The <keyword id="20577913" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Naukri" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Naukri" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Naukri">Naukri</keyword> JobSpeak is a monthly index representing India's job market and hiring activity based on new job listings and job-related searches by recruiters on the resume database of <keyword id="20120149" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="naukri-com" source="keywords">Naukri.com</keyword>. Most sectors reported healthy double digit growths, with <keyword id="22645356" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pharma/biotech" source="keywords">pharma/biotech</keyword> (26%), FMCG (26%), real estate (23%), and <keyword id="22645355" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="AI-ML" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="AI-ML" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="AI-ML">AI-ML</keyword> (47 %) leading the way, said the report. However, the report cautioned that this could be due to an impacted base of July 2023, when there was an atypical dip in hiring activity on account of <keyword id="19916570" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IT-sector" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="IT sector" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="IT sector">IT sector</keyword>'s woes. The IT sector experienced a healthy 17 % growth in July, compared to the year-ago period, while the artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI-ML) sector continued its robust performance with a remarkable 47 % year-on-year increase, it added. Further, Gujarat continued to lead the pack with Rajkot, Jamnagar and Baroda recording 39%, 38% and 25% growth, respectively. Hyderabad emerged as a key hub for job creation across multiple key industries, including hospitality (76%), insurance (71%), BPO (52%) and oil and gas (44%). Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam have reported a healthy sequential growth of 13 % and 14 %, respectively, said the report. "The robust 12 % growth in hiring activity is a much-awaited, encouraging sign for this financial year. This is the first month this year that we have seen positive growth, and the fact that it is secular, cutting across sectors and geographies, makes it truly promising. This broad-based, positive shift could potentially be the onset of an upcycle in the Indian white-collar job market," Naukri Chief Business Officer Pawan Goyal added.

New Delhi, There is a surge in hiring for cybersecurity-related roles including data, automation, security, compliance, risk, and relationships in the second quarter of 2023, reflecting a 34 per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) since 2020, according to a report on Monday. The job analytics database of GlobalData, a data and analytics company, showed a notable shift in the pharmaceutical industry as companies are increasingly prioritising the adoption of emerging technologies and stringent compliance measures to safeguard against cyber threats and data breaches. An analysis of Company Filing Analytics Database revealed that cybersecurity dominated pharma industry discussions during Q2 2023 as well amid the push for digital transformation. "The growing digital engagement, coupled with the rising occurrence of data breaches, has prompted pharma companies to place a heightened emphasis on roles geared towards minimising enterprise risks. These roles aim to advocate privacy measures and develop cybersecurity strategies that enhance the comprehension of privacy-related risks linked to emerging technologies," said Misa Singh, Business Fundamentals Analyst at GlobalData, in a statement. In August, the global pharmaceutical industry experienced a 19 per cent rise in new job postings related to cybersecurity in Q2 2023 compared with the previous quarter, the report said. "In an era where data is the lifeblood of the pharmaceutical industry, the shift towards embracing technology and fortifying cybersecurity measures is not just a strategic move but a critical imperative. As we navigate this transformative landscape, these cybersecurity-related roles serve as the guardians of our digital future, ensuring privacy, compliance, and resilience in the face of evolving challenges," Singh added.

Cybersecurity jobs in pharma sector up at 34% CAGR since 2020: Report

Hiring for roles in artificial intelligence (AI) and Oil &amp; Gas sectors has witnessed a growth of over 20 per cent in the month of February 2024, a new report showed on Monday. According to the Naukri JobSpeak Index, AI-related roles such as Machine Learning Engineer and Full Stack AI Scientist jumped a staggering 100 per cent and 44 per cent, respectively, in February 2024 vs last year. In the Oil &amp; Gas sector, hiring increased by 21 per cent in February this year compared to last year. Hiring in the <keyword id="19933821" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pharma" source="keywords">Pharma</keyword> sector recorded a 9 per cent growth. The hiring activity in India's white-collar professional segment, remained steady in May and witnessed multi-sectoral growth across sectors such as real estate, banking, oil and gas and pharma, a report said on Thursday. The relatively flat growth in index masks strong divergence in hiring trends across different sectors and geographies, said the report. White collar hiring activity flat in May, IT sector's woes continue: Report

Hectic jobs in retail and quick service restaurants is leading to high attrition: Report

Hiring activity for white-collar jobs witnessed a 12% on-year decline during October-November largely due to fall in recruitment trends in IT-Software, telecom and education sectors, a report said on Thursday. White-collar recruitment during October-November declined by 12% with 2,433 job postings, compared to 2,781 during the corresponding months in 2022, according to the <keyword id="4298612" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="naukri-jobspeak" source="Orion">Naukri JobSpeak</keyword> Index. The Naukri JobSpeak is a monthly Index representing the state of the Indian job market and hiring activity based on new job listings and job-related searches by recruiters on the resume database of Naukri.com. While, telcom, education, retailing sectors witnessed 18%, 17% and 11% decline, respectively, during October-November compared with the same months in 2022, sectors like hospitality, travel, auto and auto ancillary the hiring trend was stagnant, the report said. Meanwhile, Oil and Gas sectors recorded 9% increase in hiring in the October-November period compared to the last year, on the back of rapid expansion by energy companies and the setting up of new refineries across the country, the report noted. Similarly, the Pharma sector registered a 6% increase in new job offers in the October-November against the same months of 2022, it added. The report further revealed that the insurance sector also saw positive momentum as hiring grew by 5% in the October-November period, over the same period last year. "It was encouraging to see core non-IT sectors like Oil and Gas, Pharma and Insurance growing at a healthy clip during a cluttered festive period. November's 1% growth in IT vs October could be a much awaited positive sign, as we eagerly await next month's trends," Naukri.com Chief Business Officer Pawan Goyal said. The overall hiring in the IT sector was 22% lower in the October-November, compared to the same months last year, it noted. However, despite witnessing substantial corrections in the first half of 2023, the sector reported a 1% growth in November over October. New <keyword id="346323" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="job-openings" source="Orion">job openings</keyword> in AI-related fields like machine learning engineer and full stack data scientist increased by 64% and 16% respectively during the two months under review, compared to the year-ago period, the report said. Vadodara clocked a 9% growth in new job offers in the last two-months against the same period of 2022, while Ahmedabad stayed flat. Metros like Delhi NCR and Mumbai clocked negative growth of 12% each, while the IT-focused cities of Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune recorded negative growth of 20%, 18%, 21%, and 18% in October-November compared to the same period of 2022. The report also found that organisations continued to show preference for senior professionals in terms of hiring, a trend seen in most of 2023. Hiring for senior professionals with more than 16 years of experience went up by 26% in the last two months against the same months of 2022. While, for freshers, new offers recorded negative growth of 13% in the last two-month over the same period last year, the report added.

Companies are sitting on advance orders running anywhere from a 2-9 month waiting period for some models, some of which are also accentuated by the global chip crisis. He said, “The travel and tourism sector that employs millions of Indians started bouncing back after the first wave, but little did they know that COVID-19 would be back for the second round of devastation. Driven by industries like pharma, fast-moving consumer goods, education and IT, hiring activity in India saw a growth of 24 per cent in September compared to the <keyword id="9393572" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="previous-month">previous month</keyword>, according to a new report by job portal Naukri on Monday. Further opening up of the economy with unlock measures and increased mobility has led to an improvement in hiring activities in industries like real estate, auto/ancillary and hospitality/travel versus August, revealed <keyword id="4647079" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="The-Naukri-JobSpeak-index">the Naukri JobSpeak Index</keyword> for September. Key industries such as <keyword id="35645" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="business-process-outsourcing">business process outsourcing</keyword> (BPO)/IT enabled Services (ITeS) and banking and financial services continue to post robust growth sequentially, said the report. "While the hiring is yet to touch last year levels and is down by 23% in Sept'20 versus Sept'19 but this is also a marked recovery from a 35%-60% decline that we have witnessed in the last few months," Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer, Naukri.com, said in a statement. "Businesses that are leveraging digital channels for dissemination and consumption of goods and services are thriving and will continue to do so as we imbibe social distancing norms in our daily lives." Metros which were reeling under various lockdown measures earlier have posted strong double-digit growth in the month of September Vs August with Pune leading the pack followed by Hyderabad and Chennai, while Bangalore is lagging with a 14 per cent growth. Tier-2 cities like Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Jaipur have also seen a significant uptick in the hiring activities, according to Naukri. Hiring grew across the board in terms of <keyword id="10092743" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="experience-bands">experience bands</keyword> with the demand for mid-management professionals (8-12 years) up by 27 per cent versus August followed by 0-3 years' experience (25 per cent), 4-7 years' experience (23 per cent), 13-16 years' experience (24 per cent) and more than 16 years' experience by 19 per cent. "With increased mobility and focus on health, we are hopeful that hiring activity will further improve in sectors like Travel, Hospitality, Medical/ Healthcare, Insurance and Financial services," Goyal said.
