New Delhi [India], March 1 (ANI): Oil marketing companies have announced a significant increase in the prices of commercial Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) gas cylinders, effective from March 1. Sources reveal that the rate of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders has been raised by Rs 25.50, impacting consumers across various metro cities. The revision in prices comes amid ongoing fluctuations in fuel costs and market dynamics. According to the latest updates, the retail sales price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will stand at Rs 1795 from March 1 onwards. This adjustment reflects the evolving landscape of fuel pricing and its implications for consumers. Comparing the revised prices with previous rates offers insights into the extent of the increase. In metro cities like <keyword id="19896626" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kolkata" source="keywords">Kolkata</keyword>, <keyword id="19895282" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mumbai" source="keywords">Mumbai</keyword>, and <keyword id="19895758" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="chennai" source="keywords">Chennai</keyword>, the prices of 19 kg <keyword id="20787104" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="indane" source="keywords">Indane</keyword> gas cylinders have also been revised upwards. Previous prices of 19 kg Indane gas cylinders on January 1 and February 1, highlight the upward trajectory of fuel costs. On February 1, the prices of Indane gas cylinders varied across metro cities, with Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai each having distinct rates. These prices served as the baseline for consumers at the beginning of the month. In Delhi, the price surged by 1.44 per cent (Rs 25.5), reaching a new rate of Rs 1795. Similarly, Kolkata experienced an increase of 1.27 per cent (Rs 24), resulting in a revised price of Rs 1911. Mumbai saw a rise of 1.48 per cent (Rs 25.5), bringing the price up to Rs 1749, while Chennai witnessed an increase of 1.21 per cent (Rs 23.5), setting the new rate at Rs 1960.50. Now another cylinder is almost nearing end, and the gas agency told me that I need to pay by cash," Noida resident homemaker <keyword id="1702779" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shilpa-Aggarwal">Shilpa Aggarwal</keyword>. 
 
People subscribed to these companies for gas connection are relying on cash. 
 
When contacted on Twitter, Indian Oil, the company that runs India’s largest domestic LPG service Indane confirmed that they are yet to come up with any digital transaction facility for its customers. While they assured that something would soon be done, they couldn’t come up with an estimated time period by when customers can pay by card or digital wallets officially.

New Delhi, Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal on Friday said India is ready to trade in Indan Rupee with countries which are facing currency failure or have dollar shortage. Speaking after the unveiling of Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023 which seeks to increase India's exports to USD 2 trillion by 2030, the secretary also said the government is focusing on strengthening the rupee payment system. Changes have been made in the FTP to allow international trade settlement in Indian Rupee with a view to making INR a global currency. Addressing the gathering, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal exuded confidence that the export target of USD 2 trillion by 2030 will be met. He stressed that any industry cannot succeed only on the basis of subsidy or crutches. In the coming days, the idea of exports will change in the country, Goyal said. FTP 2023 has been announced to provide policy continuity and a responsive framework, said Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Santosh Sarangi. The FTP has also introduced an amnesty scheme for one-time settlement of default in export obligation by Advance Authorisation and EPCG authorisation holders. All pending cases of the default in meeting export obligation (EO) of authorisations mentioned can be regularised by the authorisation holder on payment of all customs duties that were exempted in proportion to unfulfilled EO and interest at the rate of 100 per cent of such duties exempted. However, no interest is payable on the portion of Additional Customs Duty and Special Additional Customs Duty. Policy for export of dual use items under Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) has been consolidated at one place for ease of understanding and compliance by industry. SCOMET policy emphasises India's export control in line with its international commitments under various export control regimes (Wassenaar arrangement, Australia group and Missile Technology Control Regime) to control trade in sensitive/dual use items/technology.

Subscribers can update their mobile number even through the delivery executive, who can update it real time on the app and generate a code. OTP for delivery For transparent delivery and ensuring no stealing of cylinders, subscribers will receive a Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) via SMS and only after showing that will they be given the cylinder. Currently, oil companies will first start DAC in 100 smart cities.

These cities are Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mumbai, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai, Pimpri-Chinchwad, New Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Chennai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Patna, Varanasi, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Prayag Raj, Kanpur, Noida, Greater Noida, Visakhapatnam, Indore, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Ludhiana, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Ernakulam. Last month, Google Pay launched a 'Nearby Spot' to helps users see which stores, providing essential goods, are open in their vicinity. Merchant establishments can now indicate their business hours, whether social distancing measures are in place at the store and the essential goods presently in stock. Users across the country can also book their cooking gas cylinders from HP Gas, Bharat Petroleum or Indane, and pay digitally via the app. "All three service providers are now live for all users of Google Pay," the company said in a statement. The company has also launched a 'Coronavirus Spot' which provides users official safety guidelines from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and also links to a variety of charities accepting donations to support relief work.

Mumbai, Mar 29 () Indian Oil Corporation has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh if any of the personnel from its distributor team dies due to Covid-19 infection."As the threat of the Covid pandemic is applicable to all key personnel of distributors, it has been decided that, as a one-time special measure, in case of their death from Covid infection, an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh will be paid to the spouse of such personnel of the distributor," according to a circular from Sunil Mathur, the executive director in-charge of LPG distribution and marketing, to his counterparts in all the states.In case, the spouse is not there, then payment is to be made to the next kin of the deceased, the circular added.The circular dated March 28 also lists the LPG personnel at risk from the virus as show-room staff, godown-keepers, mechanics and delivery boys employed by the distributors.These personnel are also required to attend duty during this crisis period to maintain uninterrupted LPG cylinder supplies across the country to all Indane customers, says the circular, a copy of which is with .It further said all LPG heads are responsible to maintain a database of certified list of all the mentioned personnel at each distributorship on its rolls as of March 25."This is only a gesture of goodwill in recognition of the services rendered by the said personnel in this trying time to serve the customers and fellow citizens," it noted. Covid-19: IOC offers Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to LPG distributor staff in case of death

New Delhi, Mar 21 () As cities shutdown to contain the spread of coronavirus, Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has initiated a rare protocol to safeguard its workforce while at the same time ensuring that plants operate uninterruptedly so as to keep the nation's fuel supplies running. "We are in a business where we need to ensure not just consumers get uninterrupted supplies of petrol, diesel and cooking gas (LPG), but also airlines get jet fuel on demand and supply lines for nation's defence forces are unhindered," IOC Chairman Sanjiv Singh said. The company has implemented work from home at non-critical locations and implemented staggered work hours and working on alternate days at others with all precautions. Its consumer facing points such as petrol pumps and LPG delivery services have initiated safeguard protocol with face masks and sanitisers. "We have an obligation towards the nation to keep its supply lines running and we are doing everything while ensuring employee and consumer safety," he said adding rare times require extraordinary measures and Indian Oil and all its employees are rising to the occasion to serve the nation. Singh said to keep fuel supply lines running, oil refineries have to function, depots have to operate, pipelines need to flow and retail outlets need to dispense. "To keep our operations running, we have to ensure that crude oil is imported on regular basis, it is stored and then refined at refineries, fuel so produced is transported to depots from where it has to be moved to consumer dispensing points. These are 24x7 operations and so we have taken measures to ensure they run while at the same time employees are protected," he said. At petrol pumps and LPG distributorships, the company is trying to run operations with minimum number of employees while ensuring they dont take public transport, he said. In all this, the company has to also ensure that the switch over to ultra-clean BS-VI petrol and diesel, equivalent to Euro-VI emission compliant fuel, happens before April 1 deadline, he said. "The challenge before us is to protect employees and stakeholders (consumers). Challenge is that we cannot stop operations at any plant, location or retail outlet. The challenge is to maintain supplies at all times," he said. The protocol IOC has implemented involves restricting outsider entries to company plants and townships as well as avoiding non-essential gathering of people, he said adding board meetings are being conducted through video conferencing. "Indian Oil Tanking Ltd and Chennai Petroleum Corp Ltd (IOC subsidiaries) will hold forthcoming board meetings through video conferencing," he said. IOC also tweeted pictures of its employees and retail outlet operators in precautionary gears while doing refils. "The IndianOil aviation team working against the face of adversity, while taking the proper precautionary measures and following guidelines, to ensure uninterrupted supply of aviation fuel," it said in a tweet.
