At the time, the twins called the former president "pro-bitcoin, pro-crypto, and pro-business."Records of these crypto donation figures were released just as Trump launched his own crypto banking platform, World Liberty Financial, on Tuesday.Some 20 billion digital tokens priced at 1.5 cents each were put on sale on Tuesday. As of Tuesday evening, around 3% of the on-sale tokens had been bought, bringing the sales to around $300 million, per the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://sg.news.yahoo.com/trumps-crypto-platform-falters-first-001000000.html">AFP</a>.The former president has been positioning himself as the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-going-for-crypto-bro-vote-world-liberty-financial-2024-9">pro-crypto candidate this election cycle</a>. Who knows what they are," Trump said of cryptocurrencies.But in May, Trump hosted an event in Mar-a-Lago, where he <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://twitter.com/frankdegods/status/1788377000941367340?s=46">said</a> he would accept cryptocurrency donations for his campaign.In July, the former president also said at the annual Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville that he believes cryptocurrency is "<a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-bitcoin-stance-2024-7">the steel industry of 100 years ago.</a>""I think you're just in your infancy," Trump told the meeting of crypto industry leaders."I can see it happening. In just 15 years, bitcoin has gone from merely an idea posted anonymously on an internet message board to being the ninth most valuable asset anywhere in the world," he added.Trump added at Bitcoin 2024 that if elected, he'll lay out a road map "to ensure that the United States will be the crypto capital of the planet and the bitcoin superpower of the world."Meanwhile, big contributions from major donors are flooding into the Trump campaign.The FEC filings released this week reflected donations from <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/marc-andreessen-ben-horowitz-plan-trump-pac-donations-report-2024-7">Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz</a> of the venture capital company Andreessen Horowitz. The duo donated <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/marc-andreessen-ben-horowitz-donated-millions-pro-trump-pac-2024-10">$2.5 million</a> each to the pro-Trump super PAC "Right for America."<a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-endorses-trump-after-pennsylvania-rally-incident-2024-7">Elon Musk,</a> one of Trump's most prominent backers, has contributed <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-trump-america-super-pac-2024-10">nearly $75 million</a> from July to September to America PAC — a pro-Trump super PAC that Musk established, according to a document filed with the FEC.To be sure, Trump isn't the only candidate who has won the support of cryptocurrency investors.Vice President Kamala Harris' billionaire backer, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mark-cuban-still-a-biden-man-after-bad-debate-2024-7">Mark Cuban,</a> praised her position on cryptocurrencies."She understands the connection crypto has to young people," Cuban wrote in an X post on October 14."She understands it's a valuable technology that needs to grow here," he added.When approached for comment, a Trump campaign spokesman referred Business Insider to the president's statements on crypto during "media interviews, speeches, and social media posts from the last 20 months."

It was <a target="_blank" href="https://www.investing.com/economic-calendar/cpi-69">expected</a> to increase 0.1% after no month-over-month change in May.Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose 3.3% for the 12 months ending June. This follows the 3.4% year-over-year increase in May and differs slightly from the forecast of 3.4%. The latest figure is the lowest rate since April 2021.Additionally, core CPI rose 0.1% from May to June. The forecast was 0.2%, which would have matched the previous month-over-month increase.The slowdown in inflation comes just a couple weeks before the Fed's next meeting. While observers and markets still broadly expect the central bank to hold interest rates steady at the end of this month, a slowing <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/unemployment-rate-job-growth-june-economic-data-2024-7">labor market</a> and cooler inflation suggest rate cuts could be coming as soon as this fall. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.investing.com/indices/us-spx-500-futures">Stock futures</a> jumped after the report, as investors look forward to those potential rate cuts."I think it's past time for them to cut interest rates," Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics, told Business Insider. "I think they have achieved their objective of full employment and inflation at target."Zandi also noted, "They run the increasing risk of breaking something if they don't lower rates."The food index rose 0.2% from May to June, slightly greater than the 0.1% month-over-month increase in May. It rose 2.2% from June 2023 to June 2024 after a 2.1% increase in May; this year-over-year rate has been pretty steady in the past few months, with multiple months of 2.2% increases.The energy index declined 2.0% yet again from the preceding month. While it increased 1.0% for the 12 months ending June, that's way down from the 3.7% increase in May.The shelter index rose 0.2% month over month in June after a series of 0.4% increases. The last time it rose by as low as 0.2% was in August 2021. "The index for gasoline fell 3.8 percent in June, after declining 3.6 percent in May, more than offsetting an increase in shelter," the BLS news release stated.Shelter's year-over-year increase continued to slow in June, with an increase of 5.2% after May's year-over-year increase of 5.4%. The gas index declined 2.5% for the 12 months ending June.

"At Rs 1,189 crore, growing 31 per cent YoY (year-on-year), the company reported its highest ever and 19th consecutive quarter of PAT growth on the back of strong operational performance and execution excellence across all its businesses of generation, transmission &amp; distribution, and renewables," Tata Power said in a statement. According to the statement, these businesses contributed 84 per cent of the PAT (net profit) in Q1FY25, compared to 72 per cent in the same period in FY24. The statement showed that the consolidated net profit before exceptional items was Rs 906 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2023. The company's revenue rose 12 per cent YoY to a record high of Rs 16,810 crore (from Rs 15,003 crore in Q1 FY24), and EBITDA grew 11 per cent to Rs 3,350 crore in the reported quarter (from Rs 3,005 crore in Q1 FY24). EBITDA refers to earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. "All our businesses have grown profitably on the back of operational efficiency, execution excellence, and sustained business momentum," said Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Power. He informed that the planned capex for this financial year is Rs 20,000 crore and the company is committed to adopting and leading the new and emerging clean energy technologies, including pumped hydro projects, hydropower projects in Bhutan, and opportunities to develop small modular nuclear reactors as the government policy evolves. The company has recorded a capex investment of Rs 4,000 crore in Q1FY25. It has a clean and green installed capacity of 6.1 GW as of Q1FY25, accounting for 41 per cent of the capacity, with another 5.3 GW under execution. The combined order pipeline for utility-scale EPC and solar rooftop, including group captive, is Rs 15,500 crore. Tata Power is poised to garner 20 per cent market share in the residential rooftop segment on the back of its new solar manufacturing facility and strong pan-India channel partner network, it said.
