Three accused, who were arrested in connection with alleged corruption in supply of packaged drinking <keyword id="15300" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="40" keywordseo="Water">water</keyword> in superfast trains, have now been sent to 14-day judicial custody by a Special <keyword id="6354572" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="CBI">CBI</keyword> court today. 

	The accused were produced in the court after completion of their five-day CBI custody. 
 

	Special CBI judge Vinod Kumar remanded two senior rail officers -- Sandeep Silas and MS Chalia -- and a businessman -- Sharan Bihari Agrawal -- to judicial custody after CBI submitted that they were not required for further custodial interrogation.
 According to the probe agency, Silas and Chalia conspired with Agrawal and instead of taking <keyword id="62075" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rail-Neer">Rail Neer</keyword>, they had allowed some private firms to supply water in trains which resulted in a loss of Rs 6.25 crore to the exchequer. 

	Searches were conducted in which about Rs 28 crore cash was recovered out of which around Rs four lakh was counterfeit, said CBI. 
 On Saturday, Silas, a 1984-batch Indian Railway Traffic Service(<keyword id="524330" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="IRTS">IRTS</keyword>) officer, and Chalia of 1987 batch officer were taken into custody along with Agrawal, owner of R K Associates. The CBI has also registered case against seven private companies --- RK Associates Pvt Ltd, Satyam Caterers Pvt Ltd, Ambuj Hotel and <keyword id="6354553" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="real-estate">Real Estate</keyword>, PK Associates Pvt Ltd, Sunsine Pvt Ltd, Brandavan Food Product and Food World --- under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.

A typical sleep cycle lasts about <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/12148-sleep-basics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">90 to 110 minutes</a> and transitions between <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK526132/#:~:text=The%20human%20body%20cycles%20through,wave%20patterns%2C%20and%20eye%20movements." target="_blank" rel="noopener">two primary stages</a>: non-rapid eye movement and rapid eye-movement (REM) sleep. While dreams can occur in either sleep stage, the more vivid ones typically take place during REM sleep because that's when brain activity <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/12148-sleep-basics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increases</a>.In fact, research shows that brain activity levels during REM sleep are <a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/psychology/rem-sleep" target="_blank" rel="noopener">comparable to when we're awake. For one, timing plays a key role.Over the course of the night, we go through <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK526132/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">four to six </a>sleep cycles. With each additional cycle, we spend a little more time in REM, so we have more time to dream. During IRT, a healthcare professional helps you try and change the content or narrative of your nightmare. They may do this by helping you recreate positive images in place of frightening ones and rehearse the rewritten dream, sometimes <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5991964/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">10 to 20 minutes a day</a>, while awake. The idea being that once you're asleep, the new images will overwrite the frightening ones.If your dreams are so vivid they're disrupting your sleep, you could note of any medications you're taking or any medical conditions that may be contributing and discuss with a doctor about how to improve your sleep.

Chandigarh, Apr 24 () IIT researchers say they have developed a remote-controlled device to detect COVID-19 symptoms by mapping the body temperature, offering healthcare personnel a safer alternative to hand-held devices.The Infrared Vision System monitors the infrared radiation emanating from the human face to decide whether the person has fever or not. It has the decision-making capability to detect suspects based on the relative body temperature, which makes the screening process at railway stations, airports, bus stands, cinema halls and malls risk-free, the researchers at IIT-Ropar say.The device takes an infrared image of the face and decides within two seconds whether the person is a suspect case or healthy. The image captured during the screening can be uploaded to the processing unit without wire, they say."It will automatically detect whether a person is suffering from fever or cold and it will tell whether it is a suspect case or a healthy case," Ravibabu Mulaveesala, associate professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Ropar, said.InfraRed Thermography (IRT) involves the mapping of the thermal profiles of people to estimate their health condition.IRT plays a vital role in safe, fast and remote screening of (COVID-19) suspects with symptoms like fever, tiredness, shortness of breath, a runny nose, IIT-Ropar said in a statement.The Infrared Vision System measures a wide range of temperatures with a pixel resolution of160X120. Erode (TN), Apr 12 () A coronavirus positive woman hasgiven birth to a 'healthy' baby boy at a government medicalcollege hospital near here, where she has been undergoingtreatment, officials said on Sunday.    A team of doctors carried out the cesarean delivery at thePerundurai IRT Government Medical College Hospital, designatedfacility for COVID-19 cases, on Saturday night, they said.    She is among 14 women undergoing treatment at the hospitalfor coronavirus.    The new born was 'healthy', officials said.    Of the 60 COVID-19 cases detected in Erode district, asmany as 56, including six from Thailand, are being treated atthe hospital in Perundurai, about 18 kms from here.    Four others are at the ESI Hospital in Coimbatore.    The Thailand nationals have been arrested on charges ofindulging in religious preaching in violation of their touristvisa norms.    In all, a group of seven Thailand nationals came here somethree weeks ago, stayed at Kollampalayam Housing Unit complexand engaged themselves in preaching.    One among them died due to kidney ailment at a governmenthospital in Coimbatore. The remaining six tested positive forcoronavirus, prompting authorities to launch a massive contacttracing of those who had attended the preaching sessions andothers, leading to detection of most of the other 54 cases. Unlike IRT, which analyses student’s capability in solving each question, CTT presents the entire score that a student has managed to score in an exam. Scoring in CTT is based on predefined weightage, and does not take into account the difficulty level of each question. CTT works fine for average students, but not for the weak and strong ones. Put simply, (IRT analyses the response to a particular item, i.e., question, to decide the student’s latent ability. The motive of the theory is to provide a framework to analyse how well tests work, and also how well a single question in a test paper works. How does IRT Work? Looking into the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) and Graduate Management Admission Test (<keyword id="78186" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="GMAT">GMAT</keyword>) pattern of exams, which use the IRT model, would give us a better understanding of this methodology. First, the aspirants are asked a mid-level question and based on their response to it, the difficulty level of the next question and the subsequent ones are modified. Questions are asked based on the estimated ability of the candidate; hence, fewer questions suffice in assessing a candidate’s capability. The process of gathering group-level data on wide level items is called matrix sampling, which saves students the fatigue from answering a lot more questions. The pattern of test adapts itself based on the responses of the candidate. What’s so Great About It? The IRT model estimates the likelihood or probability of different responses to items by individuals. The three parameters of IRT to analyse the huge chunk of data set are: 1. But for an estimated <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6850667/">3 to 8% of the population</a>, recurrent nightmares are a disturbing problem that can wear down mental <keyword id="6354750" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="health">health</keyword> and sleep quality.The medical device company NightWare created an app meant to help the <a href="https://jcsm.aasm.org/doi/10.5664/jcsm.6990">numerous post-traumatic stress disorder patients</a> who experience traumatizing and persistent nightmares. Then, it gently vibrates — ideally enough to shake the wearer out of their bad dream, but not enough to wake them up."My guess is sometimes it'll wake you up, sometimes it won't wake you up," Michael Grandner, director of the Sleep and Health Research Program at University of Arizona, told Insider. "It's like when you're snoring and someone pokes you to roll over and you don't actually wake all the way up."NightWare was tested in a <a href="https://night-ware.com/news">randomized controlled trial of 70 people</a>, all veterans who have been diagnosed with PTSD and nightmare disorder, and it was found to improve sleep quality.The intervention is low risk, high reward, Grandner said, although he'd like to see more efficacy data. Another study of 240 patients is scheduled to be completed in 2021.<h2>Nightmares are just dreams that are strong enough to wake you up</h2>Like all dreams, nightmares occur during the rapid eye movement stage of sleep.During REM, the brain is hyperactive but the body is paralyzed, with the exception of the eyes and the muscles that control breathing.Heart rate and breathing are more variable during REM sleep and tend to increase overall during this stage. People may also twitch or mumble in their sleep during a particularly vivid dream, Grandner said. The strongest dreams can even wake you up."A nightmare is just a dream that has an emotional content that's so strong it steamrolls over your defenses and breaks through and wakes you up," Grandner said. "The simplest definition of a nightmare is a dream that wakes you up itself."Michael Nadorff, a nightmare disorder expert at Mississippi State University, said NightWare's vibrations could be a gentler awakening than the alternative. Even if the vibrations briefly wake the user up, it's better than jolting awake in a cold sweat.But, he said people are more likely to remember the dreams they wake up from, which is not a desired outcome for nightmares. Remembering unpleasant dreams could lead to insomnia if people become wary of sleep, and constant arousals could chip away at sleep quality.<h2>NightWare might cut nightmares short, but it doesn't address their root cause</h2>Compared to other interventions, the NightWare app is a Band-Aid, said Courtney Bolstad, a graduate student who works in Nadorff's lab. While it may provide a short-term fix, it doesn't address the underlying cause of nightmares like other therapies do.Imagery rehearsal therapy is the current recommended treatment for nightmare disorder. It involves writing down your dreams with re-imagined, non-frightening endings and then rehearsing those replacement dreams with the help of a professional. Often, in cases of PTSD, nightmares are a normal part of the healing process, Nadorff said. Just like exposure therapy involves working through a traumatic experience, nightmares can kick-start that process during sleep. "One hypothesis is that's actually what happens with nightmares. It's the body doing that exposure naturally to try to help the person overcome whatever stressful event they experienced," Nadorff said.However, when nightmares persist for more than a month after the trauma, doctors may recommend IRT or another treatment. Recurrent nightmares can increase the risk of depression, anxiety disorders, and <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4773635/">suicide</a>.The NightWare app is currently available by prescription for people who have nightmares associated with PTSD. The only words on it are simple, yet elegant: YOU ARE WRONG.No, it's not a meme crafted by an absurdist Twitter comedian. It's from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's daily briefing on the state's coronavirus response. Cuomo's PowerPoint briefings have garnered praise for their informativeness and <a href="https://www.fastcompany.com/90483382/the-real-star-of-andrew-cuomos-press-briefings-his-powerpoints">simple - yet effective - design</a>. And they are true PowerPoints: His team confirmed to <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/andrew-cuomo-coronavirus-style">GQ's Rachel Tashjian</a> that they were made on the stalwart office software. But the PowerPoints aren't new; Jon Campbell at the Lower Hudson Valley newsite lohud <a href="https://www.lohud.com/story/news/coronavirus/2020/03/24/new-york-andrew-cuomo-coronavirus-briefing-powerpoint/2903009001/">reports</a> that Cuomo has had one accompany almost every major speech he's ever given - and has often been mocked for them. Jim Malatras, who often advises Cuomo and has made hundreds of slideshows for him, told Campbell: "I feel extremely vindicated."<h2>What is it that's so endearing about the PowerPoints in this particular moment?</h2>Cuomo has quickly become <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/inside-gov-andrew-cuomos-daily-coronavirus-press-briefings-2020-4">must watch television during the age of coronavirus</a>, and the slides behind him have held particular appeal.I think it's because Cuomo has inadvertently become a master of <a href="https://www.vulture.com/2018/11/powerpoint-comedy-jaboukie-young-white-demi-adejuyigbe-crissy-milazzo.html">PowerPoint comedy</a>, an art form honed to perfection by performers like <a href="https://twitter.com/electrolemon">Demi Adejuyigbe</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/jaboukie">Jaboukie Young-White</a>. Those comedians utilize the format to deliver often absurdist messages via a relatively mundane office tool. PowerPoint screams corporate meetings that could have been an email. They're a hallmark of what anthropologist David Graeber calls "<a href="https://www.vox.com/2018/5/8/17308744/bullshit-jobs-book-david-graeber-occupy-wall-street-karl-marx">b------- jobs</a>."The humor in a PowerPoint comedian is the medium calmly being used to explain which <a href="https://www.theeagleonline.com/article/2020/02/jaboukie-young-white-of-the-daily-show-comes-to-au">famous actress oat milk is like</a>. It turns the generic, familiar PowerPoint into the absurd - and utilizing the same medium as office worker bees conflates the importance of the two. It makes you ask, for a brief moment, what the real difference is between your presentation on earnings and a <a href="https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2018/05/198191/powerpoint-presentations-trend-lorde-jack-antonoff">meticulously researched history of Lorde and Jack Antonoff</a>.Cuomo's PowerPoints broadcast the same absurdity, although not intentionally. There are no smooth graphics or aesthetically pleasing fonts at play here. There is no bureaucratic tempering of language. Instead, every Cuomo PowerPoint sounds like it should be read by Foghorn Leghorn on a bullhorn.<h2>Andrew Cuomo will come enforce social distancing himself if he has to</h2>Consider one signature Cuomo slide. It says that young people in New York City are still gathering in parks. Cuomo's next bullet simply reads: "I am going there today." This summons the decidedly funny image of a white polo-ed Cuomo personally breaking up a park gathering, maybe with a vaudevillian cane.The Cuomo style rebukes the essence of a conventionally effective PowerPoint: it is neither subtle nor complementary. It's not background noise. Instead, it's a whole other show within a show. Much like PowerPoint comedy, it turns the traditional presentation on its head - but wholly unironically.Cuomo's PowerPoints read like an iPhone notes app list of everything he woke up worrying about in the middle of the night. It's the text a dad sends with his assorted list of worries. They convey a sense of authenticity, of someone who is sharing his thought process (often bluntly and in ALL CAPS) in real time. Much like how a comedy PowerPoint gives you a peek into the thought process of a comedian, Cuomo's PowerPoints seem like his a projection of his id: They're from a loud, bullet-pointed heart.I know that everything happening in the world makes me want to pretty much scream nonstop. It's nice to know that's true of Cuomo too. But his screaming feels at least somewhat productive - and that's strangely comforting. For those of us for whom slide decks are a part of our lives, we can seek to embody the Big Cuomo Energy in our own presentations: namely, don't hold back on the caps.There is <a href="https://gothamist.com/news/cuomo-medicaid-cuts-coronavirus-aid">certainly much to criticize Cuomo for</a>, but his PowerPoints aren't it. Isabella Rose Taylor is a 12-year-old college freshman from Austin, Texas. Her fashion line, which is described as "hippie-grunge, yet feminine," will launch for back-to-school later this year. 
Prices range from $20 to $100. Taylor already <a href="http://blog.isabellarosetaylor.com/">blogs about fashion</a> and sells some clothes online. 
We spoke with the young prodigy about how she got into fashion and her goals for the future. 
Business Insider: How did you first become interested in fashion?
Isabella Rose Taylor: I began to paint at a very early age, and it was through my passion for painting and fashion that my current fashion line has become a business. I have always been enamored with fashion and five years ago, while I was exploring mixed media in my artwork I decided I needed to learn how to sew. I had my Mom sign me up for a sewing camp. I fell in love with sewing and designing. I immediately began sewing clothes for myself. As some of my friends began liking what I was wearing, I got the idea to sell them and to start a business. 
BI: What are you studying in college?

A 13-Year-Old Certified Genius Just Had Her First New York Fashion Week Show

To this day, after the 6 train makes its final downtown stop at the Brooklyn Bridge station, it travels through the old City Hall station in its route to turn back uptown.For the regular New Yorker, it's not so easy to get inside.The <a href="http://www.mta.info/museum">New York Transit Museum</a> hosts tours of the abandoned station at various times throughout the year. The tour is only available to museum members, and it's sold out until 2016, with a long waiting list.You even have to pass a background check before you'll be allowed in.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Marc A. Elevated subway <keyword id="34991" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="transportation">transportation</keyword> had been implemented in the city decades earlier, but City Hall station, the southernmost stop in Manhattan, would be one of the first stations built on a new underground line. It became the poster child for the entire New York subway station.The subway would go from there, to Grand Central, Times Square, and then all the way north to 145th street in the Bronx.George B. There are also no columns on the platform to block your view.Other unique elements include electric chandeliers, oak furnishings, white terra cotta, and decorative plaques.Despite City Hall's beauty, the larger, and more convenient Brooklyn Bridge station nearby grew more popular over time. A company and a society, linked to suspended Railway officials facing CBI probe in connection with alleged corruption in supply of packaged drinking water in premium trains, have come under the agency's scanner which suspects these were used for camouflaging illegal remittances received from private caterers. 
 CBI sources said Sandeep <keyword id="870324" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Silas">Silas</keyword>, a 1984-batch Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, has been involved in a project of his own, besides, being a very active player in the cultural scene of the national capital. 
 
The project run by Silas, Garland of Peace, has come under the scanner of the agency which will see weather any bribes were paid through it, they said, adding that all funds which came to the project and other cultural activities of Silas would also be probed. 
 
Sources said a company run by the son of M S Chaliam, another Railway officer facing CBI probe in the case, has also come under the probe of the agency. 
 
CBI suspects private catering companies could have paid illegal remittances to the officer through the company run by his son for alleged favours shown to them for supplying inferior quality of packaged drinking water on premium trains. 
 
The sources clarified that both the angles were at the initial stage of probe, which would be investigated in depth to arrive at any logical conclusion. 
 
CBI has registered a case against Chaliam, Silas and seven private companies - RK Associates Pvt Ltd, Satyam Caterers Pvt Ltd, Ambuj Hotel and Real Estate, PK Associates Pvt Ltd, Sunsine Pvt Ltd, Brandavan Food Product and Food World - under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. 
 
During searches on Friday last, CBI had recovered Rs 27 crore cash from Shyam Bihari Agrawal, his sons Abhishek Agrawal and Rahul Agarwal, who own RK Associates and Brandavan Food Product. 
 
It is alleged that the accused officials had shown favour to these private firms in supply of cheap packaged drinking water other than 'Rail Neer' which is mandatory in premium trains including Rajdhani and Shatabdi. 
 CBI had said that the Railway Board had prescribed that <keyword id="65866" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="IRCTC">IRCTC</keyword> shall provide Rail Neer at the rate of around Rs 10.50 per bottle to private caterers and they would be paid (approx) Rs 15 per bottle for supplying the same to the passengers in premium trains. 
 
However, in order to make undue gains, the private suppliers were allegedly supplying cheap packaged water, other than "Rail Neer", available in the market at a rate of Rs 5.70 to Rs 7 (approx) per bottle, thereby making profits for themselves and loss to the exchequer. 
 
"The accused public servants allegedly did not take any action against the private parties providing catering services in premium trains despite repeatedly being informed by IRCTC about non-picking of allotted quota of 'Rail Neer' by them," CBI spokesperson said. 
 
CBI said the directions of Railway Board to ensure supply of "Rail Neer" in premium trains were also ignored by the officials thereby causing undue pecuniary advantage to the private parties and corresponding loss to the IRCTC.
