New Delhi, Dec 6 () Bajaj Auto on Friday introduced the Husqvarna premium motorcycle brand in India with the unveil of the all-new Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 models.
 Husqvarna is one of the oldest motorcycle brands in the world and has been in continuous production since 1903. Svartpilen and Vitpilen are bespoke Swedish motorcycles crafted to deliver high performance in a very aesthetic design, the company said in a statement.
 Bajaj Auto said it will launch Husqvarna in India as a part of its Probiking Business Unit that handles the company's premium motorcycle vertical.
 The Husqvarna Svartpilen and Vitpilen 250 will start retailing from February 2020 onwards. KTM showrooms will be upgraded to sell both KTM and Husqvarna high performance motorcycles, Bajaj Auto said.
 "The premium motorcycling segment has seen rapid growth in India in the last five years, growing almost by 20 per cent CAGR with two broad classes of motorcycles - sporty high performance machines and lifestyle bikes with limited performance," Bajaj Auto President (Probiking) Sumeet Narang, said.
 "The Husqvarna twins are meant for discerning motorcycle riders with an evolved taste, a strong appreciation for style and for those who don't want a compromise between performance and elegant design," he added.
 Husqvarna is part of the KTM AG group, which owns motorcycle brands KTM and Husqvarna, where Bajaj Auto owns a 48 per cent stake. RKL ABM

Mumbai, Feb 25 ( ) Bajaj Auto on Tuesday said two Husqvarna brand of motorcycles, to be launched next month, will be sold at an introductory price of Rs 1.80 lakh ( ex-showroom Delhi).The 250-cc premium bike models are Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250.A leading Swedish brand, Husqvarna is part of the KTM group. Bajaj Auto holds around 48 per cent stake in the group.The two motorcycles were unveiled in India last December.Bajaj Auto Executive Director Rakesh Sharma said the premium motorcycle segment has seen a CAGR of almost 19 per cent in India over the last five years, with two broad classes of motorcycles -- sporty high-performance and lifestyle motorcycles with limited performance. Husqvarna Motorcycles would be sold at KTM showrooms. To begin with, Husqvarna twins would be available at 100 showrooms across 45 cities. Bajaj Auto to sell Husqvarna motorcycles at Rs 1.80 lakh introductory price

<keyword id="47944" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="KTM">KTM</keyword> teased a prototype of the much-awaited <keyword id="3832045" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="KTM-790-Duke">KTM 790 Duke</keyword> at EICMA 2016, an event which was held in Milan. The beast runs on a whole new and powerful 800cc parallel-twin engine and is mounted on a steel frame. 
 The Australian-based company is calling the new engine ‘LC8c’ and as per various reports, the same engine will make its way in an adventure bike that will be launched under KTM’s sister brand <keyword id="1543101" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Husqvarna">Husqvarna</keyword>. 
 
KTM believes its new beast will be bringing "unparalleled poise, telepathic levels of feedback and lightness that's off the scale". 
 
Most of the components of the 790 Duke Prototype is said to be a prototype but sophisticated technology and features on the production bike, in the form of ride-by-wire throttle, multiple rider modes, multi-level traction control, an IMU, and phone connectivity are said to be present in the bike that will be out in showrooms. 
 
The production bike will still take some time, so expect the bike to be launched sometime later in 2017, with the bike going on sale only by 2018.

After a year of subdued sales, auto companies in India were looking forward to recovering in 2020. However, it exported a total of 32,009 two-wheelers to the overseas markets last month, which is down by a whopping 91% as compared to 4,23,315 units sold in April last year. Moody’s Investor Service, the credit rating agency on Wednesday (May 13) said it expects global auto sales to fall 20% in 2020, more than its previous estimate of about 2.5% drop due to coronavirus concerns. It also retained a “negative” outlook on the sector and said it expects a healthy rebound in global sales in 2021 with a growth of 11.5%. “Beyond next year, the recovery in auto demand is likely to continue, but at a slower pace. We expect mid-to-high single-digit sales growth in 2022, bringing total global unit sales up to around 85 million to 88 million units, still short of the 2019 sales level of 90.2 million units, much less the recent peak of 95.3 million units in 2017,” Moody’s said. It appeals to both entry-level riders and experts."The Street Twin, the latest installment in Triumph's legendary Bonneville lineup, has a 900cc engine, which isn't exactly small, but it isn't large, either. It hits a sweetspot for riders; the Street Twin isn't at all underpowered, but it isn't intimidating. The retro styling fits into the currently quite popular "standard" bike segment. This is a crowded arena, with great bikes on offer from Ducati, Indian, Harley-Davidson, and the established Japanese manufacturers. But Triumph has always played in this space, so it has the DNA to deliver automatic credibility.The Street Twin has a light, contemporary look - without losing that made-in-England, throwback Triump charm - and is loaded with tech features, including ride-by-wire throttle control and advanced traction control, all of which enhance safety and rideability. But the best thing about this bike, as the Motorcyclist reviewers noted, is probably the price: it's less than $9,000, and it's all Triumph, all the time.
