Thomas Massie of&#xa0; <a href="https://massie.house.gov/about">Kentucky's 4th Congressional District</a> has taken to Twitter in an extraordinary defence of the students from Kentucky's Covington Catholic High School, who were filmed on Friday<span>&#xa0;</span><a href="https://www.thisisinsider.com/video-native-american-protestors-mocked-by-catholic-high-school-group-2019-1">surrounding and chanting</a> at a <a href="https://massie.house.gov/about">Native American activist Nathan Phillips</a> in Washington DC.</p><p>In what has quickly become an iconic image of a modern America divided,&#xa0; a teenager wearing a "Make America Great Again" stares smiling inches from the face of Phillips as the Vietnam veteran beats a drum and sings the "American Indian Movement" song.&#xa0;</p><p>The images have been shared worldwide and sparked intense debate, fury and abuse as social media users, politicians, commentators and punters offer their interpretation of the scene.</p><p>Few comments have been as systematically and staunchly supportive of the teenagers as those made Sunday night by the conservative lawmaker from Kentucky.<span></span></p><p>Massie tweeted that following his initial discomfort at seeing the video, he chose to hang back, weigh up the facts <span>before offering his thoughts: "because the narrative did not match what I know to be the character of these students.</span>"</p><p><span>Massie represents Kentucky's 4th Congressional District which stretches across Northern Kentucky and 280 miles of the Ohio River, including Covington.</span></p><p>The boys, quickly identified as Covington Catholic High School students had traveled from Kentucky to attend the March for Life, an<span>&#xa0;</span><a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/18/us/politics/march-for-life-dc.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">annual anti-abortion demonstration</a> at the capitol.</p><h3>March for Life is something of a Covington tradition</h3><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>Wearing "Make America Great Again" the boys are recorded from several angles surrounding a small group of protestors in front of the Lincoln memorial.</p><p>In several videos posted to social media, a grinning boy stands face-to-face with a protestors as the large group shrieks, jeers, and claps along with the protestors' drum.</p><p><a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6612791/Catholic-student-MAGA-hat-wearing-crowd-claims-vet-bullied-THEM.html">The UK Daily Mail</a> also reports that a Covington student has since claimed that Phillips, with a history of racial vilification claims, forced his way into their "cheer circle" as a publicity stunt.</p><p><span>On Sunday, Massie describes the "honorable and tolerant" students as the victims.</span></p><p><span>"The honorable and tolerant students of <a href="https://www.covcath.org/">Covington Catholic School</a> came to DC to advocate for the unborn and to learn about our nation's Capitol," he wrote. "What they got was a brutal lesson in the unjust court of public opinion and social media mobs."</span><span></span></p><p><span>"I've now watched over an hour of other videos from 4 different cameras of the incident in front of the Lincoln Memorial. I urge everyone to watch the other videos before passing judgement." </span></p><p><span>"Would you have remained that composed at that age under those circumstances?" Massie rhetorically asks, without detailing the sources of the brutality.</span><span></span></p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/UQyBHTTqb38?t=4244">Separate video of the incident</a><span>&#xa0;</span>showed a small group of black protesters arguing with some of the crowd members before Phillips intervenes.</p><p><span>"In the face of racist and homosexual slurs, the young boys refused to reciprocate or disrespect anyone. Even when taunted by homophobic bigots, which was obviously bewildering to them, they insulted no one."</span><span></span></p><p><span>Massie concludes by accusing the media of removing the context "of everything that was going on."</span><span></span></p><h3>"Proud, not ashamed."</h3><p><span><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></span></p><p><em><a href="https://www.thisisinsider.com/video-native-american-protestors-mocked-by-catholic-high-school-group-2019-1" data-e2e-name="see-also-link"><strong>Read More:</strong> Video shows teenagers in 'MAGA' hats mocking and harassing Native American protestors at Indigenous Peoples March</a></em></p><p><span>Despite the&#xa0; widespread and often visceral condemnation of the incident, Massie encourages the responsible parents and mentors of the boys -&#xa0; curiously absent during the incident - to be appreciative and gratified by their charges and their behavior.</span></p><p><span>"Parents and mentors of these boys should be proud, not ashamed, of their kids' behavior. It is my honor to represent them."</span></p><header>By contrast, the school, in a statement condemned the actions of its students "towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general."</header><header></header><header></header><header>"We extend our deepest apologies to Mr. Phillips. This behavior is opposed to the Church's teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person. <span style="color: #222222;">The matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion," the school added in a statement on its website.</span></header><header><p><a href="https://www.thisisinsider.com/native-american-activist-incident-2019-1">INSIDER </a>reports that a mother of one of the kids who wrote to Heavy.com said that the boys were provoked by a group of men who had been protesting before the Native American group arrived.</p><p>"Did you hear the names of the people were calling these boys? It was shameful. Did you witness the black Muslims yelling profanities and video taping to get something to further your narrative of hatred??" the woman wrote, according to Heavy.com.</p><p>The protesters<span>&#xa0;</span><a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/catholic-school-investigate-taunting-native-americans-n960626">have been identified</a><span>&#xa0;</span>as members of a group known as Black Hebrew Israelites, which is unrelated to Islam.</p></header><p>Last week in an interview with Fox Business Channel, Massie defended US Rep. Kentucky congressman says its an 'honor to represent' Lincoln Memorial confrontation kids and that their parents should be 'proud' of their viral behavior

Fortune magazine released its annual “40 Under 40” list in October and four of the coveted spots went to YPO members, each working in fields divergent in purpose, but ultimately similar in mission.<br />

Nate Morris, 33, made the coveted list with his first foray into business,Rubicon Global, a waste management company that brings an Uber-like approach to garbage by matching multinational clients with local haulers.<br />
 <br />
“My background is in policy, I had never started a company or worked in the private sector before,” says Morris, who joined the YPO Bluegrass Chapter in 2012. “I’m learning a lot as I go and YPO has been helping to educate me – it’s kind of been like grad school.”<br />
 <br />
Rubicon’s innovative model of democratizing waste management is augmented by its mission to help recycle more, while reducing costs.<br />
 <br />
“I believe the environmental movement can be led through the free market as opposed to more regulation and more government, says Morris. “I think waste is a gateway issue into a larger discussion of how we can help the planet.”<br />
 <br />
So was it moxy, faith or a combination thereof that allowed him to max out his credit cards in order to launch?<br />
 <br />
“We’ve never been shy about being bold and going out on a limb. We were big dreamers in the beginning.” Morris laughs, “It’s kind of good to paint yourself in a corner. It’s gotta work!”<br />

For Julie Smolyansky, 39, president and CEO of Lifeway Foods, making the list was a big surprise.<br />
 <br />
“I’ve been aware of the list since I was in my twenties but had given up thinking I was going to make it,” she says. She joined the YPO Chicago Chapter in 2003. “You do your work every day but when you wake up and someone says, ‘Hey we want to recognize you for your work,’ that’s really an honor.”<br />
 <br />
The honor has given Smolyansky a sort-of “reset of her career,” compelling her to consider how to push herself even further.<br />
 <br />
“It made me think, ‘what else can I do, where can I scale my career and really have lasting impact? What does it mean for me that I have this platform that can help me realize the things I really care about?’”<br />
 <br />
Aware of the age-old struggle women endure, thinking they can’t be a good mother if they’re working or vice versa Smolyansky says, “As a leader, one of the best things I can do is to show that a young woman, a non-traditional leader, can run a company and have a family. I believe that will help other women feel the same way. If we can create female titans, the world will be a better place.”<br />

It comes as no surprise that  Michael Patterson, 39, likes spy novels. While in the U.S. Navy, Patterson helped plan the military’s first drone-enabled strikes back when drones themselves couldn’t carry missiles. He left the Navy shortly before 11 September 2001, but returned to the military briefly to assist in retargeting the drones after the attacks on the World Trade Center.<br />

Although India’s share of the global luxury market is a paltry 1-2%, luxury retails – both national and international – are in a hurry to set up shops in the country. And the main reason that the industry experts attribute to this positive growth is the fact that Indians are more ‘brand aware’ now, owing to their foreign jaunts. Well-travelled consumers and a stable <keyword id="34412" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="economy">economy</keyword>, coupled with a young population with growing disposable incomes, spell ‘good news’ for luxury brands across the world.<br />

The current and upcoming shopping malls across the country must be another key driver behind the luxury market growth in India. They have provided a truly conducive atmosphere for shopping, bringing in a lot more footfalls and ensuring a lot more exposure to luxury brands. Earlier, when the luxury brands operated in star hotels, the customer base was restricted owing to several factors. But today, Indian shopping malls have gained character and a retailer can clearly pick and choose which mall would be ideal to set up shop, depending on the mall topography other co-existence factors. More luxury brands in one mall are bound to attract an exclusive crowd with a taste for luxury items.<br />

A study by ASSOCHAM and YES Bank has laid out some facts that sound extremely encouraging for the Indian luxury market, which has attracted scores of global players. In spite of the economic slowdown, the Indian luxury market is pitted to grow at 25% till 2015 and is expected to touch $15 billion. Last year, India was an $8.5 billion market for global luxury brands. The bullish outlook is anticipated to continue unscathed in the luxury sector spanning products such as apparels, home décor, pens, watches, jewellery, wines &amp; spirits, spas and even yachts – a heady mix of both lifestyle and individuality-defining products.<br />

Cars and electronics are among the most attractive segments across the Indian market. The Benzs, BMWs, Rolls Royces, Audis, Jaguars are not rare sights in metros.<br />

The key growth driver is the upper middle-class who has banked on the new education system for the high net worth jobs of the future and subsequently, has cashed in on the current growth. A relevant analysis will reveal that their aspiration to climb the ‘consumer ladder’ is owing to the fact that they are, in fact, driving India’s growth.<br />

They are a small segment but then, luxury brands are not exactly looking at taking the country by storm. Although India comes next only to China when it comes to its appetite for luxury brands, the kind of growth it has triggered is quite interesting. About 150,000 high net worth individuals, with a net worth of $600 billion-$3.1 million and with earnings more than Rs 10 lakh per household, have been fuelling this unprecedented growth across the top 10 cities in India.<br />
 <br /> What can trigger further growth for India and be mutually beneficial is the reduction of import duties (currently 20-150%) and introduction of easy <keyword id="44528" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="FDI">FDI</keyword> policies. This can easily spell further boom for the country’s economy.<br />
