Greater Noida, Feb 6 () MG Motor India on Thursday showcased its new SUV 'Hector Plus' that is scheduled to go on sale later this year.<p>Hector Plus is a 6- and 7-seater addition to the Hector brand that the company claims is India's first internet car.</p><p>HECTOR PLUS is designed to build on the success of HECTOR and has a more premium look and customisable seating configuration, along with revamped interiors and exteriors, MG Motor India President and Managing Director Rajeev Chaba said at the Auto Expo.</p><p>He added that the new model is scheduled to go on sale later this year. </p><p>MG Motors is owned by China's SAIC Motor Corporation. </p>MG Motor India is showcasing a total of 14 internet, electric and autonomous cars across hatchback, sedans and utility vehicle segments at the Auto Expo here. MG Motor India to bring Hector Plus to India later this year

New Delhi, Feb 20 () MG Motor India on Thursday said bookings for its SUV Hector have crossed 50,000 units in just eight months since its launch, and plans to launch six-seater version of the model later this year.<p> The model has already sold nearly 20,000 units since its entry into India last year.</p><p> MG Motor India Chief Commercial Officer Gaurav Gupta said, "The Hector continues its strong momentum in the Indian market crossing the 50,000-mark in terms of bookings received in just eight months since its launch."</p><p> He further said the company continues to accelerate the momentum by opening new brand outlets closer to prospective customers in tier-I and tier-II cities.</p><p> "With plans to launch the Hector Plus 6-seater family version in Q3 2020 (third quarter of 2020), we aim to further strengthen the Hector brand in India," Gupta said.</p><p> MG Motor India said it has already expanded its operational footprint to over 200 centres across India and aims to expand the number to 250 by March-end.</p> It is also planning to make MG Gloster available in the market by Diwali 2020. At least 2,800 people have died and more than 82,500 have gotten sick, mostly in China. "One would hope that the gradual spring will help this virus recede. They're all seasonal, and they typically cause mild common colds, though each can cause pneumonia.</p><p>According to Adalja, the new coronavirus may very well be endemic now, too - a member of the club of "community-acquired," constantly circulating coronaviruses.</p><p>On Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported the first possible case of coronavirus <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/first-possible-us-coronavirus-case-community-spread-2020-2">"community spread"</a> in the US. The new coronavirus could circulate forever, experts say - becoming another illness in the sea of seasonal colds and flus

<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>Speculation has shifted to who will replace </span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">New York State Department of Financial Services Superintendent Benjamin Lawsky, who is <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/benjamin-lawsky-will-step-down-nytimes-2015-5">leaving the position</a> to launch a legal and consulting firm. </span></p><p>Lawsky took the reins for DFS four years ago after Gov. Andrew Cuomo appointed him to the agency after its creation.</p><p>In the time since, he's racked up billions in fines for DFS and spooked plenty of dealmakers on Wall Street.</p><p>Business Insider reached out to the Department of Financial Services, which didn't comment. It's not clear when Lawsky will relinquish his role at DFS, but that's not stopping tongues on Wall Street from wagging. </p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Both lawyers and dealmakers expressed a range of emotions and ideas when Business Insider to discuss the second-ever DFS superintendent. This is what they said:</span></p><ul><li><strong style="line-height: 1.5em;">Expect another politico:</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> "His successor likely will have experience in the U.S. Attorney's office for the Southern District of New York, where he or she has prosecuted securities or financial crime cases, plus experience in New York state <keyword id="6358883" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Politics">politics</keyword>, serving as counsel to a powerful state legislator or to an important legislative committee that conducts publicly visible investigations," one legal source said. "The position has become prosecutorial, not just regulatory, and requires political savvy and backing."</span></li><li><strong>There are a handful of former Wall Street prosecutors</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong> who could be a fit</strong>, one source says. Neil Barofsky is now a partner with <keyword id="6355470" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Law">law</keyword> firm Jenner &amp; Block, but before that he spent eight years as a prosecutor in the Southern District of New York. Today, he's the deputy US attorney in the Southern, and widely viewed as US Attorney Preet Bharara's 'Number Two.' <em>"I don't think anyone would question his prosecutorial chops,"</em> one source opined.</span></li><li><strong>This person should have some private sector experience.</strong> Another former regulator says<span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> there is a need for a DFS superintendent with at least some private sector chops. <em>"The best candidate would be one with public and private sector experience,"</em> said Roy Gaffer, an ex-SEC lawyer who today works for law firm Sadis Goldberg.</span></li><li><strong style="line-height: 1.5em;">One candidate</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong> is Jonathan Schwartz</strong>, a former Wall Street pro who has spent years working in the cable industry. He's currently general counsel for Univision and has experience with other entertainment companies. His mix of private- and public-sector experience makes him a potential fit for the role, in one source's view.</span></li><li><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>Hector Gonzalez could be the guy.</strong> He is another legal eagle who has experience prosecuting crimes in the Southern District of New York. Now, he's at law firm Dechert. When news of Lawsky's departure broke, the <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/21/business/dealbook/benjamin-lawsky-to-step-down-as-new-yorks-top-financial-regulator.html">New York Times reported</a> Gonzalez is considered as a potential candidate to replace him. </span></li><li><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>David Meister might be the right person. </strong>He's a partner with law firm Skadden. He's also a veteran of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where he was enforcement director. Before that, Meister was also a prosecutor in the Southern District of New York. </span></li><li><strong>A long-shot for the seat</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong> is Carrie Cohen,</strong> a legal source said. She is a Southern District prosecutor with some private sector experience, but most of her work has come as a prosecutor. The biggest drawback for Cohen right now is the fact that she's also in charge of prosecuting New York State assemblyman Sheldon Silver. A New York prosecutor that Wall Street can't stand just resigned - here's who could take his spot

Its 2-day loss is over 10%. We haven't seen a decline like that since 1980.</p>
<p>We already explained why the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/everyone-should-be-thrilled-by-the-collapse-of-gold-2013-4">gold crash</a> is good news, because it represents a turn <em>away</em> from rocks, and towards humanity.</p>
<p>But there's something else going on, which can only be described as "Goldenfreude", the pleasure of seeing gold fans lose money.</p>
<p>Pleasure at the misfortune of others is a bad thing that should be discouraged, but from time to time, people can't help themselves.</p>
<p>So why does Goldenfreude exist?</p>
<p>We asked a few of our favorite pundits/investors/talking heads to explain it.</p>
<p>The pseudonymous trader <a href="http://twitter.com/Pawelmorski">@pawelmorski </a>(who wrote a <a href="http://pawelmorski.wordpress.com/2013/04/14/gold-of-bogeymen-and-bunker-monkeys/">great post on the gold decline</a>) explained that part of it is a reaction to the constant goldbug religious hectoring while others seriously discuss and address economic problems.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Policymakers have spent the last 5 years stumbling around trying to build ad hoc solutions to unprecedented problems. <strong>It gets tiring being accused of being a sheep or an apologist whenever you try to assess the likely outcome of policy steps, especially when the abuse comes from people who refuse to address such basic points as what debasement actually means, or refuse to follow through the logic of what a gold standard might imply for the real economy</strong>. All of which recognises that there’s still a risk that this could all go horribly wrong. I can certainly see why people would favour an asset like gold as a hedge against tail events, and I get frustrated at the refusal to distinguish between an investment decision and a massive paradigm change in monetary policy.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The cocksuredness of the goldbugs is surely part of it.    </p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The other factor is the way Goldbugs disguise their narratives in non-verifiable  forecasts and predictions – that plus the fear mongering.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.twitter.com/obsoletedogma">Atlantic economics writer Matthew O'Brien</a> had a slightly different take, explaining how the gold decline exposes something that everyone likes to see: The man on a lucky hot streak suddenly realizing he's not that good.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">It's like seeing the guy on a hot streak at the craps table who thinks that shows he's somehow smarter/better.</p>
<p><a href="http://twitter.com/EddyElfenbein">Eddy Elfenbein</a> of <a href="http://www.crossingwallstreet.com/">Crossing Wall Street</a> explains the phenomenon as a much-needed pushback against people who have been unopposed:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">It's because there's little push back against the absurd disaster scenarios that have been peddled in recent years. People used the price of gold to confirm their political views. Today is like a real doctor coming along to treat a patient as a witchdoctor stands by in disbelief.</p>
<p>And Josh Brown of <a href="http://www.thereformedbroker.com/">The Reformed Broker</a> says people are just sick of hearing the "we're all screwed" message over and over:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Personally, I take no pride in seeing anyone lose money, but I think the goldenfreude stems from the fact that the people trying to live normal lives within the system have grown weary of the the narrative that "we're all screwed anyway" and so the mocking is a backlash. Also, the proponents of being loaded with gold have tended to be the biggest blowhards in the room. Now, you don't have to be an asshole to write to an end-of-the-world newsletter - but it helps.</p>
<p>And Paul Krugman adds:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Well, the inflationistas/goldbugs are really, really annoying -- all this air of having the secret wisdom when they actually haven't a clue. And they have been a real destructive factor in policy debate, standing in the way of effective policy by raising fears of Weimar and Zimbabwe. So seeing the one thing they got right -- betting on higher gold prices -- turn sour is cause for a bit of celebration.</p>
<p>So basically, people are tired of being harassed, and they're glad to see a group that's been blabbering unfalsiable stuff for so long get some comeuppance.</p>

You always want to be friendly, but there are some topics that are simply inappropriate for the office.</p>
<p>Sometimes without even knowing it, people say things to coworkers that could be considered inappropriate or discriminatory, even to the point of leaving their companies open to employment lawsuits.</p>
<p>Below are eight discriminatory things you or your coworkers might be doing that you should avoid. Keep in mind that employment laws vary from state to state, so what might be illegal in one place could be merely rude and inappropriate in another.</p>
<h3>1. Asking someone when they plan to retire.</h3>
<p>This can be construed to mean that you think your coworker or employee is becoming too old to work, a sentiment that violates the Age Discrimination Act of 1967, a federal law that applies to workers over the age of 40. While discrimination based on race or sex is often more overt, age discrimination can be as subtle as referring to someone as "past their prime" or "over the hill," or repeating the old maxim that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks."</p>
<p>In general, it is best to avoid remarking on people's age, unless their age is demonstrably relevant to their ability to perform a certain job function.</p>
<h3>2. Making fun of someone's whiteness.</h3>
<p>While there might not be much actual harm in referring to your coworker's brunch habit as "so white," the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects Caucasians from discrimination the same as it does people of any other race. One such instance won't be enough to get you sued, but repeated harassment could lead to your office being deemed a "hostile workplace environment" for white employees. </p>
<p>In 2012, the County of Kauai, Hawaii paid out $120,000 to settle a reverse racism case brought by a white county lawyer who said one of her bosses allegedly told her she needed to assimilate better with the local culture and dump her white boyfriend.</p>
<h3>3. Making positive generalized statements about an ethnic group or race.</h3>
<p>The phrase "you people" is never a good idea because it makes it clear that you are classifying an employee in a given group with a set of pre-defined traits. Even if those traits are positive (i.e. "you guys are such hard workers"), it could lead others in your office to wonder whether your judgments about their race influence how you think about their work..</p>
<h3>4. Repeatedly asking about someone's family health history.</h3>
<p>Most people haven't heard of genetic discrimination, but the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 protects workers from being targeted for their family health history (i.e. a worker who is more likely to have breast cancer because it runs in their family). While off-handed remarks or light teasing are not actionable, repeated inquiry about an employee's susceptibility to various diseases could constitute harassment.</p>
<p>In addition to directly hectoring employees about their genetic information, the Texas Workforce Commission <a href="http://www.twc.state.tx.us/news/efte/discrimination_never_says.html#geneticinfo">advises against</a> discussing an employee's health conditions with others in the office.</p>
<h3>5. Commenting on a coworker's appearance.</h3>
<p>In the age of email and instant messaging, it can be hard to interpret tone in online communications, making comments about a coworker's appearance even more risky.</p>
<p>While you may mean it to be an innocuous compliment, a comment like, "that new outfit looks great on you" could be seen as having sexual intent if the person you're making it to can't read your body language as you say it.</p>
<p>If nothing else, these kinds of remarks can make your coworkers uncomfortable, unhappy, and unproductive. At worse, it could be considered sexual harassment.</p>
<h3>6. Using gendered language.</h3>
<p>It can be commonplace to casually describe a whiny client as "acting like a little girl" or an unpleasant boss as "being a total bitch," but these words carry a gendered connotation that could lead your coworkers to believe you think that only women are capable of being rude or whiny.</p>
<p>Additionally, certain characteristics can be interpreted differently for men and women, such as how an assertive man can be seen as "a leader," while an assertive woman is thought to be "bossy."</p>
<p>Be careful to avoid these misunderstandings and hurt feelings by saying exactly what you mean in a clear, gender-neutral way.</p>
<h3>7. Asking someone to speak for the people of their race/ethnicity/gender/sexuality.</h3>
<p>Perhaps there's a hot-button social issue in the news and you'd like to know what your black/Latino/gay/female coworker thinks about it. This is fine, but don't make your query about their status as a minority. Whatever you do, don't start your sentence with the phrase: "As a [black/Latino/gay] person ...."</p>
<p>This can single out your coworker in an unpleasant way. Plus, no group is a monolith, so it's probably not helpful to get one person's opinion and extrapolate it across an entire ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.</p>
<h3>8. Asking people about their religious beliefs.</h3>
<p>While it's fine to ask people what they're doing over a holiday break, it's best not to seek specific details on people's <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/when-hr-asks-about-religion-in-interview-2014-5" target="_blank">religious beliefs and practices</a> unless they bring it up first.</p>
<p>Expressing too much interest can give the appearance that your opinion of a person (and potentially their job capabilities) hinges on their beliefs. Repeated comments about someone's religion can also be considered harassment, which can become a problem since religious discrimination is outlawed by the Civil Rights Act of 1964.</p>
