The Ali Abbas Zafar-directed action movie is JioCinema’s first direct-to-OTT film and one of the biggest Bollywood movies to directly get a release on OTT, or over-the-top platform. New Delhi, Mar 25 () Social media major Facebook is reportedly planning to buy 10 per cent stake in the country's biggest telecom company Reliance Jio. Reliance Industries Limited had set a target to make its telecom services arm Jio debt-free by March 31, 2020. According to Financial Times, Facebook is looking at buying a multibillion-dollar stake in Reliance Jio which has been valued at USD 60 billion by analysts at Bernstein. Both Reliance Jio and Facebook did not comment on the report. The international financial daily said that the lockdown may have an impact on the timing of the deal. Reliance Industries (RIL) in October had announced to set up a new subsidiary to bring all its digital initiatives and apps under a single entity, and infuse Rs 1.08 lakh crore equity into this new unit. Jio apps like JioTV, JioCinema, JioNews etc are to be brought under this new entity in a move to consolidate digital platforms into an elegant capital structure to increase the attractiveness and simplify the structure for possible strategic investors. On March 18, RIL took over some of the debt of Reliance Jio but the company neither disclosed financial details of the transaction nor the names of creditors. The rupee slipped 2 <keyword id="20045456" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="paise" source="keywords">paise</keyword> to 83.42 against the <keyword id="19949640" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="US-dollar" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="US dollar" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="US dollar">US dollar</keyword> in early trade on Thursday, tracking the outflow of foreign capital amid volatile domestic equity markets. <keyword id="20024982" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Forex-traders" source="keywords">Forex traders</keyword> said a strong American currency also weighed on the local unit even as retreating <keyword id="20024983" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="crude-oil-prices" source="keywords">crude oil prices</keyword> capped the rupee's sharp fall. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit opened at 83.42 and slipped further to 83.44. It soon recovered to trade at 83.42 against the greenback, registering a loss of 2 paise from its previous closing level. On Wednesday, the rupee plunged 22 paise to close at 83.40 against the US dollar. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, was trading at 105.10, higher 0.06 per cent. Analysts attributed the higher dollar index to the rising US Treasury yield amid the hawkish stance of the US Federal Reserve. Also, they said that market participants will closely monitor the US GDP data for the first quarter (second estimate), weekly job reports and pending home sales numbers to be released later in the day. Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, fell 0.05 per cent to USD 83.56 per barrel. On the domestic equity market, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 227.31 points, or 0.31 per cent lower at 74,275.59 points. The broader NSE Nifty fell 62.20 points or 0.27 per cent to 22,642.50 points in initial trade. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital markets on Wednesday, selling shares worth Rs 5,841.84 crore, according to exchange data.
