<ul><li><keyword id="3119261" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="IvyCamp">Ivycamp</keyword>, the incubation arm of Ivycap ventures, has 5000 IIT/IIM alumni on board and 4000 <keyword id="6362513" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="startups">startups</keyword>. </li><li>They are working with corporates to help them find the right startups to work with. </li><li>Ivycamp has worked with the likes of Airbus, Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, Sonata and more.</li></ul>In India, the startup craze was led by the graduates of IITs and IIMs. Investors too got on a call with you easier to speak funding if you were an IIT or IIM alum. Even today, stories of IIT graduates building a new startup are quite common.<br /><br />And this became the premise of IvyCamp, a platform from Ivycap ventures which helps startups connect with investors and corporates, leveraging the IIT, IIM alumni network.<br /><br />Vikram Gupta and Anju Gupta, friends from IIT Delhi, once got talking about the effective alumni networks abroad especially in the Bay Area. <br /><br />They launched IvyCap ventures  in 2011 with an aim to be driven by IIT alumni and one of its key investors too was the IIT alumni trust. In 2014, IvyCamp was launched which served as a platform to connect alumni, startup founders and corporates for investments, mentorship and partnership. <br /><br />“A lot of the alumni were approaching us as to how they could be more involved in the Indian startup ecosystem. We wanted to create an engagement platform that could leverage this vast alumni network,” said Gupta. <br /><br />Today, they have 5000 alums on board, 4000 startups and a global mentor and investor network.<br /><br />Two years ago, they started working with corporates. “Airbus approached us to work with them for their accelerator because we had the domain expertise to evaluate startups,” said Gupta. <br /><br />And that became another goldmine of projects, for corporates lined up for more and more accelerator programs and associations. <br /><br />IvyCamp recently partnered with HDFC Life to launch a program called Futurance, to create business opportunities in insurance. <br /><br />Over the years, the perspective of both startups and corporates have changed. Gupta said that startups have evolved and are no longer restricting their interests with investors and VC funds. They are now more eager to work with corporates to get the brand name, domain expertise and access to customers.<br /><br />On the other side, corporates too face many problems. “They have an R&amp;D arm but it doesn’t work as fast as the startup. They are realising that there is no readymade fixed solutions to the challenges and they will have to work with startups to get tailormade solutions,” said Gupta.<br />

They pay well, too, with many interns at both bulge-bracket and boutique banks earning a prorated summer salary on a scale that's upwards of $100,000.</p><p>As you might imagine, actually landing one of these internships is notoriously competitive. The biggest US banks can receive hundreds of thousands of applications for a relatively small number of roles each summer — meaning they can be tougher to crack than landing a spot at an Ivy League university.</p><p>Take Goldman Sachs, for instance, which accepted just 1.5% of candidates into its 2022 summer internship class out of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-sachs-receives-record-236000-internship-applications-despite-burnout-reports-2022-4">more than 236,000 applications</a> worldwide, according to a person with knowledge of the bank's recruiting efforts.</p><p>So how do you become one of the lucky few to receive such an offer? Insider asked a top venture capitalist who got her start as an intern at JPMorgan Chase — and used effective email networking with people she didn't already know to help her get the gig in the first place.</p><p>It took about 150 emails in all, according to Amy Cheetham, a partner at Costanoa Ventures, an early-stage investment firm based in Palo Alto, California. It is also expected to grow between 17-26% CAGR in the coming years and with women shedding off their inhibitions and keen to try bolder colours, material and designs instead of the usual black and white bras means one thing- <keyword id="460" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="lingerie">lingerie</keyword> brands need to up their game.<br />
<br /> But how do the brands know what a girl wants? Two year old premier lingerie brand <keyword id="2890229" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Clovia">Clovia</keyword>, founded by <keyword id="3077900" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Pankaj-Vermani">Pankaj Vermani</keyword>, who holds a Masters in Computer Applications from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/IITs-to-increase-PhD-enrollments-in-coming-years/articleshow/47553594.cms">IIT</a> Delhi and backed by Ivy Cap Ventures, Zurich-based Mountain Partners AG and a group of private investors, seems to have found the answer.<br />
<br /> The company has started using <keyword id="774829" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Big-Data">big data</keyword> and technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence for manufacturing undergarments. To simplify, they manufacture lingerie based on the design and the quantities the customer wants.<br />

Elaborating on the process, Vermani says, “Clovia stands for an amalgamation of fashion and technology and through this, we’re trying to stick to those very beliefs. Traditionally, brands have already made a decision regarding what customers want to wear, irrespective of whether it is right or wrong. We intend to change that.”<br />

The idea is to let the proprietary technology engine analyse the speed at which the products are selling and the customer’s feedback on the products. Based on the interest from the customer, which is indicated via selling patterns and the feedback from the consumer, the system decides which design or style needs to be replenished and which should be discarded, he adds.<br />

“The Clovia Design team spawns multiple styles of bras, briefs and night wears in the market in small quantities, sometimes almost 1/10<sup>th</sup> of the industry’s standard for minimum quantities. Once put to sale, the technology team takes over and manages the entire decision-making from there on. I lead and look after the whole process to ensure it works out seamlessly,” Vermani (in picture above) tells us.<br />

On being asked what prompted this move, he shares that it was the common problem faced by everyone- find that a product you like is either sold out or not available in your size. “These glitches hamper the consumer’s shopping experience and as a brand, we aim to minimize all these obstacles. Apart from this, we’re also keeping an eye on generating insights based on historical data regarding seasons, geographical preferences of customers and even times of day!<br />

“There is no better way to increase your target audience than by understanding them,” Vermani claims.<br />

He adds that due to utilizing this technology, Clovia is maintaining one of the most efficient inventories, reducing operational costs and increasing profit margins.<br />

“Thanks to better management and opportunity speculations, the production has gone up to 5 lakh units per month and we are now selling internationally as well and most of the inventory is usually under 30-45 days! That’s phenomenal in an industry plagued by unsold stocks and constant liquidations eating into profit margins.”<br />
<br />
To conclude, Vermani quips, “India is at a cusp of an innerwear revolution, and Clovia is right in the middle of it – ready to welcome a brave new world!”<br />
