Without specifying reasons, SEBI stated that the "issuance of observations (has been) kept in abeyance," according to an update on its website on Monday. JSW Cement, part of the diversified <keyword id="20099967" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jsw-group" source="keywords">JSW Group</keyword>, filed the preliminary IPO papers with SEBI on August 16. The proposed issue involves a new issue of <keyword id="20035340" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="equity-shares" source="keywords">equity shares</keyword> worth Rs 2,000 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of Rs 2,000 crore by <keyword id="23013062" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="investor-shareholders" source="keywords">investor shareholders</keyword>, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) filed with the regulator. Under the OFS, AP Asia Opportunistic Holdings Pte. Ltd and Synergy Metals Investments Holding Ltd will offload shares worth Rs 937.5 crore each and <keyword id="19934368" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="State-Bank-of-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="State Bank of India" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="State Bank of India">State Bank of India</keyword> (SBI) will divest shares valued at Rs 125 crore. Proceeds from the fresh issue to the tune of Rs 800 crore will be used for partially financing the establishment of a new integrated <keyword id="23013063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cement-unit" source="keywords">cement unit</keyword> in Nagaur, Rajasthan, while Rs 720 crore will be allocated for payment of debt and the remaining funds will be allocated for general corporate purposes. JSW Cement, which has a manufacturing capacity of 19 MT annually, aims to achieve the capacity of 60 MTPA. It currently has manufacturing units at Vijayanagar in Karnataka, Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh, Salboni in West Bengal, Jajpur in Odisha and Dolvi in Maharashtra. Besides, JSW Cement through its subsidiary Shiva Cement operates a clinker unit in Odisha. JSW Group has business interests in sectors such as steel, energy, maritime infrastructure, defence, B2B e-commerce, realty, paints, sports and venture capital. JM Financial Ltd, Axis Capital Ltd, Citigroup Global Markets India Private Ltd, DAM Capital Advisors Ltd, Goldman Sachs (India) Securities Private Ltd, Jefferies India Private Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Ltd and SBI Capital Markets Ltd are responsible for managing the company's IPO process.

SEBI places JSW Cement's Rs 4,000-cr IPO on hold for now

While Sensex was trading at 79,274.72 points, down by over 430 points, while Nifty was at 24,222.35, dipping by 0.6%. <keyword id="22754224" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Grasim-Paints" source="keywords">Grasim Paints</keyword>, JSW Steel, Cipla gained over 1% each, while <keyword id="20026009" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Asian-Paints" source="keywords">Asian Paints</keyword> and <keyword id="19906967" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors" source="keywords">Tata Motors</keyword> also gained lead during early trade. <keyword id="22754225" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Adani-Entertainment" source="keywords">Adani Entertainment</keyword>, <keyword id="20051210" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Adani-Ports" source="keywords">Adani Ports</keyword>, <keyword id="19903558" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NTPC" source="keywords">NTPC</keyword>, <keyword id="19906098" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="SBI-Life" source="keywords">SBI Life</keyword> and Tata Consumers were amidst the leading laggards. Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares notes that a range of 23,970-24,400 is a make or break for Nifty, and a breakout on either side will open the door for a further 300-400 points. The same observation was also seen in BankNifty with a range of 49,730-50,730. "Some stocks look strong on a technical front Balrampur Chini and United Spirits, HUL, and ITC. The media segment shows stock-specific buying (Network18 &amp; SunTV). The pharma sector has extended its strong uptrend and breakout in a few counters are indicating further rally in the sector (Alkem Labs, IPCA Labs, and Mankind Pharma)", he continued. All broad market indices dipped during early trade, about 1% each, with the exception of India VIX, which inched up about 5.57%. Only consumer durables and realty saw shoots of greens during opening trade today, while media dipped over 1%. Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities, highlights that "benchmark indices experienced profit booking at higher levels last week. Nifty closed 1.42% down, while Sensex closed 1,260 points lower. The metal index declined by nearly 3%, while healthcare and pharma stocks held positive momentum despite weak market sentiment. The market slipped below the 20-day SMA (simple moving average) during the week but recovered some losses in the second half and eventually closed at 24,367/79,722. "For the week, 23,800/78,000 and 24,500/80,100 are expected to be the major support and resistance levels. Above 24,500/80,100, the market may continue the pullback formation until 24,700/80,600 or even 24,900/81,200. On the other hand, below 24,100/78,600, selling pressure may increase, potentially leading to a drop to the 50-day SMA and 23,800/78,000", he said. "The suggested strategy is to reduce long positions until the market crosses 24,500 levels. Considering trading bets above 24,500 is advisable as there may be a technical breakout that could push the market towards 24,900 levels. Below 23,800, it could fall to 23,300 levels", continued Chouhan.

Stock market opening: Sensex, Nifty see muted start, Asian Paints, Grasim take lead

The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 159.18 points to reach an all-time peak of 74,245.17 in early trade. The Nifty went up by 49.6 points to 22,523.65. However, later the markets turned volatile and both the benchmark indices were trading between highs and lows. The US markets ended in the positive territory on Wednesday. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought equities worth Rs 2,766.75 crore on Wednesday, according to exchange data. "There are some distinct trends in the market now. One, largecaps are outperforming mid and smallcaps. Two, Bank Nifty is emerging stronger led by private sector majors like ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Kotak Bank. Three, regulatory action on some NBFCs have impacted sentiments in the entire NBFC space, which, in turn, is improving sentiments in the high quality private banking space," said V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services. Global oil benchmark Brent crude dipped 0.13 per cent to USD 82.85 a barrel. The BSE benchmark jumped 408.86 points or 0.55 per cent to settle at a new record high of 74,085.99 on Wednesday. The Nifty climbed 117.75 points or 0.53 per cent to settle at a fresh closing peak of 22,474.05.

Sensex, Nifty hit fresh record peaks in early trade; JSW Steel & Tata Steel among top gainers

New Delhi, <keyword id="45609" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="JSW-Steel" source="Orion">JSW Steel</keyword> on Friday posted about three-fold jump in net profit at Rs 2,428 crore for June quarter 2023-24 on account of higher income. It had posted Rs 839 crore net profit in the corresponding period of 2022-23, JSW Steel said in a regulatory filing. Total income also rose to Rs 42,544 crore from Rs 38,275 crore in the year-ago quarter, it said. Expenses were at Rs 39,030 crore as against Rs 36,977 crore earlier. JSW Steel is the flagship business of diversified JSW Group, which has presence in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, cement, paints, sports, and venture capital. The company's board at its meeting held on Friday appointed Swayam Saurabh as Chief Financial Officer designate, it said.

JSW Steel Q1 2023-24 profit nearly triples to Rs 2,428 cr

Notably, Infosys declared its Q1FY25 results yesterday, where it saw its net profits jump by 7% on YoY basis to touch Rs 6,368 crore. The company's revenue from operations during the quarter was also up by 3.6% YoY, up to Rs 39,315 crore. Aether India, Bluedart, ICICI Lombard, JSW Steel, Mahindra EPC, Wipro, NAM India and Ultratech are set to declare their Q1FY25 results later in the day. The psychological level of 25,000 will be considered an immediate hurdle while 24,500 will serve as strong support on the lower side". Per him, the strategy should be to buy around support levels and reduce long positions at resistance levels.

JSW Infrastructure will be the third company of the <keyword id="144036" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="jsw-group" source="Orion">JSW Group</keyword> to be listed on the bourses after JSW Energy and JSW Steel. The ports business of the JSW Group filed the DRHP on May 9. Going by the draft papers, the IPO is purely a fresh issue of equity shares with no offer-for-sale (OFS) component, and the promoters will not be diluting their current stake through the issue. The company will use the proceeds to retire its debt as well as to fund its capacity expansion projects, as per the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). JSW Infrastructure has an installed cargo handling capacity of 153.43 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) for multi-commodity cargo including dry bulk, break bulk, liquid bulk, gases and containers. As of December 31, 2022, JSW Infrastructure had a net debt of Rs 2,875 crore. JSW celebrates the unstoppable spirit of the Indian contingent headed to Tokyo Olympics 2020

Benchmark indices <keyword id="6484188" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sensex" source="Orion">Sensex</keyword> and Nifty pared early gains to close marginally lower in highly volatile trade on Thursday due to losses in Larsen &amp; Toubro and cautious trading ahead of the release of domestic inflation data. The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 35.68 points or 0.06 per cent to settle at 61,904.52 after hitting the crucial 62,000 mark in opening deals. During the day, it hit a low of 61,823.07 and a high of 62,168.22. The NSE Nifty dipped 18.10 points or 0.10 per cent to end at 18,297. Among the Sensex firms, Larsen &amp; Toubro tumbled over 5 per cent after the firm said its Non-Executive Chairman A M Naik has decided to step down from the post. ITC, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra and Tata Consultancy Services were the other laggards. However, Asian Paints rose the most by 3.22 per cent after it posted a 43.97 per cent growth in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,258.41 crore for the fourth quarter. Hindustan Unilever, NTPC, IndusInd Bank, UltraTech Cement and Maruti were the gainers. Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services said, "The gains in the domestic market were tempered by weak earnings reported by a few heavyweight companies. On the global front, markets remained positive as US inflation eased below 5 per cent, providing reassurance to investors that the Fed's rate hike measures have been effective in managing inflation levels" In Asia, Seoul, Shanghai and Hong Kong markets ended lower while Tokyo settled in the green. Mumbai, Enterprising wicketkeeper-batsman <keyword id="3142448" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rishabh-Pant">Rishabh Pant</keyword>, whose heroics helped India register one of their most memorable Test wins against Australia in Brisbane, has signed a multi-year contract with <keyword id="1689087" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="JSW-Sports">JSW Sports</keyword>. The <keyword id="30336" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Deal">deal</keyword> will see the firm manage all commercial interests and marketing rights of 23-year-old Pant. Mustafa Ghouse, CEO of <keyword id="13852" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="JSW">JSW</keyword> Sports, said that JSW was looking for a <keyword id="3876678" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="long-association">long association</keyword> with the talented left-hander. "This contract will last as long as he plays. But right now, we are looking at it for a couple of years -- a minimum of two years -- and then we will extend it," Ghouse, a former India Davis Cup tennis player told. "The conditions for extending the contract beyond two years would, basically, be comfort and delivery; both parties have to be happy," he said. As part of the association, JSW Sports will manage Pant's image positioning and all his commercial engagements, including brand endorsements and appearances, social media monetisation and business deals. On Tuesday, Pant scored a brilliant 89 not out as India chased down a 328-run target on Day Five for the Brisbane Test, thus becoming a first team in over 32 years to beat Australia at the Gabba.
