The share price of private-sector lenders cracked over 2% during the afternoon session after trading in the green for almost two hours. The crack in its shares also brought the Indian benchmark index down from 300 points higher to 30 points higher. <div type="image" title="HDFC Bank" msid="79545706" hostid="261"></div> The RBI decision came after the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/apps/news/hdfc-banks-net-banking-upi-services-and-atms-down-due-to-data-centre-outage/articleshow/79344484.cms">recent outage</a> at its data centre, which impacted operations last month. It is noteworthy that among all the lenders, HDFC is the largest credit card seller in the country. “RBI has issued an order dated December 2, to HDFC Bank Ltd with regard to certain incidents of outages in the internet banking/ mobile banking/ payment utilities of the bank over the past two years, including the recent outages in the bank’s internet banking and payment system on November 21, 2020, due to a power failure in the primary data centre,” the bank said in a regulatory filing. According to the bank the <a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/893abfb4-95cb-4942-a555-312aef465ef4.pdf">RBI order</a> “has advised the bank to temporarily stop all launches of the digital business-generating activities planned under its program Digital 2.0 and other proposed business generating IT applications and sourcing of new credit card customers”. In addition, the order has directed the bank board to examine the lapses and fixes accountability. The lender said the above measures should be considered for lifting upon satisfactory compliance with the major critical observations as identified by the RBI. HDFC Bank said “over the last two years, it has taken several measures to fortify its IT systems and will continue to work swiftly to close out the balance and would continue to engage with the regulator in this regard. “The bank has been taking conscious, concrete steps to remedy the recent outages on its digital banking channels and assures its customers that it expects the current supervisory actions will have no impact on its existing credit cards, digital banking channels and existing operations. The bank believes that these measures will not materially impact its overall business,” it added. HDFC Bank has lost over $2 billion in market value after the RBI crackdown on the lender’s digital business

In the last one year, HDFC Bank’s shares have risen by 19%. HDFC just became the third Indian company after Reliance and TCS to achieve a market  value of more than ₹6 trillion

By afternoon trade, the stock dipped by over 1% to ₹1424.75. This has brought its valuation back down to just under the ₹8 trillion mark at ₹7.92 trillion. This after brokerage CLSA raised the target price of the lender to ₹1,700 this week. In addition, there was already an air of optimism around private sector banking stocks as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) proposed new guidelines for ownership, including the possibility of increasing promoters’ stake from the current 15% to 26%. HDFC Bank has been one of the best performers over the last three months So far this year the stock has surged by nearly 14% despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The last three months, in particular, have been one of the best performing for the bank. HDFC Bank is among the seven financial companies <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/checkout-top-10-gainers-on-the-nifty-50-in-the-last-three-months/articleshow/79386155.cms">among the top 10 gainers on the NIFTY50 since September.</a> During the second quarter, the bank’s revenues were up by 15% as compared to last year at ₹21,868.8 crore. Its profits also increased by 18.4% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹7,513.1 crore. HDFC Bank has also been <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/finance/banks/news/hdfc-bank-increases-provisions-for-bad-loans-as-impact-of-covid-19-continued-to-bear-down-in-second-quarter/articleshow/78719656.cms">cautious in its commentary</a> with the Supreme Court’s stay on declaring accounts as bad loans until the hearing on the RBI’s moratorium is complete. The bank’s management has said that there haven’t been any requests for restructuring granted as of October. However, they also highlighted that borrowers have until December to file their applications leaving room for the situation to change if warranted. India's largest private sector bank is now bigger than the likes of Lockheed Martin, HSBC or BlackRock

New Delhi, Dec 15 () Six of the 10 most valued Indian companies together added Rs 65,060.30 crore in market valuation last week, with RIL and HDFC emerging as the biggest gainers.
 HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and SBI were the other winners in the top-10 list, while TCS, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), Infosys and ITC suffered losses in their market capitalisation (m-cap) for the week ended Friday.
 The market cap of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), the country's most valued firm, jumped Rs 17,439.74 crore to Rs 10,03,147.26 crore.
 HDFC's valuation zoomed Rs 15,435.51 crore to Rs 4,06,705.23 crore and that of SBI climbed Rs 11,512.75 crore to reach Rs 2,96,921.83 crore.
 The m-cap of HDFC Bank zoomed Rs 9,089.48 crore to Rs 6,91,457.21 crore and that of ICICI Bank advanced Rs 8,210.91 crore to Rs 3,47,551.97 crore.
 Kotak Mahindra Bank's valuation rose by Rs 3,371.91 crore to Rs 3,23,236.17 crore.
 In contrast, the valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) dropped Rs 19,231 crore to Rs 7,77,381.54 crore.
 The m-cap of HUL plunged Rs 4,372.92 crore to Rs 4,34,109.76 crore and that of ITC fell Rs 2,027.73 crore to Rs 2,96,971.03 crore.
 Infosys also witnessed a decline of Rs 1,660.8 crore in its m-cap to stand at Rs 3,02,882.73 crore.
 In the list of top-10 firms, RIL retained its number one spot, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, HUL, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys, ITC and SBI.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), HUL, Bharti Airtel and ITC were the other gainers from the top-10 list, while HDFC Bank, HDFC, Infosys and Kotak Mahindra Bank witnessed erosion from their market capitalisation (m-cap) for the week ended Friday. ICICI Bank's valuation jumped Rs 21,561.16 crore to Rs 2,43,350.46 crore. The market cap of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) advanced Rs 15,347.25 crore to Rs 6,77,980.87 crore and that of Bharti Airtel zoomed Rs 7,201.34 crore to Rs 2,74,005.37 crore. RIL's valuation rose by Rs 3,711.77 crore to Rs 7,76,595.26 crore and that of ITC gained Rs 3,380.36 crore to reach Rs 2,31,216.87 crore. Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) added Rs 2,500.39 crore to its m-cap to stand at Rs 5,16,196.27 crore. In contrast, the valuation of Kotak Mahindra Bank plunged Rs 17,211.29 crore to Rs 2,26,972.43 crore. Barring <keyword id="6355199" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="reliance-industries" source="Orion">Reliance Industries</keyword> Limited, rest nine firms including Tata Consultancy Services (<keyword id="6357150" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="tcs" source="Orion">TCS</keyword>), <keyword id="6357149" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="hdfc-bank" source="Orion">HDFC Bank</keyword>, <keyword id="6354512" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="infosys" source="Orion">Infosys</keyword> and ICICI Bank were the gainers from the top-10 list. The combined market valuation gain of the nine firms was at Rs 1,88,366.69 crore. The market valuation of ITC rallied Rs 43,321.81 crore to reach Rs 4,72,353.27 crore. Infosys added Rs 34,043.38 crore, taking its valuation to Rs 6,72,935.25 crore. ICICI Bank's market valuation jumped Rs 32,239.66 crore to Rs 6,02,749 crore and that of TCS zoomed Rs 26,143.92 crore to Rs 12,74,026.80 crore. The market capitalisation (mcap) of HDFC Bank advanced Rs 23,900.84 crore to Rs 9,25,188.45 crore and that of Bharti Airtel climbed Rs 10,432.23 crore to Rs 4,42,015.45 crore. The valuation of Hindustan Unilever went up by Rs 7,988.61 crore to Rs 6,21,678.35 crore and that of HDFC gained Rs 6,503.28 crore to Rs 4,92,313.07 crore. State Bank of India's mcap climbed Rs 3,792.96 crore to Rs 4,85,900.49 crore. However, the mcap of Reliance Industries declined by Rs 5,885.97 crore to Rs 15,75,715.14 crore. In the ranking of top-10 firms, Reliance Industries retained the title of the most valued domestic company, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank, HDFC, State Bank of India, ITC and Bharti Airtel.

New Delhi, Mar 22 () Eight of the top-10 most-valued Indian companies witnessed a combined erosion of Rs 3,63,884.03 crore in market valuation last week, with HDFC Bank taking the biggest hit. During the last week, the Sensex plummeted 4,187.52 points or 12.27 per cent as markets were hit hard due to concerns over the impact of coronavirus on the economy. Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and ITC were the only two companies from the top-10 list to have witnessed gain in their market capitalisation for the trading week closed on Friday. HDFC Bank's valuation tumbled Rs 1,03,470.28 crore to Rs 4,83,720.15 crore. The market cap of ICICI Bank plummeted Rs 65,853.55 crore to Rs 2,23,753.14 crore. Valuation of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) eroded by Rs 54,961.45 crore to Rs 6,46,732.07 crore and that of HDFC dropped by Rs 54,479.15 crore to Rs 3,03,722.13 crore. The market cap of Kotak Mahindra Bank tumbled Rs 39,626.31 crore to Rs 2,41,611.45 crore and that of Infosys tanked Rs 24,382.12 crore to Rs 2,49,123.50 crore. Likewise, Bharti Airtel's valuation diminished by Rs 17,621.45 crore to Rs 2,51,992.19 crore and that of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) declined by Rs 3,489.72 crore to Rs 6,74,678.77 crore. In contrast, ITC, which last week re-entered the top-10 list of companies by market valuation, added Rs 16,367.12 crore to Rs 2,15,790.12 crore. HUL's valuation also gained Rs 4,178.1 crore to Rs 4,44,329.52 crore. In the ranking of the top-10 firms, TCS was leading the chart followed by RIL, HDFC Bank, HUL, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank and ITC. New Delhi, May 31 () Seven of the 10 most valued Indian companies added a whopping Rs 1,76,014.51 crore to their market capitalisation last week, with HDFC Bank emerging as the biggest gainer. RIL, HUL, HDFC, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank were the other winners in the top-10 list, while TCS, Bharti Airtel and Infosys finished with losses for the week ended Friday. HDFC Bank's valuation zoomed Rs 61,612.11 crore to reach Rs 5,21,660.14 crore. The market capitalisation of ICICI Bank jumped Rs 26,487.04 crore to Rs 2,15,029.01 crore and that of HDFC rallied Rs 24,733.64 crore to Rs 2,87,407.32 crore. Reliance Industries Limited added Rs 21,300.4 crore to its market valuation to stand at Rs 9,28,849.39 crore. The valuation of Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) climbed Rs 16,093.85 crore to Rs 4,83,262.07 crore and that of ITC rose by Rs 13,644.38 crore to Rs 2,42,710.11 crore. Kotak Mahindra Bank added Rs 12,143.09 crore to its valuation to reach Rs 2,34,192.24 crore. In contrast, Bharti Airtel's valuation tanked Rs 22,149.56 crore to Rs 3,01,364.99 crore and that of TCS fell Rs 17,786.3 crore to Rs 7,39,801.41 crore. Infosys' market cap dipped by Rs 375.34 crore to Rs 2,94,453.42 crore. In the ranking of top-10 firms, RIL was at the number one spot, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, HUL, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, HDFC, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank.
