Stree 2 grosses ₹283 crore worldwide in first weekend

Worried about not being able to work out daily? Exercising even once a week is better than no physical activity, said Dr <keyword id="21063917" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sudhir-kumar" source="keywords">Sudhir Kumar</keyword>, a Hyderabad-based neurologist. The doctor, popularly known as 'Hyderabaddoctor' on X.com, said this on the social media platform along with a recent study on the benefits of people doing physical activity only on weekends -- known as weekend warriors. "Too busy to exercise on a regular basis? Exercise only on weekends to derive similar mortality benefits," he wrote on X. The study, published in the journal <keyword id="20003777" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bmj" source="keywords">BMJ</keyword>, followed more than 150,000 adults for about two decades. The findings showed that people who exercised once or twice per week had a 15 per cent lower risk of death, similar to those who worked out on 3 or more days per week. However, the benefit was evident only when the duration of exercise sessions was at least 30-60 min. "The results suggest that even busy adults could benefit from taking part in one or two sessions of exercise per week," said the researchers of the study from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. "Exercise as often as you can: exercising even once a week is better than not exercising. Ensure that the exercise session is of 30-60 minute duration," said the doctor, from <keyword id="19941238" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="apollo-hospital" source="keywords">Apollo Hospital</keyword> in <keyword id="19900176" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyderabad" source="keywords">Hyderabad</keyword>. The DOJ added that the bribery scheme was run from late 2017 to 2020. The scheme was designed to benefit certain third-party sellers on Amazon's Marketplace across the US. Kadimisetty and the other defendants served as "consultants" and a "middleman of sorts" to these sellers.The services they provided included: "Stealing confidential business information about Amazon algorithms," as well as "facilitating attacks on competing sellers and product listings," according to the DOJ. Amazon did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. Kadimisetty and the other individuals involved allegedly paid $100,000 worth of bribes to the employees, the DOJ said.Kadimisetty left the enterprise in late 2018 and pleaded guilty to his involvement in the bribery scheme.In addition to his prison sentence, Kadimisetty was also fined $50,000 and ordered to take three years of supervised release, according to CNBC.Four of the other defendants will face trial in October 2022. The floods in Assam have affected 19 lakh residents of the state and displaced about 5,00,000 people, who have taken shelter at relief camps. The death toll in the state has reached 25. Floods have also caused massive damage to infrastructure, including roads and bridges. Rising waters have also sparked concerns over the wellbeing of endangered one-horned rhinoceroses in the Kaziranga National Park. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited Assam on Saturday, and made an aerial survey of flood-hit areas, post which the minister announced a compensation, "The state government has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for victims of the flood," he said. 
 
BIHAR 
Bihar too faced a dire situation in some regions. Continuing heavy rain in the upper reaches has led to flooding in Supaul, Purnia and Kishanganj. So far, there have been 26 flood-related deaths in the state. Rising water levels in the Mahananda River are leading to a spread in the flooding in Katihar, Purnia and Kishanganj. 
 
UTTAR PRADESH 
Uttar Pradesh government has set up 41 relief camps to provide aid and shelter to people who have been affected by flooding. Rain in the upper reaches of rivers that run through the Terai region means water continues to be released from barrages. The floods have meant farmers face the possibility of a total loss of the kharif crop on thousands of acres of land. 
 
GURGAON 
Though vehicular movement remained slow in Gurgaon , it was an improvement from the 15-km-long jams of Friday. Repair works were carried out to roads in some parts after water cleared in the morning, but rain returned by late morning. 
 
TAMIL NADU 
Alerts have been issued in parts of northwestern Tamil Nadu after dams and barrages in the region received heavy inflows. The inflows continue to rise due to heavy rain in southern Karnataka, that has brought Bengaluru to a halt. KARNATAKA A number of low-lying areas continue to be flooded, with Kodichikkanahalli and Bilekahalli among the worst-hit. A number of lakes in the city have breached their banks, compounding the problem in surrounding areas. 
 
MUMBAI 
Mumbai continued to receive incessant downpour and more rain has been predicted for the city through the weekend. However, traffic seemed to be running smoothly overall even as local trains run late.

India witnessed a 244% demand increase in hotels across six major cities — Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad and Mumbai in the second quarter of 2022, according to Hotel Momentum India Report 2022. This growth is driven by weddings and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), and business travel. “The stellar performance of the hospitality sector over the past few months has boosted confidence levels of hotel owners and operators. This is further amplified by the return of the business traveler. Investors’ gaze has returned to the sector,” Sanjay Sethi, CEO of Chalet Hotels. All six key markets continued to witness a year-on-year growth in revenue per available room (<keyword id="1995892" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="revpar" source="Orion">RevPAR</keyword>) in the second quarter of 2022 as compared to last year, the report revealed. Goa remained the leader in RePAR, with a 54% increase in hotel occupancy levels. The average daily rate of hotels in Goa was the highest in India, at over ₹9,000. Mumbai was second with an occupancy rate the same as Goa and RevPAR of ₹8,000. Delhi was at the third place with each room generating a revenue of over ₹6,000. Bengaluru saw the steepest increase in RevPAR in Q2 2022, with a 660% growth compared to the same period in the previous year. “As business travel and corporate off-sites continued to grow, summer holidays offered a further impetus to the overall demand resulting in a renewed confidence in the sector. A US-based diaspora body on Tuesday launched an online petition campaign urging the Secretary of State Anthony <keyword id="10620101" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="blinken" source="Orion">Blinken</keyword> to reduce the long waitlist for various types of American visas being issued from <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>. "We request the State Department, Secretary of State Mr Anthony Blinken and the US embassies in India to eliminate wait times for <keyword id="6359421" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="visa" source="Orion">visa</keyword> appointments in India. "Even after a two-year-long Covid-era pause in visa appointments at the US embassies in India, the visa appointment situation is far from normal, requiring 300 to 900 days of wait time based on the visa types," Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies or FIIDS said launching its online petition campaign. As per travel.state.gov reports on October 31, there is an average 900+ days' wait time for appointments for visitors' visa (B1/B2), an average 400 days' wait time for students (F, M,J) and an average 300 days' wait time for petition-based temp workers like H, L, O, P and Q across the USA consulates in India (Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata), it said. In contrast, the US consulates in China only have an average three days' wait time, FIIDS said. "The 900+ days' delay deprives Indian Americans and Indian immigrants in the USA of having their beloved relatives to visit, whether in the time of difficulties, needs, or for celebrations, impacting their quality of life," it said. "The 400+ days' wait time affects students joining the US universities, that not only impacts students' future but also negatively impacts the US universities," FIIDS said, adding, the 300+ days' wait time is impacting productivity and success of various industries and businesses due to lack of skilled workers. "We urge the US State Department and Sec Blinken to resolve this issue. We believe it is not only important for US interests but the right thing to do on moral and compassionate grounds," FIIDS said in its petition on Change.Org. "As per Reuters news on 27th Sept, the Secretary of State blamed the lack of resources and funding due to lost revenues from fees on this 'self-financed program,'" the petition said. "We request the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps and to seek emergency funds to resolve this backlog. We are eager to assist in any way possible and will forge a coalition of individuals who will rise to the occasion to assist in mitigating this issue," it added.
