"Don't take me otherwise, with your permission... I have decided that after lunch I will go to the Raj Bhavan and submit my resignation as the Chief Minister to the Governor," <keyword id="421753" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="yediyurappa">Yediyurappa</keyword> said with a choked voice, as he turned emotional. "Not out of grief, but with happiness," he said, as he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, <keyword id="318692" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Union-Home">Union Home</keyword> Minister <keyword id="6355521" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="amit-shah">Amit Shah</keyword> and <keyword id="337597" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BJP-National">BJP National</keyword> President J P Nadda for giving him an opportunity to serve as Chief Minister for two years, despite completing 75 years. There is an unwritten rule in the BJP of keeping out those above 75 years from elected offices. The Chief Minister also said that he will work to strengthen the party and bring it back to power, as per the expectations of the central leaders. Yediyurappa was speaking at an event organised to mark his government's two years in office at Vidhana Soudha, the seat of state legislature and secretariat here. During the speech, Yediyurappa termed his tenure for two years as "trial by fire", recalling that he had to run the administration without cabinet in the initial days, followed by devastating floods and coronavirus among other issues. <ul><li><keyword id="6354780" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Karnataka">Karnataka</keyword> trust voting is delayed by the ruling Congress-JD(S) government and the Speaker. </li><li>The governor of the state has sent word to the Speaker directing him to hold the trust vote, today itself. </li><li>Congress alleged that BJP had kidnapped its MLA Shreemath Patil from Mumbai resort, who had decided to take back his resignation and vote in Congress’ favour. </li><li>Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar has asked home minister MB Patil to contact Shreemath’s family and give a detailed report tomorrow. </li></ul>The political crisis of Karnataka is not ending, not soon anyways. Since morning today, both the ruling party and opposition have been exchanging a war of words at the state’s assembly, which is delaying the trust vote by over six hours. The governor of the state has sent word to the Speaker directing him to hold the trust vote, today itself. Congress delayed the vote as it alleged that BJP kidnapped the Congress MLA Shreemath Patil, who had decided to take his resignation back and vote in favour of the ruling party. BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa said that they are willing to wait till midnight till the voting starts. Speaker’s Dilemma The Speaker had received a letter in this regard named in Patil’s name, saying he would abstain from coming to the house due to health related issues. However, the Speaker asked the present Home Minister of Karnataka, MB Patil to contact Shreemath Pati’s family and give a detailed report by tomorrow. “What kind of a Speaker would I be if I proceed with a document which has no date or letterhead,” said K R Ramesh Kumar. The house was adjourned for half an hour till 4:30 pm, after ruckus raged at the Vidhan Soudha in Bengaluru. Previously in the day, a delegation of senior BJP leaders Jagadish Shettar, Arvind Limbavalli and Baravraj Bommai met the Governor of Karnataka, Vajubhai Vala and submitted a complaint on the proceedings of the house and requested him to intervene and ask the Speaker to conduct the confidence motion today itself. The Karnataka state government went into a crisis mode after 16 of its MLAs from both the parties of the coalition government resigned early this month. For the last two weeks, the political crisis in the state raged on, as Speaker of the Assembly refused to accept them, taking them to court. One of the rebel MLAs Roshan Baig was also detained at Bengaluru airport and questioned, as he was stopped from taking a chartered flight, yesterday.

The ruling government has managed to dodge the trust vote which requires them to prove majority, by an entire day. But they might not get any more time. The trust vote which was supposed to happen yesterday, was relentlessly delayed by the ruling Congress-JD(S) coalition which might be facing an end of its run. BJP party members had staged an overnight dharna or protest over the delay of trust vote. Accusations, speeches and allegations between both Congress and BJP managed to delay the vote, yesterday. Karnataka’s trust vote to happen today by 1:30 pm, after relentless overnight drama

<ul><li>The Supreme Court directed the 10 rebellious Congress MLAs to speak to <keyword id="6354780" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Karnataka">Karnataka</keyword> assembly speaker at 6 pm yesterday. </li><li>As many as 16 MLAs — including 6 from <keyword id="123462" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Janata-Dal">Janata Dal</keyword> (JD) — had offered resignation to the speaker who didn't accept the resignations. </li><li>The MLAs accused assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar for not accepting their resignation.</li></ul>Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said that he is ready for a trust vote in Assembly, as the crisis over his government deepens. As many as 10 MLAs from the Congress resigned from the government on July 1 which weakened the Congress and Janata Dal (S) coalition government. The MLAs had stayed holed up in <keyword id="6358070" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="mumbai">Mumbai</keyword> for days since the mass resignations as the crisis to Mumbai. A few silver lines of resolution came on Thursday after the Supreme Court directed the dissenting MLAs to appear before the Assembly on Thursday evening. The Apex court had also asked the Karnataka Police to provide protection to the MLAs — Pratap Gouda Patil, Ramesh Jarkhiholi, Byrati Basavaraj, BC Patil, ST Somashekar, Arbail Sivaram Hebbar, Mahesh Kumathalli, K Gopalaiah, HD Vishwanath and Narayan Gowda. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) had also registered a complaint against the rebel MLAs for not abiding by the party rules and staying illegally at a hotel in Mumbai. The situation also heated up when Congress party leaders like Milind Deora and Shikumar were stopped from entering the hotel premises. Later, a Section 144 which bans the assembly of more than four people, was also imposed on Wednesday in Powai area where the rebel MPs were staying. The MLAs had accused that the Speaker Ramesh Kumar was not accepting their resignations, even when they were in accordance with the Indian constitution. As many as 16 MLAs — including 6 from <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/karnataka-crisis-sc-asks-rebel-mlas-to-appear-before-speaker-at-6pm/articleshow/70169817.cms">Janata Dal (JD)</a> — too had tendered resignations. This comes after the resignation by Congress MLA R Roshan Baig, who resigned on June 10. "I don't understand what is the urgency for BJP. There have been instances where such impasses have taken months to be resolved. Whatever the pressure, I am not going to move an inch away from the law and procedure," Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar told <a href="https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/karnataka/karnataka-political-crisis-live-updates-july-11-2019/article28396367.ece">The Hindu</a>. “We are now 15 MLAs who want to resign but there is no formal acceptance by Speaker. Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy braces for a trust vote, as crisis deepens

After setting an example with its e-mandi concept, now the south Indian state of Karnataka will be setting another landmark. The central government has now asked Karnataka to share details of state’s mobile-governance platform which integrates 4,187 services, both government and private, into one app, <keyword id="2652294" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mobile-One">Mobile-One</keyword>. 
 As per an Economic Times report, the <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> government is planning to facilitate other states with a similar technology and scale it to the national level. 
 The mobile app, which is growing at a rate of 10% every month and has generated business worth Rs 5 crore, is just seven months old and was launched by President <keyword id="6359124" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pranab-Mukherjee">Pranab Mukherjee</keyword>. <keyword id="67441" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="karnataka-chief-minister">Karnataka Chief Minister</keyword>, who is not so tech-savvy made it a pet-project and the app, so far, has got 1.25 crore hits and 1.5 lakh downloads. 
 Rathan U Kelkhar, CEO of the Centre for e-governance, Karnataka, told ET, "We got a letter of appreciation from the Union IT and <keyword id="46149" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Telecom-minister">Telecom minister</keyword> Ravishankar Prasad. A team from the Centre came down to see how we are implementing it. It is a one-of-a-kind App and we are making it as vibrant as possible." 
 
Under the umbrella of Digital India, PM Modi’s prime focus is mobile apps. He plans to reach out to folks of his nation through mobile devices so that they would be aware of the services and schemes government is bringing in for them. 
 
National e-Governance Division President and CEO Anoop Kumar Agarwal has said that the issue was of scaling it up nationally was "under examination right now. But this is a strong concept and it will happen across the states in near future."
