How is Ravi Kapoor now? Have we forgotten him? If you are unable to fathom what we are talking about, Ravi Kapoor is the original name of one of Bollywood's biggest superstars of all time and the ladies' heartthrob of his era -- Jeetendra! The man who earned the sobriquet of 'Jumping Jack' in Bollywood owing to his energetic dancing style, turns 78 today. He has chosen to move away from the limelight, but Jeetu -- as he was known to fans and colleagues -- continues to reside in the hearts of Hindi film buffs across the globe. Horror Flicks From Bollywood That You Must Not Miss

Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd, the maker of Officer's Choice whisky, on Thursday fixed a <keyword id="19911460" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="price-band" source="keywords">price band</keyword> of Rs 267 to Rs 281 per share for its Rs 1,500-crore <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">initial public offering</keyword> (IPO). The initial share-sale will open for public during June 25-27 and the bidding for anchor investors will open for a day on June 24, the company announced. Broking firms have pegged the company's <keyword id="20000950" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="market-capitalisation" source="keywords">market capitalisation</keyword> to Rs 7,860 crore post-issue. The initial share-sale comprises fresh issuance of equity shares worth Rs 1,000 crore and an Offer-for-Sale (OFS) of shares to the tune of Rs 500 crore by promoters. As a part of the OFS, Bina Kishore Chhabria, Resham Chhabria Jeetendra Hemdev and Neesha Kishore Chhabria will sell shares. Proceeds from the fresh issue worth Rs 720 crore will be used for the payment of debt. Besides, a portion will be used for general corporate purposes. The total debt on the the company's books was around Rs 808 crore as of December 2023. Half of the issue size has been reserved for qualified institutional investors, 35 per cent for retail investors and the remaining 10 per cent for non-institutional investors. Further, investors can bid for 53 shares and in multiples thereof. With a market share of over 8 per cent in <keyword id="20830317" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Made-Foreign-Liquor" source="keywords">Indian-Made Foreign Liquor</keyword> (IMFL) market by sales volumes in fiscal 2023, Allied Blenders and Distillers is engaged in the manufacturing, marketing and sale of alcoholic beverages in India and abroad. The product portfolio of the firm comprises several brands of IMFL across whisky, brandy, rum and vodka. Some of the major brands of the company include Officer's Choice whisky, Sterling Reserve whisky, Jolly Roger rum and Class 21 vodka. Whisky maker Allied Blenders IPO to open on June 25 as it looks to raise ₹1,500 crore

Mumbai, Filmmaker <keyword id="258367" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajkumar-Kohli" source="Orion">Rajkumar Kohli</keyword>, known for multi-starrer movies such as "<keyword id="6505145" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nagin" source="Orion">Nagin</keyword>", "<keyword id="452682" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jaani-dushman" source="Orion">Jaani Dushman</keyword>" and "<keyword id="1547890" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="naukar-biwi-ka" source="Orion">Naukar Biwi Ka</keyword>", died on Friday morning at his residence here, family friend Vijay Grover said. He was 95. Kohli, one of the popular directors of the 1970s and 1980s, frequently collaborated with the top stars of the era such as Sanjeev Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Shatrughan Sinha, and Reena Roy among others, on various films. "Kohli ji passed away peacefully at around 8:00 am today. He had gone to take a shower in the morning and when he didn't step out for a while, his son Armaan broke open the door and found him on the floor. A doctor came home and declared him dead," Grover told PTI. His last rites will be held at 5:30 pm at Santacruz Hindu crematorium. Some of Kohli's other notable films are "Badle Ki Aag", "Raaj Tilak" and "Pati Patni Aur Tawaif". The filmmaker is survived by his actor-wife Nishi Kohli and son <keyword id="1210137" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Armaan-Kohli" source="Orion">Armaan Kohli</keyword>.

Nagin, Jaani Dushman, Naukar Biwi Ka filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli dies at 95

Mumbai, Jul 15 () A criminal complaint has been filed against film and television producer Ekta Kapoor before a magistrate's court here for allegedly disrespecting Indian Army's uniform in one of her web series. The complaint was filed by former 'Bigg Boss' contestant Vikas Pathak, also known as Hindustani Bhau, before a magistrate's court in suburban Bandra on Tuesday. The matter has been posted for hearing on August 24, Pathak's advocate Kashif Khan said. "My client had filed a complaint against Ekta Kapoor and others at a local police station, but no action has been taken till date, hence we moved a criminal complaint before the court," Khan said. Besides Ekta Kapoor, the complaint also names her OTT platform ALTBalaji, Shobha Kapoor and Jeetendra Kapoor, he said. As per the complaint, Pathak on May 20 came across a video on YouTube where an actor playing a military officer was seen performing an "illicit" act in a web series, aired on ALTBalaji. "The accused have stooped low and have shamelessly targetted the dignity and pride of our country by depicting the Indian Army military uniform with national emblem on it in the illicit sexual act," the complaint read. Complaint in Mumbai court against Ekta Kapoor over web show

(Eds: Updating with reports of more accidents ) Lucknow, May 15 () Six migrant workers were killed and 95 others injured in separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh when they were returning home during the ongoing lockdown to combat the coronavirus outbreak, police said on Friday. The accidents have taken place in Barabanki, Jalaun, Bahraich and Mahoba districts since Thursday evening, they said. In Barabanki, a group of seven labourers returning from Surat to Bahraich were waiting for conveyance near Badel on the Lucknow-Ayodhya National Highway on Friday morning when a speeding truck hit them, killing three on the spot and injuring the rest. Those killed have been identified as Shishupal (32), his brother Jeetendra (30) and uncle Mohan Nishad (40), the police said, adding that the four injured have been admitted to a hospital. The group members were working in a handloom company in Surat in Gujarat and had left for their homes after the factory was shut due to the ongoing lockdown to combat the novel coronavirus outbreak. They reached Barabanki in a truck and were waiting for another vehicle to take them home, the police said. In a separate accident, two people were killed and 40 injured when a truck carrying them from Mumbai to their homes in Uttar Pradesh fell in a ditch after being hit by another truck in Jalaun district. According to Jalaun Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar, the truck with 46 migrant labourers, hailing from different districts of Uttar Pradesh, had started its journey from Mumbai four days ago and met with the accident on Thursday night. The injured have been admitted to Orai Medical College, the police officer said. The deceased have been identified as Sundari, belonging to Chitrakoot district, and Sher Bahadur Gautam of Bhadohi district. Another truck, also ferrying migrant labourers from Mumbai, overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle after hitting an electric pole on the Lucknow-Bahraich highway in Bahraich district, police said. The accident occurred under Chakkarpur Police Station and left 32 people injured, Additional SP Ajay Pratap Singh said. All the injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital where Ghulam Jilani (28), belonging to Bahraich, succumbed to injuries. All the injured are said to be natives of Bahraich, the SP added. In Mahoba district's Panewadi township, a truck carrying migrants from Gujarat to Chhattisgarh overturned injuring 20 people. The truck carrying about 70 to 80 migrant workers from Gujarat was on its way to Chhattisgarh when it overturned on Jhansi-Mirzapur National Highway, injuring 20 of them, Circle Officer (City) Jatashankar Rao said.The accident took place in the wee hours on Friday morning , he said adding that all the injured were however out of danger. It’s an obvious expression that once the pandemic is over, people will be juggling between work, social and personal commitments. Having said that, we are confident that having sampled our portfolio of exciting, original web series, to a wider audience that has a higher propensity and capacity to subscribe, we will continue as one of the top OTT platforms. Q) Your plan was to launch 30 originals this year. Do you still see that happening? So far, we are on track in terms of the show launches. We recently launched the highly-awaited web-series ‘Mentalhood’ that featured a stellar cast in the form of Karisma Kapoor, Dino Morea, Sandhya Mridul and Sanjay Suri, among others. The web-series has not only won accolades from critics but is also being consumed extensively by the audience. Apart from that, we also launched a very Delhi style comedy-drama ‘Who’s Your Daddy?’ featuring Rahul Dev and YouTuber Harsh Beniwal. Other big shows in the pipeline include ‘Baarish Season 2’, which features Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi in lead roles along with a cameo by legendary actor Jeetendra. Additionally, after two successful seasons, our show ‘Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain has Season 3’ on the cards along with ‘Beebaakee’ featuring Kushal Tandon, Karan Jotwani, Suchitra Pillai among others. Q) Where do you see your next set of subscribers coming from? How many do you aim to add to your kitty by the end of this year? India has become more digital-savvy with more and more people coming on the internet. According to a market research firm techARC, India had 502.2 million smartphone users as of December 2019. The time spent on phones has substantially increased especially during this phase. According to KPMG’s recent report titled ‘COVID-19: The many shades of a crisis’, the penetration of subscription-based digital models is set to accelerate. From a content segmentation and a subscription acquisition point of view, one needs to start looking at these newer people to acquire. What works for us is to concentrate on consumer segmentation behaviour, understanding how to retain the customers better and working on onboarding the new segment who have just been acquainted with the internet. Q) What are your revenue goals for this fiscal? Given the national lockdown, all content production has come to a standstill, we continue to monitor the situation closely. We are very confident that the demand for content will increase once the situation returns to normal and are well prepared to resume business and ramp up content sales once the lockdown is over. ALTBalaji has been working towards its goals and is the first OTT platform already on the road to profitability. With our costs getting controlled in the first half of fiscal 2020 and the loss margin further reducing at the end of the current fiscal, we are aiming to break even in 2020-2021. Q) What do you believe is ALTBalaji’s strength in the market? Our mindset towards reading the market early on and taking action at the earliest has helped us stay ahead of the industry curve. This can probably only happen when the organization is tight, sharp and quick to react. With content being our biggest differentiator, we have been catering to all kinds of audiences through our diverse content offerings spanning multiple languages. Additionally, with Indian originals picking up the pace as audiences are on the lookout for local relatable content, we have the biggest Hindi content library of originals and are creating desi shows across genres. Q) What will be your focus this year? Where do you see ALTBalaji growing from here? We, at ALTBalaji, are currently focusing on ensuring that we dominate the Hindi speaking markets and then move ahead. If you look at the geography and demography of the country, 70% of the content consumed is Hindi. As a platform, it makes sense to focus your efforts in one direction and win over the Hindi-speaking population. Hence, this year we are first going to focus on ensuring that we dominate the Hindi space. We will gradually move towards other regional markets as well in the coming years. A host of our Hindi offerings have also been dubbed in Indian and International languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bhasa, Arabic, etc. amongst others. We shall continue to focus on expanding our language content library in the coming years.

The recently held <keyword id="3181600" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Renault-Sony-Guild-Awards">Renault Sony Guild Awards</keyword> 2016 was a glitzy affair. The latest release historical fiction <keyword id="6391813" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bajirao-Mastani">Bajirao Mastani</keyword> took home a total of 9 awards, including Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design, Best Dialogue, Best Choreography, Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Actor in Leading Role. 
 
Second name in the list was that of <keyword id="2411684" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bajrangi-Bhaijaan">Bajrangi Bhaijaan</keyword>, which won 4 awards including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Story and Best Actor in a Supporting Role. 
 
The award show was hosted by India’s favorite comedian Kapil Sharma, and with his witty humor, he left the audiences in splits. 
 There were some memorable performances too, by Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khuranna, and <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword>. 
 
Another hit section of the evening was when Akshay Kumar was honored for having completed 25 years in Hindi cienspace. He was presented a special award by evergreen actor Anil Kapoor. 
 
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Jeetendra by son Tusshar Kapoor and Poonam Sinha. Priyanka Chopra walked away with the award for Guild Global Honor for her US debut in Quantico and the Best Child Artist award went to Harshali Malhotra, who won million hearts for her role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Bajirao Mastani bags 9 awards at the Renault Sony Guild Awards

The question why state-run carrier <keyword id="2573" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Air-India">Air India</keyword> sold five Boeing 777s at a loss to Etihad in 2013 was keeping the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) awake for a long time. That is why CAG has sought civil aviation ministry’s response on why this deal was allowed during the tenure of the previous <keyword id="83449" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="United-Progressive-Alliance">United Progressive Alliance</keyword> government, reported Economic Times. 
 "The CAG's query addresses two aspects - one is of selling the aircraft only after six years of operations, when they were meant to fly 25 years, and the second is on selling it at much lower that its cost price," said a <keyword id="114749" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="civil-aviation-ministry-official">civil aviation ministry official</keyword>, who did not want to be identified. The initial query is part of the CAG's inquiry procedure. 
 Questions around this Air India and Etihad deal for $350 million were earlier reported in media by the former comptroller and auditor general <keyword id="154088" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Vinod-Rai">Vinod Rai</keyword> in his 2014 book 'Not Just an Accountant'. 
 In his book, Rai had said, "Why did we make purchases and within five years of the delivery of the aircraft, sell them at roughly 427 crore each to <keyword id="140808" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Etihad-airways">Etihad Airways</keyword> after having purchased them in 2005 for 1,300 crore per aircraft?" 
 
What Air India told ET in its defense is as follows. “…the long-range planes were not fuel efficient and that it (Air India) was losing money on its overseas flights, including to the US and Japan. Airline executives said it lost 1 crore per flight to the US. It lost money on flights to Japan even with a load of 80%.” 
 The CAG’s move has been welcomed by Jeetendra Bhargava, a former executive director at Air India and a known critic of the carrier. He said the decision to order the planes in 2005 should also be examined. This had been part of Air India's 111-aircraft order at the time for both Boeing and <keyword id="6356166" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Airbus">Airbus</keyword> planes. 
 Etihad is currently using the aircraft to connect Abu Dhabi to destinations in the US. <keyword id="1376569" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="The-Boeing">The Boeing</keyword> 777-200-LR has a range of 17,370 km, allowing it to connect almost any city in the world from Etihad's Abu Dhabi hub.

Two very big films coming next year. I composed two songs there. I don’t have enough time. I leave for America. Because of Slum Stars I’ve got very good contacts in Hollywood. 
 
The film got Best Film Award from Sydney. I have directed the film, and now it’s going for the National Awards. I’m also looking to submit for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Grammys">Grammys</a>. 
 
Everybody has dreams. I want to do international more. I want to project India, India’s classical fusion. I have done enough films.
