<p>New Kids on the Block singer <keyword id="871652" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Joey-McIntyre">Joey McIntyre</keyword> ran in today's <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/explosion-at-boston-marathon-2013-4" target="_blank">Boston Marathon</a> where multiple explosions have gone off near the finish line.</p>
<p>According to McIntyre's <a href="https://twitter.com/joeymcintyre" target="_blank">Twitter feed</a>, the singer finished the race nearly five minutes before the first explosion and escaped the scene safely. </p>

New Kids On The Block Singer Joey McIntyre Finished Boston Marathon Minutes Before Explosions

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Warning: There are major spoilers below for the end of "Fuller House."</li><li>A number of special guests from the original "Full House" attend D.J., Stephanie, and Kimmy's triple wedding, including Danny's ex fiancée, Vicky, Kimmy's ex, Viper, and Michelle's friend, Derek. </li><li>"Most of the people that were sitting there for the wedding pretty much came for free and just sat there because they wanted to be a part of the show. Tanner-Fuller, told Insider.</li><li>The Olsen twins do not reprise their role as Michelle Tanner. </li><li>Cameron Bure also called up Joey McIntyre to see if he would officiate the wedding.</li><li>"I said, 'Do you want to be a part of this? Do you want to be in our series finale?' And he was like, 'I would never pass up the opportunity,'" said Cameron Bure.</li></ul><p>If you're hoping to see Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen pop up on the final episodes of "<a href="http://insider.com/category/fuller-house">Fuller House</a>," which are now streaming on <a href="http://insider.com/category/netflix">Netflix</a>, don't hold your breath. </p><p>"No. We didn't try. It was made very clear to us early on that they did not want to be a part of the show, so that ended," Candace Cameron Bure told Insider on Monday when asked if they attempted to get the sisters to return for the finale, which features a triple wedding for their onscreen sisters D.J. and Stephanie.</p><p><div type="image" title="stephanie dj tanner fuller house 518" height="649" width="1068" msid="76165239" hostid="261"></div></p><p>The twins played Michelle, the youngest Tanner sister, on the original long-running series "Full House." Though the duo doesn't make an appearance at their sisters' wedding, the finale is filled with many other surprise guests to make the event feel extra special, including the return of Joey McIntyre. </p><p>Cameron Bure shared her role in getting McIntyre to appear on the series again and how several actors reprised their original characters for small cameos.</p><h2><strong>How Joey McIntyre returned to 'Fuller House': Candace Cameron Bure simply called and asked.</strong></h2><p>Previously seen on season two of "Fuller House," Danny Tanner hired the "New Kids on the Block" singer to officiate D.J., Stephanie, and Kimmy's triple wedding.</p><p><div type="image" title="fuller house 211 joey mcintyre" height="1667" width="2500" msid="76165241" hostid="261"></div></p><p>"I had a little hand in getting Joey McIntyre," said Cameron Bure. "I sat with our showrunners and we talked about who we wanted to officiate the wedding and we wanted a fun surprise guest."</p><p>"I said, 'Well, if you're going to ask me or Andrea [Barber], I know hands down we'd love it to be Joey McIntyre.' So they said, 'Oh, we think that'd be hysterical.' So I said, 'Let me call him.' And I called Joey."</p><p>Cameron Bure said it was as simple as asking the singer if he wanted to be in the series finale.</p><p>"He was like, 'I would never pass up the opportunity,'" added Cameron Bure. "It was as easy as that. So, we got our first choice. And he was super funny. "It infused the comedy in that portion of the wedding because we didn't want any big stunts during the wedding."</p><h2>'There were no background extras at the wedding': How several actors reprised their 'Full House' characters for the finale.</h2><p><div type="image" title="vicky fuller house 518" height="1440" width="2560" msid="76165250" hostid="261"></div></p><p>In addition to McIntyre, the finale included many surprise cameos for longtime "Full House" fans. Gail Edwards returns again as Danny Tanner's ex-fiancée, Vicky, David Lipper appears as D.J.'s ex, Viper, and Scott Menville, who played Kimmy's ex-boyfriend, Duane, gets a quick line during the nuptials.</p><p><div type="image" title="duane fuller house" height="608" width="811" msid="76165251" hostid="261"></div></p><p>The return of Blake McIver Ewing as Derek Boyd, Michelle's childhood friend, was a favorite of Cameron Bure's. His character winds up auditioning to officiate the triple wedding with a rendition of "The Yankee Doodle Boy."</p><p>"I think he was the standout surprise guest. I loved that he came back for it," said Cameron Bure. "We wanted to bring back everyone who was willing to come back." </p><p><div type="image" title="derek boyd fuller house" height="1638" width="1192" msid="76165254" hostid="261"></div></p><p>According to the actress, the producers and writers had an entire list of who they wanted to try and bring back for the finale. They collaborated on who they thought those guests should be. It wasn't tough to get most people involved.</p><p>"When they said that, we were like, "Oh my gosh. That'd be so great if he wanted to come back and do a little 'Yankee Doodle Boy,' because he was so funny on the original show," Cameron Bure added of McIver Ewing's return. "I thought he just did a fantastic job. He nailed it. He made me laugh out loud the most of anyone on the finale show."</p><p>"And I'll tell you, most of the people that were sitting there for the wedding pretty much came for free and just sat there because they wanted to be a part of the show," said Cameron Bure. "It meant something to them. But Jimmy and Kimmy Gibbler's parents were among the no-shows.</p><p>"It was something that they thought about and because we knew it was the last season, I think it was hard for the writers to introduce what would have been two very significant characters," Candace Cameron Bure, who plays D.J. Tanner, told Insider. </p><p><div type="image" title="fuller house wedding" height="1406" width="2500" msid="76292392" hostid="261"></div></p><p>"If they wanted to do that, it should have been probably in an earlier season or two for it to make sense," Cameron Bure added of how Kimmy's parents should have been introduced on the show much earlier. "Because they would be so significant, I think they thought it would detract from the wedding."</p><p>Jimmy and Kimmy's parents were the focus of the mid-season premiere.</p><p>When Joey announced he was throwing an engagement party, he surprised the Gibbler kids by saying their parents were coming. The entire episode revolved around Jimmy and Kimmy preparing for a reunion with their mom and dad who they hadn't seen in years.</p><p>How many years? Apparently, the pair never even met their teenage granddaughter, Ramona, because they were too busy traveling the world.</p><p><div type="image" title="fuller house jimmy kimmy mom dad season 5" height="1202" width="2027" msid="76292394" hostid="261"></div></p><p>By the episode's end, the Gibbler parents don't show up. Instead, they send along a singing telegram to reveal the news. Jimmy's not surprised, but Kimmy is completely distraught.</p><p>Upset, she tells Joey this is likely a confirmation her father won't be at her wedding to walk her down the aisle.</p><p><div type="image" title="kimmy gibbler fuller house" height="1427" width="1200" msid="76292395" hostid="261"></div></p><p>Kimmy tells Joey she spent so much time with the Tanner family growing up because her parents were never around. As a result, they always felt more like her real family. Joey shared that was the same reason he spent so much time with Jesse and Danny on the original "Full House."</p><p>"Kimmy, I don't like to talk about it very much, but I didn't have the greatest family life either," said Joey. "That's why all you guys became my family."</p><p><div type="image" title="kimmy joey fuller house" height="3000" width="1200" msid="76292396" hostid="261"></div></p><p>After realizing how much they had in common, Joey asked Kimmy if he could walk her down the aisle at her wedding. Cameron Bure said that was on purpose to set up the meaningful moment on the finale between Joey and Kimmy so it didn't feel out of the blue.</p><p>"That's why they really set it up in a previous episode when Joey is throwing the engagement party that the parents don't show up," said Cameron Bure. "It's actually quite sad, but it gives you that beautiful moment when Joey tells Kimmy that he would love to walk her down the aisle."</p><p><div type="image" title="fuller house kimmy joey" height="718" width="1271" msid="76292398" hostid="261"></div></p><p>"So then when we get to the wedding day, you see the reason, and I think that was the problem that they were trying to solve," she added.</p><p>Cameron Bure said it wouldn't have made sense to only have the Gibbler parents on the finale. </p><p>"I think if you bring the Gibbler parents on, those characters are so extravagant and they're so big and bold that it's almost like there wasn't room," said Cameron Bure. "We already have so many cast members on our show. That's another part of it.
