Tarun Mansukhani, known for movies "Dostana" and "Drive", will direct "Housefull 5", which will be released in theatres on Diwali 2024. Along with Kumar, actor Riteish Deshmukh will also return for the fifth chapter, to be produced by producer Sajid Nadiadwala's banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. "Get ready for FIVE times the madness! Bringing to y'all #SajidNadiadwala's #Housefull5 Directed by @tarun_mansukhani See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024!" Kumar posted on his social media handles. The franchise started with 2010's "Housefull", which was followed by three sequels -- "Housefull 2" (2012), "Housefull 3" (2016) and "Housefull 4" (2019).

As per a source, Akshay is expected to start shooting for the fifth installement from January 15, 2024 in London. Starring <keyword id="2823" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar" source="Orion">Akshay Kumar</keyword> and Riteish Deshmukh along with other actors, the film is all set to be released during Diwali in 2024. In June this year, Akshay announced the fifth instalment of his hit comedy franchise 'Housefull'. Taking to Instagram, Akshay shared a poster of '<keyword id="8370870" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housefull-5" source="Orion">Housefull 5</keyword>' captioning it, "Get ready for FIVE times the madness!. Bringing to y'all #SajidNadiadwala's #Housefull5 Directed by @tarun_mansukhani. See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024!" 'Housefull 5' marks the first-ever franchise film in Indian Cinema to have five installments.The first part of 'Housefull' was released in the year 2010 and starred Akshay, Riteish, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Boman Irani. The film was declared a hit, followed by another hit sequel 'Housefull 2' which was released in the 2012 and included a stellar cast of Akshay, Ritiesh, John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty and Asin. Both parts were helmed by director Sajid Khan. Sajid was replaced in the third instalment of the film by director duo Sajid Samji and Farhad Samji. The film was released in 2016. Director Farhad Samji helmed the fourth part of the franchise which was a reincarnation comedy film. The fifth part will be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani. Sajid Nadiadwala is producing it. (ANI)

So much so, makers of one of the films--Ujda Chaman staring Sunny Singh of Sony ki Tittu ki Sweety fame-- filed a legal case against the makers of Ayushman Khurana’s Bala. The trailers of both the films promises the same story of a single man’s losing fight with — premature baldness. Amidst the melee, yet another movie with the same story line released, drawing little attention. Gone Kesh starring Shwetha Tripathi also tells the story of a young girl Enakshi who wants to get married but unable to because of her a medical condition called alopecia — an autoimmune disorder that often results in hair loss. The film was released in March this year and reportedly earned ₹1.3 crores on the day of release. But the real fight is between Bala and Ujda Chaman. Apart from the same plot, the look of two actors and dialogues are too similar to miss. Strangely both the films will hit the theatres within a gap of 24 hours. Bala will release on November 7 — a week before its original schedule — while Ujda Chaman will hit the theatres a day later, on November 8. Ujda Chaman’s director Abhisekh Pathak claims his film is an official remake of <keyword id="4293900" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ondu-motteya-kathe">Ondu Motteya Kathe</keyword> a 2017 Kannada movie. Bala’s director Amar Kaushik however stands strong on the originality of his film. "I am away from all of this. I am doing a film, I am also getting to know that this film ('Bala') is kind of similar. Initially you feel like 'why and how is this happening?' but then you feel it's ok. He's playing his part, I am playing mine. We both are actors doing our jobs. I love him and I'm a fan of his acting," said Sunny Singh, the actor of Ujda Chaman.
