Jaiswal hammered a 52-ball 71 as India scored at over eight runs an over, and now trail the visitors by 95 runs. Earlier, Bangladesh were bundled out for 233 in their first innings, built around <keyword id="22750663" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mominul-Haque" source="keywords">Mominul Haque</keyword>'s patient hundred. In the previous ball also, Rahim was troubled by an angled delivery that took the edge and zoomed to the boundary ropes. New-man in Litton Das (13) began confidently, driving a length ball from Bumrah through the cover for a four and followed that up with another solid drive in the same region. Mominul stayed solid from his end and also survived an appeal off Mohammed Siraj. The southpaw was beaten, as the ball hit his thigh-pad and DRS showed the ball had not touched his glove before being taken by Jaiswal. In the next ball, Mominul completed his half-century by pulling a short one from Siraj to the square leg boundary. Rohit, standing at mid-off, pulled a stunner from thin air when Das charged down the wicket to Siraj but stood in disbelief after his powerful hit was plucked by the Indian captain. In came Shakib (9), but he did not last long. He got his first boundary by working a full-length delivery from Siraj on the leg side. Yashasvi Jaiswal hammers Bangladesh attack after Mominul's ton; India 138/2 at tea

<keyword id="1999303" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yashasvi-Jaiswal" source="Orion">Yashasvi Jaiswal</keyword>'s Test career is just 17 games old but the great <keyword id="20118658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Brian-Lara" source="keywords">Brian Lara</keyword> feels if there is anyone who can get close to his lofty feats, including the record 400 not out, it is the 22-year-old southpaw from India. Lara's high praise for <keyword id="20066174" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jaiswal" source="keywords">Jaiswal</keyword> doesn't come out of the blue. The left two-handers share a special bond, having spent a lot of time over the past year following their "4 am conversation" during the <keyword id="19906063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPL" source="keywords">IPL</keyword> when the West Indian was coaching Sunrisers Hyderabad and the young opener was in the Rajasthan Royals' camp. A lot has changed since IPL 2023 with Jaiswal now becoming an integral part of India's Test and T20 team. His exploits in the longest format stand out as he averages close to 70 with three hundreds including two double tons in the recent home series against England. What has impressed Lara is Jaiswal's ability to change gears as per the situation of the game. "If I feel my records are threatened, Jaiswal has got a very good chance to do so. He has got capabilities, couple of double hundreds already. He is that good," Lara told PTI editors at its headquarters in an interaction arranged by Star Sports where he is a commentator and expert for the ongoing IPL. Lara, who recently turned 55, is one of the all-time greats of the game having amassed close to 12, 000 runs in Tests and over 10,000 runs in ODIs. His record of the highest individual total, 400 not out against England in 2004, still stands tall. Lara fondly looked back at his first meeting with Jaiswal when asked about a light moment they shared on the sidelines of the Rajasthan Royals and SRH clash in the ongoing season. "The only thing I can reveal about that (conversation) is I think he is an outstanding young cricketer. what I like about him is that he is very humble and willing to work. The first time I met him (last year), I immediately found myself attached to him. "After the game (SRH vs Royals), I went to the hotel with a friend of mine from the Caribbean who knew Jos Buttler. It was midnight and Jaiswal found me. I promise you I left the hotel at 4 in the morning. "He just wanted to hear more and more and more. That is one of his amazing traits. His ability to want to learn as much as possible. Our conversations are about trying to make him a better cricketer. I am available for anyone that has my number. I am happy to talk cricket." Being a left-hander himself, it is natural for Lara to be biased towards that tribe. Another southpaw he has great admiration for is <keyword id="19950756" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Abhishek-Sharma" source="keywords">Abhishek Sharma</keyword> with whom he spent time at SRH. "Again he is someone who I met while I was batting coach of SRH. I spent two years there. I am allowed to a bit biased when I see a left-hander, I just love a left-hander. Myself and Abhishek have developed a very good relationship, these youngsters are very humble. they want to learn. "What I like about these two, they want to get to great heights. I have great admiration for both." The legend from Trinidad reckons that usually records are threatened by batters who score quickly and Jaiswal has that ability along with the hunger to bat long. His 400 not out has not been surpassed in 20 years and Lara hopes he is still around to see the day when his record is broken. "I think now, the pace that these guys are batting at. And you look at the guys over the years who have challenged that 300-mark and plus. It's Chris Gayle. It's Virender Sehwag. It's Sanath Jayasuriya, It's Inzamam-ul-Haq. It's Matthew Hayden. These are guys who destroy bowling attacks. "...you would not say that for a Rahul Dravid or Steve Smith in the present case. But a player who likes to score quickly, will have an opportunity. You know, Jaiswal, I mean, I was in Australia when <keyword id="19948689" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="David-Warner" source="keywords">David Warner</keyword> came close and you know, he's an aggressive player. "So I believe yes, I think it will be broken at some point in time. I think it has to be that person's destiny. Everything has to fall into place. And... I look forward to that time. I hope it happens, while I'm still around," he said. In the eliminator clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Parag scored a valuable knock of 36 in 26 balls, with two fours and two sixes. His runs came at a strike rate of 138.46. In the ongoing season, Parag has scored 567 runs at an average of 56.70 and a strike rate of 151.60. He has hit four half-centuries this season, with the best score of 84*. He is the third-highest run-scorer in the season. The most runs by an uncapped batter in a single IPL season was by RR's <keyword id="19904096" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yashasvi-Jaiswal" source="keywords">Yashasvi Jaiswal</keyword> in the 2023 season, with 625 runs in 14 games at an average of 48.07 and a strike rate of 163.61. A century and five fifties came out of his bat and his best score was 124. At number two is Australian batter Shaun Marsh, who scored 616 runs in 11 matches in the 2008 season, when he was uncapped, at an average of 68.44 and a strike rate of 139.68, with a century and five fifties. His best score was 115. Parag also has the third most runs for the Royals in a single season. The highest runs in a single season by an RR batter was by Jos Buttler in the 2022 season, when he made 863 runs in 17 games at an average of 57.53 and a strike rate of 149.05, with four centuries and four fifties. His best score was 116. Jaiswal is at the second spot with 625 runs in the 2023 season. Parag also has the second-most runs by a batter batting at number four or below in a single IPL season. At the top is Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper <keyword id="19907058" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rishabh-Pant" source="keywords">Rishabh Pant</keyword>, who scored 579 runs in the 2018 season batting in the middle-order. His overall run-tally that season was 684 runs in 14 matches at an average of 52.61, with a strike rate of 173.60. He scored a century and five fifties that season. Also, Pant scored 105 runs in three innings that season batting at number three. Coming to the match, RR won the toss and elected to bowl first. Almost every RCB batter got a start, but they could not convert them into a big knock. Rajat Patidar (34 in 22 balls, with two fours and two sixes), Virat Kohli (33 in 24 balls, with three fours and a six) and Mahipal Lomror (32 in 17 balls, with two fours and two sixes) emerged as top-scorers, taking RCB to 172/8 in their 20 overs. Avesh Khan (3/44) was the top bowler for RR. Ravichandran Ashwin (2/19) and Trent Boult (1/16) also did a fine job putting brakes on the RCB run rate. In the run-chase, the Royals got off to a fine start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (45 in 30 balls, with eight fours) and Tom Kohler Cadmore (20 in 15 balls, with four boundaries) putting on a 46-run stand. From then on, RCB bowlers applied some pressure on Rajasthan, restricting the run-flow and getting some wickets. RR was restricted to 112/4 in 13.1 overs. RR's Riyan Parag continues impressive run; rises in uncapped batter list

Their relentless display in the series has helped them overtake Australia. The side now has 122 rating points in the rankings table. Australia is second with 117 rating points, while England is at the third place with 111 rating points. India will remain at the top regardless of the outcome of the second New Zealand-Australia Test in Christchurch. The ICC World Test Championship 2023 winners Australia currently lead the two-Test series 1-0 following their 172-run victory in Wellington. With this, India is now at the summit of rankings in all three formats. They have 121 rating points in the ODI rankings, with Australia sitting a close second with 118 rating points. In the T20Is, India has 266 rating points, with England (256) at the second place. This was the scenario from September 2023 to January 2024, before India slipped to second place in Test Team Rankings after a drawn 1-1 series against South Africa. India become number one ranked Test team following series win over England

Bumrah's second-inning six-wicket haul made all the difference as, despite Aiden Markram's ton, South Africa could set only 79 for India to wrap up this Test in around 1.5 days, which India chased down successfully. Following the win, Bumrah took to Instagram, expressing his joy over the team's dominant performance. "Special day, special match," said the caption of Bumrah's post. Bumrah was crowned as India's 'Player of the Series', taking 12 wickets in two matches, with the best figures of 6/61. He also took a four-wicket haul in the first Test at Centurion and ended as the leading wicket-taker in the series. Following the match, Bumrah said in the post-match presentation, "This ground will always hold a special place in my heart. It was always a dream to play Test cricket and the journey started here, there is always fond memories of my first game. Very happy that it went well today as well. That journey started in 2018 - our bowling unit was experienced and we wanted to create an impact. "Special day, Special match": Bumrah following India's win over South Africa in 2nd Test

New Delhi, India's ODI and Test captain <keyword id="13937" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rohit-sharma" source="Orion">Rohit Sharma</keyword> is unlikely to play T20 Internationals anymore and had discussed his future in the shortest format before the start of the 50-over World Cup, according to sources in the BCCI. Rohit hasn't played a single game in the shortest format since India's T20 World Cup semi-final exit in November 2022. Hardik Pandya has mostly led the Indian team in T20Is since then. The 36-year-old India skipper has played 148 T20Is scoring 3853 runs at a strike-rate of nearly 140 with four hundreds. "It is not a new development. Rohit hasn't played any T20Is in past one year as the focus was on ODI World Cup. He had extensive discussions with chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar in this regard. He has himself volunteered to stay away from T20Is. It has completely been Rohit's call," a senior BCCI source told PTI on conditions of anonymity. After Rohit, India have four openers -- Shubman Gill, <keyword id="1999303" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="yashasvi-jaiswal" source="Orion">Yashasvi Jaiswal</keyword>, Ishan Kishan and <keyword id="4238575" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ruturaj-gaikwad" source="Orion">Ruturaj Gaikwad</keyword> -- and all of them are proven IPL performers. If the younger crop does not perform, the selectors or the BCCI brass might just ask Rohit to reconsider his current stand. It is understandable that at this stage of his career, Rohit would like to manage his workload and ensure that he remains mostly injury free for the remainder of his career. It will be impossible to play three formats and IPL each year and with seven Test to be played between December 2023 to March 2024, the Indian skipper's focus will be mostly on red-ball cricket. He still has a realistic chance of leading India to another World Test Championship (WTC) final in 2025 and his own form in traditional format has been superb since he started opening for India in 2019. Bumrah, Shami to be rotated during England Tests If all goes well, India's pace spearhead <keyword id="1627109" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="jasprit-bumrah" source="Orion">Jasprit Bumrah</keyword> will spearhead the attack in two-Test series in South Africa with Mohammed Shami and <keyword id="1807915" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mohammed-siraj" source="Orion">Mohammed Siraj</keyword>. However with five Tests in five weeks against England scheduled early next year, the pace trio will be rotated during the series. After his long injury-forced break from competitive cricket due to lower back stress fracture, there were question marks over Bumrah's ability to play red ball cricket but those in the know of things said that the Gujarat man is ready for his comeback "Bumrah is fighting fit and results were there for everyone to see. He is back at his peak fitness and is itching to play the Test matches. With Bumrah and Shami, you need to use them based on what is the priority format at a given time. Bumrah will certainly play T20 World Cup if all goes well," the BCCI source added.

Punjab Kings: PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan was the highest scorer for his team amassing 373 runs with an average of 41.44 at a strike rate of 142.91. IPL 2023: A look at top players from each franchise

A resurgent Kolkata Knight Riders will look for their third victory in a row in their fight for survival when they face a struggling Rajasthan <keyword id="6418563" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="royals" source="Orion">Royals</keyword> in the IPL here on Thursday. Facing must-win scenarios, the two-time champions showed tremendous resilience to bounce back into reckoning after their wins over Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings, both in dramatic last-ball finishes. The wins have not only boosted their sagging morale but also taken the side to sixth place from eighth on the points table. As things stand, four teams including <keyword id="6354544" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="kkr" source="Orion">KKR</keyword> and Rajasthan Royals, are locked on 10 points in a mid-table traffic rush for the playoffs. RR may be ahead on net run rate (NRR) but the equation could change quickly if KKR continue their winning run, as a victory for either side will take them into the top-four. While KKR are high on confidence after two thrilling wins, the Royals - last season's runners-up - would be at their lowest ebb after three defeats. The Royals had posted 200-plus totals but were done in by some baffling strategies in two of their three losses, which has led to a must-win scenario for them as well. In terms of key battles and team strategies, KKR would once again rely on Varun Chakravarthy, who has been the central character in both their previous wins. Having defended nine runs in the last over against SRH, Chakravarthy's 3/26 made all the difference against Punjab Kings. At a time their seasoned slow bowler Sunil Narine is finding it difficult to get wickets, Chakravarthy has emerged as KKR's spin spearhead with 17 wickets so far this season. While KKR's think-tank refuses to give up on Narine who has just one wicket in the last eight matches, it's Chakravarthy's four overs which would again be crucial. With the KKR team management not bowling World Test Championship final-bound Shardul Thakur against PBKS, the pace department looked woefully short on experience. Had it not been for the heroics of Rinku Singh and Andre Russell, the seam duo of <keyword id="848758" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vaibhav-arora" source="Orion">Vaibhav Arora</keyword> and Harshit Rana had almost lost the match after leaking 36 runs in the last two overs against PBKS. It remains to be seen if KKR utilise the services of a "fit-again" Shardul in the crunch match. Against a batter-heavy Royals with the likes <keyword id="1999303" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="yashasvi-jaiswal" source="Orion">Yashasvi Jaiswal</keyword>, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson in fine form, KKR would hope their bowlers get their act together. While KKR need to plug the gaps in the pace bowling department, the Royals must take a fresh look at their bowling strategy. Defending 214 against SRH, the Royals' decision to give Kuldip Yadav the penultimate over instead of Obed McCoy backfired as the rookie seamer conceded 24 runs. The biggest positive for KKR in their win over PBKS has been the return to form of the big-hitting Andre Russell (42 runs off 23 balls). While skipper Nitish Rana has been the backbone of their batting, Rinku's emergence as a finisher is coming off well for the team. From Starbucks offering free coffee to Dominos rewarding loyal customers with free pizzas, numerous Fortune 500 companies have incorporated some aspects of gamification into their core, so much so that customers take “points” as a way of life and subconsciously strive to get more without external stimuli. <keyword id="17153885" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nick-pelling" source="Orion">Nick Pelling</keyword> coined the term gamification in 2002 and defined it as “a tool to improve a user interface (with game elements) to make electronic transactions more enjoyable.” However, the application of gamification goes back a long way, the most notable being the Taiwanese government’s decision to use a gamified approach to ramp up its tax collection, resulting in a 75% year-on-year increase in revenue in the year 1951. As we all know, every company is attempting to bring in automation to drive<a href="https://www.infosysbpm.com/offerings/functions/web-social-media-analytics/insights/documents/leveraging-social-media-to-identify-the-most-valuable-customers-for-your-brand.pdf"> customer</a> experience and improve employee productivity. The challenge, however, is that the success of such programs is directly proportional to the extent of involvement of the employees across the value chain – idea generation, idea articulation and quantification, idea execution, and finally associated change management and sustenance. With this as the backdrop, we would like to introduce our thoughts on driving automation through gamification to make this process exciting and self-driven. The idea originated when we observed we had to “push” entities to drive transformation/automation, especially on the Operations floor. We had to add “pull” factors such as awards, incentives, project certifications, etc. to capture attention and drive synergy organically. In other words, we had to “engage” and “inspire” folks at various levels to drive themselves into thinking and executing ideas. Gamification to the rescue – Using game elements brings engagement and excitement across the automation value chain. The intricacies involved (naming and creating a team, the sense of competing with peers, and the satisfaction of seeing the Leaderboards, etc.) give folks the impetus that was missing sans gamification. A survey conducted by a training company found that 89% of the employees felt gamification made them more productive at work, and 88% thought it made them happier at work. Almost 9 out of 10 workers felt that competitiveness and the drive to engage increased when a specific task was gamified. <div type="image" title="image 1" msid="99514252" hostid="261"></div> <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Breaking it down" comment="subhead" text="Breaking it down">Breaking it down</cmsannotation> Doing it together: Gamification drives teamwork! It drives the teams toward a common goal while promoting friendly competition and a sense of purpose. Incorporating gamification into activities such as a hackathon, botathon, etc. adds zest to the initiatives. Wearing your badges: Badges are rewards that symbolically recognise the achievements of participants. Whether it is an employee who submitted an <a href="https://www.infosysbpm.com/offerings/business-transformation-services/insights/documents/automating-reinsurance-processes-through-digital-transformation.pdf">automation</a> idea, a developer who deployed automation, or an employee who learned a new automation skill these badges will surely be worn as a “badge of honour” – a sure way of acknowledging the success each person had. Knowing your scores: A leaderboard is a list of high scores used in most of today's games and gamified processes. The primary purpose of a leaderboard is to boost engagement, bring recognition, and foster competition. <div type="image" title="Leaderboard - Gamification - Updated" msid="99982140" hostid="261" sizebytes="41878"></div> Knowing your rewards: Gamification provides a sense of achievement that 'rewards' the brain each time you achieve a goal. Some recognition is given to participants for exclusive one-time accomplishments. For example, participants who submit an automation idea for the first time, or those that are consistently performing at an “epic win” level. Owning the success: There is an unambiguous and objective way of choosing the “winner.” This gives the participants a sense of fair play and transparency, leaving nothing to subjectivity. With subjectivity eliminated, there is trust and belief in the process. Also, this transparency brings in peer acknowledgement and acceptance. Gamification has the potential to truly democratise the digital journey for organisations by incentivizing employees in their digital learnings, engaging them in defining the future state of the process and enabling them to develop their automation solutions leveraging No code/low code applications.
