They change their menu daily. 
Their extensive menu features regional Indian and world cuisines, la carte items, healthy meal combos, Indian and English desserts and a huge range of packaged food, condiments, and beverages. 
 Users can place orders from the website, Holachef.com, or Holachef’s mobile app on <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> and <keyword id="75489" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IOS">iOS</keyword>. This food startup is quite different than their competitors like Foodpanda, Swiggy, and Zomato because they create their own food which leads to control in hygiene, delivery time and user experience. Say Hola to this Mumbai- based food startup that changes its menu daily

India’s start up scene is gaining steam; all thanks to the some of the best think tanks of the country investing their money enthusiastically into start ups. Having funded a couple of start ups recently, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ratan+tata">Ratan Tata</a> is now investing in Holachef, a Mumbai-based food start up. 
 
Tata first invested in March 2014 in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Altaeros+Energies">Altaeros Energies</a>, a wind energy start-up founded by graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since then, he has funded quite a few start ups, including woman’s fashion portal, Kaaryah. 
 
Besides turning investor, Tata, is also an adviser to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Kalaari+Capital+">Kalaari Capital</a> along with putting capital in some of its portfolio companies like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Snapdeal">Snapdeal</a>, Urban Ladder, and BlueStone earlier. He typically invests small amounts - less than $1 million - in early-to-late stage ventures. 
 
A brain child of Saurabh Saxena, Holachef provides home cooked at affordable prices, all across Mumbai and Pune. Holachef had raised Series A funding of Rs 20 crore in a round led by Kalaari Capital in June this year. Holachef had raised a seed fund of Rs 2 crore from India Quotient in February 2015. 
 
Saurabh Saxena, Co-founder and CEO, confirmed about the funding and told Business Insider India, “With his(Ratan Tata) guidance, Holachef is sure to become a leader in the food-tech space, with customer delight at its core. By winning his trust, we have raised the bar of quality and excellence for ourselves.” 
 
Holachef has a couple of competitors in the market, including BiteClub, Eatlo and TinyOwl Homemade. Founded by Saurabh Saxena, Gelra and Ritu, this start up have both professional and amateur chefs in its platform.

A startup in the food technology space, HolaChef raised a seed funding of Rs 2 crore from India Quotient early this year. Ratan Tata has made an investment of undisclosed amount in this startup, boosting its growth potential by a great extent. This bright spot among the startups also aims to raise an additional Rs 20 – 30 crore in the coming months to realize its full potential. 
 
A technology to track your sugar! 
<a href="http://diabe.to/">Diabeto</a> is a solution that was most needed in the times when diabetes is turning out to be a silent killer on the prowl. It is a hardware device which plugs into existing glucometers to transfer the sugar reading from the sugar testing machine, using Bluetooth to an Android device that has the diabeto app installed. 
 
This startup initially raised $70,000 in total, and was offered an additional $500,000 in case the business was interested in staying in Chile. Well, India being the better and lucrative market of the two, the minds behind Diabeto decided to be home in India. Now, time can reveal whether this decision was a good one or otherwise. 
 
Love across technology 
<a href="http://www.trulymadly.com/">Truly Madly</a>, in short, is a dating app that helps connect lovelorn people who are looking to meet the ‘right’ kind of partners who could be separated by mere geography. Worry no more! Started by Sachin Bhatia, Truly Madly is a dating app that was meant to cater to the love needs of people between age group 18 and 26 years. What’s the greatest cut the app has been able to make above the rest of the players in the same space? TM is about being a responsible app that connects people only after verifying their identity. No space for grasshoppers here. This app raised nearly Rs 35 crore funding early this year.

<a href="https://www.taskbob.com/">TaskBob</a> conceived by Aseem who wanted to help average Indians meet their needs to run chores by way of roping in some experienced and reliable handymen was a dream come true for many people who simply find such tasks time consuming and exhausting since they have a long history of being conned at getting small jobs done. Now, no more sweat about menial tasks because TaskBob takes care of the entire gamut of requirements that need the attention of an expert plumber, painter, carpenter or just about anyone who is not on your friends’ list! The startup raised $ 1.2 mn from Orios and Mayfield in April this year. TaskBob is focusing on Mumbai right now, and has plans to expand soon.

Mumbai-based <a href="http://www.mydentist.co.in/">MyDentist</a> conceived by Vikram Vora, is a chain of over 103 dental clinics spread across Greater Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Surat. With over 3 lakh cases that have been successfully treated much to the pleasure of both founders and users, MyDentist has addressed a crucial problem faced by most parents and youngsters by running nearly 100 clinics across cities. MyDentist, apart from its most successful run, also raised funds up to Rs 50 crore recently.

These Indian start-ups are revving up the Indian business scenario

At a time when online fashion retailer <keyword id="319719" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Myntra">Myntra</keyword> is planning to shut down its website and concentrate only on mobile app mode of operations, the big question of the hour is : Would online retailers do away with their websites and focus on mobile-app only? 
 
After speaking to half-a-dozen startups, The Economic Times found that the new entrants plan to channel efforts and marketing dollars entirely on their mobile applications. 
 Among the ones ET spoke to are local services startups Zopper, Doormint and LocalOye; online-first restaurants Holachef and Spoonjoy; online dating startup Truly-Madly; and on-demand grocery delivery firm <keyword id="2809732" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="PepperTap">PepperTap</keyword>. 
 
Large eCommerce firms such as Flipkart, Snapdeal, Quikr, Ola and Myntra get 70-80% of their traffic from mobile devices, a key factor influencing Internet companies and startups to consider being app-only platforms, the ET news report confirms. Flipkart and its fashion affiliate Myntra began the trend by shutting their mobile websites and relying instead on their apps to encourage repeated use and to push targeted discounts and notifications. 
 Yet exception is there to prove the rule. Quikr is still not keen on shutting down web operation. "Mobile is clearly the most important channel for us, but for our business, which has a lot of customers in rural India, the browser is important as well," founder and CEO <keyword id="1063538" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pranay-Chulet">Pranay Chulet</keyword> told the financial daily. 
 
India's smartphone market grew 54% to 140 million devices last year, and is expected to reach 651 million in four years and be the largest mobile-first Internet market, according to Cisco. 
 
As a reflection of this market growth, Ola, India's largest taxi-hailing company, saw cab bookings through its mobile app double in the past 12 months. In contrast, its "website as a source of bookings has been negligible, as 80% of the bookings come through the app and around 20% through the call centre", Anand Subramanian, director of marketing communication at Ola, which registered more than 2 lakh rides a day in January told the ET.

<keyword id="2067730" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Crayon-Data">Crayon Data</keyword>, a Singapore-based big data firm, is the recent one to join the league of a dozen startups that have raised funding from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ratan+tata">Ratan Tata</a>.
 This personal investment from the chairman emeritus of <keyword id="46894" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Sons">Tata Sons</keyword> comes just three months after he joined as a senior adviser to Jungle Ventures, the Singapore-based VC which has invested in Crayon. "We are excited and honored. To meet <keyword id="6360722" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="ratan-tata">Ratan Tata</keyword> and have our vision validated by him is an accolade in itself," said Srikant Sastri, co-founder of Crayon Data. 

	The company, co-founded in 2012 by IIM Calcutta graduates Sastri and Suresh Shankar, has raised $10 million in funding from Singapore-based Jungle Ventures and Spring Seeds so far. It employs 100 people within offices spread across New York, Dubai, Chennai, Singapore and London.
 

	Crayon has an engine that helps large enterprises deliver personalized choices to their consumers. It is developing what it calls a "consumer taste fabric", which maps choices across 15 categories, using machine-learning and complex algorithms. This taste fabric is then mapped to vast internal (enterprise) and external (online) data sets to provide a set of personalized choices to consumers.
 Tata, after stepping down from an active role in the <keyword id="6355725" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Group">Tata Group</keyword>, has become an influential investor in startups. He has put his money into several internet companies and startups including Ola, Cardekho, Paytm, healthcare platform Lybrate, lingerie etailer Zivame and women's clothing brand Kaaryah. In addition to Jungle, Tata serves as an adviser with Kalaari Capital and IDG Ventures. He has invested in nearly a dozen of Kalaari's portfolio companies including <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword>, UrbanLadder, Holachef, YourStory and Bluestone. 

	"We have always strongly believed in Crayon's proposition. Srikant and Suresh, with their years of experience in Marketing and Analytics, have always had a clear vision of the value Crayon can bring to consumer-facing enterprises," said Anurag Srivastava of Jungle Ventures said.

<keyword id="1397790" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vani-Kola">Vani Kola</keyword>, MD, <keyword id="1397792" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kalaari-Capital">Kalaari Capital</keyword> got the investment for her start-ups like any typical entrepreneur by the trial and error method. Newly interested in business, she went step-by-step and decoded how to get funding by first making a business plan, then asking for help. “If you have the passion and the perseverance and problem-solving ability, these three Ps can get you anywhere,’’ she told Business Insider in a candid chat in Kalaari Capital's modern office and Incubator in Bengaluru. Genuinely been helped by a lot of people, when Kola successfully sold her company, she didn’t want to stop working. Kola left India in 1985 and felt that the country has completely transformed by the time she left so she decided to see if her home still gave her inspiration. It did.

 Homecoming and How She came back home to India for a month in 2006 to try and reconnect back to her roots and also figure out her next move. After traveling across the country, she decided that she wanted to help the entrepreneurs that never got the kind of exposure that she had been lucky to receive. Kola started <keyword id="4542933" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="indo-us-ventures">Indo-US Ventures</keyword>, which was started with the intent of bridging the two countries by enabling more transactions. She raised a maiden fund of $210 million in 2006 with <keyword id="175777" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vinod-Dham">Vinod Dham</keyword>, who is known for developing Intel’s Pentium chip. Post parting with Dham, she raised another $440 million, making her the second-largest firm in India by assets which is now called Kalaari Capital- the name inspired by Kerala’s highly trained martial arts. One of the first movers in E-commerce space, the Venture fund has invested in companies such as Via, Myntra, Holachef, Zivame, and even Snapdeal.

 First Mover's Outsider Perspective Crediting her outsider’s perspective for betting on start-ups that have blown up, Kola says that her investments are based on calculated futuristic trends that will be mainstream ten years from now. Armed with more than $65 million, she has invested in 60 plus start-ups and growing. Commenting on the volatile e-commerce sector and the recent markdowns and firings, Kola thinks that while the companies might get consolidated, e-commerce is here to stay - “What will win the market is great customer service, the brand name is unimportant. Some companies will fail but the sector will keep growing,” Kola comments on the highly volatile e-commerce sector.

According to reports, Kalaari has already made $100 million from Snapdeal through secondary sales and it is bound to make more.
