Shimla, May 1 () Himachal Pradesh has not reported any fresh COVID-19 case in the past eight days, a senior state government official said on Friday. So far, 41 coronavirus cases have been reported and the number of active cases in the state is five now, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) R D Dhiman said. Two people have died of COVID-19 in the state. The fatalities include a 70-year-old Delhi resident who had stayed at a guest house of a factory in Solan''s Baddi and died at the PGIMER, Chandigarh, on April 2. "Of the 340 samples sent for testing today, all tested negative for the infection," he said. These tests are being conducted at five laboratories in the state at Tanda's Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC), Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla, Palampur's Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT) in Kangra, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College (SLBSGMC) Nerchowk in Mandi and Kasauli's Central Research Institute (CRI) in Solan. The active cases are from Una, Chamba and Sirmaur districts of the hill state. Nine out of total 12 districts of the state are coronavirus-free now. They are Kangra, Hamirpur, Solan, Shimla, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Bilaspur, Mandi and Kullu. Shimla, Apr 26 () Three more COVID-19 patients recovered in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, taking the total number of those cured in the state to 25, a senior health official said. Twelve patients from Una district, five from Solan, four from Chamba, three from Kangra and one from Sirmaur district have recovered from the infection so far, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) R D Dhiman said. No fresh coronavirus case was reported in the state in the last three days, he added. Of the 261 samples sent for testing on Sunday, 194 tested negative while reports of the rest are awaited, Dhiman added. New Delhi, With the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) approving <keyword id="95879" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Serum-Institute-of-India">Serum Institute of India</keyword>'s 'Covishield' vaccine and <keyword id="149108" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bharat-Biotech">Bharat Biotech</keyword>'s 'Covaxin' for emergency use, paving way for their roll-out and administration to millions, Russian <keyword id="9739267" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sputnik-V">Sputnik V</keyword> vaccine makers have said that they are working with <keyword id="6409874" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="astrazeneca">AstraZeneca</keyword> (AZ) to take the efficacy of AZ vaccine to over 90%. In a tweet, Sputnik V said: "As Indian regulator recommends for approval full-dose regimen of AstraZeneca's vaccine with efficacy of 62.1% based on phase 3 clinical data. Sputnik V is working on clinical trials with AZ to increase the efficacy of AZ vaccine to over 90%". AstraZeneca is currently working with the Russians on the combination of their vaccine's vector with that from Sputnik V (showing 91.4% efficacy as per Phase 3 final control point recorded last month), precisely to see if that could help boost its vaccine's efficacy to over 90% as well. While both vaccines use adenoviral vector technology, the AstraZeneca vaccine is based on a chimpanzee adenovirus (which is not the most popular technology among the vaccinated as recently conducted polls indicated that, given a choice, consumers prefer other technologies), the Sputnik V vaccine is based on a human adenovirus. Unlike AstraZeneca, which uses one and the same component for both inoculations, the Russian vaccine uses two different ones in two separate inoculations. Russian vaccine makers are trying to push AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine's efficacy to beyond 90%

<keyword id="9265079" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-serum-institute-of-india">The Serum Institute of India</keyword> on Sunday became the first indigenous company to apply to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) seeking emergency use authorisation for the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine in the country citing unmet medical needs due to the pandemic and in the interest of the public at large, official sources said. A day earlier, the Indian arm of US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer became the first to seek a similar approval from India's drug regulator for its own COVID-19 vaccine in the country, after securing such clearance in the UK and Bahrain. The phase-three clinical trial of the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine, Covishield, is being conducted by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India on Sunday (SII), co-sponsored by <keyword id="6364555" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Council-of-Medical-Research">Indian Council of Medical Research</keyword> (ICMR), in various parts of the country in addition to clinical studies being carried out by <keyword id="9605255" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="oxford-astrazeneca">Oxford-AstraZeneca</keyword> in the UK and Brazil. Based on phase two and three clinical trial results, the SII with the help of the ICMR will pursue early availability of the vaccine for India, the country's apex health research body had said last month. According to the ICMR, the SII has already manufactured 40 million doses of the vaccine under the at-risk manufacturing and stockpiling license it obtained from the DCGI. Official sources, citing the SII application, said the firm has stated that data from four clinical studies, two in the UK and one each in Brazil and India, shows that Covishield is highly efficacious against symptomatic and most importantly against severe COVID-19 infections. The results are in line with other anti-coronavirus vaccines and because of the huge disease burden, Covishield is predicted to alleviate substantial COVID-19 mortality and morbidity, the firm is learnt to have said. "In terms of safety, Covishield was well tolerated with respect to solicited adverse events and was not associated with an increased number of SAEs and deaths. A majority of solicited reactions were mild in severity and resolved without any sequelae. "Therefore, Covishield is safe and well-tolerated and can be used effectively for prevention of COVID-19 in the targeted population. Thus, the benefit to risk ratio strongly supports the widespread use of Covishield," a source said quoting the application. In order to introduce an urgently needed vaccine against COVID-19 in India, SII, the world's largest vaccine manufacturer, has entered into a collaboration with the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca to manufacture the vaccine. The SII has also submitted 12 batches of the vaccine to <keyword id="9576145" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-central-drugs-laboratory">the Central Drugs Laboratory</keyword> (CDL) in Kasauli for testing, a source said. "In line with our philosophy we assure you that for COVID-19 vaccines also, we are committed to make our country 'aatmanirbhar' (self-reliant) and fulfil our prime minister's clarion call of 'vocal for local' and 'making in India' for the world," stated the application signed by Prakash Kumar Singh, Additional Director, <keyword id="2344259" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Government-and-Regulatory-Affairs">Government and Regulatory Affairs</keyword> at Serum Institute of India (SII). In view of all these facts and unmet medical needs in the interest of the public at large to save millions of people in the country and across the globe, early availability of a vaccine against COVID-19 is a necessity, it stated. "So, in the national interest, we request you to grant us emergency use authorisation of Covishield based on our application and in view of immediate need for a safe, effective, programmatically suitable and affordable vaccine for our country," the application read. According to sources, this vaccine is logistically feasible for distribution in the country's both urban and rural parts as it can be stored at two to eight degrees Celsius, which is an ideal temperature for being kept in cold storages in the country. As a rapid regulatory response, the DCGI on August 2 had given nod to SII for conducting the combined phase two and three human clinical trials of the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine in the country. Oxford COVID-19 vaccine: Serum Institute seeks emergency use nod for Covishield vaccine in India

(Eds: Adding details) Shimla, Apr 30 () Five more COVID-19 patients recovered in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, taking the total number of those cured in the state to 30, officials said. One patient from Jawali subdivision in Kangra district, one from Sihunta tehsil in Chamba district and one from Una district have recovered from the disease on Thursday, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) R D Dhiman said. Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner Harikesh Meena said two patients from Hamirpur district also recovered as they tested negative on late Thursday night. With this, Kangra and Hamirpur districts have become coronavirus free. Hamirpur District Magistrate Harikesh Meena on Thursday evening issued an order de-notifying all such areas that had been declared as containment zones following detection of two novel coronavirus positive cases on April 17. The first two cases in the state surfaced in Kangra district on March 20. A total of five cases were reported from Kangra district. Four of them recovered whereas a 69-year-old man who had travelled from USA died of coronavirus on March 23. Thirteen patients from Una district, five each from Solan and Chamba, four from Kangra, two from Hamirpur and one patient from Sirmaur district have recovered so far. No fresh coronavirus case was reported in the state for a week, he added. Of the 361 samples sent for testing on Friday, 359 tested negative while reports of the rest are awaited, he added. These tests are being conducted at five laboratories in HP at Tanda's Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC), Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla, Palampur's Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT) in Kangra, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College (SLBSGMC) Nerchowk in Mandi and Kasauli's Central Research Institute (CRI) in Solan. So far, 41 coronavirus cases have been reported in the state and the number of active cases in the state is five. The active cases are from Una, Chamba and Sirmaur districts of the hill state. Three active cases from Una, one each from Chamba and Sirmaur are being treated at Tanda's RPGMC, Bhota Charitable Hospital in Hamirpur and Katha's ESIC in Baddi, respectively. Four patients from Solan district were shifted to a private hospital outside Himachal Pradesh. Two people have died of COVID-19 in the state. Here's an indicative timeline for the Oxford vaccine — from phase-3 trials to the final supply in the market

Purchasing home online initially seemed to be a far-fetched idea, but off late this has gained great traction as buyers are now carrying out multi-crore transactions in <keyword id="2906603" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Internet-based-real-estate-industry">Internet-based real estate industry</keyword>. Recently, a Mumbai resident spent Rs 4.5 crore to book a 4 BHK apartment at The Promont, Bangalore with <keyword id="6613497" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Housing">Tata Housing</keyword> online. The <keyword id="6354553" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="real-estate">real estate</keyword> firm sold another luxury unit in its project called Myst in Kasauli to an NRI customer for Rs 5.5 crore online, making it India's largest transaction in the online space. 

	Even India’s major e-tailer Snapdeal sold a Tata Housing unit for Rs 1.1 crore early this month within hours of commencing the sale. Later, the Delhi-based online marketplace Snapdeal claimed that this was its highest online transaction and the company sees. It further asserted that the frequency of such transactions is moving beyond a crore on its site.
 "The Rs 5.5-crore transaction is the highest ever in the Indian online space. We have tied up with <keyword id="1143302" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Snapdeal-com">Snapdeal .com</keyword> and <keyword id="1960231" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housing-com">Housing.com</keyword> to sell our premium and value housing units,” a senior Tata Housing official told TOI. 

	He further added that “Tata Housing has sold over 1,500 units online, accounting for 25% of Rs 1,100-crore sales and expects that online sales will account for over 40% of revenues in the coming years with the tremendous growth of e-commerce."
 

	Apart from Tata Housing, other realty players like DLF, Sobha Developers, Godrej Properties, Mantri Developers and Purvankara are following suit to tie up with online retailers to grab a slice of the $45-billion organised property market.

	According to a Tata Housing spokesperson, a virtual walk-through the property in order to check out the neighbourhood is helping home-seekers to make informed decisions. He further added, “We offer premium properties online that are not available offline to get the customer's attention."
