronavirus.The students were finally helped by civil defence volunteers to board designated DTC buses for each district to take them to their homes.The students from Delhi preparing for competitive medical and engineering exams were stranded in Kota for weeks during the coronavirus-induced lockdown and appeals were made by their parents to the Delhi government to bring them back.Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had assured that the students would be brought back. The official handles from Airtel and Vodafone responded and confirmed that they are following a government directive to shut down the services. According to IANS, the Delhi Police wrote to the cell phone operators including Airtel, Jio, MTNL, BSNL, and Vodafone Idea to stop all communication services in many parts of the national capital.

 According to an IANS report, services have been shut in these areas of Central Delhi – Central district, Walled city area, Mandi House, Selampur, Zafarabad, Shaeenbagh, Jamia Nagar, and Mustafabad. Ironically, today the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejrwal launched a WiFi scheme. “We regret that on a day when the Delhi government had to launch the #WiFiScheme, internet services have been suspended in some parts of Delhi,” said Kejriwal. Central Delhi has come to a halt as several protests are planned in the area. Over 13 metro stations have been shut, while commuters at Gurgaon-Delhi border were stuck in a massive traffic jam. “Metro services from Jama Masjid to Kashmere Gate remained sealed as security forces put barricades to prevent protestors from reaching the Red Fort on Thursday,” said an IANS report. However, protestors are known to be marching towards the Red Fort defying a Section 144 order in the area. New Delhi, Apr 20 () The Delhi High Court Monday directed the Delhi government to continue with the steps to ensure there is no dearth of food, water, electricity and sanitation requirements in the area where the inhabitants of Yamuna Pushta have been relocated for the lockdown period to contain the spread of coronavirus.A bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad, conducting the hearing through video conferencing, said it was satisfied with the steps taken by the authorities to ensure that the homeless persons, who were earlier stranded at Yamuna Pushta, and those at the Labour camp near Sarai Kale Khan are being supplied food and other facilities on a regular basis during the lockdown period.The court disposed of a petition seeking direction to the Delhi government, DUSIB, Delhi Police and Labour Department to provide facilities to thousands of homeless persons, daily wage workers, stranded and living in the open along the bank of river Yamuna at Kashmere Gate here who are without any shelter, toilet or medical facility.Petitioner Sunil Kumar Aledia claimed that payment was being demanded for using public toilet facilities in and around homeless shelters and slum clusters.He further claimed that construction workers of a company, engaged in a Pragati Maidan project, are also stranded without any proper provision for their food at the labour camp near Sarai Kale Khan.The court was informed by Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain, representing the Delhi government and various other authorities, that out of 4,229 inhabitants living at Yamuna Pushta, from April 14-16, 3,600 have been shifted to different schools in Delhi, 600 have been shifted to the Yamuna Sports Complex.Another 358 workers have been moved to shelter homes being run by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB).He added that DUSIB has arranged make-shift shelters for them at whichever place they have been shifted to and besides this, arrangements have been made for providing free food, potable water, mobile toilet vans, sanitation and medical facilities.The ASG said none of the daily wage workers are stranded and living in the open at Yamuna pushta, as asserted by the petitioner. After noting the submissions, the bench said it was satisfied that all the three issues raised in the petition have been satisfactorily addressed by the concerned authorities and there is no reason to keep the matter pending."Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of with directions issued to the respondents (authorities) to continue taking necessary steps to ensure that there is no dearth of food, potable water, electricity and other requirements of sanitation in the area where the inhabitants of Yamuna Pushta have now been relocated or the Labour Camps at Sarai Kale Khan throughout the lockdown period," the bench said.Regarding the claim that charges were being taken for using toilet facilities, the government said since January 2018, DUSIB has been providing toilet facilities in JJ clusters without levying anyCharges and none of the municipal bodies are charging anything during the lockdown period for such facilities. Dr Sambit Patra of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost the Puri Lok Sabha seat to Biju Janata Dal (BJD)’s Pinaki Mishra after putting up a tough fight. Mishra won by a thin margin of 11,700 votes. Dr Patra who was a doctor by profession had practiced medicine at Hindu Rao Hospital in Delhi. His first tryst with politics was municipal elections in Delhi’s Kashmere Gate. Though he lost in 2012, he had risen to the ranks to become Delhi’s BJP spokesperson. The Hermit Patra’s campaign was full of drama and colour as he vowed to live the life of hermit during the campaign. He has been trying to dethrone the existing ‘super-rich’ MP Mishra, using his own childhood poverty card to resonate with the voters. He also formed a manifesto to help the ‘ignored’ poor. He also put in a lot of star power into the campaign. He managed to rope in BJP President Amit Shah and Union Minister Rajnath Singh to conduct rallies in the pilgrimage city of Puri. Lord’s Idol Patra’s saffron attire and campaign did not go down well with the opposition. One of his spectacular moves was carrying an idol of Lord Jagannath along while seeking votes. Congress party had complained the election commission. And, other temple staff was not too thrilled either. However, the move regarding Patra which raised the most eyebrows was his appointment to Oil &amp; Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) as an independent director. A case was also filed in courts regarding his employment into a government owned entity even as he held the role of BJP spokesperson.

In a shocking revelation, the <keyword id="6354751" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Income-Tax">Income Tax</keyword> department officials conducted a raid on a Delhi branch of the <keyword id="6355975" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Axis-Bank">Axis Bank</keyword> and allegedly unearthed 44 fake accounts. 
 
The raid took place in Delhi's Chandni Chowk area during which tax sleuths recovered nearly Rs 100 crore in old notes. 
 
The 44 fake accounts, they said, had been created using forged documents and investigators suspect that the money may have been routed to buy gold. 
 
Earlier, tax officers had caught two people with rs 3.5 crore in new currency from Axis Bank’s Kashmere Gate branch.

<keyword id="6385438" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="heavy-rains">Heavy rains</keyword> lashed parts of the national capital today leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas at several places, Gurgaon being the most affected. 
 
The mercury, however, settled at the normal level. The maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 34.7 and 26.5 degrees Celsius respectively, both normal for this time of the year, according to the MeT Department. 
 
However, vehicular movement was affected across the city, including at ITO, Vikas Marg, South Extension, Khanpur, Mahipalpur, Hari Nagar, IIT crossing, Nehru Place, Yusuf Sarai Market and Munirka. 
 
Traffic also crawled at various major intersections such as Laxmi Nagar, Kashmere Gate, Dwarka, Dhaula Kuan, Sarai Kale Khan, Moolchand, Karkarduma, Rajghat, Kalindi Kunj. 
 
Heavy traffic and bottlenecks were also witnessed on road stretches from Punjabi Bagh flyover to Rajouri Garden flyover, Mandi House to W-Point, Baraf Khana, Minto Road, Leela Palace and on Meerabagh Outer Ring Road. 
 
Meanwhile, Gurgaon saw waterlogging at a number of key intersections, including Hero Honda Chowk, Sohna Road, Manesar, Udyog Vihar, old Gurgaon Road and a few areas in New Gurgaon.

Heavy rains cripple Delhi, bring Gurugram to a complete standstill

In a bid to curb the sale of counterfeit goods in the market, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Will-ensure-full-implementation-of-odd-even-scheme-in-Delhi-Police-chief-BS-Bassi/articleshow/50396027.cms">Delhi Police</a> has seized fake products of auto majors <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Renaults-KWID-to-do-well-but-cannot-beat-Alto-/articleshow/49152747.cms">Maruti Suzuki</a> and <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> from Delhi’s Kashmere Gate market in December last year. A tip-off by investigating agency, Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR), helped the police to seize products in two separate raids. 
	 “It took us at least 15 days before we could confirm that the shop was selling counterfeit products of <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Supreme-Court-upholds-ban-on-sale-of-large-diesel-vehicles-in-Delhi/articleshow/50452246.cms">Tata Motors</a>,” said Gulfaraz Makani, director of EIPR. 
	 
	According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the agency, the officials found out that several markets in North Delhi have been involved in sale and distribution of fake auto spare parts. “During the market survey in North areas of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/India-asks-authorities-to-take-action-to-save-choking-Delhi/articleshow/50390644.cms">Delhi</a>, above companies’ logo and its artwork, which is similarly deceptive to companies’ original logo and artwork registered under the Copyright of the aforementioned company and at the same time, they are causing wrongful gain to themselves and wrongful loss to the above company as well as the general public,” read the report. 
	 
	It further stated, “…In addition to the fiscal loss, the reputation of above company has suffered badly in the eyes of the public. I can point out the places where the counterfeit products of above company are kept for sale and distribution. The aforesaid offence also amounts to cheating. Further, above company has not authorized any party to reproduce or to use their logo or brand of their respective products.” 
	 
	The raid seized over 1200 spare parts which included Tata Motors’ clutch plates, clutch plates with plastic box, the brand’s stickers along with tapes. In the second raid, police recovered 46 fake Maruti goods such as clutch plates and outer box covers. 
	 The raids were carried out on December 30, 2015. Till date, the EIPR has conducted over 40 such raids every year and has been recovering fake products of major brands in the auto segment. Currently, the agency has <keyword id="6381274" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mercedes-Benz">Mercedes Benz</keyword>, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki and <keyword id="6357096" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahindra-Mahindra">Mahindra &amp; Mahindra</keyword> on board.
