The launch event took place in Bengaluru, with bookings set to open on January 1, 2025, ahead of deliveries scheduled later in the year. The company has said that the prices for its electric scooters will be announced in January 2025. The company plans on establishing <keyword id="24185739" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="battery-swap-stations" source="keywords">battery swap stations</keyword> in major cities, emphasizing battery reuse and reducing range anxiety. The company has established 84 battery swap stations across Bengaluru as part of its infrastructure rollout, with plans to expand into major cities such as New Delhi and Mumbai. Customers will get three free services during the first year and a standard warranty covering up to 50,000 km or three years. <h2>Honda Activa e specifications</h2>The Honda Activa e is identical to its popular ICE counterpart, offering the same body and frame. However, the design is completely different, offering a more modern look and feel. It features a TFT digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. It features a swappable battery setup, with the scooter featuring two 1.5 kWh batteries. The scooter is claimed to offer a range of up to 102 km on a single charge with the two batteries. The scooter will offer three riding modes – Economy, Standard and Sport. It is powered by a wheel-side motor with a maximum output of 6 kW, providing a top speed of 80 kmph. <h2>Honda QC1 specifications</h2>The Honda QC1 will be a more affordable option, designed for shorter rides. The QC1 features a similar design while offering a smaller LCD display to keep the costs down. It is equipped with a fixed 1.5 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 80 km on a single charge. The scooter is equipped with an in-wheel motor which generates between 1.2 kW and 1.8 kW power. It comes equipped with a 5-inch LCD instrument panel, under-seat storage, and a USB Type-C socket for convenience. Honda Activa e and QC1 electric scooters unveiled in India, to go on sale in 2025

The <keyword id="19900449" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="government" source="keywords">government</keyword> has sought proposals from the industry to set up <keyword id="22514802" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="E-commerce-export-hubs" source="keywords">e-commerce export hubs</keyword> (ECEH) in the country for examination, support, and hand-holding. Based on the proposal, further details, including software requirements for ECEH, to facilitate seamless and expeditious export clearances, will be firmed up, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (<keyword id="19985555" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="DGFT" source="keywords">DGFT</keyword>) has said in a trade notice. In this regard, it said, draft modalities for operation of these hubs have been formulated. Based on draft modalities proposed, the government would like to initiate a pilot launch of ECEH. "In this regard, detailed proposal(s) for setting up ECEH may be submitted to this directorate, for examination, support and hand-holding," the DGFT said. In the Budget, the government announced setting up of these hubs to promote <keyword id="19916774" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="exports" source="keywords">exports</keyword> through e-commerce medium in public-private-partnership (PPP) mode. Initially there are plans to set up 10-15 hubs in the country. These hubs would be designated areas, which would act as a centre for favourable business infrastructure and facilities for cross border e-commerce activities. The major objectives are to provide for predictability and shortest possible turnaround time for e-commerce exports, easy re-import for e-commerce returns or rejects, bringing various cross-border e-commerce stakeholders under one roof. At present, <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="India" source="keywords">India</keyword>'s exports through this medium are only about USD 5 billion compared to China's USD 300 billion, annually. There is a potential to take it to USD 50-100 billion in the coming years. The draft modalities for operations of these hubs talked about movement of goods from supplier's premises to ECEH; pre-screening of goods; design of these hubs; and process flow for customs clearance once a buyer is found. ECEH will have two physical components -- first will be the fulfilment area for packing, labelling, storing to take place after pre-screening and till a buyer is found; and the second will be a customs station where the goods will be customs cleared after the buyer is found, ready for dispatch. Through these hubs, small producers will be facilitated to sell to aggregators and then that aggregator will find markets to sell. Export products, which hold huge potential through this medium include jewellery, apparel, handicrafts and ODOP (one district one product) goods. In such hubs, export clearances can be facilitated. Besides, it can also have warehousing facilities, customs clearance, returns processing, labelling, testing and repackaging. A report by economic think tank GTRI India's e-commerce exports have the potential to reach USD 350 billion by 2030, but banking issues hinder growth and increase operational costs. India has set a target of USD 1 trillion of merchandise exports by 2030 and cross-border e-commerce trade has been identified as one of the mediums to meet this aim. <ul><li>From April 1, 2023, the price of a basket of essential medicines could rise significantly due to the annual change in the wholesale price index in 2022 to 12.12%. </li><li>This is the highest-ever hike allowed by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA). </li><li>As per a survey by LocalCircles, 58% of respondents observed a price hike in the last 12 months in regularly-purchased medicines.</li></ul>Consumers have been reeling from the rise in medicine prices in the last 12 months, reveals a survey by community social media platform LocalCircles, even as prices of a basket of essential medicines are set to rise from April 1. The government is set to allow drug manufacturers to increase the ceiling prices of around 900 scheduled drugs (medicines), in line with the change in the annual Wholesale Price Index (WPI). As per the drug price regulator National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), the annual change in WPI in 2022 is 12.12% and thus the drug prices too could see a similar hike. <a href="https://scroll.in/latest/1046450/essential-medicines-to-get-costlier-by-up-to-12-from-april-1">Reports </a>state that this is the highest-ever hike allowed. As per the LocalCircles survey, 58% of respondents observed a price hike in the last 12 months in regularly-purchased medicines. For most of the respondents, the price increase has been significant i.e. over 20%. In fact, 12% of respondents observed a price rise of over 50% for most of the medicines purchased. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Specialised medicines turn more expensive" comment="subhead2" text="Specialised medicines turn more expensive">Specialised medicines turn more expensive</cmsannotation> The survey revealed that while consumers have observed a price hike for all medicines, the majority of the respondents indicated that prices of specialised medicines for diabetes, blood pressure (BP), arthritis, cancer, etc., have risen the most in the last year. On an aggregate basis, 89% of respondents experienced a significant price increase in the specialised medicines category while 57% experienced a significant price increase in the general medicine category as well i.e. medicines for fever, cough, headache, eye drops, vitamins, etc. Moreover, it’s not just allopathic medicines which became costlier – 2% of respondents pointed to price increases in Ayurveda and Homoeopathic medicines as well, revealed the survey. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Customers want a cap on trade margins" comment="subhead2" text="Customers want a cap on trade margins">Customers want a cap on trade margins</cmsannotation> The survey respondents raised concerns over the huge gap between the medicine selling price and the MRP (maximum retail price) and 55% of respondents asked for a 50% cap on trade margins while 21% asked for a 100% cap on trade margins. “People feel that at least with a cap on trade margin the MRPs will become more realistic and many consumers who currently may be subject to overcharging may end up paying a more reasonable price for the medicines,” stated LocalCircles. As per the survey, 56% of respondents indicated that the MRP of medicines regularly taken by them or their family members has risen in the last 12 months. 8% of the respondents observed a hike of 50% or more in MRP. LocalCircles survey received over 34,000 responses from consumers located in 323 districts of India. 46% of the respondents were from Tier 1 cities, 30% were from Tier 2 and 24% were from Tier 3 and 4 districts. Prices of specialised medicines for diabetes, BP, arthritis, cancer have risen the most in the last 12 months, reveals LocalCircles survey

<ul><li>India’s car makers as well as two wheeler companies, from Hero Moto to GM, are in a fix as local lockdowns are forcing plant shutdowns.</li><li>The surge in COVID-19 cases has also dented consumer demand. People are even cancelling earlier orders.</li><li>A survey of dealers, including the ones of Maruti Suzuki, shows that sales in April may be down anywhere between 30% to 70% across major states. </li><li>This also poses yet another threat to millions of people employed in the sector and the slump could cascade into consumer products as well.</li></ul>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked state governments in India to implement full lockdown only as a last resort. So far, in the face of the second wave of COVID-19 infections, complete statewide or national lockdowns have not been announced but the <keyword id="20077" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="automobile-industry">automobile industry</keyword> in India ⁠— the fourth largest in the world⁠— has a story of its own. A drastic, and sustained, rise in COVID-19 cases across the country have caused localised lockdowns, forcing auto makers and dealers to temporarily shut down their facilities. Not only have new orders fallen, people are even cancelling the bookings made earlier. The maker of the popular Splendor bike said that despite its 4-day shutdown and production halt, it will not have an impact on its ability to meet demand, according to the company’s exchange filing. General Motors, the US-based car maker, fired all its 1,419 employees in its Talegaon plant in Pune. The company’s director of communications, George Svigos, told <a href="https://auto.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/passenger-vehicle/cars/gm-india-to-lay-off-1419-workmen-at-talegaon-plant-invokes-sec-25-of-the-industrial-dispute-act/82107319">Economic Times</a> that no vehicles were manufactured in the last four months. The impact of lockdowns and curfews will have a spillover effect on auto dealers as well. John K Paul, managing director of Popular Vehicles, one of Kerala’s largest Maruti Suzuki dealers, told <a href="https://auto.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/passenger-vehicle/cars/lockdown-in-6-states-to-impact-31-of-indias-car-market/82154934">ET Auto</a> that he expects retail sales for the last year to be down 45%-50%. The slump in auto sales last year led to large scale layoffs in the auto sector and the same threat looms large again. The future’s looking bleak One could take heart from the swift recovery in car sales after last year’s lockdown but that miracle may not repeat itself this time. Optimism is scarce and people have lesser savings than they did last year. So, the pent-up demand may be missing this time around, according to analysts. Making matters worse, both two wheeler makers and car makers have had to increase prices due to the shift to BS-6 models (with less emissions) as well as a rise in raw material prices.
