Following Friday's operation, specialist teams from the Navy undertook a thorough sanitisation and seaworthiness check of the fishing vessel in order to escort it to a safe area for resuming normal fishing activities, according to an official statement shared by a Navy spokesperson. The Navy said late on Friday evening that it was engaged in an operation to free the fishing vessel from pirates. Nine armed pirates had reportedly boarded the vessel. The hijacked vessel was intercepted on Thursday, the Navy said. "INS Sumedha intercepted FV 'Al Kambar' during early hours of Friday and was joined subsequently by the guided missile frigate INS Trishul," it said. "After more than 12 hours of intense coercive tactical measures as per the SOPs, the pirates on board the hijacked fishing vessel were forced to surrender. The crew, comprising 23 Pakistani nationals, have been safely rescued," the Navy added. The fishing vessel was approximately 90 nm (nautical miles) southwest of Socotra when the pirates reportedly boarded it, it said. Hence, even though women view GenAI as a crucial step in their professional journey, most of them still aren't confident using it. The report, titled "GenAI: The Diversity Game Changer We Can't Ignore," was unveiled at the nasscom Global Inclusion Summit in Bengaluru on August 8, 2024. The report highlights that women in both tech and non-tech roles exhibit high levels of professional ambition and are willing to put in extra effort to achieve success. This ambition is particularly pronounced in the AI/GenAI field, where women see mentorship as a key factor in their success. Currently, women make up 36% of India’s tech workforce but remain underrepresented in executive roles. GenAI, which involves advanced AI tools that can create new content, designs, and solutions, is seen as a game-changer for the tech industry. As GenAI is expected to dominate 33% of the global AI landscape by 2027, the market is projected to reach $320-380 billion. This rapid growth presents a unique opportunity for fostering gender diversity by helping women overcome traditional barriers and excel in their careers. The report reveals that women are ready to invest more time to achieve professional success in GenAI. According to the survey findings, 95% of junior, 96% of mid-management, and 100% of senior management women are prepared to put in extra effort. Women also view GenAI tools as a significant boost to their perceived competence, with 45% of <keyword id="20599228" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="women-in-tech" source="keywords">women in tech</keyword> roles feeling more confident compared to their non-tech peers. <h2>Challenges in GenAI adoption</h2>Despite the enthusiasm, many women at senior management levels face challenges in adopting GenAI tools. Most women in tech feel GenAI can help them grow in their careers but don't know how to use it, Nasscom-BCG reports

This is the third consecutive year that the share of women in the senior management roles 'considered essential for promoting diversity at workplaces' continued to decline, the report by consultancy firm <keyword id="20034170" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="grant-thornton-bharat" source="keywords">Grant Thornton Bharat</keyword> said. The onset of the pandemic around four years ago triggered a move to working from home, which offered a lot of flexibility for all the workers. However, with things getting back to normal, there has been a shift to working from offices and many companies are also ending the hybrid work models which they had adopted as the pandemic waned. The report, which comes ahead of the International Women's Day on March 8, is based on the inputs from about 300 women in senior management roles from as many companies. The consultancy firm said 34 per cent of women in Indian mid-market businesses currently hold senior management positions, which is modestly down from 36 per cent in 2023 and 38 per cent in 2022. It, however, stressed that the current percentage is much higher when compared to the 12 per cent figure in 2004 and 14 per cent a decade ago in 2014. Businesses offering a hybrid model have decreased to 56.5 per cent in 2024 from 62.3 per cent last year, while those asking employees to return to the office have increased to 34.7 per cent in 2024 from 27.4 per cent in 2023. It said staff working out of their homes has also significantly dipped to 1.8 per cent in 2024 from 5.3 per cent in 2023. The consultancy firm's chief business officer <keyword id="20865785" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="satya-jha" source="keywords">Satya Jha</keyword> said the need of the hour is to allow employees to work flexibly. He went inside the medical investigation room, which was also on fire, to retrieve the critical medical aid box but could not make it out due to heavy fire amid strong winds. Unlike others, it hasn't been decommissioned.The Constitution, known as America's Ship of State, needed a tugboat's assistance for the entirety of an hours-long underway in the Boston Harbor to honor women veterans of the US armed forces. When it sets sail, the tall ship moves slowly, escorted by police boats and the Coast Guard and helicopters circling overhead.Aboard are hundreds of people — veterans, active-duty personnel, and their family members.As the warship sailed the harbor, a 21-gun salute — blanks fired from two of the many heavy cannons — rang out, filling the lower deck with smoke that reeked of something like sulfur, an element of gunpowder.
