The National Council of Educational Research and Training (<keyword id="20255499" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ncert" source="keywords">NCERT</keyword>) will release a new syllabus and textbooks for Classes 3 to 6 while there will be no change in the <keyword id="19917193" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="curriculum" source="keywords">curriculum</keyword> and textbooks for other grades for the academic year 2024-25 commencing from April 1, according to <keyword id="19976140" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbse" source="keywords">CBSE</keyword> officials. The NCERT has informed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that new syllabi and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 are currently under development and will soon be released, the CBSE said in a communication sent to affiliated schools. "Consequently, schools are advised to follow these new syllabi and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 in place of textbooks published by NCERT till the year 2023," said <keyword id="20215578" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="joseph-emmanuel" source="keywords">Joseph Emmanuel</keyword>, Director (Academics), CBSE. "Additionally, a bridge course for class 6, and concise guidelines for class 3 are being developed by the NCERT for facilitating a seamless transition for students to new pedagogical practices and areas of study aligned with new curriculum framework, 2023. These resources will be disseminated to all the schools online once they are received from NCERT. "The Board will also organize capacity-building programs for school heads and Teachers to orient them with the new teaching learning perspectives as envisioned in NEP-2020," he added in the letter. In a revision of the National Curriculum Framework (<keyword id="21063963" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ncf" source="keywords">NCF</keyword>) after 18 years, the Ministry of Education had last year notified the changes. The NCF had undergone four revisions in the past - in 1975, 1988, 2000, and 2005. The council is in process of preparing new school textbooks in line with the new national curriculum framework for school education (NCF-SE) 2023 as a part of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. "There will be no change in the Curriculum and textbooks for other classes for the academic year 2024-25 commencing from April 1, 2024," he said. The NCF for the foundational stage (FS) was launched by the Ministry of Education in 2022 and according to the curriculum framework, the NCERT developed and collected the learning-teaching material (LTM). Toys, puzzles, puppetry, posters, flash cards, worksheets and attractive storybooks are part of the "<keyword id="21063964" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jaadui-pitara" source="keywords">Jaadui Pitara</keyword>" launched by the Ministry of Education for learning at the foundational stage. In 2022, the NCERT had rationalised the syllabi of classes 6 to 12 to "reduce the content load" on students in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the changes, reflected in new textbooks published last year, the council had removed chapters on Mughal courts, 2002 Gujarat riots, cold war, references of Mughal emperors, and Emergency and periodic table. While the council maintained there was no selective omission of topics, the rationalisation exercise had created a political controversy with leaders from opposition parties alleging the ruling dispensation was "erasing history". New curriculum, books for grades 3-6 from 2024-25, no change in syllabus for other classes: CBSE

Shah, who will officially take up the role on December 1, 2024, is set to make history as the youngest individual to ever lead the global governing body for cricket. "I am humbled by the nomination as the Chair of the International Cricket Council. I am committed to working closely with the ICC team and our member nations to further globalise cricket," Shah stated in a release issued by the ICC. In his statement, Jay Shah highlighted the goals he has planned to set for his tenure. “We stand at a critical juncture where it is increasingly important to balance the coexistence of multiple formats, promote the adoption of advanced technologies, and introduce our marquee events to new global markets. Our goal is to make cricket more inclusive and popular than ever before," he said. Since 2021, he has also held the position of Chairperson of the Asian Cricket Council. Union Finance Minister Nirmala <keyword id="19916494" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sitharaman" source="keywords">Sitharaman</keyword> on Friday urged officers of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (<keyword id="19908147" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="CBIC" source="keywords">CBIC</keyword>) to proactively address <keyword id="20283921" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="doubts" source="keywords">doubts</keyword> and concerns raised by the public and business community regarding taxes before they escalate into grievances. Speaking at the inauguration of the new <keyword id="22890667" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="GST-Bhawan" source="keywords">GST Bhawan</keyword> in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Sitharaman emphasized the importance of a preventive approach in handling tax-related issues. She highlighted that government officials should prioritize solving problems at the stage where they are mere doubts, rather than allowing them to develop into full-blown grievances. "Before addressing a grievance, if we spend time through outreach to clear the doubts and suspicions in their minds, those doubts won't escalate into grievances" said Finance Minister Sitharaman. Sitharaman also highlighted the significance of effective information sharing in this process. She suggested that by engaging in sector-wise outreach and addressing any doubts that arise, officials could prevent potential issues from turning into grievances. "I request that before grievances arise, we should definitely carry out outreach sector by sector. If there are any doubts in their minds after this and some changes need to be made accordingly, we can make those changes as well. So, more than anything else, we need to focus on information sharing" added Sithraman. She asked the RRBs to become more customer-friendly and leverage their local connections to further improve performance. "All RRBs have devised customised MSME products aligning with cluster activities. However, they need to regularly review their credit portfolio in that segment", she said. She also highlighted that Sponsor Banks and RRBs must recognise the challenges that lie ahead, especially maintaining asset quality, expanding digital services, and ensuring robust corporate governance are the areas that require continued focus. AdPorts and Special Economic Zone on Thursday reported that its Profit After Tax or net profits during the just-concluded financial year 2023-24 grew by a whopping 50 per cent to Rs 8,104 crore. In 2022-23, they were at Rs 5,391 crore. During the fourth quarter January-March, the net profits grew 77 per cent to Rs 2,015 crore. Our efforts towards sustainable business growth are well recognized in the top decile ESG rating from four global rating agencies," added Gupta. In 2023-24, APSEZ said it handled 27 per cent of the country's total cargo and 44 per cent of container cargo. Ten of its ports from the India portfolio recorded their lifetime high cargo volumes for the year. For 2023-24, the APSEZ Board has recommended a dividend of Rs 6 per share. This implies a payout of around Rs 1,300 crore for the company. A dividend is a reward that companies often provide to their shareholders, though it is not mandatory, from a portion of their earnings. APSEZ is the largest port developer and operator in India with seven strategically located ports and terminals on the west coast (Mundra, Tuna, Dahej, and Hazira in <keyword id="19906863" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gujarat" source="keywords">Gujarat</keyword>, Mormugao in Goa, Dighi in Maharashtra and Vizhinjam in Kerala) and eight ports and terminals on the East coast of India (Haldia in West Bengal, Dhamra and Gopalpur in Odisha, Gangavaram and Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Kattupalli and Ennore in Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in Puducherry).
