Indian-American <keyword id="370528" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Abhijit-Banerjee">Abhijit Banerjee</keyword>, who won the 2019 Nobel Prize for Economics jointly with his wife <keyword id="246805" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Esther-Duflo">Esther Duflo</keyword> and another economist <keyword id="8215232" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Michael-Kremer">Michael Kremer</keyword>, is currently the Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at the US-based <keyword id="50375" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Massachusetts-Institute-of-Technology">Massachusetts Institute of Technology</keyword> (MIT). Banerjee, born in 1961 in <keyword id="6358070" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="mumbai">Mumbai</keyword>, bagged the award for his "experimental approach to alleviating global poverty". The 58-year-old economist received his PhD in 1988 from <keyword id="97117" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Harvard-University">Harvard University</keyword>. He also studied at the University of Calcutta and Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University. In 2003, he founded the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), along with his French-American wife Duflo, who is also a MIT professor, and Sendhil Mullainathan.. National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) entrance test schedule for the next session in 2020. According to the varsity’s official website, the online registration will begin from 2 March 2020. Interested applicants can visit the official website ntajnu.nic.in. The exam will be held from 11 May 2020 to 14 May 2020. And the admit cards for the same will be rolled out on 21 April 2020. The tentative date for the declaration of result is 31 May 2020. The test will include multiple choice questions (MCQs) of 100 marks. The duration of the online examination is 90 minutes. While for the assistant professor posts, candidates must have at least two research papers during their PhD. The professor positions are open to candidates with a minimum experience of 10 years. However, in case of outstanding performers, the work experience will be negotiable.
