Additionally, this will also facilitate self-bag drop and check-in, using facial recognition to identify pax and data recall. Digi Yatra will facilitate paperless travel and avoid identity check at multiple points. To accomplish this, NIA selected global technology firm <keyword id="4553387" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="icad" source="Orion">ICAD</keyword> Holding as its master system integrator (MSI) consultant and partnered with Indian IT major <keyword id="10862" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="wipro" source="Orion">Wipro</keyword> which will act as a sub-consultant to the global tech company. An MSI enables all the technical systems, with all of their disparate parts and pieces to work cohesively and work as designed, throughout its lifespan. Wipro, ICAD to create India's first digital airport — here are its features

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister <keyword id="43254" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yogi-Adityanath">Yogi Adityanath</keyword> on Thursday approved the design, name and logo of the <keyword id="6579" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="international-airport">international airport</keyword> to be constructed in Noida's Jewar, according to an official statement. It will be named Noida International Greenfield Airport while a picture of stork-the state bird--will used in its logo, an official said. It will be designed on the lines of world-famous airports in London, Moscow and Milan, the official added. According to the statement, Adityanath that the international airport being constructed in Noida's Jewar will give a boost to exports and increase employment opportunities for people in the state. "This airport will become the pride of India and will be one of the best in the world. We will present it as a global brand," the CM said while going through a presentation on the airport at his residence. Adityanath said the Jewar airport will lead to the development of <keyword id="418609" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Industrial-Infrastructure">industrial infrastructure</keyword> that will increase employment opportunities, encourage manufacturing and exports. Here’s why this is the right time to invest in Delhi’s duty-free retail market

Noida (UP), Aug 17 () In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday once again deferred the date for the signing of a key pact for the Rs 29,650-crore Jewar airport project with its developer, according to an order. The state government had in June extended till August 17 the date for the signing of the "concession agreement" with Zurich Airport AG amid travel restrictions due to the global outbreak of COVID-19. The Switzerland firm had emerged as the highest bidder to develop the Jewar airport on the outskirts of Delhi in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of UP, outbidding competitors like Adani Enterprises, DIAL and Anchorage Infrastructure Investments Holding in November 2019. "The timelines for the execution of the concession agreement are extended for a period of 45 days from the date of start of scheduled commercial international flights between India and Malaysia and India and Switzerland (whichever is later), plus the period of mandatory quarantine in India, or October 15, whichever is earlier," a state government order stated on Monday. The government also extended till March 31, 2021 the date for bid validity and bid security of the project for all three bidders, including Adani Enterprises and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), according to officials. The bid validity and bid security date of Adani Enterprises and DIAL was set to expire on October 24, while the Zurich Airport's was valid till October 26, Shailendra Bhatia, Noida International Airport Limited's nodal officer for Jewar Airport, told . The three "serious bidders" had deposited a security fee of Rs 100 crore each at the time of bidding, Bhatia said but made it clear that Adani Enterprises or DIAL "are now out of bidding race as developer" for the Greenfield airport. COVID-19 effect: Signing date of Jewar airport's key pact deferred again

Lucknow, Dec 16 () The conditional letter of award pertaining to the Noida International Greenfield Airport, Jewar, was handed over to CEO of Zurich Airport International AG Daniel Bircher on Monday here, the UP government said.
"In the presence of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, conditional letter of award pertaining to the Noida International Greenfield Airport, Jewar, was handed over to CEO of Zurich Airport International AG Daniel Bircher by UP Chief Secretary RK Tiwari," it said in a statement.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the development of the airport will be done in a time-bound manner.
On Dec 9, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved Zurich Airport International as developer for Jewar airport.
The formal approval of the Uttar Pradesh government comes after a bidding process in which Zurich Airport beat Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Adani Enterprises and Anchorage Infrastructure Investments Holdings Limited on Nov 29.
The winning bid was then put up before the project monitoring and implementation committee (PMIC) of the state government, before being forwarded to the Cabinet.
"Four bids had come for the airport. On the basis of weighted averages, Zurich Airport International was chosen," UP minister Siddharth Nath Singh had then said.
The Swiss firm offered a premium of Rs 400.97 per passenger to the government, the highest among the bidders. "We are of the view that the construction work for Jewar airport will begin in February next year," the minister had said.
The airport in Gautam Buddh Nagar district will be the third in the National Capital Region after Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and Ghaziabad's Hindon.
The Jewar Airport or the Noida International Greenfield Airport will be spread over 5,000 hectares when fully built at an estimated to cost Rs 29,560 crore, officials have said.
It is expected to have six to eight runways, the maximum at an airport in India, when fully built. The first phase of the airport would be spread over 1,334 hectares and completed by 2023,, according to officials.

The financial implications will be on the AAI. The first and second round of investments to get ₹13,000 crore,” said Sitharaman. India currently has several airport projects under construction – the Jewar international airport in Greater Noida, the Mopa Airport in Goa, Navi Mumbai international airport in Maharashtra, Sabarimala airport in Kerala among others. In April 2020, GMR got the go-ahead for the Bhogapuram airport in Andhra Pradesh. In February 2019, the Adani Group won a tender to operate all six government-owned Indian airports located in Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mangaluru, Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram), Lucknow, and Guwahati. Making India an airline maintenance hub Another major investment was Sitharaman’s bid to make India an MRO hub – Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul. “Most Indian aircrafts go abroad for their repair works and spend there. But India has all the capacity – manpower and soft skills to set up an MRO hub here. India can be the centre for many of the flights for South East Asia as well as westwards,” she said. This will be a major step that we want to make sure India benefits from, she added. Not just the civil sector but defence aircrafts will also benefit from it. Through this, maintenance will also be cheaper for the aviation sector. The issue the MRO industry used to face because of the aircraft used to fly to other countries for repair. "In India we have a promising civil aviation sector, so we want the MRO sector to be located in India and much of the repair work should be done here. The problem they used to face was competitiveness was in GST. GST rate used to be 18%, so the meeting held in March the rate has been brought down to 5% with full input tax credit and that is something that will make the MRO industry very competitive," said the government. The coronavirus pandemic has left the Indian airlines sector stranded on the runway. All domestic and international flights have been suspended ever since the lockdown. “It will take 2-3 years for air travel to return to 2019 levels and a few more years to return to long-term growth trends according to Boeing,” said a Centrum Broking report last week. The <keyword id="34987" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="aviation-industry">aviation industry</keyword> is staring at losses to the tune of ₹25,000 crore, according to a CRISIL report. “These are preliminary estimates, and aggregate losses could increase if the lockdown is extended beyond the first quarter. Metro rail service is available in Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Noida. Work of Regional Rapid Transit System from Delhi to Meerut is in progress. An arrangement of Rs 900 crore made for it," Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said in his budget speech.An arrangement of Rs 358 crore is proposed for Kanpur Metro Rail Project and Rs 286 crore proposed for Agra Metro Rail Project. UP budget lays emphasis on metro networks, airports, e-ways

	This <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=international+airport&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">international airport</a> was inaugurated with much fanfare and was supposed to handle pressure of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=indira+gandhi+international+airport&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi</a>, which is just 250 kilometres from Chandigarh.

	However, it did not attract anyone and now the airport is under scanner of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=punjab+and+haryana+high+court&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Punjab and Haryana High Court</a>.
 “Delhi’s <keyword id="89772" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indira-Gandhi-International-Airport">Indira Gandhi International airport</keyword> is capable enough to handle the rising growth of air traffic. As of now, the total terminal passenger capacity at the IGI Airport is 62 million passengers per annum against the actual traffic of approx. 41 million passengers handled in the FY 2014-15,” said an official.

	“As per the master plan IGI Airport is expected to handle 109 million passengers in the year 2034. This would be adequate to meet the likely traffic demands over the next 18-20 years,” he said.

	Now, the Uttar Pradesh government recently sought approval from the Indian government for an international airport in Greater Noida’s Jewar, which is around 84 kilometres away from Delhi.

	“Huge investment has already been made for expansion of the passenger handling capacity and modernisation at IGI Airport Now, a new airport within 84 km radius is sheer wastage of public money,” said the official.

	India has spent more than $50 million since 2009 on eight airports that do not receive scheduled flights - white elephants that are a reminder of the pitfalls for Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he bets on an infrastructure drive to fuel growth.

	Even Jaisalmer airport met the same fate as after two-and-a-half years of completion, it has no flight operations.

	The proposal for an airport in Jewar was first mooted in 2001 by Rajnath Singh, the then chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. His successor Mayawati also backed the plan and acquired more than 2,000 acres for the proposed airport.

 Experts believe the airport has huge potential to boost property demand in the area. Till now, both domestic and international companies have usually preferred Gurgaon over Noida because it’s nearer to the Delhi airport. 
 
As a result, property prices and office rentals in Noida have slumped. It currently takes over an hour and half to drive about 35 kms from the airport in New Delhi to Noida. 
 
The new airport is expected to change that and uplift Noida’s image in the NCR region.

Seiko Advance Limited alone will invest Rs 850 crore and provide employment to thousands of people, he added. Sector 29 is well-developed with several available facilities for companies. The Apple suppliers, along with a known camera parts maker, proposed to set up a unit on about 23 acres of land with a proposed investment of Rs 2,800 crore. Singh told IANS that Apple suppliers proposed the investment at a recently-held meeting in South Korea. Seiko Advance creates ink for devices like the iPhones. Apple CEO Tim Cook had visited the company in 2019, when he had said that the 'Midnight Green' colour dye was "only made by high-quality control and craftsmanship" at its plant. Meanwhile, Apple is fast forwarding its manufacturing plans in India and Vietnam in the wake of unrest in China over zero-Covid policy which has severely disrupted its supply chain, leading to an acute shortage of new iPhone 14 Pro models. The Wall Street Journal had earlier reported that the company is "telling its suppliers to plan more actively for assembling Apple products elsewhere in Asia, particularly in India and Vietnam" in order to "reduce dependence on Taiwanese assemblers led by Foxconn". The China upheaval, which hit its key supplier Foxconn's Zhengzhou factory last month, resulting in violent protests, means "Apple no longer feels comfortable having so much of its business tied up in one place", the report said, citing analysts and people in the Apple supply chain. Apple aims to ship 40-45 per cent of iPhones from India compared to a single-digit percentage currently, according to analyst Ming-chi Kuo. Every fourth iPhone will be made in India by 2025, according to J.P. Morgan. In a fillip to India's thrust on local manufacturing, Apple had earlier this year kicked off production of new iPhone 14 in India, a first for the tech giant as it narrows down the manufacturing period of new iPhones in the country to cut dependence on China. Buoyed by the ease-of-doing business and friendly local manufacturing policies, Apple's 'Make in India' iPhones will potentially account for close to 85 per cent of its total iPhone production for the country this year, according to industry experts. Apple first started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017, with iPhone SE. Lucknow, June 30 (IANS) Microsoft India will set up its campus in Uttar Pradesh, giving a major boost to the state's efforts to bring in investments. This will ensure employment to about 4,000 persons in the state. An agreement through a virtual discussion has been reached between Microsoft India managing director, Rajiv Kumar, and UP MSME minister Sidharth Nath Singh. The Microsoft team will soon make a site visit. According to the minister, "The government had earlier said that it will make it simpler for investors willing to acquire land within 1 km distance on each side of the state's expressways. The company has said that they want to move their North India campus to Greater Noida. The next step will be a site inspection by the team both in Greater Noida and along the Yamuna Expressway and this will be followed by their proposal which the state government will examine." The software major currently has two campuses, with capacities of 5,000 and 2,000 each, in its headquarters in Hyderabad and in Bengaluru. <keyword id="6358777" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="New-Delhi">New Delhi</keyword>, As the three <keyword id="1298889" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="high-speed-rail-corridors">high speed rail corridors</keyword> are expected to start from Delhi for Amritsar, Ahmedabad and Varanasi, the national capital is likely to get two <keyword id="10681168" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="high-speed-rail-stations">high speed rail stations</keyword> in different areas, officials related to development said on Sunday. National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) spokesperson Sushma Gaur said, "NHSRCL is exploring all the possibilities to plan two high speed rail stations in Delhi." She said that one of the stations is in close proximity of Sarai Kale Khan and Nizamuddin railway station for Delhi-Varanasi high speed rail corridor, which may provide road connectivity to the high speed rail users through outer ring road, metro connectivity through pink line metro, interstate bus connectivity through Sarai Kale Khan ISBT and regional rail connectivity through RRTS system. The NHSRCL has started the aerial LiDAR survey for the 800km Delhi-Varanasi high speed rail corridor earlier this month. She said that the tenders related to <keyword id="387162" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="data-collection">data collection</keyword> and various other activities including LiDAR survey, required for the preparation of Detail Project Reports for Delhi-Varanasi, for which the first draft of the DPR has already been submitted. The NHSRCL on January 10 this year launched the LiDAR survey for the Delhi-Varanasi route from Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida, wherein a helicopter fitted with state-of-the-art aerial LiDAR and imagery sensors will capture data related to the ground survey along the proposed route. Another official related to the development told IANS that there will be two high speed rail stations in the Gautam Budha Nagar. Another official related to the development said that one of the high-speed rail station will come up near the proposed Jewar International Airport while the another one near Sector 148 in Noida. Talking about another station of the High Speed rail in Delhi, she said, "Locations are being explored for the other station for Delhi-Ahmedabad and Delhi-Amritsar high speed rail corridor, in close proximity of Sector-21, Dwarka Metro station and Bijwasan Railway station." She said that this may provide connectivity to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport and central Delhi through Airport Express Metro Line and West Delhi, Central Delhi, East Delhi and Noida through Blue line Metro Line, upcoming <keyword id="9565" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="International-Convention-Centre">International Convention Centre</keyword> at Sector-25 and Gurugram. The Delhi-Amritsar-Chandigarh is 459 km long high speed rail corridor while the Delhi-Ahmedabad is 886 km long High speed rail corridor. The official said that the high speed rail stations in the national capital will be finalised only after the DPRs are submitted. Besides these three corridors, the <keyword id="76223" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-Railways">Ministry of Railways</keyword> has entrusted the work to the NHSRCL to carry out the detailed project report (DPR) for the 711-km-long Mumbai-Hyderabad high-speed rail corridor, which will pass through Pune; 753-km-long Mumbai-Nagpur and as well as the 711-km-long Mumbai-Hyderabad bullet train corridor. The NHSRCL has also invited tenders for preparing the DPR for the 435-km-long Chennai-Mysuru and 760-km-long Varanasi-Howrah high speed rail corridors'. The NHSRCL is collecting data on these new proposed corridors for the preparation of the DPRs. LiDAR survey alignment or ground survey is a crucial activity for any linear infrastructure project as it provides accurate details of areas around the alignment. This technique uses a combination of laser data, GPS data, flight parameters and actual photographs to give accurate survey data. "Based on the findings of the survey, designing of the vertical and horizontal alignment, structures, location of the stations and depots, land requirement for the corridor, identification of project affected plots/structures, right of way etc are decided," Gaur said. The work on the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train project is also in full swing. Delhi likely to get two stations under three proposed Bullet train projects

New Delhi, Mar 18 () Ascendas India Trust has acquired a warehouse, comprising 2 lakh sq ft area, from Arshiya at Khurja in Uttar Pradesh for around Rs 95 crore as part of its expansion plan. Ascendas Property Fund Trustee Pte Ltd, the trustee-manager of Ascendas India Trust (a-iTrust), announced signing of a definitive agreement for acquisition of the income-producing warehouse with a total floor area of about 0.2 million sq ft from Arshiya Northern FTWZ Ltd. The warehouse, which is part of a Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) spread over about 127 acres of freehold land, has attracted multinational customers, including ZTE, Corning, CFM Aircraft Engines, among others, a company statement said. Within the FTWZ facility, Arshiya has two existing warehouses and substantial land bank to build additional warehouses. The future development potential of the site is estimated at about 3.6 million square feet. "The logistics sector caters to domestic consumption and industrial demand and provides diversification to our business parks portfolio," Ascendas Property Fund Trustee Pte CEO Sanjeev Dasgupta said. "The proposed acquisition also enables a-iTrust to grow its warehousing footprint in North India. We would benefit from key infrastructure projects like Jewar International airport and Dedicated Freight Corridor coming up in the vicinity," he added. a-iTrust has entered into agreement with Arshiya with an option to acquire the existing warehouses and fund the construction of future warehouses within the FTWZ, and to acquire these warehouses when completed. The purchase consideration for the warehouse comprises of an upfront payment of about Rs 22.99 crore and an additional deferred consideration of up to Rs 72.16 crore to be paid over the next four years. With this acquisition, a-iTrust's portfolio size will increase from about 22.6 million sq ft to about 22.8 million sq ft. MJH RVK
