"If you want to promote Kannadigas for jobs, spend more money on higher education. Give training to them. Spend more money on skill development. Spend more money on internships, spend more money on apprenticeship programs. So they all become skilled. Not like this. What are you trying to achieve by this?," Pai said, speaking on Wednesday. I am sure that before coming up with the rules of the bill, they will have due consultations with the respective ministries and more importantly, a wider consultation with the industry. So there is no need to panic. On Tuesday, the Karnataka cabinet approved a Bill that seeks to reserve 50% of management jobs and 75% of non-management jobs for locals in the private sector. The bill also seeks 100% reservation for locals in "C&amp;D" grade government jobs. On Wednesday, several industry leaders in the state objected to the move saying that it is "discriminatory" and raised apprehensions that the tech industry may suffer.

With people expressing their indignation and leaders cutting across party lines slamming Google, it quickly removed Kannada "as the ugliest language in India" and apologised to the people saying the search result did not reflect its opinion. Karnataka Minister for Kannada, Culture and Forest, <keyword id="77043" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aravind-Limbavali">Aravind Limbavali</keyword> told reporters that a legal notice would be served to Google for showing such an answer to that question. Later, he took to Twitter to express his outrage and demanded an apology from Google to Kannada and Kannadigas. Kannada language has a history of its own, having come into existence as many as 2,500 years ago, the minister said and added that the language has been the pride of Kannadigas through the ages. Showing Kannada in poor light "...is merely an attempt by Google to insult this pride of Kannadigas. I demand an apology from @Google ASAP to Kannada, Kannadigas. Legal action will be taken against Google for maligning the image of our beautiful language!" Limbavali tweeted. When contacted, a Google spokesperson said, "search isn't always perfect. Sometimes, the way content is described on the internet can yield surprising results to specific queries." "We know this is not ideal, but we take swift corrective action when we are made aware of an issue and are continually working to improve our algorithms. Naturally, these are not reflective of the opinions of Google, and we apologise for the misunderstanding and hurting any sentiments." Former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy denounced Google in a series of tweets for the outrageous answer to the language question. He sought to know why Google "behaves in an irresponsible manner" in terms of language. Others including the BJP's Bengaluru Central MP, P C Mohan slammed Google and asked it to apologise. Sharing the screenshot of the search on his Twitter handle, Mohan said Karnataka is home to the great Vijayanagara empire and the Kannada language has a rich heritage, a glorious legacy and a unique culture. Karnataka government issues legal notice to Google after search results showed Kannada as the 'ugliest language' in India

Kannadigas owe it big time to Ganjam Venkatasubbiah, who will be receiving a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=padma+shri&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Padma Shri </a>for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=literature&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">literature</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=education&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">education </a>this year. 
 
Born on August 23 1913, Venkatasubbiah spent most of his 103 years in compiling dictionaries, authoring four seminal works on dictionary science in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=kannada&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Kannada</a>, etc. 
 
Meet Venkatasubbiah, whose contribution to the world of Kannada Lexicography is vast. 
 
Venkatasubbiah is renowned for his work on Kannada dictionary science-‘Kannada Nighantu Shastra Parichaya’- which was released 100 years after the first Kannada dictionary was authored by the German priest and Indologist Reverend Ferdinand Kittel in 1894. 
 
Not only this, Venkatasubbiah’s dictionary has also been translated in Braille language by the Braille Transcription Centre of the Canara Bank Relief and Welfare Society. 
 
"I first began work on it 50 years ago. About 80 to 90 people started collecting words and we organised in alphabetical order. It took 10 years to put the Kannada words in alphabetical order. I worked for 25 to 30 years on this dictionary... eight volumes. 10 000 pages. No other language in India has a dictionary like this,” he told NDTV.
