Good Morning! US Futures are jumping higher, led by a 50bp pop in the Russell as the GOP picks up at least 7 (possibly 9) in the Senate; picks up at least 13 in the House (Largest GOP majority since Truman); and several statehouses (We have a Republican Gov in MD - 2nd time in 40 years). Obama will be speaking today - and according to reports will strike a tone of "compromise." Market impact from elections could be felt in: Pipelines and companies levered to getting Oil from Alberta, Oil / Natty shipping companies that may benefit from US exports, and US refiners that will suffer - Shelby could be positive for Fannie and Freddie, as well as Mortgage Insurers, but he is Anti-Fed - and Medical Device plays will look to repeal of the medical device tax.
Overseas, the DAX is adding 1.3% in very light volume, and US and German Yields despite worsening headlines from Russia/Ukraine. Russia moved a step closer to free floating their Ruble to "shake out" speculators - Ruble collapsed again - Russia Equities (RSX) holding a bid, however. Over in Asia, the Nikkei added 40bp to its recent 6% surge as BOJ's Kuroda reinforced his QE - While Hang Seng fell again, 3rd day in a row, and China lost 50bp as HSBC Services PMI came in at 4M lows. Aussie lost small, despite continued weakness in resource stocks. Kuroda's comments slammed the Yen, which rests at 114.75 against the Dollar - and weak German PMI hit the Euro under 1.25, spiking the DXY to 4Y+ peaks, a big headwind for commodities. That said, we are seeing stability in the Crude Complex, with US WTI unchanged despite the $ as Oil Export dreams accelerate, hitting Brent for 50bp. Natty gas is jumping another 2.8% (Exports + Cold + Crowded Short), while Precious metals are getting gappy lower - Silver off 4.5% and Gold 2.5% - Weaker Growth + Lower China Physical buying weighs. Grains &amp; Beans? They still hate 'em.
Aside from the aforementioned, keep an eye on the Builders - ITB had 9 closes just above that 200dma, if it breaks she'll retreat quick from the high end of the range - Watch the divergence in the Trannies, with Airlines jumping (Lower Oil, No ebola, Good PRASM), while the Rails see profittaking (Lower Oil demand = Lower Oil moving by rail) - Other Scheduled Catalysts include ADP Employment Change at 8:30, Treasury's quarterly refunding announcement at 9, Fed's Kocherlakota Speaks at 9:15, while Fed's Lacker Speaks at 9:30 - Markit US Services PMI at 9:45, and at 10 we get Online Help Wanted Index, ISM Non-Manf, and speak from Fed's Rosengren. 10:30 we get Oil Inventories, and after the closing bell - Bernanke Speaks at an Investor Conference in Denver - Finally, if you are in downtown Annapolis tonight, come join me for a birthday beer at McGarvey's - I'll be buying.

From Dave Lutz of JonesTrading, here's a quick guide to what traders are talking about this morning:
Good Morning! US Futures are breaking higher, with Russell, NDX and S&amp;P all adding 50bp early. The global rally started in Asia - Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 1.2% and the Shanghai Composite jumped 2.1% as President Xi Jinping signaled a nationwide expansion of free-trade zones. While Falling Ore weighed on Miners keeping Aussie in the red, and Nikkei fell 40bp despite stronger Retail Sales Data - India added 50bp on chatter reforms coming to boost growth. This shift in global sentiment is helping Europe recover, the DAX has added 1.3%, EuroStoxx 1% as the Banks recover yesterday's weakness - SX7E gaining 1.5%. Most EU markets are trading very light still, with volumes 30-50% below normal. Russian equities are bouncing and the Ruble rallying - helping sentiment in Europe. Keep an eye on Brazilian equities - EWZ is continuing yesterday's rally from lows, gaining 3% - PBR marked up 2% as the street covers shorts post election.
The 10YY is higher here, mirroring a weakness in German paper as the Fed starts their 2day meeting - The DXY is continuing its rally - making gains against the Euro, and getting back upside 108 to the Yen. Keep an eye on Sweden's Krona - just took out 3Y lows against the $ as their Central Bank cuts to 0% to fight deflation. Despite the headwind from the stronger dollar - most commodities are well bid. Silver and Copper are rallying, while Brent/WTI are up 50bp despite headlines Iran saying no OPEC cut next month. Grains and Beans are popping as yields in Australia and Russia may drop because of extreme weather - this is another crowded short. Scheduled catalysts include Durable Goods Orders at 8:30, S&amp;P CaseShiller at 9, at 10 we get Consumer Confidence and Richmond Fed, and finally at 1 we have a $29B, 2Y auction
Focus remains on earnings today (TWTR off 10%, downgraded BofA, SF, Nomura, RBC) - we have AET, AMTD, CIT, CMI, DD, FCX, GLW, HOT, MMC, PCAR, PFE, and TRW pre-open and AFL, AJG, AMP, BXP, EA, FB, GILD, MAR, WDC, and X after the bell. I'll also be watching the Oil Service Stocks, OIH never recovered with the commodity yesterday. Brazil remains interesting, as EWZ has been a straight line higher since yesterday's down 10% opening - Despite lighter Eco data yesterday, the ITB (Builders) managed to rally above the 200dma, and close near 3M highs - With rates slightly higher, watch tailwinds in Fins - there was a massive liquidation Friday in the XLF, seemed tied to a hedge coming off in Options. Finally, Ebola headlines are fading, and the Airlines continue to rocket higher - UAL, AAL and DAL are all up double digits for October.

Good Morning! The SPX is on a 5day winning streak, longest since October - right now US Futures are higher, led by a 20bp pop in Nasdaq stocks - Tuesday's have been a bulls friend - of the 15 Tuesdays so far this year, the S&amp;P 500 has only been down twice - If you had invested in the S&amp;P 500 only on Tuesdays so far this year, you would be up 8.7% YTD!. Markets are upbeat over in Europe, as the market seems to digest the occasional "firefight" in the Ukraine - but we keep an eye on Russia's Market, the Micex is off 60bp right now. It's Early, but $75B worth of Healthcare deals overnight has the IBB marked up almost 1%. The FTSE HC/Biotech Index is up 6% right now (Was closed Fri/Mon) - In Asia, the Shanghai gained 30bp, but concerns remain about the slew of IPOs announced - The Nikkei lost about 1% despite headlines from Nippon Life and the GPIF reshuffle - Aussie gained 40bp, but the Miners all closed solidly in the red as Metal prices deteriorate. Earnings remains a focus, with 50% of the ITB and IBB reporting this week - Overnight focus was on NFLX leaping almost 10% - today we have BK, CMCSA, CP, ITW, JNS, LMT, MCD, RF, SPG, TRV, and XRX are all pre-open while AMGN, DFS, GILD, ILMN, ISRG, JNPR, T, and YUM all report post-close Yesterday, The US index of leading indicators hit its highest since November - a sign the worst of the winter weather impact on the economy is over - The 10YY is off small ahead of a 2Y auction expected to post the highest auction yield in 2years later today. We have a bid in both € and Yen, pressing the Dollar lower, causing a tailwind for commodities - Platinum continues to bounce on Russia Sanction angst - while Silver and Gold are bouncing from multi-week/month lows. The Crude complex is in the red - WTI coming off a 7week high into API Inventories tonight. Your best performing commodity YTD is Coffee, and it is up 3% this AM on weather concerns (El Nino headlines everywhere), adding to the 75% 2014 gain. Scheduled Catalysts today include FHFA House Price Index for Feb at 9, Existing Home Sales for March, Richmond Fed, and Euro-Zone Consumer Confidence at 10, a very small POMO at 11, Former Fed Chairman Bernanke Speaks at the Economic Club at 11:45, and 1pm brings the Auction of $32 Bln 2-Year Notes.

For those keeping score, the FOMC "Drift" worked again, with the INDU registering a 1.4% gain in the 24 hours surrounding the announcement. Nasdaq continues to underperform, with NDX futures off 25bp, spilling over from weak action in FB (-4% on 70M share offering), TWTR (-1.5%), INTC (-50bp) - but ORCL a bright spot, adding 2.7% on better #s. Over in Europe, markets are all surging in heavy volume - most major exchanges up ~1.5% on 150% the normal 20day average trading. The EU Fins are cheering the Banking Resolution headlines, adding over 2%, and Yields are tightening in the PIIGS providing more momentum. Macro traders are keeping an eye on Turkey's market - off 1% - trying to stabilize after being smacked for over 8% earlier this week on Political stability concerns. In Asia, The Nikkei jumped 1.8% in heavy volume as the Yen collapsed to a 5Y low against the Dollar - The BOJ meeting overnight looms large. Aussie leapt 2% on Fed tailwinds, and a massive liquidity injection by the PBOC to stabilize short-term rates in China. EM remains resilient, despite the Fed headwind - a sharp contrast to last May's "taper Tantrum" induced angst. Reminder, we have a S&amp;P (3 add/3 delete from S&amp;P 500, 5 add/5 delete from S&amp;P 400, 3 adds/3 deletes for S&amp;P 600), Nasdaq (deleting the smallest securities in the index and replacing them with the largest eligible) and Russell index (9 IPO additions to the Russell 1000 index and 46 additions to the Russell 2000) rebalance tomorrow. Homebuilders remain in focus today with KBH's numbers - The ITB has surged through the 200dma, and nearing 4M highs. The 10YY is trickling lower as Investors continue to cover short positions, and the DXY is giving up some of it's gains from yesterday - a slight headwind for Commodities. The Oil complex is mixed as more disruption headlines flow from Libya - while Nat gas is popping 2% ahead of a DOE report anticipating a near-record drawdown in supplies. Gold is on a 6month Low, has a quick trip under $1200 before a small pop above, while Silver is getting smacked for 4% (but has still outperformed Gold by 1% over the last week).
