Addressing the 47th AGM of RIL, Ambani said the <keyword id="19906886" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jio" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Jio" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Jio">Jio</keyword> AI-Cloud Welcome offer will be launched during the upcoming Diwali, which would bring a "powerful and affordable solution where cloud <keyword id="20244986" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="data-storage" source="keywords">data storage</keyword> and data-powered <keyword id="20411515" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="AI-services" source="keywords">AI services</keyword> are available to everyone, everywhere". "Jio users will get up to 100 GB of free cloud storage to securely store and access all their photos, videos, documents, all other digital content, and data. And we will also have the most affordable prices in the market for those needing even higher storage," he said. Jio is of the firm belief that AI should not be a luxury reserved for a select few, he said, adding that AI services must be accessible on all devices, not just expensive, high-end devices. "This requires a delivery model where AI services and the data processed by AI are both hosted in the cloud, allowing every user to access their data and AI services from anywhere, on any device, over low-latency broadband networks," Ambani said. This is the only way to ensure that everyone will benefit from AI, irrespective of their socio-economic background. "We call this concept Connected Intelligence. As a first step to Connected Intelligence, every user needs ample and affordable data storage capacity in the cloud, with the highest levels of privacy and security. With data safely stored in the cloud, AI can deliver intelligent, personalised services over the network," he said. Jio has added its voice assistant "<keyword id="22963884" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hello-Jio" source="keywords">Hello Jio</keyword>" to its newly launched operating system -- Jio TvOS, which will enable TV users to control their Set-Top Box with voice commands. It will be accessible through the mic button on the Jio remote. "Recently, we made Hello Jio even smarter using the latest Generative AI technologies, improving its natural language understanding and making it feel more human-like. Now, finding content on JioSTB is easier than ever. For example, just say, 'Hello Jio, find action movies,' and it will search across all your apps like Amazon Prime, Disney+, HotStar and more," Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani said. Akash Ambani also introduced the JioPhonecall AI service, which will let users record and store any call in Jio Cloud and automatically transcribe it. "It can also summarise the call and even translate it into another language. New Airtel and Reliance Jio prepaid plans compared

<img class="gwt-Image" src="/photo/57728609.cms" /><keyword id="112601" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="indian-telecom-industry">Indian telecom industry</keyword> is going to see a big merger, the result of which would displace <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/airtel-speeds-past-jio-and-others-as-indias-fastest-network/articleshow/57429981.cms">Airtel</a> from the position of market leader. 
 
The board of Idea Cellular, owned by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/IIM-A-shortlisted-K-M-Birla-forthe-post-of-chairman/articleshow/54625345.cms">Kumar Mangalam Birla</a>, has announced that it has approved of a merger with <keyword id="6354923" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vodafone-India">Vodafone India</keyword> and its wholly owned subsidiary <keyword id="15492" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vodafone">Vodafone</keyword> India Mobile Services. 
 
The name of the new entity has not been decided yet, but it’s known that Vodafone India's business except its investments in Indus Towers will be a part of it. 
 
Vodafone will have a 45.1% share in the new entity, and the merger would see a transfer of 4.9% shares to the promoters of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/tech/with-idea-making-incoming-calls-free-national-roaming-willsoon-be-a-matter-of-past/articleshow/57606367.cms">Idea Cellular</a> for Rs 38,740 crore in cash. Out of the remaining stake, 26% will be held by <keyword id="6354955" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kumar-mangalam-birla">Kumar Mangalam Birla</keyword> and other promoters of Idea Group, leaving the rest for the public. 
 
It would take the merger 24 months to be completed, subject to approvals from shareholders, creditors, stock exchanges, SEBI, the telecom department and Competition Commission of India. 
 
More details about the merger would be out later today. 
 
The board of the new entity would comprise of three directors nominated by the promoters of Idea and Vodafone both. Idea’s nominee will serve as the chairman while Vodafone’s nominee would be the CFO. CEO and COO positions would be decided by both parties together. 
 
The agreement between Idea and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/vodafoneindia-just-partnered-with-amazon-prime-video/articleshow/57717680.cms">Vodafone</a> says that Idea promoters would be able to acquire up to a 9.5% additional stake from Vodafone with a view to equalise shareholding overtime. 
 
In case both Idea and Vodafone hold equal shareholding by the end of the 4th year after the completion of the merger, Vodafone will have to reduce its holding so that the ownership can be equalised over the 5th year. Until then, additional shares held by Vodafone will be restricted and votes will be exercised jointly. 
 
The new entity will have enough spectrums to compete with all major operators, and would also be able to offer attractively priced 3G and 4G mobile services to its consumers, which would be a boost since the telcos are under <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/small-business/tech/jios-back-breaking-new-data-plans-are-giving-rivals-sleepless-nights/articleshow/57432021.cms">constant threat</a> from newly launched <keyword id="6354504" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Reliance-Jio">Reliance Jio</keyword>.

For most companies though, there's not much to do besides crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.As Rosalie Chan reports, the risks and uncertainty are not limited to tariffs on hardware companies reliant on China supply chains. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cloudflare-ipo-s1-baidu-partnership-tech-cold-war-2019-8">Businesses in the cloud are also vulnerable, as was evident in cybersecurity company Cloudflare's IPO paperwork</a>. Cloudflare called out the tough trade negotiations and tensions between the US and Chinese governments in its S-1 filing, noting that its local Chinese partner could choose to terminate its partnership early, or not renew it. KC is now a VP of "Corporate Engineering" in the Google Cloud business.It's an interesting move, given that Google employees have been among the most active in opposing current US immigration policies, and famously revolted last year over the company's AI contract with the Pentagon.
