The new tariff plan provides special recharge benefits to Jio customers in which they can enjoy unlimited data and voice benefits for 3 months (84 days). With one-time recharge amount of Rs. 303, Jio ‘Prime members’ get 1GB data per day, unlimited local, STD, national roaming voice calls &amp; SMS and access to Jio Premium apps.  This is the newest plan from Jio and yet another quest to hold on tight to the over 100 million subscribers that the 4G player has been able to pull in with the longest running free trial that started from 5th of September. Right after the ‘Happy New Year’ plan ended on 31st of March, Jio announced its Summer Surprise tariff plan for the Jio Prime Members which was essentially free services till July with Just Rs. 303, but Jio had to discontinue the plan as the telecom regulator <keyword id="6356988" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="TRAI">TRAI</keyword> intervened in the matter and ordered Jio to stop the free services. Now Jio is back with a new plan called <keyword id="4405392" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="dhan-dana-dhan">Dhan Dana Dhan</keyword> where the customers have to pay just a few extra rupees than the previous plan and get to use all Jio services for for free for three months straight. After mud-slinging each other in the past over several issues, including Jio’s free services and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/small-business/tech/airtel-and-jio-lock-horns-over-alleged-misleading-ads/articleshow/57767720.cms">Airtel’s claims </a>of being the fastest network in India, the latter has now accused the former of violating the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (<keyword id="6356988" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="TRAI">TRAI</keyword>) order to stop its Summer Surprise offer. It has also requested the regulatory authority to take "suitable action."

In turn, Jio has reminded of its April 6 statement, which said that it would <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/small-business/companies/trai-orders-reliance-jio-to-withdraw-summer-surprise-offer/articleshow/58051579.cms">comply with the order </a>as soon as it is "operationally feasible. 
 
Airtel, on the other hand, is of the view that the offer should have been stopped immediately. "We are surprised that Reliance Jio is openly continuing with its Summer Special offer despite the same being declared ab initio void by the TRAI," a Bharti Airtel spokesperson told ET over email on Sunday. 
 
"In addition, Reliance Jio is running an aggressive campaign via social media and on ground as well as digital flyers encouraging customers and channel partners to subscribe and recharge under the scheme." 
 
"We are sure the honorable regulator will take suitable action against this violation," the mail further said.

 Jio has stated that it’s not broken any laws. "All the customers who have subscribed to <keyword id="4364832" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jio-Summer-Surprise">Jio Summer Surprise</keyword> offer prior to its discontinuation will remain eligible for the offer," it added. 
 
Ever since Jio’s commercial launch and two successive free offers that followed, incumbent telcos have been facing a lot of issues, in terms of customer retention.

Airtel cries foul, says Jio took too much time to comply with TRAI order

However, the telco has decided to extend the subscriptions deadline to April 15th, while also <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/84-jio-users-willing-to-take-prime-offer-says-survey/articleshow/57774459.cms">waiving the monthly recharges </a>for three months for subscribers who register within that timeline. 
 The news of this decision has proved to be another nighmare for India's top three telcos - Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword>, <keyword id="6354923" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vodafone-India">Vodafone India</keyword> and Idea Cellular, denting both their customer base and revenue.

As per JM Financial, the extent of sequential Ebitda decline for marker leading telcos in first and second quarters of FY18 "could turn out higher" than what had been predicted. "We do not expect Bharti and Idea share prices to outperform, until clear visibility emerges on revenue/Ebitda recovery from Q3," it told <a href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/internet/extension-of-reliance-jio-sops-may-shave-off-rivals-earnings/articleshow/57980841.cms">ET</a>.

Extension of Reliance Jio sops is another nightmare for rival telcos

<img class="gwt-Image" src="/photo/57957234.cms" /> From 'Welcome Offer' to 'Happy New Year' and now to '<keyword id="2003276" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jio">Jio</keyword> Summer Surprise' plan, <keyword id="6354504" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Reliance-Jio">Reliance Jio</keyword> continues to find ways to offer services for free to consumers. 
 It's been one month that Reliance Jio has announced the <keyword id="4200601" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jio-Prime">Jio Prime</keyword> plan where customers can continue to avail all the services at an upfront payment of Rs. 99 and monthly charge of Rs. 303. Jio has now extended the date of signing up for the plan from 1st of April to 15th of April and customers who sign up for the Prime membership can avail all the services for free till July, hence continuing its longest running free services since September 2016. 
 <keyword id="3820" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mukesh-Ambani">Mukesh Ambani</keyword> led Reliance Jio also claims that out of over 100million subscribers, 72million have already signed up for Jio Prime programmes. 
 
Jio has now extended the deadline for purchasing Jio’s Rs 303 (and other) plans till 15th April. Jio says that this extension will provide the necessary breathing room for users to avoid 
service disruption during the transition from free to paid services. It also adds that customers who could not enrol for Jio Prime by 31st March for whatever reason can still do so by paying Rs 99 along with their first purchase of Jio’s Rs 303 and other plans till 15th April. 
 
Jio has swiftly announced yet another free programme called Jio Summer Surprise for its Jio Prime members where every Jio Prime member, when they make their first paid recharge prior to 15th April using Jio’s Rs 303 plan (or any higher value plan), can continue to avail Jio services for free, which means customers will only start paying for the services in July, after the expiry of their yet another complimentary service. 
 
After providing free services for the last 7 months, Jio again hints at many such special plans for Jio Prime subscribers going forward.
