It is not only considering <keyword id="6418358" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Patents">patents</keyword> filed by women innovators, however. In fact, according to the rules noted in the draft, even if one of the members from the group filing the patent is a female, the application will be accelerated for examination by Indian Patent Office. Notably, there was no such provision in the country’s patent rules so far. This may be because not a lot of women entrepreneurs have sought patents. While, <a href="https://www.thestar.com.my/tech/tech-news/2018/04/30/a-third-of-global-patents-by-women/">according to World Intellectual Property Organisation (Wipo) data</a>, women account for nearly one-third of patents, globally, with the highest number of patents coming from the biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and chemistry sectors, it noted. Overall, Indians account for only 17%-18% of total registrations. The country marks seventh for the patent filing office in the world. The DIPP plans to cut down on the time incurred while examining and granting patents. To accelerate the patent granting process, the department is also looking to increase its headcount with more hirings and evolving with the growing technology. At present, the process takes 5-7 years including filing an application, the publication involved, examining the patent and finally granting it to the group. But, the DIPP is bidding to trim it to 18 months by March, 2020. According to stats recorded for this financial year, the country granted 13,045 <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/india-doubled-the-number-of-patents-it-granted-last-year-but-less-than-20-went-to-residents-and-entities-based-in-the-country/articleshow/66948">patents</a>, which is nearly 3,100 more than the last year (2016-17). India wants to dramatically speed up the processing time of patent applications filed by women

The Indian government too has made way for funds to boost female entrepreneurship, while VCs have been actively looking out to bridge the gender gap in the country's startup sector. The government’s Startup India runs a Women Entrepreneurship programme as well. However, funding is still a challenge for female entrepreneurs in India. According to a <a href="https://www.livemint.com/companies/start-ups/why-women-entrepreneurs-are-missing-from-india-s-startup-story-11582267821850.html">report</a>, the percentage of funded startups with at least one female co-founder went down from 17% in 2018 to a mere 12% in 2019. Yet, there is hope. According to a report by Bain &amp; Company and Google, women entrepreneurs can generate 150–170 million job opportunities in India by 2030. Many of these ideas have even transformed themselves into business propositions, with entrepreneurs making money off it. But, unfortunately there also exists numerous ideas that do not see the light of the day, simply because no one has taken the responsibility of fine-tuning it or because the idea has gotten lost amid numerous others. 
 
But, that has hardly stopped the residents of the country’s largest democracy from dreaming. While the country witnesses the rise and fall of startups, there is nothing that could stop the aspiring entrepreneurs to give it a shot and seek their seed. 
 
Naturally, they could do with a little guidance- just like the contestants in the American reality show <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=shark+tank&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Shark Tank</a>. In the show, aspiring entrepreneur-contests make business presentations to a panel of ‘shark’ <keyword id="6359051" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="investors">investors</keyword>, who then choose whether or not to invest. It’s a win-win, really! 
 
Not only do <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=indian+entreprenuers&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">aspiring entrepreneurs</a> know if their idea is worth it or not, but they also get the opportunity to be heard- that too by eminent investors. 
 So, the question really is- Does India and its entrepreneurs need a version of <keyword id="1417364" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shark-Tank">Shark Tank</keyword>? We certainly think so.

1) India’s got talent: No one doubts the fact that India can truly surpass the innovation happening at the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=silicon+valley&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Silicon Valley</a>. But what is really stopping us from getting there? We can’t say that a show like Shark Tank will wave a magic wand and India will rise… but we have to start somewhere and a platform like this will truly give that perfect start. We’ve got ideas, passion, vision which we really want to take it to the next level and being heard by eminent investors will certainly help in that regard. 
 
2) A platform for household and rural ventures: Major innovation is happening in households &amp; rural areas. It is time we give them a platform where dreams of people who would otherwise never think of something big can get a chance which would change their lives. Numeroud good ideas get lost because most of the entrepreneurs hailing from the rural areas have no direct access to investors. Shark Tank would definitely change that narrative. 
 
3) Ideas need wings: Ideas make it large when there are funds to test them in real life. In order to give inspiring ideas their wings, a platform like Shark Tank, modified for the Indian tastes would be ideal. 
 
4) Investors/ Incubators, co-working platforms and big ideas all under one roof: What more could an aspiring entrepreneur want if not having all the factors to materialise their startup dream are available under one roof? <keyword id="3573504" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="desi-shark-tank">Desi Shark Tank</keyword> is something which could make this happen. 
 
5) Reality check is important: While we leave behind <keyword id="6357722" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="silicon-valley">Silicon Valley</keyword> and emerge as the hub of innovative, creative <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=startups&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">startups</a>, some ideas would be worth giving a reality check so that we don’t witness the fall of the startup ecosystem. The world knows <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=sunny+leone&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Sunny Leone</a> as a former adult entertainer, a recent <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=sunny+leone&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Bollywood</a> import and the recipient of the ‘most searched star on the internet in India’ for four years in a row, but that’s not how the 35-year-old wants to be remembered. 
 
Having launched her recent perfume line ‘Lust,’ in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=dubai&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Dubai</a> barely a week back, the actress is keen to establish herself as an entrepreneur, as well. 
 
Her aim is to create a brand by tapping into various categories. 
 
At the moment, Leone’s recent line of investments includes a franchise for a box league cricket, web-based short stories, and an online game apart from fragrances. She is also keen to enter categories such as shoes, accessories, jewellery and apparels with her own line of products. 
Apart from focusing on Bollywood, the actress who was always interested in business from a young age is keen to expand her brand profile in India.

In fact, the star remembers how as a child she would put up lemonade stands during summers and shovelled snow in the winters to earn money. 
 
Her official foray into the big bad world of business started with her understanding of adult content as a business industry. But, she wanted more. “I wanted to own a website and run my company and build my brand” she said in an interview and what followed was her handling everything. 
 
In order to manage her website, she learnt HTML, video-editing, photography among others and in the process of doing everything from start to finish, Leone also learnt the harsh reality of website traffic. 
 
“In a digital world, traffic is the best thing you can have. So I learnt where to send this traffic and how to capitalise all of it,” she added. 
 
Over the years, that also included her move to India from Canada, Leone has started believing in slow and steady businesses. By her own admission, she doesn’t believe in fast-paced businesses. 
 
It was only after she decided to participate in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=bigg+boss&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Big Boss</a> did she realise the enormity of the reach her brand had in the Indian market, which ultimately led to her deciding to move to the country with her husband.

1. Lust perfume line

Inspired by the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=kardashians&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Kardashian</a> model, Leone’s perfume line is aimed at the mass market. For the same reason, the price has been kept highly competitive to attract the consuming class. 
 
While the Lust Deo is priced at Rs 249, the Eau De Toilet comes at Rs 999. 
 
The perfume line has been designed by the actress herself, and includes, women perfumes and men and women deos. 
 
The distribution of the products has already begun, both in the online and offline categories. 
 
 
2. Box-league cricket team Chennai Swaggers

In February, the actress also unveiled her celebrity box league cricket team Chennai Swaggers, as part of a reality show cricket tournament backed by Balaji’s <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ekta+kapoor&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Ekta Kapoor </a>and featuring well known television stars as players. 
 
Justifying her decision of buying a cricket team, Leone said that though she loved several games, she fell in love with cricket after coming to India. 
 
Chennai Swaggers features a handful of known names from the Television industry that includes Shabbir Ahluwalia, Mouni Roy, Sangram Singh and Ritwick Dhanjani among others. 
 
 
3. <keyword id="465663" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sweet-Dreams">Sweet Dreams</keyword>

This year also saw Leone taking to the pen and churning out original mobile-first collection of erotic short stories under the title Sweet Dreamsin association with Chiki Sarkar’s publishing house, Juggernaut. 
 
Released in April this year, one had to sign in one the Juggernaut app on their mobile phones to buy Sweet Dreams. After purchasing the title, all one had to do is sit back, as one short story would be delivered to their phone daily at 10 pm. 
 
Reportedly, Leone finished writing the 12 erotic short stories in a span of three months.

Sunny Leone also has an online game called Teen Patti to her credit, which was launched in December, last year, in partnership with Gamiana, a game development company. 
 
The game combines two of India's popular hobbies -- Teen Patti and Bollywood.
