Tamil Nadu Class 12 results declared: State records 94.03 pass per cent, Kanyakumari tops list

The duo, who started their journey from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/10-Beautiful-Pictures-From-The-Longest-Train-Ride-In-India/articleshow/51421012.cms">Kanyakumari</a> in <keyword id="20154" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="tamil-nadu">Tamil Nadu</keyword> and will end it at <keyword id="798696" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Khardung-La">Khardung-la</keyword> in Jammu and <keyword id="6354495" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="kashmir">Kashmir</keyword>, have undertaken this expedition for a cause they care strongly about-girl child education. 
 This ‘<keyword id="3645214" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Cyclists-for-Change">Cyclists for Change</keyword> journey’ will see them crossing 11 states, covering a distance of 4,400 kilometres in a span of 70 days. Though Paringe and Madan have both paddled on this route before, this is their first trip together. 
 
While they travel across the length of India, raising awareness on girl child education, an online campaign on crowd funding platform Fuel A Dream is raising funds to educate girls. They aim to raise Rs 50 lakh to support education of 1500 girls for one year. 
 
“Education is the key to empower women and girls, which helps bring about social equality. When you educate a girl, you educate a family”, said Paringe as he started the journey. Madan, on the other hand is of the belief that every girl should be given the opportunity to pursue education. 
 The ride is rather unique given that the cyclists are travelling on bamboo bikes specially designed and manufactured for them by <keyword id="6369697" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Godrej">Godrej</keyword>. This is the first time in India that any cyclist will ride this route and distance on bamboo bikes, which are eco-friendly and light. 
 
 
 
 
“Our previous rides were purely out of our passion for cycling. But this time, when we were approached to ride for girl child education, we happily agreed. I am cycling because I am passionate about it and I believe every girl should drive towards her passion. Education will help this and thus we undertook this journey,” said Paringe who is a passionate mountaineer and cyclist. 
 
They cycle for approximately eight hours a day followed by rest and refreshments and are looking to complete their journey by the end of September. 
 
Proceeds from the expedition, organised by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=godrej&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Godrej</a> will go to IIMPACT, a NGO specialised in the education of a girl-child. To raise 50 lakhs for girl child education, these two cyclists are cycling from Kanyakumari to
Khardung-la

<keyword id="3286246" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ed-Hanley">Ed Hanley</keyword>, a Toronto based multi-dimensional artist, creator, performer, producer, cinematographer, recording engineer, video editor, photographer, writer and tabla player (phew!) documented his journey on the <keyword id="1103325" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="longest-train-ride">longest train ride</keyword> when he was in India recently. 
 
Hanley purchased an one way ticket the Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express,which travels 4,273km as it winds its way from the north-eastern corner of Assam to Kanyakumari the southernmost tip of mainland India. 
 
This entire journey is completed in a whopping 85 hours giving the train the prestigious title of the longest train ride in India, by both time and distance. 
 
The train usually departs Dibrugarh at 10:45pm on Saturday and arrives in Kanyakumari at around 11am Wednesday, three days and 4 nights.

New Delhi, Poll strategist <keyword id="4300245" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sunil-kanugolu" source="Orion">Sunil Kanugolu</keyword> has yet again proven to be the man with the Midas touch, plotting the Congress' amazing turnaround in Telangana months after being the architect of the grand old party's return to power in Karnataka. Starting with Prashant Kishor's I-PAC, Kanugolu was largely credited for shaping the Congress' win in Karnataka and was later accorded Cabinet rank in the Siddaramaiah government. This time, Kanugolu along with PCC chief A Revanth Reddy formed a formidable pair to chalk out the Congress' strategy to pull down the K Chandrashekhar Rao-led BRS government that was eying a third term in the southern state. The Congress was headed for victory in Telangana while it was staring at crushing defeats in the Hindi heartland states of <keyword id="6355554" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="madhya-pradesh" source="Orion">Madhya Pradesh</keyword>, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Kanugolu had also made forays in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh following a directive from the party's central leadership but regional satraps Ashok Gehlot and Kamal Nath reportedly were not on the same page as the poll strategist. Ahead of the Rajasthan elections, Kanugolu had made an assessment about the winnability of probable candidates but Gehlot reportedly did not agree to his suggestions and brought in Naresh Arora's Designboxed to construct the Congress government's narrative in the run-up to the assembly polls. Sources say that the success of Kanugolu in Karnataka and Telangana was the result of the free hand given to him and allowing his team to work freely. Kanugolu, who hails from Karnataka and is in his early 40s, has been considered largely as the brain behind the Congress' narrative in Karnataka with the 'PayCM' campaign against the BJP. In the run-up to the polls in Telangana, he highlighted the alleged corruption of the K Chandrashekhar Rao dispensation as part of Congress' campaign that seemed to have struck a chord with the people. The campaigns run by the Congress in Karnataka and Telangana have been very similar as both highlighted the alleged graft of the ruling dispensation and projected welfare guarantees that seemed to have struck an instant connection with the public. Interestingly, Kanugolu has also been involved in several BJP poll campaigns in the past. In 2018, he worked with the BJP in Karnataka and the party managed to become the single largest party with 104 seats. He had also worked on Narendra Modi's campaign in 2014, as well as the party's political campaigns in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. Kanugolu, a former consultant with McKinsey, was also associated with DMK chief MK Stalin and oversaw the party's '<keyword id="3576832" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="namakku-naame" source="Orion">Namakku Naame</keyword>' (we are for ourselves) campaign during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In 2021, he also worked with AIADMK against the DMK and led the party to win 75 seats in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Kanugolu had joined the Congress last year and worked closely with the Karnataka campaign. Though joining the aviation industry was always a dream, I realized that the robotic schedule was ruining my health and giving me no opportunity to be 'out there' in the real sense of the world. Slowly, I started taking part in marathons and ultimately hired a professional running coach. At that point, I knew tarmac would be my best friend," the 37-year-old tells IANS. In fact, she did it twice so as to finish it under 100 hours. "When I attempted it in July for the first time, it took 113 hours owing to some medical issues. However, considering my body was already acclimatized, I attempted it again after 10 days and succeded." Admitting that running as an adventure sport is yet to get its due in India especially as compared to other countries, Sufi, who has now added 'Runner' to her name officially, says it is a huge struggle to get it recognised. With no support from the Central or state governments, this record clincher, who says her partner, a cyclist, has been a great motivation, adds: "One needs to be on the street constantly, and almost lives on them, funds are indispensable. Till now, we have been managing with crowdfunding. It is a new sport, and it is a lot of struggle to get recognised. I have not got support yet from the government but we are trying to get ultra-running recognition from the government and we have got sponsorships from private companies." "You need to live on the streets for long months. We always try for it and we do get crowdfunding from platforms. Under Armour is a constant supporter. But sometimes they also struggle with it," she asserts. And it is a sacrilege to ask her about the run she enjoyed the most. Sufi keeps silent for a few seconds and then says: "Each one has thrown a different challenge, and has been across varied places and altitudes. The weather has been diverse, my own health condition perpetually plays a role... In short, it has been a different fun each time." Now all set to run across Qatar for the second time, the year 2025 will witness this pro-athlete do the 'Run Around the Globe' where she will run 30,000 km in 680 days and will be the first female runner to take this challenge. "I am preparing myself well, and extremely confident -- the two things you need the most."

Prime Video sets May 18 premiere for 'Modern Love Chennai'

The flight acceptance hot test of CE-20 engine has been carried out in the High Altitude Test facility of ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) at Mahendragiri in <keyword id="20154" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tamil-nadu" source="Orion">Tamil Nadu</keyword>. Sources said these satellites of OneWeb, the London-based satellite communications company, are expected to be launched by the NewSpace India Limited (<keyword id="7835598" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nsil" source="Orion">NSIL</keyword>), the ISRO's commercial arm, aboard LVM3 early next year. Friday's flight acceptance test comes within days of the launch of the first set of 36 OneWeb satellites by the NSIL from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC- SHAR) in <keyword id="6355143" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sriharikota" source="Orion">Sriharikota</keyword> on October 23. According to OneWeb, its partnership with NSIL and ISRO demonstrated its commitment to provide connectivity across the length and breadth of India by 2023. ISRO carries out key test of its heaviest rocket's engine

The low Earth orbit (<keyword id="91911" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="leo" source="Orion">LEO</keyword>) satellite communications company <keyword id="2686914" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="oneweb" source="Orion">OneWeb</keyword> on Thursday announced a six-year agreement with <keyword id="340671" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="hughes" source="Orion">Hughes</keyword> Network Systems to provide LEO connectivity services across India. Hughes is an innovator in satellite and multi-transport technologies and networks and part of Hughes Communications India (HCIPL), a joint venture between Hughes and <keyword id="6354287" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bharti-airtel" source="Orion">Bharti Airtel</keyword>. As part of the agreement, OneWeb will connect towns, villages, and local and regional municipalities in hardest-to-reach areas, playing a critical role in bridging the digital divide. OneWeb will also invest in setting up enabling infrastructure such as Gateways and point of presence in India to light up the services, the company said in a statement. "This announcement marks a turning point for <keyword id="1929810" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="digital-india" source="Orion">Digital India</keyword>. OneWeb's most recent satellite launch on 27 December 2021 brought its total in-orbit satellites to 394, over 60 per cent of the planned 648 LEO satellite fleet.
