The power output for the Exter hasn't been disclosed yet, but it is expected to produce similar figures to those of 83hp and 114Nm torque. The engine will be paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Additionally, Hyundai has announced that they will offer a factory-fitted CNG kit at launch, just like in the Nios and Aura models, as the Exter shares the same platform and underpinnings with them. The Exter will be available in five different trims – EX, S, SX, SX(O), and top-spec SX(O) Connect. On the sides, the Exter displays round and slightly flared wheel arches with thick cladding, which contribute to its square appearance. <keyword id="70910" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyundai-motor" source="Orion">Hyundai Motor</keyword> India Ltd is on track to achieving 60 per cent of its total domestic <keyword id="6357824" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sales" source="Orion">sales</keyword> from <keyword id="60427" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="suvs" source="Orion">SUVs</keyword> this year with models like Creta and the newly launched Exter accelerating the growth, according to company COO Tarun Garg. With exports accelerating in the last three months, the company is also confident of sustaining its overseas shipments momentum despite concerns over global geopolitical situation. "We will end up with more than 60 per cent at the end of the year which is what we said at the beginning of the year...We are now almost reaching there," Garg told PTI. He was responding to a query on how much would SUVs contribute to the company's overall sales considering the traction its models have witnessed in the market. He further said,"For us the good thing has been that SUV contribution has moved to 63 per cent in October and year-to-date at 59 per cent as against industry SUV percentage of 48 per cent. So that has really helped us to outperform the industry in terms of January to October numbers." Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) clocked total sales of 68,728 units in October 2023 as compared to 58,006 units in the same month a year ago, a growth of 18.48 per cent. In the January-October period this year, total sales stood at 6,43,535 units as against 5,78,956 units in the year-ago months , a growth of 11.15 per cent. In the <keyword id="6382118" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="domestic-market" source="Orion">domestic market</keyword>, sales during the period were at 5,09,910 units as compared to 4,65,678 units in the corresponding period last year, up 9.49 per cent. At the beginning of 2023, Garg said the contribution of SUVs to the company's total sales was 53 per cent. Explaining reasons behind the growth of HMIL's SUV sales, he said,"The Creta continues to be an outperformer.With the year-till-date growth of 16 per cent it maintains the segment leadership. Also, Exter is doing very well." Hyundai Creta competes with the likes of Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki's Grand Vitara, among others in the Indian passenger vehicle market. On the exports front, Garg said the company is also on track to meeting its target of 1.6 lakh units for the year with the last "two to three" months turning out to be good. "From July, we have been able to increase our <keyword id="6390515" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="capacity" source="Orion">capacity</keyword> by about 4,000 units a month and that gives us some leeway in terms of managing domestic and exports demand," he said, adding the company has been able to fulfill "backorders" in this quarter for exports. Another factor for increase in exports is that the "Latin American markets have been doing quite well and that has really helped us to put in very healthy export numbers," Garg said. He, however, acknowledged that there are concerns over the global geopolitical developments, specially in Israel and the Middle East. "We are keeping our fingers crossed but as of now the order inflow has been reasonably okay," Garg said, adding the supply flexibility has helped HMIL export more in the last three months.

The death of the cheetah named Daksha leaves behind just 17 of the 20 cheetahs that were translocated from South Africa beginning September 2022 as part of an initiative to revive cheetahs in India, about 70 years after the mammals became extinct in the country. The initiative, <a href="https://pib.gov.in/PressReleaseIframePage.aspx?PRID=1788373">Project Cheetah</a>, plans to introduce 50 cheetahs in the next five years. Daksha, died after a violent mating interaction with an adult male coalition, which included two male cheetahs, Agni and Varsha. Officials said that Daksha had been released in enclosure number 1 and the male cheetahs had been released from boma 7 (enclosure) for mating, after which they turned violent . A meeting of officials – attended by Inspector General of National Tiger Conservation Authority Amit Mallick, Wildlife Institute of India’s Qamar Qureshi, and the Cheetah Meta Population Initiative’s <keyword id="16556910" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vincent-van-der" source="Orion">Vincent van der</keyword> <keyword id="1271582" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="merwe" source="Orion">Merwe</keyword> – was conducted on 30 April in which the decision to allow this mating was made. “Such violent behaviours by male coalition cheetahs towards female cheetahs during mating are common. In such a situation, the chances of intervention by the monitoring team are almost non-existent and practically impossible,” the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said in a statement. This follows on the heels of the death of a female cheetah, Sasha, in late March due to kidney failure and a male cheetah, Uday in late April due to what was later determined as a heart attack. Is such violent behaviour normal? After sexual maturity, adult females are solitary and they only interact with males during mating. Females thus live a mostly solitary life after splitting off from their group, raising their cubs on their own. Male siblings remain together throughout their life. These groups of male siblings are called coalitions. If a female tries to escape the mating attempts of these coalitions, it can lead to violence and extreme aggression by the males. Conservationist van der Merwe said, “It is not unusual for male cheetahs to exhibit aggressive behaviour towards each other, as well as towards females. The company has recently filed an application for immediate resolution under insolvency and revival of its operations. "We will be able to resume bookings shortly. We thank you for your patience." Go First currently has around 50 aircraft in its fleet, with 50 per cent grounded due to engine outages.
