<ul class="summary-list"><li>Shireen Nagdive worked as a software engineer in India when she applied for a master's in the US.</li><li>She told Business Insider it was a big risk taking out a $59,000 loan for her studies.</li></ul>This as-told-to essay is based on a transcribed conversation with 29-year-old Shireen Nagdive from Kalyan, India, about her experience moving to the US and working for Salesforce. The following has been edited for length and clarity.I grew up in a very small town in India called Kalyan, near Mumbai. I've been interested in computers since I was a child and wanted to pursue a career in <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/computer-science-job-market-was-tougher-than-i-expected-2023-12">computer science</a> since the eighth grade.I did my bachelor's degree in computer science at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology in <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/indians-leaving-big-tech-to-launch-startups-back-home-2024-9">India</a> from 2012 to 2016. In the last year of my course, I got an offer as a software engineer for a multinational company in India.I'm the first woman in my family to graduate from college and work for a big corporation.<h2 id="a8a22fef-ba92-45d4-8510-b66557966d2f">I applied for a master's in the US</h2>I moved in with some roommates from work. They were all sitting the graduate record examination, which can help with admissions to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/graduate-school-masters-mba-college-regret-2024-7">business schools in the US</a>.I'd never heard of it. No one close to me had pursued a career outside our hometown, let alone in the US.At 23, I knew I wanted to spend my whole career in tech, and it seemed like a good time to study for a couple of years in the US. I wanted to deepen my understanding of computer science and work on more complex projects. I decided to do the exam and see what happened. Every day after my 9-to-5, I'd study for the exam.I sat the exam and got decent marks, so I applied for several master's degrees in computer science in the US in 2017. I had a rough idea of how expensive they were, but I didn't know how I'd pay for them. I got into the computer science master's program at Stony Brook College in New York to start in 2018.<h2 id="e52405e2-72cb-4d22-aabd-529d38764bc3">I took a big risk taking out a loan</h2>I'd funded my examination and college application fees through my job, but I had no idea how I would finance a master's degree in America.The course fees were $59,000. That is a lot of money, which my family didn't have.I'd have to take on a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/professor-student-loan-debt-suddenly-forgiven-2024-8">lot of debt</a>. One option was to take out a collateral loan on our family home. The bank would be able to take the property as collateral if I didn't make my payments. My dad and I discussed this, but we didn't want our only house to be an asset on the loan.I decided to take out a non-collateral loan to cover the fee cost, which has a higher interest rate.Relatives asked me why I was taking on so much debt for my education instead of buying a house in India, building my own company, or making an investment. My dad, who had paid for my bachelor's degree, was worried, but my mom encouraged him to trust me.I questioned whether it was worth it, but I wanted to invest in myself. I thought: "If I don't take this risk now, I will regret it for the rest of my life."To counteract my doubts, I developed a calculated risk framework. What would be the worst thing that could happen, and how I would resolve it?The worst-case scenario was that I didn't get a job in the US, and it would take me a lot longer to repay my debt, including more interest. My solution was to return to India, where I knew I could get work. It might take me a decade to repay my debt, but at least I'd have no regrets.<h2 id="2e018fd4-9e86-4790-b36d-30a1edca9c44">I focused on what I could control</h2>I'd never been to the US before, but my debts scared me more than moving to a new country. Stony Brook is in New York. I visualized skyscrapers like in movies, but the college was actually in Long Island. My room was cramped. I initially wondered why I had come, but I made friends and adjusted to the city.Two weeks after I started, my friend and I wanted to try out salsa classes. That day, I heard from my roommates that someone on the course had already landed an internship with Microsoft. I hadn't even started preparing to apply to internships. I ditched the salsa and told myself I'd focus solely on my applications to tech jobs and interview preparation.Landing an internship could help my résumé and could be converted into a full-time offer. I worked day and night at college and gave my 100%. Working so hard on application alongside my course and assignments was pretty stressful. All the computer science students worked and lived on the same campus – it felt competitive, but also motivating.I was often homesick and called my parents daily. I liked hearing about what they had for lunch and dinner, just the basic things.<h2 id="af48b5f8-1d58-4940-a393-2a3efa2f747a">I landed a job with Salesforce</h2>I got an internship with <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/salesforce-ping-pong-work-flexible-2024-7">Salesforce</a> in the summer of 2019 while doing my master's. It was in Washington state. I got to work on a project. I realized it was a great place for engineering and innovation and I really liked the culture. It helped me figure out I wanted to work on the backend side of things, on large scale systems.My manager was a great mentor and when I finished the project, I was offered a full-time role on the technical team that aligned with my interests. It was based in the Bay Area.I felt so relieved, and happy that my hard work had finally paid off. Not only could I repay my debt, but I could contribute to a great tech product at Salesforce.<h2 id="8a98083b-2e92-4cf4-85d8-b5f826c379d4">I moved to Silicon Valley</h2>I moved to the Bay Area in February 2020. I realized how much <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/san-francisco-new-york-london-tech-where-to-live-2024-8">tech innovation is happening in the area</a> and how many opportunities there were to build relationships with people in the industry. But I was <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/moved-to-us-from-india-big-tech-changed-me-2024-7">homesick</a> because I couldn't travel home to India during the pandemic.I managed to pay back my loan in 2020.I've been here for four years, with Salesforce sponsoring my visa. I'm enjoying life in the US and haven't got plans to return to India. I'll figure that out in a couple of years.I'm so grateful I get to work with smart engineers on my team on a daily basis. I've seen an improvement in my problem-solving and communication skills in engineering.Last year, I was able to bring my parents to the US for a holiday. It was a dream for me to show them around all the beautiful places in California. I've grown so much over the last few years both as a software engineer and as a person. Starting from scratch in a new country makes you tough. By the end of 2023, there are expected to be as many as 18.5 million of such jobs across industries and this will almost double by 2047, says Teamlease. Here is the catch – while universities and colleges are catching up, it’s not as fast as the demand growth. The growth in green job postings is around 15% in the last one year, says LinkedIn. Naukri pegs it as high as 27% with the EV sector being the star. “According to the Global Green Skills Report 2023 by LinkedIn, India has seen a 140% jump in auto industry workers with Electric Vehicle(EV) skills from 2018-23. This is the highest growth rate globally,” said Hari Krishnan Nair, Co-founder, Great Learning. Jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs Green jobs are expected to almost double by 2047, i.e. touch 35 million. Apart from electrification of vehicles, greening the entire supply chain through green procurement, electrification of fleets, reduction of waste, packaging and optimization of inventory — is also expected to produce more jobs. “The jobs are at all levels — from entry, mid and senior level. While entry level jobs are on creating and implementing <keyword id="95422" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Green-Technology" source="Orion">green technology</keyword> and supporting consulting practices and R&amp;D. The mid and senior levels are mostly around R&amp;D, supervisory and project ownership roles and more strategic in nature,” said Sumit Kumar, chief business officer, TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship. Green job roles are being created around sustainability, environmental, social and governance (ESG). “Governance specialists, renewable energy experts, being hired across sectors where there is an immense focus on sustainability and ESG,” said Parag Ghatpande, director - assessment solutions at Aon India. <table style="border-width: initial; Krishnan says that the rapid industrial expansion outpaces curriculum updates in colleges, resulting in a shortage of skilled talent. Most of the expertise that’s needed to drive India’s green transformation requires strong foundational STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills. “Currently, the key qualifications needed for such (green) roles would be an engineering degree with 5-10 years’ experience within the sustainability sector and experience of sustainability certification schemes,” says Ghatpande. In fact, most of the jobs require engineering degrees — both standalone or specialised to environment science. “The common degrees are Environmental Science or Engineering for roles in environmental conservation and management. Renewable Energy Engineering or Sustainable Energy Studies for careers in the renewable energy sector. Agricultural Science or Sustainable Agriculture for those interested in sustainable farming practices,” says Jaideep P Kewalramani, head of employability business and COO, TeamLease EdTech. Green certifications in vogue On top of the basic degrees, there are certifications as well. Green Building Certifications such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for sustainable construction and architecture. Certifications in Environmental Management like ISO 14001, for professionals focusing on sustainability within organisations. For now, organisations which quickly need a lot of employees with green skills are developing talent by upskilling and reskilling the existing workforce on green technologies. “Also there is an active collaboration with academia in curating programs to create talent pipelines,” says Kumar. Added to that several online learning platforms offer tailored certificate courses and modules to help professionals kickstart their careers in the EV industry. “These courses often feature industry-relevant curricula, real-world projects, live mentorship by experts, and expert-led masterclasses,” says Krishnan. India is steadfast in its commitment to go green. As such jobs explode, it’s up to the professionals and young aspirants to build their green skills to move towards a sustainable career ahead. India’s green jobs are growing but are colleges ready to supply the talent?

Domestic firms will <keyword id="6356112" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="lease" source="Orion">lease</keyword> an estimated 60-65 million square feet of <keyword id="181150" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="office-space" source="Orion">office space</keyword> between 2024 and 2025, according to <keyword id="20060150" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbre" source="keywords">CBRE</keyword> South Asia's report, '<keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="keywords">India</keyword> Inc's Ascension - The Rise of Domestic Firms as an Office Demand Driver'. Domestic companies have been responsible for nearly 47 per cent of office leasing activity from 2022 to H1 2024, marking a departure from the traditional dominance of global corporations, particularly American firms. During 2022-2023, domestic firms experienced a 60 per cent surge in office space absorption compared to the pre-pandemic period of 2018-2019. Key occupier groups have secured significant spaces in prime locations across major cities, with <keyword id="19913115" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-ncr" source="keywords">Delhi-NCR</keyword> leading, followed by <keyword id="6354321" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bengaluru" source="Orion">Bengaluru</keyword> and Mumbai. E-commerce and life sciences companies have driven occupancy in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, respectively, while Mumbai has captured a substantial 43 per cent share of domestic <keyword id="19910880" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bfsi" source="keywords">BFSI</keyword> leasing, with strong contributions from Delhi-NCR and Chennai. The report attributes the robust growth of India's office market to several factors, including government initiatives like Make in India and the <keyword id="19952889" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="production-linked-incentive" source="keywords">Production Linked Incentive</keyword> (PLI) Scheme. These programs, along with increased domestic manufacturing, employment generation, and a well-capitalized banking sector, have created a supportive environment for business expansion. Other contributing factors include low corporate leverage ratios and improved access to capital, which have enhanced the investment capacity of Indian companies. India's talent pool, with approximately 2.5 million STEM graduates and a thriving start-up ecosystem featuring over 100 unicorns, has also been a major driver of growth. With over 38 sector skill councils, the government's focus on bridging the skill gap is preparing domestic firms for future demands, further bolstering the office leasing sector. Flexible space operators, technology, and BFSI sectors have emerged as the primary drivers of office leasing, collectively accounting for two-thirds of all domestic activity. The RCA sector, which includes legal, taxation, HR, and media services, is also playing a significant role in boosting domestic leasing. Additionally, Indian engineering and manufacturing firms, which currently represent 7-8 per cent of domestic office leasing, are expected to expand into <keyword id="20270212" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tier-ii" source="keywords">Tier-II</keyword> and Tier-III cities, which are emerging as manufacturing hubs. Anshuman Magazine, Chairman and CEO, India, Southeast Asia, Middle East &amp; Africa, CBRE, said, "India's rapidly expanding start-up ecosystem and talent abundance are major drivers of this demand. As India's major urban centers continue to grow and diversify, the demand for premium office spaces will shape the future of the commercial real estate market, setting new standards for innovation and excellence. He added, "India's top nine cities are poised to see an impressive addition of ~185 million sq. ft. of premium office space by 2026. This dramatic increase in office space is a testament to several key factors driving the transformation of the commercial real estate landscape". Ram Chandnani, Managing Director, Advisory and Transaction Services, CBRE India, said, "Advances in technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), are poised to further transform the office sector. While AI may cause job displacement in some areas, it will also create new opportunities and necessitate comprehensive workforce reskilling. The surge in workforce needs, driven by digitalization, evolving workplace strategies, and enhanced business confidence, has substantially boosted leasing activity."

Domestic firms to lease 60-65 million sq ft office space by 2025: CBRE report

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Marco Ilagan, 42, and Fran Cassaniti, 30, left their jobs at Accenture to travel in 2018. </li><li>The couple live in other people's homes for free in return for looking after their pets. </li></ul>Travel enthusiasts Fran Cassaniti from Buenos Aires, Argentina and Marco Ilagan from Chicago, Illinois were in a long-distance relationship. And while most people in long-distance relationships hop on FaceTime calls, Cassaniti and Ilagan had date nights in all parts of the world. They met in India, Thailand, or Brazil to spend time with each other.When the couple first met in 2016, they both wanted to travel the world. So after a year of dating and another year of planning and saving, they quit their corporate jobs, let go of their rented apartments, and in January 2018 started traveling together.<div type="image" title="Fran Cassaniti and Marco Ilagan" height="1151" width="2048" msid="102348336" hostid="261"></div>The couple started their journey by flying to Ilagan's home country of the Philippines, before they traveled to Hawaii six months later.However, they realized that moving hotels or hostels every five days wasn't working for them because they wanted to run a life-coaching business while living on the road. "We were looking for a way that we could continue traveling, but have more stability and save money on accommodation," said Cassaniti. <h2>They looked after pets and explored house-sitting</h2>At the same time they'd started following a digital nomad couple on Instagram who had been house-sitting for two years, so they also decided to give it a go. Ilagan and Cassaniti set up an account on TrustedHousesitters.com and within 15 days they were accepted for a house sit in Anchorage, Alaska.The couple needed to look after a dog and a cockatiel called Tweetie who would fly free around the house. While they were nervous about their first house sit, both the owners and the pets made it easy for them. The owners left a car, two mountain bikes, and hiking gear for the couple so they could enjoy the Alaskan scenery. "When we were having breakfast, Tweetie would sit at his breakfast station and wait for his peanut butter with cookies," said Cassaniti. Once they tried house-sitting, they never looked back. They've stayed in a retreat in Utah with two Alaskan malamutes that overlooked a famous mountain range. In the evenings, the couple could sit in the outdoor Jacuzzi and watch the sunset over the mountains or watch 'Game of Thrones' in the cinema room.They also spent four months looking after two relaxed German Shepherds in a beach retreat in Grenada, as the retired owners would go sailing during the winter months. "It was like our dream house," said Ilagan. "From the terrace we would watch the sun go down over the ocean and we didn't buy mangos or avocados for months as the garden was filled with fruit trees."<h2>Cassaniti and Ilagan plan around their travel and business goals</h2>The only time they faced any difficulty living for free was when the pandemic hit and they lost a month's worth of bookings in March 2020.But after staying with friends in Chicago, they found a house-sitting gig on a golf community in Florida. The locals would travel everywhere by golf cart, whether that was to go to the golf course or grocery shopping.This treated the couple to one of their highlights during the pandemic as the neighbors would organize drive-in concerts. "Each of the neighbors could play the guitar or knew how to sing, so they'd set up concerts in their garage and everyone would be sat socially distanced in their golf carts enjoying the concerts with snacks and beer. It was really fun," said Cassaniti.<div type="image" title="Fran Cassaniti and Marco Ilagan" height="720" width="960" msid="102348571" hostid="261"></div>They house sat in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Greece, then England, Scotland and Ireland, but none of these choices are ad hoc — they fit into clear goals.Their longest house-sitting gig was four months in Grenada, but they usually move homes once a month. "Every year we set our personal, travel and business goals," said Ilagan. "We then break it down to smaller goals so we know where to go this quarter and weekly goals so every day we are aligned."In 2022, they focused on Europe and in 2023 they will travel through central America.The couple have created a daily routine in place of their 9 to 5 jobs. In the morning, they work out, meditate, practice yoga, and journal. Then they walk the pets and start their coaching calls for their site "Map The Unknown," where they help people get the life they want with courses that they sell for $199. Because they often change time zones, they use the free online app Calendly so people can see when they are available.<h2>They'll turn down gigs if surveillance cameras aren't turned off</h2>The only times they have turned house-sitting gigs down was when a potential host said they didn't want to turn off the security cameras inside their house because they wanted to watch their pets and another who kept rescheduling their online interview. "You need to coordinate lots of things with the host so for us the relationship with the host is important," said Cassaniti. The only challenge they've had with a pet was when a 14-year-old golden retriever they were looking after for a family experienced a seizure. The couple rushed the dog to the vet and were relieved when the vet managed to get the dog back on his feet. However, the scary moment prepared them for future emergencies. "We now ask for the vet's emergency number because we learned it's a different one," said Ilagan.<div type="image" title="Fran Cassaniti and Marco Ilagan" height="2274" width="3024" msid="102348576" hostid="261"></div><h2>The couple uses credit card points to pay for flights</h2>But it's not just the housing that the couple don't pay for, they don't pay for their flights either. In 2014, Ilagan found a blog that said you can get free flights if you apply for a credit card. So Ilagan now uses points and miles from his credit cards to pay for flights.He takes out two to three credit cards each year, which he tracks on a spreadsheet. "I pay my bill off every month like it's a debit card and I use it as a tool to travel," said Ilagan. And, if the credit card companies start charging annual fees, he will cancel the card.He hasn't paid for flights in five years. In 2022, they flew between Mexico, the US, Italy, Greece, Slovenia, the UK, back to the US and then Argentina for free. But Ilagan warns that you need to be diligent about paying off the card and looking for fees as that is when you lose any benefits. You also need to make sure you don't take out too many credit cards because you can look credit hungry to the credit card companies and this lowers your credit score. To help reduce their travel fees, they also bought an RV which sits in storage in Texas when they want to travel farther away. They drove the RV when they traveled to Mexico in December 2021 and got engaged, and again in April 2022, when they got married on a sandbar in Belize. They are currently driving it in Costa Rica, where they will spend the next four months looking after two dogs and ticking off those goals they created.

Business Insider has verified his employment history.I always knew I wanted to build something of my own.I came up with my first idea in my second year of college, when I was studying overseas at the University of Pennsylvania. During a trip back home to India, I built a version of a learning management system and reached out to schools to try to get them to adopt it.It didn't work out, but I learned an important lesson about myself. I realized that I loved how <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/why-everyone-in-tech-talking-founder-mode-paul-graham-chesky-2024-9">founders end up wearing so many hats</a>. So I started preparing to be a founder and collecting experiences that would help down the line.Even early on, I was sure I wanted to work on building consumer products. When it was time to look for jobs, I only <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/resume-tips-google-software-engineer-skills-experience-careers-software-tech-2024-3">applied to Meta and Google</a>, companies well known for developing products for the masses.I <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-write-big-tech-resume-google-meta-product-manager-2024-6">interned with Meta</a> and landed a full time role at the company after graduating in 2018. The offer was a huge deal for me, and I remember calling my parents back home to share the news right away.My family knew my long-term goal was to work for myself, and they worried that the years would pass and I would never leave Big Tech and its comforts.At Meta, I was careful to select projects that would enable me to become a jack of all trades. I was taking on projects where I could work across several different domains instead of specializing in computer vision or machine learning, for example. I earned a reputation for being an engineer that could get things out the door — whether it was by learning the technology myself or by putting together other engineers for the project.<h2 id="5a48931f-43ad-49e7-9b5a-c1c1087c0cbc">Step 2: Quit Meta to see how startups work</h2>After four years at Meta, I understood that big companies have a way of pigeonholing employees into one role, and I felt like my learning had stagnated.I quit Meta in 2022 and moved to the ticketing platform StubHub, a smaller company. I had an engineering role there, too, but I was also tasked with cross-functional roles like product management and data analysis. I learned how startups had to iterate quickly and work with limited resources. It gave me my first experience leading a team, which I really enjoyed.Besides gaining technical skills, I was also saving so that I could eventually bootstrap my own company. After work, I took online courses to learn accounting and finance and spent time with my brothers, who have experience in management and venture capital.<h2 id="4fb93422-62bd-4fb5-8c57-a5dc6210ae62">Step 3: Moving to India</h2>Living in the US, launching a startup in Silicon Valley felt like an obvious choice, but I was more <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/india-vc-wants-see-5-traits-new-founders-fundraising-antler-2024-8">excited about business prospects back home in India</a>. Internet adoption had skyrocketed since I left in 2014; the population size made it a hotbed for a consumer tech product; and government initiatives like an instant payments system and acceptance toward greater tech adoption made doing business a lot easier. I knew that if I were to set up my own business, it would be for the Indian market.I finally made the call to move home last year after my fiancée proposed to me. We knew we wanted to settle down in India, and our wedding next year became a deadline to get the ball rolling. Langer drops plan to coach India after KL cautions him of "pressure and politics"

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Hemant Pandey shared the résumé format that has helped him land several software-engineering jobs.</li><li>He keeps job descriptions short and includes points that make for good interview stories.</li></ul>Hemant Pandey's software-engineering career was off to a good start.After an internship at Amazon during his graduate program, he landed a full-time software role at Tesla in 2018. The pay was "top notch" and it was a dream company.Pandey, who grew up in India, even invited his family to visit him in California that summer.Two weeks after they visited, he was laid off."It was my first job and getting laid off meant having to build rapport all over again in just six months," he told Business Insider. "I needed to prove myself again."He <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/poached-then-laid-off-sharing-updates-linkedin-unemployment-networking-2024-4">didn't feel comfortable</a> telling people he was let go and worried companies might see him as a bad performer and reject him before interviews.But he was proactive about looking for new opportunities and landed a job at SAP within a month.After a year, Pandey switched to Salesforce, where he stayed for two years. In 2021, he applied to Meta after learning about the company's "crazy" pay packages on tech forums.Here is the résumé format that Pandey has used since college. It got him a $500,000 senior software-engineer role at Meta and offers from TikTok and LinkedIn. In an interview, "if people ask me what I did at Salesforce, I can help them know more by explaining rather than writing a paragraph." He uses one to three bullet points for each role.Including GPA: While his master's GPA is not very "impressive," Pandey chooses to include it and sees it as an opportunity to share a story during an interview. "I generally share how I bombed my first semester and was intimidated," he said about getting a low GPA and almost losing an internship he was offered. He talks about how he had to push himself to keep up with more experienced students and eventually scored better in the following semesters. "This makes a good growth and learning-from-failures story."Ability to do basics: As engineers move to more senior roles, Pandey says the job becomes less about coding and more focused on leading teams and delivering projects. "But if I still interview for a startup, they don't really care about how I'm leading or shipping products," he said. "They care about if I can write code, if I'm tech savvy enough." To showcase his technical skills, Pandey lists projects and links to his past coding work.There's only one change he would make to his résumé if he were to revamp it today:Personal brand projects: "Your personal brand is now more and more important," Pandey said. "I write actively on LinkedIn and have a newsletter with around 4,000 subscribers," which he would list on his résumé's projects section. He would also include that he mentors students. Those additions "will start to matter more than just my tech skills and certificates."Pandey is part of a growing group of workers and business owners who embrace personal branding as a way to boost their careers.Quynh Mai, the founder of a digital creative agency, decided to embrace personal branding nearly 10 years after she began her business. The online talent platform said that the funds will be utilised towards enhanced investments on product development and marketing in India, SEA and Middle-East markets. Post the funding, Monster.com is now valued at $100 million. "The last year has been incredible for the company, achieving very healthy growth across all metrics. We have an exciting product and business road map in line with our view on how hiring will evolve in the next few years," said Sekhar Garisa, CEO, Monster.com, APAC &amp; ME. In 2018, Quess Corp acquired Monster.com's businesses in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, the UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Located at Minsk Square which is the key location in the city, the new office will house up to 1,200 employees. It comprises of 15 floors and features dedicated lab space, areas for collaboration and wellness, and <keyword id="20221613" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="caffe-macs" source="keywords">Caffe Macs</keyword>. "Bengaluru is already home to so many of our talented teams, including software engineering and hardware technologies, operations, customer support, and more," an Apple spokesperson told IANS. Apple opens new office in India, to house up to 1,200 employees

Yet, around 70% of youth lack awareness about the much-publicised skill development programme run by the government to boost employment, a major study has revealed. According to the study, ‘<a href="https://www.orfonline.org/research/young-india-and-work-a-survey-of-youth-aspirations-45455/">Young India and work</a>’ by the Observer Research Foundation and <keyword id="69007" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="World-Economic-Forum">World Economic Forum</keyword>, 1.3 million people are added to India’s working population monthly. Even with fewer jobs, only one fourth of the youth have enrolled themselves in the skill development programme. Time constraints and financial problems were among the major reasons cited by a third of the respondents, said the study. The findings not only highlighted the gap between a government scheme and youth awareness but also pointed out the mismatch of youth aspirations and industry demands. The preferences of youth and companies recruiting for jobs also vary. While young people are flexible about mobility but companies are focusing more on hiring locally. Additionally, only 14% of companies use the Internet for hiring whereas three-quarters of the youth are dependent on Internet for any kind of employment information. Enterprises in customer services, sales, information technology support, accounting and auditing may witness growth in their hiring process but young people are attracted towards sectors which is expected less growth in coming five years. And even though more women professionals are preferred in the field of education, training, research and health, almost three-quarters of females from age 26 to 30 were not employed. Half of the youth were more inclined towards government jobs than private sector jobs, which added to the surging unemployment rate. Talking about a possible solution, 60% of the surveyed respondents said that government action and economic policies could resolve the issue. As the youngest nation, India will need inclusive growth since strategies cannot be implemented in isolation, suggested the study.
