Those who clear India's Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) may get a shot at UK's Queen's University

Sisodia also noted that the ‘next generation board’ will not be a replacement of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The move aims to help students prepare for school and entrance examinations at the same time. The new board will have separate grades for all subjects, focussing on the career interest of the student. "You have four grades for subjects. For instance, divide science into four grades — science for doctors and engineers, science for sportsperson, science for humanities. If a child wants to become a journalist, he can take A grade language and maybe C grade of science so that if he has to cover science, he is well-versed with the basics," Sisodia explained. The move aims to provide a blended learning experience to students. As of now, the school curriculum helps them with only 10% of entrance examination syllabus, making them go for extra coaching classes. This comes on the back of massive opposition in the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/cbse-exam-registration-fee-hike-rolled-back/articleshow/70669606.cms">examination fee hikes</a> rolled out by CBSE. The board increased the exam registration fee for SC and ST students by 24 times, making it ₹1,200 from the existing ₹50. It also doubled the exam fee for class 10th and 12th students of general category to ₹1,500, which was ₹750. However, it rolled back the fee to ₹50 for the Scheduled Caste(SC)/ Scheduled Tribes (ST) students studying at government schools. Delhi will get a new education board which will blend entrance exam prep with school syllabus

As the results for CBSE, ICSE and most state boards have been declared, the students are now set for the entrance examinations for top-notch colleges. According to media reports, this year, IIT Roorkee will conduct the examination and the admit cards will be available to download till 27 May 2019. The students can view and download their admit cards from official website jeeadv.ac.in. JEE Advanced is the next phase of examination after JEE Mains. The students that have cleared the Mains examination can register for the Advanced test. Nearly 2,24,000 students qualified for the JEE Mains examination this year. Government’s Common Admission Test to rope in 15 central universities from next year

<ul><li>The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the <keyword id="178605" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Joint-Entrance-Examination">Joint Entrance Examination</keyword> (JEE) are two of the most competitive exams, not only in <keyword id="3658" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword> but globally as well. </li><li>The <keyword id="581232" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Testing-Agency">National Testing Agency</keyword> (NTA) has announced that they will provide free coaching to aspirants starting next year through their test practice centers. </li><li>While the move may empower candidates from rural and semi-urban regions, it may also deal a blow to India’s booming coaching industry.</li></ul>In a new initiative taken up by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India, they will be providing <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/education/news/free-govt-coaching-for-jee-neet-from-2019/articleshow/65600522.cms?from=mdr">free coaching for students</a> preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The NTA plans on converting their test practice centers to serve as teaching centers starting 2019. There are around 2,697 test practice centers will be operational starting 1 September. While the JEE ranks second in the world with respect to its toughness, no other examination has been in the news as much as the NEET. In fact, the NEET was discontinued altogether back in 2013 before making a comeback three years later. Even now, the <a href="https://www.dailyo.in/variety/will-jee-neet-twice-a-year-help-students-medical-engineering-cbse-national-testing-agency/story/1/25387.html">decision</a> to conduct the exam twice a year, announced in July, is in flux with reports <a href="https://www.indiatoday.in/education-today/news/story/neet-2019-might-not-be-conducted-twice-a-year-1310614-2018-08-10">suggesting</a> that it might be rolled back all together. Impact on the coaching industry Even with cut-offs being lowered, the exams increase in their level of competitiveness with each year as more and more applicants come forward. And, with more applicants coming on-board, the otherwise unorganised coaching industry is booming. In turn, the financial burden of pursuing <keyword id="3113818" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="engineering-in-India">engineering in India</keyword> is becoming an increasingly big issue for many aspirants as these coaching centres charge a bomb for their classes. A study by ASSOCHAM reveals that 70% of the parents, right from high-income families to the bottom stratum of the social hierarchy, are in the favor of spending hefty sums at these coaching institutes in the name of education. Reports <a href="https://ideasmakemarket.com/2013/09/aug-entry16-analysis-of-private-coaching-industry-in-india.html">indicate</a> that middle-class parents shell-out nearly one-third of their income so that their children can attend these private tuitions. But despite these private tuitions flourishing across the country, the reality of the situation remains unaltered. An exam like the JEE can only be cleared by 5,500 and more than 300,000 students appear for the exam. It’s that extreme level of competition that has led to the coaching industry showing a consistent growth of 35% over the past six years. And, that is exactly why free coaching for students will deal a big blow to the industry. That being said, the notion that private education is superior to public education still prevails in India. There might not be an actual loss for the coaching institution since the coaching centers don't cater to students who can’t afford tuition anyway. According to the Human Resource Development Ministry, the aim is to empower candidates from rural and semi-urban centres. While the NEET is the national level entrance exam to gain admission into any graduate medical course in a government or a private medical college, the JEE is an all-India exam for admission into India’s leading engineering colleges like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Indian government is rolling out free coaching for two of the toughest exams in the world

In the several education reforms announced by Finance minister <keyword id="42575" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arun-Jaitley">Arun Jaitley</keyword>, he has proposed to establish a <keyword id="581232" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Testing-Agency">National Testing Agency</keyword> which will conduct all the academic entrance examinations in India. 
 
This will take away the burden from Central Board of Secondary Education and All India Council for Technical Education in terms of the administration work related to examinations.

Apart from school exams at Class 10 and Class 12 level for CBSE affiliated schools, CBSE conducts major higher education related entrances in the absence of any national testing body. 
 
It conducts the Joint Entrance Exam-main (JEE Main) for engineering schools including IITs, and the National Eligibility Test for UGC for selecting professors in college and university system.

Jaitley just announced a National Testing Agency, so CBSE doesn't have to bother about academic entrance exams

The <keyword id="2834729" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Joint-Seat-Allocation-Authority">Joint Seat Allocation Authority</keyword> is conducting counselling for <keyword id="7767223" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="josaa-2019">JOSAA 2019</keyword>. This is for the students who have appeared for the JEE Mains to register for a seat at NITs while the students who have qualified JEE Advanced examination are eligible for the seat allocation in any of the IITs. The students can register for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority on the official website josaa.nic.in and fill in their choices. The counselling process will commence from today i.e. 16 June and will go on till 25 June 2019. The process will be conducted 7 rounds including 2 mock sessions. While the registrations for AAT (architecture aptitude test) will begin from 21 June 2019. The candidates are required to fill in the choice of colleges in a decreasing order of their preference. However, there is no bar on the number of choices. The students need to lock their choices to save the college preference. In case a student wants to withdraw a seat, he/she can report it until the sixth round of counselling. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority has added 107 new institutions to the process this year.
