<br /> Apart from sending message to your friends sitting miles away, now you can also transfer money to your near and dear ones using social networking site Facebook. The credit for this initiative goes to none other than <keyword id="46013" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kotak-Mahindra-Bank">Kotak Mahindra Bank</keyword> (<keyword id="2538350" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="KBM">KBM</keyword>), which has launched a Facebook-based instant fund transfer service ‘<keyword id="2555876" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="KayPay">KayPay</keyword>’.<br />
<br /> According to Deepak Sharma, KMB’s executive vice-president and head of digital initiatives, “This is a bank agnostic product, the sender and the receiver may not be our account holders. We have used the IMPS platform on the National Payments Corporation of India (<keyword id="193629" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="NPCI">NPCI</keyword>) network to make this possible.”<br />
<br />
Currently, using IMPS infrastructure, a sender can initiate fund transfer to any person through mobile phone.<br />
<br />
Sharma also highlighted that the IMPS platform, currently, has 28 banks under it and account holders of any of these banks can use the newly launched service. However, there will be no charges for either sending or receiving the money, he said.<br />
<br />
Notably, the sender will have to register on a dedicated website to access ‘KayPay’ where in he will have to give bank account details and the bank’s MMID, apart from personal credentials.<br />
<br />
Once a user will complete the registration process, then, he can initiate transactions. It is worth noting, if the beneficiary has not registered on ‘KayPay’, he will be directed to a page to register for completing a transaction. However, if the beneficiary has already registered on ‘KayPay’, the transaction will be executed faster.<br />
<br />
Examining the security aspect of this initiative, Sharma claimed it is fully secured, keeping in mind that the Facebook account gets compromised as it uses two-factor authentication to complete a transaction.<br />

Jaipur, Apr 28 () Drones are being used for making public announcements and surveillance during the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in Rajasthan, an official said on Tuesday.<p>He said a Jaipur based startup has modified the drones according to requirement of Rajasthan Police.</p><p>The drones have helped police in the lockdown implementation by assisting in monitoring the movement of people and making announcements, said DG (Law and Order) M L Lather.</p><p>He said, "Drones are very helpful in keeping track of the movement of people in crowded areas. The movement of people in streets can also be monitored with the help of drones."</p><p>They have been modified and customised by a startup at Malviya National Institute of Technology according to requirement of police, the head of start-up incubation centre Jyotirymay Mathur said.</p>The drones have been hired by police and deployed in different areas, including Dausa and Jhunjhunu, the official said. COVID-19 lockdown: Drones being used in R'than to monitor people, make announcements

Jaipur, May 8 () A three-day-old, girl found infected with coronavirus in Rajasthan's Nagaur district was cured and discharged from the hospital on Friday.<p> The baby is now 22-day-old, Nagaur Deputy Chief Medical Officer Sesharam Chaudhary told . </p><p> He said a woman admitted to Basni Primary Health Center in Nagaur district had given birth to the baby on April 16.</p><p> As the rest of her family, including her mother and father, were already infected, her sample was taken for testing on April 19 and she was found infected.After this, the mother and child were referred to Nagaur District Hospital for treatment. </p><p> Dr Chanudhary said the child's two consecutive reports were found negative for the infection with the last and second report coming on April 23 when she was admitted to a separate ward as her mother was still positive for the infection. </p><p> The mother's second report turned negative on Thursday, following which the baby was handed over to her mother on Friday and both of them were discharged from the hospital.  </p> Basni is a hotspot of coronavirus infection in Nagaur district where 106 have tested positive till date. Jaipur, Apr 28 () People in tribal-dominated Sagwara of Rajasthan's Dungarpur district are making Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits to help the nation in the fight against coronavirus.<p> Workers, mostly women, are making 2,000 kits every day catering to the need of corona warriors in their fight against the virus.</p><p> After receiving the order from the government, a private company has roped tribals in the work.</p><p> "The work started 10 days ago. Earlier 900 kits were being made every day, now this has been increased to 2,000 per day," Rohit Trivedi, director of the NZ Seasonal Wear company said.</p><p> Trivedi said most of the workers are tribals who have been provided training by the company. Among the nearly 200 workers, employed at the company amid the lockdown, 50 per cent are women.</p><p> The Centre had on Monday said the production capacity of the coverall PPE kits are required by medical personnel treating coronavirus-infected patients in the country has been increased to more than one lakh daily.</p><p> About 50 per cent of the coverall PPE kits production in the country is in Bengaluru. Also the kits are being manufactured by approved units at Dungarpur in Rajasthan, Tirupur, Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Ahmedabad and Vadodara in Gujarat, Phagwara and Ludhiana in Punjab, Kusumnagar and Bhiwandi in Maharashtra, and Kolkata, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and some other places.</p> On March 2, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare decided on PPE kits availability after international companies refrained from supplying them. </div></div>Two tech executives played the role of superhero Thursday morning when they thwarted a man's alleged attempt to steal a drone and a remote-control helicopter from a San Francisco Radio Shack.
<p>According to <a href="http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2015/01/15/2-san-francisco-tech-execs-help-nab-suspected-drone-thief-radio-shack-greg-forrest-greenhawk-financial-services-jeff-manheimer-tripping-com-ceo-coo/">CBS San Francisco</a>, a man allegedly entered the Polk Street store at around 10 a.m., grabbed the drone and helicopter, then ran out.</p>
<p>Greg Forrest, president and CEO of software company Greenhawk Financial Services, was in the store at the time. He reportedly chased the thief out of the store and engaged him in a fist fight.</p>
<p>"Punches and pushing and everything else," Forrest <a href="http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2015/01/15/2-san-francisco-tech-execs-help-nab-suspected-drone-thief-radio-shack-greg-forrest-greenhawk-financial-services-jeff-manheimer-tripping-com-ceo-coo/">said to CBS</a>. "My prescription glasses were crushed. I detained him, but he was strong enough to get away."</p>
<p>&#xa0;About a block away, the thief encountered Jeff Manheimer, COO and cofounder of vacation rental site Tripping.com. Manheimer tackled him to the ground, holding him there until police arrived.&#xa0;</p>
<p>"<span>I just barreled into him in the middle of the intersection and took him out," Manheimer said.</span></p>
<p><span>Forrest, at least, saw the humor in the situation.</span></p>
<p>"It's been a crazy day because CEOs and COOs are not supposed to be running down the street tackling people," Forrest <a href="http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2015/01/15/2-san-francisco-tech-execs-help-nab-suspected-drone-thief-radio-shack-greg-forrest-greenhawk-financial-services-jeff-manheimer-tripping-com-ceo-coo/">said</a>.</p>

Two Tech Execs Tackled A Man Accused Of Robbing A Radio Shack

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>One of Russia's most alarming new weapons capabilities may be on the move soon.</p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><a href="http://www.janes.com/article/52424/kbm-says-verba-manpads-now-being-sold-internationally">Jane's reports</a> that KBM, a state-owned armament company specializing in missile systems, recently presented its 9K333 Verba man-portable air <keyword id="6354810" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Defense">defense</keyword> system (MANPADS). </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">At an arms fair this week, the company announced that the weapon had been cleared for export - although KBM designer general Velariy Kashin would not reveal the foreign buyer or buyers.</span></p><p>According to Kashin, the 9K333 Verba is "the most capable" MANPADS ever developed, according to Jane's. Missiles are guided to their targets using<span> a "three-channel optical seeker, which operates in the ultraviolet, near-infrared, and mid-infrared wavelengths," a feature that increases the weapon's accuracy and speeds up its target acquisition. </span></p><p>As <a href="http://www.armamentresearch.com/9k333-verba-manpads-now-in-service-with-russian-military/">Armament Research Services explains</a>, the 9K333's targeting system is specially built to fool its targets' anti-missile systems: Because the warheads contains three infrared sensors that are constantly cross-checking against one another<span>, it is "even harder for a target aircraft to disrupt the system using decoys." The missiles' </span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">"seeker" also allows projectiles to better distinguish between aircraft and heat pockets that might throw off a less-advanced weapon's targeting system. </span></p><p><span>The 9K333 can strike aircraft at up to 13,500 feet. The 9K38 Igla, a somewhat comparable system, only weighs about 27 pounds, making the 9K333 is an incredibly light-weight, mobile, and user-friendly tool for shooting planes out of the sky.<br /></span><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;"> </span><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></p><p><span>The 9K333's first export license a potentially ominous development. Small arms proliferation isn't quite tas galvanizing issue as, say, the possible spread of nuclear weapons. </span></p><p><span>But while a nuclear warhead hasn't been detonated for offensive purposes since 1945, MANPADS are one of the most democratizing weapons ever made, spreading anti-aircraft capabilities to armies and militia groups around the world. </span></p><p><span>There are scores of irregular forces and terrorist groups that would love to get their hands on something like the 9K333, and that could use it to wreak havoc on US or allied targets.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Worryingly, it doesn't require all that much technical sophistical to down a low-flying aircraft with MANPADS that are less capable than the 9K333. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">In the video below, rebels in Syria score a hit on an Assad regime helicopter using a Chinese-made FN-6:</span></p><p></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">That weapon, which debuted in 2005, <a href="http://www.armyrecognition.com/china_chinese_army_missile_systems_vehicles/fn-6_man_portable_air_defense_missile_system_technical_data_sheet_specifications_pictures_video.html">can hit aircraft at 4,000 meters</a>, about 500 meters shy of the 9K333 Verba's ceiling. Though an older and less effective weapon than the 9K333, the FN-6's manufacturers <a href="http://missilethreat.com/the-chinese-black-market/">claim that it has a 70% success rate</a> against aircraft flying within range.</span></p><p>The video show just how easy it is to operate these weapons: The Syrian fighters aren't performing any complicated on-the-fly calculations to figure out firing trajectory and they don't have any apparent technical means of determining their target's altitude or speed.</p><p>They just point the launcher in the general direction of the enemy aircraft, quickly eyeball their target, and push a button - bringing down a helicopter that was probably orders of magnitude more expensive than the weapons system that destroyed it.</p><p>This encapsulates the danger of MANPADS, a topic that's always an important bit of subtext for any US debate over aiding non-state groups.</p><p>These days, pretty much any able-bodied adult can learn how to take down an aircraft flying at near-commercial altitude, using a missile system that weighs less than 50 pounds and that can remain operable for decades.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>In maybe the most notorious example of the danger of MANPADS, Stinger Missiles the US provided to anti-Soviet mujahideen in the 80s <a href="http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052970204138204576598851109446780">were later turned on American forces in Afghanistan</a>. More recently, MANPADS looted from a Syrian government airfield <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/checkpoint/wp/2014/08/25/islamic-state-might-have-taken-advanced-manpads-from-syrian-airfield/">may have ended up with ISIS fighters</a>.</p><p>There's an unknowably vast range of dangerous end-uses for any weapon. But MANPADS can deny a conventional force of air superiority and decisively shift battlefield momentum. <span style="line-height: 1.5em;">And now, Russia is developing perhaps the most advanced MANPADS in history and shipping it off to unknown foreign buyers. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">As if that isn't alarming enough, there's evidence that the 9K333 may have already seen action with Russian-supported irregular forces in Ukraine. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">A <a href="http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=228_1402147264&amp;comments=1">video from mid-2014</a> depicts members of the Vostok Battalion, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/ukraine-crisis-is-entering-a-dangerous-new-phase-2014-6">a pro-Russian militia founded in Chechnya by Russian intelligence operatives</a> that was sent into Ukraine last year, posing with the weapons. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Around the same time, pro-Kiev media claimed that a Ukrainian government plane had been <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V22Cwgc1_co">shot down by a 9K333</a> outside of the separatist stronghold of Slaviansk.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">The Ukrainian separatists have questionable trigger discipline as far as anti-aircraft weapons are concerned - pro-Russian forces killed 295 people by shooting down a Malaysian airlines plane on July 17th, 2014, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/r-fragment-from-mh17-crash-site-supports-missile-theory-dutch-tv-2015-3">likely with a Buk missile Moscow had provided the fighters</a>.</span></span></p><p>Last year, Russia sent one of the most advanced shoulder-fired missile systems ever built to irregular military proxies that later proved themselves to be wildly irresponsible stewards of high-end weaponry.</p><p>Now, a government reeling from EU and US sanctions is granting export licenses for sales of that system to undisclosed foreign buyers - something that could have untold consequences when the 9K333 inevitably falls into the wrong hands.<span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>    <div class="margin-top">        <h3>NOW WATCH: <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/tsa-personal-items-not-allowed-planes-jfk-airport-2014-11">Here Are The Ridiculous Items People Have Tried To Bring On Planes Over The Last 3 Months</a></h3>        <div>            <div>        <div class="ooyala-video-player" data-video-autoplay="false" data-video-id="UwOGxzcTp2K9kP-qnjTq9ko-XYVIC7aS" data-player-variable="ooyalapopvideo" id="ooyalaplayer_popvideo" style="width:1280px;height:720px"></div>        </div>        </div>            </div>

This has ranged from a mild distrust of the establishment to full-on arguments of deliberate exclusion, a #YangMediaBlackout.&#xa0;</p><p>Yang's performance in the debates - two of which have been hosted by MSNBC so far - has been another sore point for the Yang Gang, and data analyzed by Insider shows they have a point: given Yang's polling position, he speaks considerably less at debates than one would otherwise expect.&#xa0;</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p>We compared the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/11/20/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">New York Times' measurements</a> of speaking time <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/06/26/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">at</a> <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/06/27/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">the</a>&#xa0;<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/07/30/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">debates</a> <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/07/31/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">going</a>&#xa0;<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/09/12/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">back</a> <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/10/15/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">to</a>&#xa0;<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/11/20/us/elections/debate-speaking-time.html">May</a> to <a href="https://morningconsult.com/2020-democratic-primary/">the Morning Consult polling from immediately preceding the debates</a>. For each time a candidate appeared at a debate, we had how long they got to speak and how they did in polls right before the debate.</p><p>Every dot on this chart is a single candidate appearance at a debate. The higher they are on the chart, the more they got to talk. The further right they are on the chart, the better they polled that week.&#xa0;</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>In short, Yang has spoken less than a candidate polling at his level would be expected to at every single debate he's been to so far. He is the only remaining candidate in the race for whom this is the case.&#xa0;</p><p>In the interest of absolutely full disclosure here, I concede we did use what Yang claims is his favorite tool here, math. The trendline is a regression that tells us basically what a person's speaking time would be expected to be given their polling. This turns up some cool facts, such as:</p><ul><li>About 42% of the variance in speaking time is explained by how well a candidate was polling at that time. This makes sense: there's a reason some candidates get more questions than others, and it's because they're better known or favored.&#xa0;</li><li>The formula of that line gives us a pretty interesting rule of thumb: any candidate who makes the debate state is expected to get about 9 minutes of speaking time regardless of their polling, and then an additional minute for every 4 points they're up in the poll.</li><li>That means based on the overall data, a candidate polling at 0%, like <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/who-is-tom-steyer-bio-age-family-key-positions-2019-7">Tom Steyer</a>, would be expected to talk about 9 minutes, while a candidate polling in the 20% neighborhood, like Sen. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/who-is-bernie-sanders-bio-age-family-key-positions-2019-3">Bernie Sanders</a>&#xa0;would be expected to get about 14 minutes.&#xa0;</li></ul><h2>The big picture: Yang is missing out on valuable air time.&#xa0;</h2><p>Based on this information, we can figure out a crucial statistic: over the course of 5 debates, who's outperforming their polling based on speaking time, and who's underperforming?</p><p>For example: at the October 15 debate, Andrew Yang spoke for 8 minutes, 32 seconds, per the New York Times. A candidate polling at 3% would, per the regression, be estimated to speak for 10 minutes, 3 seconds, so I can conclude that Yang lost on about a minute and a half.</p><p>On the other hand, former Rep. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/who-is-beto-orourke-bio-age-family-key-positions-2019-3">Beto O'Rourke</a> was also polling at 3% the week of the October debate, but spoke 13 minutes, 9 seconds. I'd conclude Beto got about 3 minutes more than I'd otherwise expect.&#xa0;</p><p>After five debates, this is seriously starting to add up, and to Yang's deficit. Overall, given his polling we'd expect Yang to have had almost 15 minutes more time spent speaking on stage. Here's how each candidate did:</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><h2>What's going on here?</h2><p>There are plenty of explanations that are hardly nefarious. In debates, when a candidate is acknowledged by a rival, they get time to respond. Yang's outsider angle means that he's not exactly in the thick of it when it comes to the big discussions about health care policy that have defined so many of the debate time.&#xa0;</p><p>Consistent with his style and messaging throughout the campaign, Yang hasn't attempted to talk over, interrupting, or land targeted punches at his fellow candidates in any of the five debates he's participated in. In the last debate, he even complimented Steyer's efforts to combat climate change.</p><p>"A bunch of career politicians interrupting and launching personal attacks on each other really isn't Andrew's style, that's Trump game," senior Yang campaign adviser Randy Jones&#xa0;<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/andrew-yang-ready-bounce-back-disappointing-first-debate-preformance-2019-7">told Insider in July</a>. "If Democrats try to play Trump's game, we're going to lose."</p><p>Plus, he's hardly alone: Sanders'&#xa0;supporters may have justifiable beef, as their candidate has absolutely been in the middle of some of the most contentious internecine fights, but nevertheless is still coming in below expectations based on what befits his polling. Biden, as a strong early frontrunner, never dominated the debate to the same extent that his polling dominated much of the field.</p><p>More analysis is likely needed, but a perfect counterpoint is Sen. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/who-is-cory-booker-bio-age-family-key-positions-2019-3">Cory Booker</a>. Indeed, both Booker and Yang have been peers in polling, and each was expected to speak for 49.8 minutes over the course of the five debates. But while Booker has spoken for over 62 minutes, Yang's gotten just 35. Booker consistently spoke more than one to five minutes more than he'd be expected to, which indeed is the mark of a savvy operator and talented debater.&#xa0;</p><h2><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></h2><h2>Why Yang's fans are ticked.</h2><p>Yang's fervent backers, who term themselves the Yang Gang, have proven themselves to be an incredibly valuable asset as they've powered Yang's impressive grassroots fundraising and his rise in Democratic primary polling, both of which have enabled him to qualify for all the debates that have taken place so far.&#xa0;</p><p>While Yang is running as a Democrat, his never having held elected office or being formally attached to a political party has given him a remarkable amount of latitude to carve out his own distinct political brand outside the typical confines of party <keyword id="6358883" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="politics">politics</keyword>, and he's brought his unique perspective to every debate stage.</p><p>But Yang's highly&#xa0;<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/undecided-general-election-voters-prefer-biden-yang-2020-democrats-2019-10">unique and unprecedented cross-partisan appeal</a>&#xa0;could be turning out to be a double-edged sword. While he's&#xa0;<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/andrew-yang-locking-down-more-supporters-non-frontrunners-2019-11">locking down loyal supporters</a>&#xa0;at a faster rate than any of the other non-frontrunner candidates, his supporters argue that because he is not a traditional politician running within the exiting parameters of Democratic politics, his message is being silenced by the mainstream media.&#xa0;</p><p>For the past several months, Yang's loyal base of extremely online supporters has been collecting meticulous evidence of what the see as bias against Yang and other outsider candidates from big media outlets using the hashtag <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23yangmediablackout&amp;src=typeahead_click">#YangMediaBlackout.&#xa0;</a></p><p>The Yang campaign and the Yang Gang's public war against the media gained national attention the first Democratic debate in Miami on June 27, were Yang asserted in off-the-cuff remarks to supporters that MSNBC cutting off his mic <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/andrew-yang-ready-bounce-back-disappointing-first-debate-preformance-2019-7">contributed to him speaking for just two minutes and 38 seconds</a> - the least of any candidate - a claim the network thoroughly denied and Yang <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/democratic-presidential-candidate-andrew-yang-view-forward-upcoming/story?id=64179529">later walked back.</a></p><p>Prominent Yang supporter&#xa0;<a href="https://twitter.com/scottsantens">Scott Santens</a>&#xa0;has&#xa0;<a href="https://vocal.media/theSwamp/a-visual-history-of-the-yang-media-blackout">created an extensively detailed graphic and website</a> visualizing all the times since mid-March that cable <keyword id="6355005" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="news">news</keyword> graphics and chyrons of 2020 candidates' polling or debate qualification aired on networks including CNN and MSNBC have inexplicably excluded Yang from their coverage.</p><p>Most recently, the MSNBC show "Up" with David Gura&#xa0;<a href="https://twitter.com/UPonMSNBC/status/1196177898178334722">apologized for a graphic excluding Yang</a> just days before the November 20 MSNBC and Washington Post debate, infuriating Yang supporters even more.&#xa0;</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p>Yang sent a warning to the network in his Saturday tweets, <a href="https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1198301746134695947">writing</a>, "The whole time we have gotten stronger. This is actually bad for MSNBC. It will only get worse after I make the next debates and keep rising in the polls.
