Hiring talented workforce is becoming difficult and in a bid to get the best of the industry, the talent managers want an increase in the hiring budget. As compared to other countries, India has an urgent requirement of talented workforce and as per a survey, it was revealed that the hiring budget should be increased. 
 In India, 63% of the talent leaders expect an increase in hiring budgets, which is a lot more than the global average of 37%, according to annual India <keyword id="3873916" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="recruiting-trends">Recruiting Trends</keyword> survey for 2017, which was conducted by <keyword id="28120" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Linkedin">LinkedIn</keyword>. 
 
To drive out the competition, talent leaders are opting for different initiatives to lure candidates and building stronger employer brand. 
 
The survey also highlighted the rise and reign of employee referrals in India; with Indian companies leading their global peers in leveraging referrals as channel for quality hires. 
 
Also, the belief in employer branding has increased over the past years. From 78% in 2015, belief in employer branding has increased to 84% this year, among talent leaders who believe that a strong employer brand has a significant impact on their ability to hire great talent. 
 
According to the survey, for 39% of talent leaders, their team is primarily responsible for building the employer brand. For this, talent leaders rely on websites and social professional networks platforms to generate awareness amongst prospective candidates. 
 
“90% talent and HR leaders list talent as a number one priority at their organizations. In India, employee referrals continue to be the top source of quality hires for 63% of talent leaders, marking an 8% increase from the last year,” the survey by LinkedIn read. 
 
It also indicated that Business Development, Sales, and Engineering emerge as high priority roles that require effective recruitment strategies and customized employer branding content to attract the right talent. 
 
The survey also highlighted the need for automation in the present scenario. Indian talent leaders are in favor of using technology and innovative tools for recruiting. Thirty-eight percent (38%) state that, better sourcing tools would be one of the priority investments in the future. Further, with hiring demands growing in India, talent leaders are looking for automated ways to screen candidates. 
 
Employers are now relying on modern techniques now. Innovative interviewing tools (42%) and candidate relationship management tools (36%) are emerging trends in the Indian recruiting industry. This sentiment is higher for Indian talent leaders as compared to their global counterparts. 
 “While 2016 was a year of recruitment consolidation for many employers, 2017 is shaping up to be more optimistic for both employers and employees. In today’s 'always-on' online culture, organizations that combine traditional recruitment approaches with new social media driven recruitment strategies are going to be able to future proof their recruitment plans. Additionally, recruiters who implement talent-focused communication strategies and effective talent screening processes are likely to receive higher market value and revenue per employee in the long run,” said <keyword id="2187919" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Irfan-Abdulla">Irfan Abdulla</keyword>, Director Talent Solutions, LinkedIn India

Majority of talent leaders in India want a push in hiring budgets, states LinkedIn survey

Most <keyword id="40254" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="professionals">professionals</keyword> in India are satisfied with their current jobs but are also open to explore new <keyword id="6435206" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="job-opportunities">job opportunities</keyword>, according to LinkedIn's 2015 Talent Trends India report. 

	The report also says that 55% of Indian professionals define their job search as "passively looking", reported PTI. 
 "In this dynamic and active talent landscape, recruiters need to rethink their strategies and focus on building strong employer brands," <keyword id="278010" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="LinkedIn-India">LinkedIn India</keyword> <keyword id="2918793" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Director-Talent-Solutions-Irfan-Abdulla">Director Talent Solutions Irfan Abdulla</keyword> said. 

	Moreover the LinkedIn report also noted that professionals now days appreciate a company that values their career and is communicative during the interview process. 
 

	About 95% of the active candidates surveyed said that they want to receive interview feedback whether or not they end up with the company. 
 

	"A candidate's interview experience plays an important role in converting candidates into hires and steps such as getting back to the candidates with interview feedback, regardless of them being hired for the job, helps strengthen a company's overall employer brand," Abdulla added. 
 

	When finally deciding on the job offer the top factor that influences a job seeker is compensation, professional development and better work-life balance. 
 

	Nearly one in two professional surveyed said that they had updated their resumes in the last one month. More than one third of the respondents surveyed said they updated their profiles on LinkedIn in the last one month, according the report.
 

	The second annual Talent Trends report focuses on exploring how talent approaches the job search journey from start to hire.

Professionals keen on new job opportunities despite being satisfied in present role

Referral systems are slowly becoming companies’ favourite way of hiring new people, since it involves asking its own employees to recommend candidates, making sure that only worthy candidates appear for the interview. In turn, employees get rewarded. 
 A majority of Indian companies are now using top technology for referral hires, since it involves lesser time and also increases employee’s sense of belongingness with the company. "Nearly 55% of talent leaders see <keyword id="2813966" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="employee-referral-programmes">employee referral programmes</keyword> as the top source of quality hire," Irfan Abdulla, director, talent solutions, LinkedIn India, told ET. 
 
Top companies going the referral way for hiring include Coca-Cola, Infosys, Genpact, Capgemini, Deloitte, and Jubilant etc, with the mentioned names reporting hiring over 40% of their workforce through referrals. 
 
When it comes to rewarding employees for successful referrals, companies are paying more to employees who recommend more women for roles, which also helps in bridging the gender gap in company’s workforce. 
 
For example, Capgemini has launched 'recruitHER' for employees to upload profiles of female candidates to be eligible for a lucky draw. Coca-Cola also boasts of 31% women associates since they place a 15-20% premium on female candidates that get hired through referrals. 
 
While some companies pay referrals in terms of cash, there are some companies that like to give out gifts like kindles and external hard disks in case employees refer someone who makes it to the workforce.

Fat salary packages are not the only thing that attracts Indian professionals now. They are looking for much more, such as career growth opportunities, company’s vision and mission, etc. 
 A survey by <keyword id="28120" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Linkedin">LinkedIn</keyword> suggests, in India, 14 out of 25 top companies were home-grown firms in which Indian professionals want to work. 
 
LinkedIn announced its first-ever Top Attractors List in which it examined LinkedIn data and unveiled the top companies where professionals want to work now. 
 
“It is important that employers continue to build and invest in an employer brand that relates to, and resonates with both potential and existing employees,” said Irfan Abdulla, Director Talent Solutions, LinkedIn India 
 
During the survey, LinkedIn found out what Indian professionals were looking in an employer. 
 
It stated that opportunity for career growth (79%); a competitive salary (69%); and a healthy business (62%) were top three preferences.
