Amul, marketed by the <keyword id="110794" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gujarat-Co-operative-Milk-Marketing-Federation">Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation</keyword>, plans to zoom ahead Hindustan <keyword id="45009" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Unilever">Unilever</keyword> as the country’s largest FMCG firm over next two years. As GCMMF is growing at a CAGR of 19% for last seven years and confident to continue such high pace of growth Amul’s managing director RS Sodhi expressed the positivity, while talking to The Economic Times. GCMMF touched Rs 27,000 crore sales in 2016-17, while Hindustan Unilever had touched Rs 31,987 crore revenue in 2015-16. Hindustan Unilever is yet to declare its result for last fiscal, according to the ET. "Around 13-14% of our growth will come from milk procurement expansion and 6-7% from the average price hike. We are expanding milk procurement outside <keyword id="6354766" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gujarat">Gujarat</keyword> in states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, West Bengal and Maharashtra," Sodhi told the financial daily.

The company has appointed Koshy George as its Chief Marketing Officer. George was in-charge of global branding for two of HUL’s iconic personal care brands - Lifebuoy &amp; Pears while also leading a global consumer platform for the skin cleansing category across key brands like Dove, Lux, Sunlight among others. So what will be George’s mandate at Marico? “He has a very exciting and challenging agenda in driving premiumisation of our portfolio over the next few years,” Saugata Gupta, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Marico said. This could include both new products as well as rebranding initiatives to target upmarket customers who would pay more for a better brand and experience. With George’s experience in leading a brand to go global, it is expected that Marico will expect him to look at its global marketing portfolio too. Marico has made its mark in 25 countries across emerging markets of Asia and Africa, with marquee brands in the categories of hair care, skin care, edible oils, health foods, male grooming, and fabric care. Marico has been focussing on its foreign markets (Bangladesh, Vietnam, Middle East and North Africa and South Africa) also ramping up expansion into these markets. "The company is aiming for 8-10 percent volume growth over the medium term (3 to 5 years), coupled with healthy market share gains," Marico CFO Vivek Karve told <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/india/marico-aims-up-to-10-volume-growth-healthy-market-share-gains-in-5-years-2911571.html">Moneycontrol.</a> The company saw a 22% revenue from its international businesses as of March 2018. Its annual revenue for the year ended March 2018 stood at ₹6,417.7 crores. For George, the move means coming full circle to where he started out. He joined Marico as a management trainee and went on to be an Area Sales Manager before joining HUL where he rose the ranks in the 14 years that followed. He is seen sitting on an unsorted heap of waste in a household dustbin refusing to get out. This action surprises Appu’s parents, neighbours, and the community at large. After repeated questioning, Appu says – if you do not sort your waste into wet and dry at home, you are putting my future into the trash bin. This comment startles everyone around and inspires Appu’s parents to separate their waste.

<ul><li>FMCG major <keyword id="6365619" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="hindustan-unilever">Hindustan Unilever</keyword> Ltd on Friday reported a 12.95% rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,631 crore for the third quarter ended December 2019.</li><li>The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,444 crore in the October-December period of the previous fiscal. </li><li>Total expenses stood at Rs 7,849 crore as against Rs 7,900 crore earlier.</li></ul>FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd on Friday reported a 12.95 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,631 crore for the third quarter ended December 2019, helped by improvement in margins and volume growth.
 The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,444 crore in the October-December period of the previous fiscal.
 Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 9,953 crore, up 3.87 per cent from Rs 9,582 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, <keyword id="178761" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hindustan-Unilever-Limited">Hindustan Unilever Limited</keyword> (HUL) said in a regulatory filing. "Domestic Consumer Growth was 4 per cent with Underlying Volume Growth at 5 per cent" in the quarter, it said.
 "This quarter witnessed an overall challenging market environment, mainly reflecting a sharp slowdown in rural and discretionary spends. In this tough environment, HUL has delivered a resilient performance which is reflective of the strength of our brands, consistency in strategy and execution prowess," HUL CMD <keyword id="169120" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sanjiv-Mehta">Sanjiv Mehta</keyword> said. "Our continued focus on innovation and market development has helped sustain underlying volume growth at a steady 5 per cent. We have also delivered a healthy margin improvement," he added.

 Shares of HUL on Friday settled at Rs 2,034.15 apiece on the BSE, down 1.18 per cent from the previous close.
